Episode Date: Wednesday, January 2, 2002

Brooke sulked in her room at Spa Ojai. She reminded us (and herself, I suppose) that she was pregnant with her daughter's husband's baby. (OK, I got it. Now move on.) There was a knock on her suite's door and a chamber maid showed Bridget into the room. Brooke was happy to see her daughter, but insisted that she should not have come to see her. Bridget maintained that she was simply worried about her mother and wanted to make sure she was OK. Brooke said she was fine, but had some things to work out. She told Bridget she was ashamed. Bridget tried to get Brooke to open up, but it was no use. Bridget changed the subject to Forrester Creations and said how much Brooke was missed. Ridge was certain to be a good CEO, but he was just keeping things the same until Brooke returned. Bridget mentioned how much everyone at Forrester admired Brooke. Brooke replied that she didn't admire herself. Bridget told her mother what a great person she was - and a great business woman too. She had re-invented Forrester Creations with the Brooke's Bedroom line. Brooke encouraged her daughter to leave because of the long drive home. Bridget told her mother to relax and get well. Ridge was taking care of everything at the company.

Back at Forrester Creations, Rick screamed at Stephanie and Taylor for insulting his mother behind her back in her own office. Stephanie apologized for her remarks, but said it was no secret that she and Brooke didn't see eye to eye. Rick said he never wanted to hear either of them bad-mouthing his mother again. And furthermore, he wanted the bed returned to the office. Stephanie refused. Rick said she should show Brooke more respect because his mother had made lots of money for all of them by re-inventing Forrester Creations with the Bedroom line. Rick told the ladies that he was going to leave and forget the entire ugly incident had happened…and he had better see the bed back in the office the next time he came to Forrester. Just as Rick was storming out, Ridge entered the office and wondered what the heck was going on.

At Brooke's house, Amber daydreamed about being a successful designer at Forrester while Rick was the CEO. Her happiness was interrupted when Rick returned home and told her about Stephanie and Taylor's harsh words about Brooke. Amber was surprised that Stephanie, whom she had always admired, would be so cruel. Rick said Amber had been right. He needed to hang around Forrester and keep an eye on things while Brooke was away.

Back in Brooke's office, Ridge admonished his wife and mother for being so cruel about Brooke in her own office. Stephanie said she was sorry she had offended Rick, but he would certainly calm down. Ridge suggested that the bed be returned to the office just to keep the peace. Stephanie refused and said it was high time that the glory days of Forrester returned…the days before they were known for making trashy underwear. Taylor piped in and agreed. The Forrester reputation had been tarnished by the sleazy product they were producing. Ridge mentioned that he and Eric had been discussing bring back the image of haute couture to Forrester. Stephanie said the only way to do that was to sell off Brooke's Bedroom line! (Oh my! So that's the game their going to play! I'm loving it!) Ridge balked at such a drastic measure, but Taylor agreed that they should think about the image of the company they were leaving to their children. Ridge didn't disagree and said he would bring up the idea of dumping the Bedroom line at that night's board meeting.

Oh, I can't wait.

At Spa Ojai, Brooke rested on her bed and remembered gettin' it on with studly Deacon. She woke up sweaty and distressed. Later, a hotel employee, Susan, was in Brooke's room and poured some tea for her. Susan suggested that Brooke try some yoga classes to relax. Brooke said she didn't feel like interacting with anyone. She felt totally alone and thought that was exactly what she deserved. Susan didn't like to hear anyone talk like that and mentioned that there was a famous radio therapist staying at the spa, Dr. Isabel. Brooke thanked Susan for the information, but didn't think there was anyone that could help her. She had committed a sin that was unforgivable, but she had to admit that she enjoyed it. Brooke told herself that she was a horrible mother. (Yeah, so what else is new? I want to know more about this Dr. Isabel. Will there be a special guest star? Loni Anderson? Lindsey Wagner? How about Edina from Absolutely Fabulous? "Brooke, sweetie, darling. Just have a martini and bloody get over it.")

At the Malibu Beach house, Bridget returned home and told Deacon that she had visited Brooke. Deacon wanted to know what was up with Brooke. Bridget said she had tried to get her mother to open up, but it was no use. She said that Brooke didn't even want to hear that Deacon was concerned about her. Deacon thought Brooke was over-reacting. Bridget found the comment odd because she thought her mother had dealt with all the problems of the past year in a good way. Why was she now freaking out? Deacon retired to the bedroom to allow Bridget some time alone with her thoughts.

Actually, he went to the bedroom to call Brooke. (He had the number because Brooke had called Bridget the previous day and the caller ID had registered the phone number.) He asked Brooke if her problems had to do with him. Brooke replied that it was really none of his concern. Deacon tried to make Brooke feel better by reminding her that when they slept together, they both thought his marriage to Bridget was over. They had been wrong and now they just had to forget everything that had happened between them. Brooke asked if Bridget was happy. Deacon replied that she was happy with her relationship, but worried sick about her mother. Brooke said that was all she needed to know and hung up the phone.

Meanwhile, Stephanie visited Massimo at his penthouse. She wanted to fill him in on Ridge's success as a CEO. She was certain that he was going to leave his mark on Forrester Creations. They toasted his success as Stephanie said she understood Mass's pain of not being a part of his son's life. Massimo said he had always loved Stephanie. La Forrester admitted she had always loved Mass as well, but nothing could come of it. Massimo then reminded Stephanie that Ridge's reign as CEO was only temporary. Ridge could only attain true greatness with the help of Massimo. (Can I ask a question? If Massimo was always in love with Stephanie and the two of them have kept in touch through the years and Mass knows of Eric's marriages to other women….why didn't Massimo show up and marry Stephanie when she was available? Riddle me that!)

