Episode 5724 Tuesday, January 5, 2010 Dear Faithful Readers: It is with a heavy heart I have decided this will be my last week to write my daily updates for The Bold and the Beautiful. The past 10 ½ years have been fun but a decade is a long time and things have changed in my life. Time constraints keep me from being able to devote the time and effort I would like to the task. I thank each and every one of you for being such great fans and I’m sorry if you feel I’m letting you down. This decision was not easy to make and has actually been about 2 years in the making. Thank you for your kind words, devotion, and support through the years. I will probably miss you more than you’ll miss me. In my emotional state while writing yesterday’s update, I neglected to include… The Quote of the Day: When Whip explained how Stephanie had wanted him to seduce Brooke away from Ridge, Brooke replied with “That woman would rather I sleep with a labradoodle instead of her son.” (First, for all those not familiar with a labradoodle, it is a mixed breed dog – a mix between a Labrador and a poodle. I find it odd that writers chose such an oddly named breed to make the point. And second, Brooke seems to be saying having sex with Whip would be the equivalent of doing it with a dog. Ouch! That’s gotta hurt.) So today…Nick and Sandy returned to his office at Jackie M Designs. She thanked him for helping her. She was fired up about changing the system. Bridget arrived and wondered what was going on. Sandy abruptly left. When Bridget asked what had happened Nick wanted to tell her the truth. But he remembered Sandy begging him to keep her secret from Bridget until she got some results from the police. Nick promised his wife they would deliriously happy when their baby was born. Bridget then shared a rumor she’d heard. Her father’s Dare collection wasn’t very good. She worried he may have lost his inspiration when he lost the company. (No, he simply lost his marbles.) Meanwhile, Katie intercepted Marcus as he took a clothing rack containing the entire Dare collection to Eric/Thorne’s Office. She told Marcus she needed it first. She would call him when he could take it to Ridge. (We later learned Marcus had not been clued in on the BRILLIANT plan to sabotage the collection.) Katie had invited Snippy Reporter Jarrett to her office for an exclusive preview of the Dare line. When SNJ saw it, he was shocked. Katie asked if it was as bad as she feared it was. SNJ answered with… The Quote of the Day: “No. It’s worse.” (Oh, that’s an old one.) SNJ couldn’t fathom Ridge and Eric would intentionally design gowns so hideous. SNJ thought he might be wrong. Besides, Brooke and Donna were Katie’s sisters. They wouldn’t lie to her. (Think again, honey. Think again.) Down in Eric/Thorne’s Office, Ridge met with Brooke and Steffy to discuss the “plan.” Brooke stated she was feeling guilty about lying to her sister. Ridge worried Brooke was going to crack. When Marcus showed up without the clothes rack he explained how Katie wanted to see it first. Since she was the CEO, he didn’t think there would be any problem with that. (Oh yes there is Marky-baby.) Brooke received a call from Katie. She wanted to see her right away. Brooke went to Katie’s Office and put on her best poker face. (And speaking of Poker Face…at last year’s Pride celebration a drag queen was performing the Lady GaGa hit. Of course she was. And being all inclusive, an interpreter was translating the words using international sign language at the side of the stage. Of course she was. Since the words “poker face” are repeated about a million times, I learned – or so I thought – the motion for the term “poker face.” I was so proud as I displayed my new knowledge to a friend who knows sign language that night. “Where’d you learn that?” he snarled. I explained. He told me my hand motions literally interpreted to “blank expression.” He told me it would be insulting to a hearing impaired person to explain to them what poker face meant. He then showed me the actual motions for the words “poker” and “face.” So be careful out there.) Now where was I? Oh yeah, Katie told Brooke she valued her family more than anything. She always trusted them with the truth. So she was going to ask one last time. Was the Dare collection for real? Or was it a joke? Katie screamed she did not want to be the punch line. |
