Episode 5727

There will be some important and some sentimental things at the end of today’s update.  So read the entire post.  You won’t want to miss a single thing.

Nick was in his office at Jackie M Designs cleaning up after the finger-lickin’ good dinner party.  Sandy entered the room.  (How convenient she decided to come talk to Nick AFTER everyone else had left.)  Sandy was in a good mood.  Her confidence and hope were restored after their visit to the police station.  Nick was responsible for getting her life back.  But her hopes were dashed when Lt. Baker walked in.  (Um, how did he get in the building?  How did he find Nick’s Office?  I know these are picky details that don’t really matter.  BUT today’s my last day and I want to get my last licks in before I depart.)  Lt. Baker said they had run the DNA tests from Sandy’s rape kit and her attacker was not in the system.  That meant he had no prior record.  Sandy worried her chances of bringing her assailant to justice were over.   But Lt. Baker promised his police force would find him one way or another.  Although Sandy wasn’t completely convinced Nick reassured her he’d help out too.

At Brooke’s Old Place, our intrepid heroine and Donna chatted about how mad Katie must be at them.  Brooke pointed out Katie had defended them against Bill’s horrible tirade.  (I’ll point out that Miss Jennifer Gareis who plays Donna must be really pregnant.  She’s always wearing black muumuus and hiding behind pillow on the couch.  To be honest, I didn’t really notice until a few Faithful Readers pointed it out to me.  Now that I’m on to it, it’s completely obvious.)  There was a knock on the door.  It was Katie and she was soaking wet.  Apparently she had decided to leave Bill at the Malibu Beach House against his wishes.  Katie explained she was totally confused.  Although she was furious with her sisters for plotting behind her back she still loved them.  Bill didn’t understand how she could defend her sisters after the way they had treated her.  Brooke tried to explain they had actually been looking out for her best interest.  They didn’t think Bill was good for her.  After a couple of glasses of wine, Brooke convinced Katie to spend the night at her house.  She could let Bill know she was fine but between the wine and the weather she shouldn’t get back in her car.  Katie agreed but cried she didn’t know if she could ever trust her sisters again.

Meanwhile, Bill was alone at the Malibu Beach House and decided it was a good idea to drink.  And who should knock on the door?  STEFFY!  At first, it was unclear why Steffy was even there.  Bill wanted her to leave.  But after learning Katie had walked out on him and that he’d started drinking, Steffy decided to stay and pronounced…

The Quote of the Day:  “It’s a good thing you’re drinking.  After I’m done with you you’ll need it.”  (So Steffy’s plan began to take place.)

You see, she tried to convince Bill the best thing for him was to be rid of his wife because the Logan sisters were poison.  And the best way to get them out of his life was to give Forrester Creations back to Ridge and Eric.  Bill laughed.  There was no way that was going to happen.  Steffy kept pounding away at how bad Katie was.  She had taken her deceptive sisters’ side over his.  Bill received a text from Katie.  She told him she was spending the night at Brooke’s.  Steffy shook her head and told him that wasn’t right.  Bill insisted Steffy leave.  But she stayed.  Suddenly, the thunderstorm knocked out the power.  Alone in the dark and intoxicated, Bill grabbed Steffy and kissed her just as a huge clap of thunder…well, thundered.  Yikes!  Steffy pulled away.  The two looked at each other.  Bill leaned in again but Steffy rain out the door.  (Oddly, she was holding an umbrella during the kiss sequence.)

And curtain…and scene.

Today was my final update/synopsis/installment for The Bold and the Beautiful.  In honor of the occasion I’ve got a few people to thank and a couple of things to say.

First, I must thank my dear friend, Craig Hamrick.  He helped me formulate the idea of these daily musings and physically made the web site for me.  Without him this never would have happened.  He died of colon cancer at the age of 39 in 2006.  There is not a day goes by that I don’t miss him.  Thank you Craig for believing in me and helping me make my dreams come true.

Also thanks to Paul Patnode. His constant missed episodes of B&B led me to start recapping the show for him over the phone.

Thanks to my boyfriend when I started the project (Michael Stanton aka Kelsang Jorlam) and my husband, Rocket Man.  They both have given me nothing but support when I had to stay up late watching and writing about a soap opera.

Thanks to my parents, Betty and Ed, who have loved and supported me no matter what the heck I decided to do.  And before digital recording they actually taped and mailed me copies of B&B when I was moving or without TV service.

Thank you, Bradley Bell – Mr. Bold and Beautiful himself.  He saw the love behind my humor and encouraged my take on his vision enough to allow my writings on the official web site for a while.  That was an honor and a privilege.

Special thanks to Rhonda, Eva, and Jennifer at The Bold and the Beautiful at CBS Television City in Hollywood.  Your support and enthusiasm for what I’ve done has been more helpful than you’ll ever know.  Bless you.  (And a shout out to my secret buddy in the sound department who first let me know B&B was on to me.)

Thank you to every one of my family and friends who thought this escapade was entertaining and exciting – not silly or a waste of time.

My final statement of appreciation is to all of you, my Faithful Readers.  Without you this would have been pointless.  Thank you for the years of encouragement.  As I’ve told many of you I truly beleive the best gift anyone can give is to make someone laugh.  I’m glad I was able to do that for you.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Now that I’m signing off, I suggest you get your daily updates from the incomparable Mr. Scott Novick at www.boldbeautifulfan.com.  His updates are much more in depth than mine and he never leaves out details I can’t be bothered with.  He also still has screen captures to illustrate the day.  So cool.  You can also check out lots of other info and background about the show at www.boldandbeautiful.com and www.cbs.com.

And although I have no idea what form it will take, I’m going to have a Facebook page.  You can keep up to date on what I’m doing and I’ll let you know what new projects I’ll be working on.  My page is in the formative stages but you can search for me under David Aaron Martin in Albuquerque, NM.

Finally, be nice to one another. Spend more time laughing with those close to you than being angry at anyone or about anything.  Remember that winning or being right is the least important thing in the world.  Helping and supporting each other IS the most important thing in the world.

That’s it.