Now on to the board meeting. Ridge took charge and noted that Brooke's Bedroom line was against the image of Forrester Creations. Thorne pointed out that it had been the best selling line over the past year. Eric reported that 70% of the entire advertising budget had gone towards Brooke's Bedroom. It had only shown a 10% return. Even though that was good, it shouldn't be the main focus of the company. Ridge suggested getting rid of the lingerie line altogether. Thorne wondered what Brooke had to say about that idea. Ridge admitted that he did not plan to discuss the matter with her. He and Eric agreed that it was time to bring back the golden age of Forrester. They convinced Thorne to vote with them. Ridge announced the bedroom line would cease production the very next day! Taylor, who had sat in on the meeting, was very pleased. Megan, who had been taking notes, was not pleased at all.

That's it? Three votes? That was the board meeting? Aw, what a let down. I know there will be delicious repercussions, but I wanted some screaming and throwing of file folders.

Deacon strode into Forrester Creations (dressed in his usual Johnny Cash black attire) and encountered Megan in Eric's office. He had been looking for the intrepid secretary to ask her about Brooke's disappearance. Megan said Brooke was doing fine and she certainly didn't want Deacon's help in any way. Deacon threatened to go to Ojai himself and confront Brooke. As he was leaving, Megan spit that she knew Deacon had slept with Brooke. Deacon stopped, shut the door, and looked at Megan. She said that something powerful must have happened between the two of them. Megan knew the power Brooke had over men. Megan wanted Deacon to admit that he still had feelings for Brooke. Deacon only said that he cared about Brooke as a person, but nothing lasting had happened between him and Brooke. Megan shook her head and said "whatever." Deacon asked if there was something he needed to know. Megan hesitated, but said there was nothing else to tell. Thinking she was lying, Deacon said he would get some answers on his own. Megan tried to stop him, but he exited of the office.

Meanwhile, up at the Ojai Spa, Brooke sunned on her terrace and remembered (yet again) makin' some lovin' with Deacon. She then reminded herself and us (YET AGAIN) that she was pregnant with Deacon's baby. There was a knock on the door. It was Dr. Isabel. (No, it wasn't Loni Anderson or Lindsey Wagner. Apparently, Dr. Isabel is a real person. She explained that she's the Latina version of Dr. Joyce Brothers. She has a radio call-in show.) With a little prodding, Brooke said she had a sexual relationship with a man she hated. She was now pregnant and no one could ever know. Sensing Brooke was very upset, Dr. Isabel suggested that they continue talking the following day. She added that the strong feelings Brooke had for the man may not be hate at all.

A little later, there was another knock on the door. It was Deacon! He demanded answers as to why Brooke was in hiding. Brooke yelled that they had nothing to discuss. Deacon reminded Brooke of their nights of passion…of how he had been impressed with how she had followed her dream of having Ridge. Deacon leaned in and kissed Brooke. She pulled away and said the couldn't do it. Deacon said they could and the couple kissed passionately. HA! Fooled us…it was only Brooke's daydream. (Oh, girlfriend, you got it bad.)

Back in Brooke's office at Forrester Creations, Rick studied the business at his mother's desk. Amber said he should get ready to run the company. Rick replied that Ridge was doing a fine job. He had returned the bed to Brooke's office and certainly wouldn't do anything to change the company while Brooke was gone. Oh yeah? Bridget entered and told her brother that Ridge had dropped the bedroom line! Rick was furious and stormed out of the office.

Over in Ridge's office, Thorne told his brother that he was concerned that the buyers might be concerned about the sudden changed in direction of the company. Ridge replied that the opposite was true. Haute couture orders were pouring in from customers that had not done business with Forrester since Brooke's Bedroom line began. To further drive the point home, Princess Charlotte called to say she wanted to schedule a fitting. (Princess Charlotte? Who the heck is that? She must be French because she said "Enchantée" when she hung up the phone.) Thorne was impressed. But Rick wasn't! He bullied into the office and called Ridge and ungrateful bastard for dumping Brooke's own line!

Now here's a shocker! Brooke wandered about her room at the Ojai Spa and tried to get Deacon out of her mind as she told herself for the one millionth time that she was pregnant with her daughter's husband's child! The phone rang it was Deacon. He implored Brooke to say if what happened between them was the reason she had gone into hiding. (She's not hiding very well if everyone and their dog can call her anytime they want.) Brooke hung up on him.

Deacon went into the Malibu Beach house and shuffled through a drawer to get some cigarettes. He found an ancient photo of Brooke for the BeLieF press conference that took place in 1992! (Bridget just moved into the Malibu Beach house. I highly doubt a ten year old photo - which incidentally was taken before Bridget was actually born - would pop up in her junk drawer - in perfect condition, no less.) Anyway, Bridget joined her husband looking at the photo. They remarked that Brooke was usually so strong. They wondered why she had fallen apart. Bridget said Brooke should maybe know about the bedroom line being dropped. Perhaps that would snap her out of her funk. Deacon feared such news would push Brooke over the edge in her fragile state. Bridget was impressed with Deacon's concern for her mother. That led to some kissing and heavy petting. As Deacon nuzzled Bridget's neck, he saw that darn old photo of Brooke on the coffee table over her shoulder. Deacon then suggested they move their afternoon delight into the bedroom.

