On a sunny new morning in Los Angeles, Bridget stopped in Katie’s room at the Marone Manse to tell her the good news of her engagement to Nick. Katie was thrilled. Bridget said she owed it all to Katie who had stubbornly pushed her and Nick back together. Bridget had been afraid of getting hurt again but Katie had helped her take a chance on love. Katie didn’t want to take any credit but said if she had anything to do with Bridget’s happiness it was just a small payment for all Bridget had done for her. The love-fest continued for a quite awhile. The pinnacle of the love-a-palooza occurred when Bridget asked Katie to be her maid of honor at the wedding. Katie happily agreed. But during the obligatory hug, Katie looked quite distressed. Downstairs, Jackie came by for a visit. Nick quickly informed his mother he was getting married. Jackie wanted to know to whom he was betrothed. Nick was insulted. Of course he was going to marry Bridget. Jackie wondered if that was such a good idea. If he had feelings for Katie perhaps he should carefully consider this idea. Nick was adamant he was going to marry Bridget. Jackie pointed out how Nick never said he loved his bride-to-be. The conversation stopped when Katie and Bridget joined them in the Living Room. As Nick and Bridget kissed and hugged and cooed about being engaged, Jackie noticed the pained expression on Katie’s face. Katie made an announcement. Because of Bridget and Nick’s persistence and love which had helped her pull through her sickness, Katie proclaimed she would take care of each and every detail of the wedding. Jackie thought that was way beyond the call of duty. But Katie insisted. (I smell trouble.) Over at Forrester Creations, Marcus encountered Steffy on Donna’s Roof Top Lounge. He asked her how to find the prop department. He had a delivery to make there. Steffy explained it was difficult to find. She would take him there. Marcus was certain he could find it on his own. When Steffy indicated he’d be lost for hours, Marcus had to beg her assistance with… The Quote of the Day: “Please. Pretty please…with sugar on top. Please take me to the prop department.” (You have got to be kidding me. “With sugar on top”? It’s ridiculous to think a man who has to be at the very least 20 and is trying to impress a girl would say such a childish thing. I don’t buy these conversations for a minute.) But I clapped my hands with glee as we were treated to a fast-paced montage of Steffy and Marcus running up and down stairs, jaunting across the roof, and trying on hats. (Yes, they tried on hats!) Obviously, it wasn’t the video that made me so happy. It was the accompanying music – Mika’s “Love Today.” OK, being hip a year late is better than not being hip at all. After the delivery was made, the intrepid duo wandered back to the main building down a stairway Steffy was sure no one else knew about. Marcus noticed some writing on the wall. Steffy’s initials were scratched inside a heart with another pair of letters. She explained she had to show the ropes to a nine-year-old boy when she was ten. (I braced myself for sickening cuteness. Good idea I did.) Marcus asked how she had done that. Steffy said she’d demonstrate. She told Marcus to close his eyes. She got close to him and then slugged him in the shoulder. (Don’t ask. It’s inexplicable.) Marcus gave it a try. He told Steffy to shut her eyes. He drew close but stopped. When Steffy stated she was waiting, Marcus replied he was distracted by the spider on her shoulder. Steffy freaked but it was a joke. And that was it. Steffy and Marcus are old enough to have kissed at this point. If they haven’t, there’s something wrong with one – or both - of them. And to be honest, I’d much rather see Felicia flirting with Owen absolutely any day of the week. |
