Episode 5726 Thursday, January 7, 2010 Dear Faithful Readers: It is with a heavy heart I have decided this will be my last week to write my daily updates for The Bold and the Beautiful. The past 10 ½ years have been fun but a decade is a long time and things have changed in my life. Time constraints keep me from being able to devote the time and effort I would like to the task. I thank each and every one of you for being such great fans and I’m sorry if you feel I’m letting you down. This decision was not easy to make and has actually been about 2 years in the making. Thank you for your kind words, devotion, and support through the years. I will probably miss you more than you’ll miss me. In Nick’s Office at Jackie M Designs, Bridget and Nick set up a dining table and selected dinnerware. They had invited Jackie and Owen for dinner. (Um, how incredibly unspectacular to treat them to a dinner…AT WORK!) Nick explained if it hadn’t been for Owen’s research into surrogacy, he and Bridget would not be having their baby now. To top it off, it was clear how much Owen loved Jackie. So he was A-OK, in Nick’s book. Bridget and Nick presented Owen with gifts to prepare him for becoming a grandfather: a pipe, a pair of slippers, two hearing aids (tacky), and a T-shirt that said “World Best Grandfather.” (The Rocket Man commented the T-shirt looked small. I explained it was for Owen. Of course it needed to be skin tight.) Nick again thanked Owen for being such a great guy and he was going to let his child call him “Grandpa Six Pack. Jackie quipped… The Quote of the Day: “Actually, it’s an eight-pack.” (To which Owen replied “Now that’s what I’m talking’ about.” I’m slightly nauseated.) (And to make a strange scene even stranger, all four characters ate the entire meal with their fingers. I’m not kidding. During the salad course Nick and Owen both picked up carrots from the salad plates and ate them from their fingers. Bridget did the same with a green bean and Jackie looked to be holding a piece of celery. And even when there was an obvious slab of meat on their plates Bridget ate a vegetable with her fingers. There was silverware on the table. I saw it. Very strange.) Meanwhile, things were very heated at Forrester Creations. Bill screamed at the Forrester Family. He told Ridge and Eric their plan was ridiculous and would never have worked. When Ridge pointed out the Spencer Board would have made him sell the company Bill gave us… The Second Quote of the Day: “How dumb are you Ridge?” (Bill, Bill, Bill. I’ve been proving that point for the past ten and a half years. Let me tell you I’ve got files, graphs, and pie charts to prove how dumb Ridge is.) Bill said Eric and Ridge would have only hurt themselves and their reputations. Bill owned most of the fashion press. He would have spun the bad gowns in his favor. But Bill saved most of his venom for Brooke and Donna. He was repulsed by how they had treated their sister. They were willing to throw her under the bus and lie to her in order to help their sniveling husbands. He called them both tramps who had slept their way to the top. They disgusted him. They all needed to understand they would never get their company back. But he would never fire any of them. That would render their no-compete clause null and void. They would be able to work somewhere else. But if they wanted to quit they should feel free. He understood they were hiring at the mall. Katie was furious Bill had usurped her power and insulted her sisters. Bill left and Katie followed. Then Steffy blew up. Katie was the cause of all their problems. When Ridge and Eric told Steffy to calm down she only got more angry. They had lost the company because of the Logan influence. Bill was right. Brooke and Donna had done little to nothing to help the company. It was when Stephanie was booted from the business that things went downhill. They had lost their moral compass and the business had been ripe for the picking. It was the Logans fault – not Bill’s – they had lost the company. Bill and Katie arrived at the Malibu Beach House. They were both furious over what had happened. But Katie was further upset over how Bill had spoken to her sisters. Bill was furious Katie continued to defend them. After a commercial, we returned to the Malibu Beach House where a thunderstorm had suddenly developed and – are you ready for this? – THERE WAS A FIRE ROARING IN TH FIRE PLACE. Since we can assume a fire wasn’t left burning all day, I guess we are to believe Bill and Katie took time from their argument to start a fire. – unless of course some lightening came down the chimney and ignited the wood already sitting there. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Katie told Bill her relationship with her sisters was not black and white. She still loved them even though they had tried to sabotage the fashion collection and her career. Bill argued they meant nothing to her. If they were so willing to lie to her and sink her career she owed them nothing. Crying, Katie grabbed her purse. She needed to take a drive…IN THE POURING RAIN! (You know no good can come of that.) But Bill ordered her to stay put. |