Meanwhile, in her Ojai suite, Brooke invited Dr. Isabel back for further probing. Drawing out each detail in painful suspense, Brooke explained that she was indeed drawn to the man that she had the affair with. They were connected like she had never been connected to a man before. She knew he felt the same way. But their relationship could never be because….because he…because he was …because he was married….because he was married to….because he was married to her….because he was married to her daughter! Dr. Isabel closed her eyes at that bit of news. (My eye closed too - because I dozed off.)

And at Forrester Creations, Ridge told Rick and Amber that he had indeed stopped production of the Brooke's Bedroom line. Rick demanded to know the reason. Ridge explained that the reputation of Forrester Creations had been sullied by the lingerie line. They had always stood for elegance and refinement. They had lately been known for selling underwear in department stores. Rick argued that the line made a lot of money for the company. He wanted to see Ridge's numbers and projections for profits once the Bedroom line was gone. Ridge said he did not have to justify his reasons to Rick. Rick asked if Taylor and Stephanie had put him up to the decision. Ridge was insulted and said he had made the move for the good of Forrester Creations. It was not a personal assault against Brooke. Rick disagreed and said he had always thought Ridge was cool, but this action was not cool at all Amber piped up and said she didn't think it was very cool either. Ridge said it was really none of Amber's business and she should stay out of it. Rick instructed Ridge to treat his wife with respect. Ridge was fed up and told Rick he didn't need a "wet behind the ears business student" to tell him how to run the company. Ridge told his youngest brother to go back to school and get out of his office! Rick and Amber walked to the door, but Rick turned around and scowled at Ridge.

Ooh! I'm scared!

Episode Date: Tuesday, January 8, 2002

At the Ojai Spa, the conversation between Brooke and Dr. Isabel continued. Without even needing to listen to the repetitive scene, Brooke said she was ashamed of what she had done. It was unforgivable and nothing Dr. Isabel could say would make her feel any better. (By the way, were you aware that Brooke slept with her daughter's husband and is now pregnant with his child? Just in case you didn't know that, Brooke repeated it several times.) Brooke wondered what she would tell her family when her pregnancy became apparent and what she would tell her new baby when he/she got old enough to inquire about his/her father. Dr. Isabel said Brooke had to stop worrying about the future and deal with the present. Dr. Isabel could tell that Brooke loved her children. She was not an evil person and needed to learn to love herself again.

Meanwhile, at the Malibu Beach house, Deacon and Bridget had apparently had a little afternoon delight, then got re-dressed and made out some more on the couch. Rick and Amber showed up to tell Bridget about Ridge pulling the Brooke's Bedroom line. Amber and Bridget thought they should call Brooke and fill her in. Rick decided it would be best to let Brooke recover. He thought they could handle the situation on their own. Deacon told Rick that it was really none of his business, but he didn't think Ridge should be able to get away with taking over everything. Rick assured everyone that he would not take this incident sitting down. He would make sure that all of Forrester Creations knew he was displeased with dumping the trashy underwear. Bridget, Amber, and Deacon all pledged to stand behind Rick.

In Eric's office, Stephanie and her husband discussed the end of Brooke's Bedroom. They agreed it was a good idea, but Stephanie worried it might cause trouble in the family. Stephanie mentioned how she thought something really bad was up with Brooke. She had seemed so defeated when she left for her retreat. Ridge barged into the office and told his parents that Rick was unhappy with stopping the lingerie line. Ridge said if he was in charge, he wanted his decisions to be accepted and for Rick to treat him with respect. Eric assured Ridge that Rick would come around. After Ridge left the office, Stephanie and Eric remembered that Tony and Kristen were home from Africa. They were uncertain about the success of their adoption of Zende, but were anxious to meet the boy that had captured their hearts.

At that moment, Zende rode in a limousine with Tony and Kristen from the airport to the beach house. He was impressed with the palm trees and all the huge houses. When the trio arrived home, Zende could not believe the size of the house, his own room, and the beach and ocean. The child explained that he had always hoped he would be adopted and have a happy home, but the chances of older children like him being picked was slim. He was happy that Kristen and Tony had chosen him. Kristen thanked Zende for allowing them to adopt him. They loved him and wanted to be his mom and dad. Zende was overjoyed at the thought. He hugged the couple and told them that he loved them too.

Sometimes even a cynic like me can be moved by a simple hug.

Episode Date: Wednesday, January 9, 2002

On a bright new morning in Los Angeles, Eric visited Tony and Kristen's beach house and met Zende. The two hit it off immediately when Eric requested that Zende call him "grandpa." Tony returned home with groceries to make breakfast. Both he and Kristen noticed the refrigerator was very full and started to clean it out by throwing away expired milk, stale bread, and leftovers so old they were first eaten when Sally had only enough red hair for one woman. Zende was shocked to see them wasting food and explained that he often had to beg for enough to eat. Kristen and Tony apologized for their insensitivity and promised to not waste food in the future. Eric told the boy that all of them had a lot to learn from him. Eric hoped he would be patient as they tried to be the great family he deserved.

Over in Bel Air, Ridge awoke Taylor with breakfast in bed. She figured he was thanking her for the sex-capades they had enjoyed the night before. Although randy Ridge agreed it had been monumental, he was actually buttering her up so she would accept a position on the board at Forrester. He explained that she shared his vision for the company, she was a member of their target demographic, and he valued her opinion. Taylor warned Ridge that she would not always agree with him if she were asked to vote. Ridge didn't think that was likely to happen, but said he would always respect what she had to say. Taylor then worried how Rick would react to her being a new board member. He might think Ridge was stacking the deck against him and Brooke. Ridge said to forget about Rick. He needed "a swift kick in the rear." After a couple of strawberries, Taylor agreed to join the board if the family voted her in.

Up in Ojai, Brooke wandered around her room and patted her stomach. She told her baby that she would try to hide her pregnancy from the family as long as possible so Deacon could not figure out it was his child. Then Rick showed up at the door. He asked how she was doing and noticed a large garment bag on the couch. He was happy that she had found the desire to go shopping until he noticed the clothes were from a maternity store. Thinking quickly, Brooke said she had purchased the prego-clothes for Amber. (Good answer, Brooke! Good answer!) Rick then broke the news that Ridge was power-happy as CEO and had dumped the Brooke's Bedroom line. Rick was certain that Ridge wanted to take over the company with Stephanie and Taylor's help and get rid of all of Brooke's work. Brooke was upset and agreed that it seemed the Forresters were trying to make it appear as if she had never existed. Rick told his mother that he knew she was depressed, but perhaps she could come back and take control of the company again. Maybe that was what she needed to feel like herself again. Brooke cried that she could barely take care of herself, let alone run a huge company. Brooke wept and apologized for letting Rick down. He was once again having to pay for all her mistakes. Rick assured his mother that he didn't feel like she was letting him down. He would try and handle the situation himself.

Back in Los Angeles, Amber had Stephanie over to Brooke's house for tea. When the subject of Brooke came up, Stephanie said she admired Rick's dedication to his mother, but she felt his emotions were clouding his judgment. Amber suggested that Stephanie hate for Brooke was clouding her own judgment. Stephanie said she knew Rick was upset about Ridge's decision, but he would one day learn that it was best for the company in the long run. When Stephanie suggested Amber didn't need to worry about the business, Amber replied that is was her and Rick's company too. Stephanie pointed out that she and Eric had started the company from nothing and probably knew better what would work than a young student like Rick. Amber was upset that Stephanie continued to treat Rick like a child. Stephanie apologized for upsetting Amber and they made up.

After Stephanie left, Rick called Amber to tell her that Brooke would not be coming home. But he had a plan. He as going to attend the next board meeting and show the family that Rick Forrester had grown up. They wouldn't know what hit them.

Richard Dawson should be showing up soon because there's going to be a Family Feud!

Episode Date: Thursday, January 10, 2002

Massimo greeted his old friend Yves in his office. After catching up on their lives, Yves let us all know that he worked for Forrester International and was going to the board meeting. (So, apparently, it is yet another new day.) Massimo told Yves that he was very interested in the new regime at Forrester Creations. Yves wondered if his old friend was interested in trying to buy the fashion house. Massimo said he was only interested in the new CEO. Yves knew that Ridge was a fantastic CEO and could understand why Mass would have a business interest and perhaps want to hire him away. Massimo instructed Yves to pay attention at the board meeting and report back to him everything that had happened.

At Brooke's house, Amber woke Rick up. He had been boning up on the family business all night long. She knew he would knock them dead at that board meeting. Rick put on a suit and tie and prepared to leave for the meeting. Amber reminded him that he had as much right to be at the meeting as anyone else. Rick vowed to defend the company that his mother had worked to build up.

In Ridge's office at Forrester Creations, he told Taylor to prepare for the meeting where she would be added to the Board of Directors. (Of course this had to be done between kisses. Can't this couple keep their hands off each other?) Taylor worried that Ridge had not discussed his plans to add her to the decision making team with Brooke or Rick. Ridge said he was in charge and he'd decide what was best for the company.

In Eric's office, Stephanie, Eric, Thorne, and Kristen discussed Zende's arrival. Stephanie couldn't wait to meet him. When Ridge and Taylor arrived, Megan passed out the agendas and the meeting began. Ridge announced that Forrester was headed in a new direction. The Bedroom line had been dropped and haute couture was going to be their main emphasis. Kristen was surprised at the development and wondered what Brooke had thought of the cancellation. Ridge said he had not discussed the move with Brooke and frankly didn't care what her opinion might be. Megan said that Brooke did know of the change because Rick had visited her the previous day and told her. However, Brooke was still no in a place to fight for what she believed in. She needed more rest and relaxation.

Ridge then suggested that a new seat be added to the board of directors. He thought they needed another woman, a stylish woman, a professional woman, a smart woman, a pretty woman. (He wants Julia Roberts on the board?) Everyone agreed that Ridge had a good idea but where would they ever find such a super woman? Ridge said that Taylor would be perfect for the job! Eric and Stephanie heartily agreed, but Thorne and Kristen wondered if Brooke would approve. Again, Ridge said Brooke had left him in charge and he would do what he thought was best. Even though Taylor offered to leave and let the family discuss the idea, Ridge forced an immediate vote. No one disagreed and Taylor was on the board. (My that was easy, wasn't it?)

But don't get too comfortable. Rick entered the office. Ridge was very condescending and told him to leave since he was not a board member and not on the agenda. Rick informed his older brother that he was there to represent the interests of Brooke Logan. Mocking Rick, Ridge asked if he had power of attorney or a "note from his mommy." Ridge told Rick to get out!

But Rick said he understood why Ridge was nervous. His (Rick's) family owned more than half of the company. That meant that they owned Ridge!

Ouch! That really had to hurt, didn't it?

Episode Date: Friday, January 11, 2002

At the Malibu Beach house, Deacon prepared for a business trip to Las Vegas where he told Bridget he was going to meet with venture capitalists who might invest in future nightclubs. He said he'd probably be gone one night. As Deacon got ready to leave, he grabbed a cookie off a plate full of cookies on the coffee table and put it in his mouth. (See accompanying screen capture.) Bridget protested his choice of breakfasts and grabbed the cookie from between his teeth - AND PUT IT BACK ON THE PLATE! GROSS! (And what was an uncovered plate of home-baked cookies doing on the coffee table first thing in the morning anyway?) Bridget insisted that she make a yogurt smoothie for Deacon's breakfast and he could drink it on his trip to the airport. (Uh oh! I hope she didn't get the recipe from Amber. Remember when she made the medicated smoothies for Becky?) While Bridget was in the kitchen, Deacon pulled a scrap of paper from his pocket that had the directions to Ojai on it. Hey, he's not going to Las Vegas at all! He's going to see Brooke!

Later, Deacon drove his car and sipped his yogurt smoothie. Apparently, it wasn't very tasty because he chucked it out the window and lit a cigarette. (Here's how we know Deacon is a bad boy. 1. He's always dressed in black. 2. He smokes. 3. He's a litterbug.) As he drove, he told himself that he shouldn't be visiting Brooke, but he was drawn to her.

Up at Ojai, Brooke wandered around her room worrying about her predicament. She even imagined a naked Deacon in bed beaconing her to him. Dr. Isabel dropped by and warned Brooke not to cover her feelings for Deacon with concern about Rick's taking on the Forrester board. Later, Brooke wondered aloud what she was going to do when Deacon appeared in her room. (If this is really happening, how did he get in her suite?) Brooke ordered Deacon to leave. He asked why she was afraid of him. Brooke screamed that she wasn't afraid of him at all. Deacon was glad to hear that because he didn't plan to leave until she told him what was going on.

Back at the Malibu Beach house, Amber arrived and asked if Deacon could pick up Little Eric at pre-school. Bridget told Amber of Deacon's "business trip to Las Vegas." Amber was anxious to hear from Rick about how the board meeting had gone. Bridget thought it might be better for Connor to handle the Forrester board, but Amber knew Rick would stand up for Brooke's rights.

But at the board meeting, Ridge continued to order Rick to leave because he was not a member of the board of directors. Rick pointed out that Taylor was present and she was not a member of the board. Ridge nastily relayed that she had just been voted on as a member. Rick cried that Ridge was obviously stacking the deck with "yes men" so he could always get his way. Rick wanted his side of the family to be represented. Eric said there were no sides in the matter, it was a family business. Rick then took a seat and said he was a member of the family and therefore welcome. Rick said that he was a business major and had more business training than Ridge ever got in design school. Ridge raised his eyebrows. He obviously had a plan.

Yves then arrived. He was introduced as the financial manager of Forrester International. Rick and Ridge asked Yves questions about the impact of the discontinuation of Brooke's Bedroom line. Yves said there were indications that some customers were disappointed, but the haute couture orders had spiked by 17%. As the discussion continued, the conversation grew very technical with lots of finance, accounting, and business terms. Rick was obviously totally out of his league. He didn't understand any of the convoluted conversation. (Don't worry Rick, neither did I. In fact, I have a suspicion that they were just making it all up.) Rick made a fatal error and said he didn't understand what any of this had to do with Brooke's Bedroom Line.

Ridge exploded and said that was exactly the point. Rick didn't understand anything about the business. He was a kid and should go back to the playground while the adults made him a lot of money! (Oh! That's just cruel, but really, really funny.) Ridge warned that if Rick ever tried another stunt like this, Ridge would roll right over him. Embarrassed and very angry, Rick stormed out of the room and slammed the door. Stephanie, Taylor, Thorne, Eric, and Kristen all rolled their eyes.

Gosh! I love this show!

Episode Date: Monday, January 14, 2002

At Massimo's office, Yves returned and told the tycoon what had happened at the Forrester board meeting. He explained how Ridge had humiliated Rick and made it clear that he was in charge. Massimo was obviously impressed with Ridge's actions, but still felt he would never truly have the reigns without controlling interest in the company.

Over at Insomnia, Ridge and Taylor enjoyed some mocha-chinos. Taylor was concerned about the way Ridge had treated Rick. She reminded him that Rick was not the enemy. The two of them were brothers. She thought Ridge should help train Rick so he could become an asset to the company instead of a potential problem. Taylor made a hasty exit (she must have had a shrink emergency) and left Ridge alone to guzzle caffeine. Suddenly, Massimo appeared at Ridge's table and made knowing comments about the Forrester board meeting. Ridge assumed Mass had been talking to Stephanie to get such details. Ridge warned him to steer clear of is mother. Massimo said he realized Stephanie's heart lay with Eric, but he still wanted to help Ridge by offering him advice. He knew that Ridge would never truly be happy until he had controlling interest where he worked. Mass suggested that Ridge start his own company where he could have complete control. Infuriated, Ridge told Mass that he hated everything about him and to steer clear of the entire Forrester family. (Well, that didn't go to well, did it?)

At the Malibu Beach house, Bridget created home-made lattes for herself and Amber. (As if that wasn't boring enough, we learned they were as good as those at Insomnia, yet they were decaf because of Amber's pregnancy. Big yawn!) Rick arrived and let the two ladies know what had happened at the board meeting. He had never been so embarrassed and now knew that Ridge was trying to edge him and Bridget out of the company. Bridget found it hard to believe that Ridge would behave so terribly. Amber sided with Rick and they thought something had to be done. Rick said he now knew that Ridge could be cutthroat. Rick said he was going to have to teach his big brother a lesson. (Ooh! I'm so scared.)

Up or out or over or down in Ojai (I've got to look at a map and find it), Deacon told Brooke he would not leave until she told him what was wrong. Brooke said she was recovering from her wasted life. She had spent too many years chasing after a man that cared nothing for her. Her next marriage didn't stand a chance because she was in love her husband's brother. And to top it off, she betrayed her own daughter by sleeping with her husband! (You know, when she puts it all together like that, it really does sound pathetic.) Brooke hinted that things were even worse, but didn't go into details. Deacon told Brooke that they had an affair and they simply had to forget it. Brooke laughed that it would probably be easy for him to that. Deacon railed that he now understood why Brooke was so upset. She thought their time together had meant nothing to him - that is was just a roll in the hay. But she was wrong. Deacon said she had touched him. (Yes, I think we saw that happen.) He was almost addicted to her. He couldn't think of any other way to explain it.

Deacon told Brooke that he loved her.

Gulp!

Episode Date: Tuesday, January 15, 2002

Taylor and Ridge arrived at Tony and Kristen's beach house with their now much older children. There's a new Thomas, Phoebe, and Steffy. (Thomas should have just turned 4. He now looks to be about 10 or so. The twins would have turned 2 last fall. The new little girls look to be 6 years old! What I love is that Little Eric was born 8 months before Phoebe and Steffy. I doubt he's been aged, because his parents have to stay young. I love this stuff.) Everyone met Zende, ate pizza, and played football. It was a great day and all the kids got along famously. Later, Kristen sat by Zende's bed where he rested with a bellyache from eating too much pepperoni pizza. He couldn't believe he now actually had a family. Kristen said she thanked God everyday for having Zende in her life.

Amber stopped by The Lair to see her good friend, that sassy waitress Alex. Amber figured business must be good if Deacon's boss sent him to Las Vegas to meet with investors. Alex said she knew nothing of Deacon taking a business trip and highly doubted their boss would send him on one. Amber pretended she must have misunderstood Deacon's story, but clearly remembered what Bridget had told her about the trip. Amber wondered where Deacon was…and who he was with.

I'll tell you where he is, Amber. Deacon had just confessed his love for Brooke at the Ojai Spa! Brooke told Deacon that she couldn't listen to him say such a thing. Deacon asked Brooke to deny that she felt the same way. Brooke turned away, put her hands on her stomach (she's pregnant, you know), and wept that she did indeed love Deacon. The couple hugged and Deacon asked if Brooke didn't feel better now that she admitted the truth. Brooke said she did, but Bridget could never find out their true feelings for each other. Deacon said he had vowed to Bridget that he would stay faithful to her and he intended to keep that promise. But Deacon said he had never felt for a woman as he felt for Brooke. They connected. They understood each other. Brooke said she also felt special towards Deacon, but they had to put their feelings aside in order to protect Bridget. Deacon agreed and told Brooke that it was time for her to return to Los Angeles. Brooke said she still had some things to work out. Deacon chastised Brooke for keeping secrets. If they were to try and hold their lives together, they had to be honest with each other. Brooke asked Deacon to simply trust her.

There was a knock on the door. It was Susan the concierge. Brooke told Deacon he had to leave. They kissed - on the lips, no less - goodbye. Brooke instructed Deacon to leave by way of the terrace. After Deacon left, Susan entered and explained she had brought Brooke some prenatal vitamins for her baby. Brooke thanked her and Susan left.

But guess what! That's right! Deacon hadn't really left. He heard the line about Brooke's baby! He came back into the room and asked a stunned Brooke if it was true. Was she really pregnant?

Oh, this is really, really good.

Kristen and Tony got ready for bed in their bedroom. They agreed that Zende seemed to get along well with Ridge, Taylor, and his cousins. Zende knocked on the door and said he had a bad dream. He dreamed that Kristen and Tony took him back to the orphanage. The loving parents assured their son that they would always love him and he was going to be their child for the rest of their lives. He was safe with them. Zende asked if his friends back in Africa would get adopted like him. Tony suggested they pray that such a thing did happen. Zende fell asleep on the chaise lounge in Kristen and Tony's bedroom. He did wake up long enough to see his parents hug and kiss. It brought a smile to his face. (But you'd think they could afford him some higher quality pajamas. The plaids didn't meet at the front where the shirt buttoned! You'd think a fashion designer would pay attention to such things.)

Meanwhile, Amber returned to the Malibu Beach house to flesh out her suspicion that Deacon was not telling Bridget the truth. Sure enough, Bridget was convinced that Deacon was on a business trip to Las Vegas. Amber told her sister-in-law that she was impressed with the trust she had for her husband. Bridget was certain that Deacon was devoted to her. He had cheated on her once, but she knew those days were over.

But up at Ojai (I've learned it is north of Los Angeles), Deacon had deduced that Brooke was pregnant. Miss Logan tried to deny the truth by saying the prenatal vitamins were for Amber, but was finally forced to fess up. Deacon was blown away to learn that Brooke was carrying his child. He was upset that Brooke had thought she could hide the facts from him. She shouldn't have to go through this alone. Brooke said she thought it would only complicate matters further is Deacon knew the truth. He'd also have to keep the secret from Bridget. Brooke insisted that her daughter not get hurt by her own horrible mistake. The conversation was interrupted by Bridget calling Deacon on his cell phone. Deacon told his wife he would return home soon. Deacon then said there was really only one solution to the problem. The woman he loved was pregnant with his baby. Bridget would be upset, but in time she would get over the hurt and forgive both of them. Bridget was a mature, intelligent woman. She didn't need him, but his unborn child did. He planned to return to Los Angeles with Brooke and ask Bridget for a divorce. He was going to help Brooke with her pregnancy and they would be together. Brooke collapsed into tears in Deacon's arms.

Yeah, sure. It's just going to be as easy as that.

Episode Date: Thursday, January 17, 2002

Ridge and Taylor looked at some of Ridge's new designs in his office at Forrester Creations. After the models left, Taylor wondered if Ridge had been too hard on Rick at the board meeting. Ridge said he intended to teach Rick a lesson. Rick was a college kid that needed to stay in school and when he graduated, he needed to pay his dues just as Ridge had done. Taylor worried that Rick would be angry about what had happened and try to retaliate. Ridge said he was certain Rick would not show his face around Forrester for a while and that his mother could calm Rick down.

Over at Brooke's house, Rick poured over sketches and file folders and important looking documents in the living room. Amber worried that his humiliation at Ridge's hands would discourage him. Rick announced that he was more determined than ever to learn to run the company. The couple agreed that they were both worried about Brooke and hoped she would soon return to her CEO position at Forrester. Amber went upstairs. There was a knock on the door. It was Stephanie. She said she had come to check on Rick and inquire about Brooke's progress. Rick voiced his doubts of Stephanie's sincerity. Suddenly, Amber appeared at the top of the stairs in a black cocktail dress, long black gloves, sunglasses, and a cigarette holder! She pranced around (unaware that Stephanie was watching) and shouted that she was the new head designer at Forrester, Rick was the new CEO, and all the other Forresters should make way for the new blood. Stephanie thought it was charming that the young kids were playing a fantasy, but reminded them that actually running the company was a serious business. Rick and Amber said they only needed to lighten the mood since they were the only ones concerned about Brooke's well being. Stephanie said she was truly concerned about Brooke as well. When Amber scoffed at that notion, Stephanie said "Keep a civil tongue in your head, Missy." (Missy, I love calling someone Missy! That is so cool.) Rick asked Stephanie to leave. Alone with Amber, Rick said he knew Brooke would do anything for her children.

Yep, she sure would. Up in Ojai, Deacon told Brooke that he wanted to take her to Los Angeles that night. They would tell Bridget what had happened between them. He had thought his marriage to Bridget was over, he had talked to Brooke about his decision, they discussed the future, they spent the night together, Brooke got pregnant. (Well, that is how it happened, but I'm not sure anyone will think that it's really all that wonderful.)
Deacon said he would then divorce Bridget and marry Brooke. Brooke was ecstatic at the notion, but tried to make Deacon realize it could never happen. They agreed they loved each other. Brooke said she would do anything to be with Deacon - anything except one thing. And that was abandon her children. She could not allow Rick and Bridget to hate her and she could not allow her unborn child to be raised in shame without the love of his/her siblings. Deacon cried as he realized Brooke was right.

Episode Date: Friday, January 18, 2002

Amber returned to The Lair to gather more information from sassy cocktail waitress, Alex. (Excuse me, wasn't Amber supposed to be taking it easy during her "difficult" pregnancy? She seems to be running all of the city these days.) Alex confirmed that Deacon had definitely not been sent on a business trip. She had asked her boss personally. Amber admitted that Deacon had lied to Bridget concerning his whereabouts. Alex and Amber figured that Deacon must be getting it on with another woman. Alex said that Deacon never flirted while working at the bar, but did remember that he had been absent from work while Bridget was up at the Big Bear cabin with her sorority sisters. Amber wondered who the mystery woman might be - and was he with her right now?

Meanwhile, Bridget took a nap on the couch of the Malibu Beach house and dreamed of Deacon returning home with a bouquet of roses and teddy bear to celebrate their love. Her fantasy was interrupted by a visit from Stephanie. La Forrester said Rick and Amber were living in a dream world of taking over Forrester Creations. Stephanie said Rick would never be CEO of the company. Bridget argued that Rick may indeed one day run Forrester and he was only trying to look after their mother's best interests. Stephanie replied that CEOs of major corporations did not appoint people to take over for them when they went away for a short time. Bridget railed at Stephanie for taking advantage of Brooke's absence. She thought it was shameful what Ridge, Eric, and Stephanie had done to Brooke's hard work once she was gone. Stephanie said they were doing what was best for the company and were looking to Bridget for support. Bridget made it clear that she would always side with her mother. Brooke had always supported her and there was nothing Brooke would not do for her daughter. (Oh, sweet Bridget, how right you are.)

And up in Ojai, Brooke and Deacon cuddled by the fire. They agreed on the correct plan of action, but Deacon did not know if he would be able to deny his feelings for Brooke and pretend that she was not having his child. Brooke said he had to do just that. They could not destroy Bridget's life, or create a life of shame for their unborn baby. Deacon complained that Brooke brought light to his dark life. (Buy a flashlight, buddy.) Before leaving, Deacon knelt down and placed his check against Brooke's belly. He told his child that he would always be close by looking out for him/her. (It was a bit much, really.) As Brooke cried, Deacon left the room. Brooke's tears turned into sobs as she collapsed onto the couch.

Episode Date: Monday, January 21, 2002

Ridge and Stephanie sat in his office and discussed that day's board meeting. (Now didn't they just have aboard meeting yesterday or the day before? How many board meetings does this company need anyway? I've never seen them have a board meeting once in the past ten years. Now they have one every day? What's that about?) Stephanie noticed some very heavy subjects on the agenda. (Foreign currency. Exchange rates. The Euro-dollar. Does not sound very interesting to me.) Ridge admitted that he devised the difficult subjects to keep Rick away from the meeting. Eric entered the office and said he thought Ridge had made his point. There was no need to further humiliate Rick. Ridge said he just wanted to make sure Rick didn't try to wriggle into the company any further. There was no place for his petulant schoolboy attitude. Stephanie said she didn't think Rick would show his face at this meeting.

Over at Brooke's house, Rick received the meeting agenda and told Amber that Ridge had been right. He was in way over his head. Amber told her husband not to give up. That was exactly what Ridge wanted him to do. (And by the way, Amber was wearing yet another dead animal-esque sweater. Is there a maternity shop that specializes in fur around the corner?) Rick said he couldn't show up at the meeting and have his lack of business knowledge brought up again. He would never be ready for the meeting that afternoon. But look! There in his stack of money reports was a note from Massimo asking him to visit his office. Rick decided to go see Mass to tell him to stay away from his family.

And at that moment, Massimo chatted with Sally in his office. He told the wily redhead that he wanted more than ever to tell Ridge that he was his father. But he had to make Ridge see that his future lied with his company and not at Forrester Creations. Rick and Bridget held the majority of stock and once Rick knew enough to run the company, they would edge Ridge out altogether. Sally wondered if Mojo had a plan. Indeed he did. He was planning to help Rick learn the business so he would edge Ridge out sooner and into Mass's waiting arms. Heidi buzzed Mass to tell him Rick was on his way. Sally wished her beau luck and left.

Rick arrived with a big chip on his shoulder. He told Massimo that he only stopped by to tell him to leave his family alone. Mass said he respected the way Rick was protecting his family and knew about Rick's trouble with the Forrester board. He explained that he could help Rick learn the business fast. In four months, he could assist Rick in taking over the company! Rick was dubious to say the least, but yet intrigued. What did Massimo get out this arrangement, Rick wondered. Massimo said he would be happy to know that the rightful son was going to take of the family business. (Of course, he was meaning his own son and his own company.) As Rick pondered his response, Massimo pulled out that darn old issue of Eye On Fashion and stroked Ridge's face. (Now that's just icky.)

Episode Date: Tuesday, January 22, 2002

Obviously, Rick had decided to take Massimo up on his offer of mentoring. Massimo drilled Rick on the finer points of international finance and gave him suggestions on what to say for each topic on the agenda. Rick did his best to keep up and took copious notes. Although he was still uncertain of Massimo's reasons for helping him, Rick thanked Mass for his help and sped out the door for the board meeting. After Rick had left, sexy secretary Heidi arrived with a delivery from the Forrester photos lab. Although Heidi was curious of the contents, Mass simply explained that he had a friend at the photo lab. (perhaps Giovanni? Hey! Whatever happened to him? He was a hottie!) Heidi left and Massimo pulled a photo of Stephanie and Ridge from the envelope. (What? The Forrester photo lab is in charge of high fashion photography AND family portraits?) Massimo pulled out a nearby double photo frame. There was a picture of him in one side. He placed the photo of Ridge and his mother in the other side. He hoped that one day the family would all be together. (I nearly gagged.)

Bridget paid a visit to Amber at Brooke's house. Amber told her sister-in-law that she was worried because Rick had, at Massimo Marone's invitation, gone to the bad guy's office. She wasn't sure why he had been invited, but knew that Rick had gone there to tell the thug to stay away from the family. Amber was upset because she thought Rick should be boning up for the board meeting that day. She was certain that Ridge had chosen difficult topics for that day's meeting to intimidate Rick. Amber told Bridget that all the Forresters were trying to push Rick and Bridget's interests out of the picture. Rick had to defend their interests. The Rick called from his cell phone on his way to the board meeting. He explained how Massimo had tutored him and got him up to speed for the meeting. Amber was dubious and wondered what Mass's angle might be. Rick assured his wife that if Mass had set him up, he'd break the man's neck. (My, that's certainly violent, Rick.)

In Eric's office at Forrester Creations, Ridge and Taylor prepared for another board meeting. Taylor suggested that Ridge go a little easy on Rick this time, but Ridge didn't think his half brother would even bother to show up. Chuck Williams entered the office. He was some hot shot financial dude that Ridge asked to join the meeting. He told Chuck about Rick's interference and told him to make a fool of Rick if he should come to the meeting. Chuck snidely agreed. Eric, Stephanie, Thorne, and Megan entered the office for the meeting. Everyone was happy to see Chuck. Just as the meeting was getting started, Rick busted through the doors. Ridge tried to dissuade him from staying, but Rick said he was anxious to hear the things Chuck had to say. Ridge leaned over to Chuck and reminded him of their plan. (Evil, I tell you, evil!)

Episode Date: Wednesday, January 23, 2002

Up at the Ojai spa, Brooke chatted with Dr. Isabel and explained that she had told Deacon she was pregnant with his child. She explained that his initial reaction had been to ask her to marry him. Brooke explained that she had told Deacon that could never happen. He agreed to never reveal her secret. If he did , she would never be able to see her children again and their unborn child would live in a life of scandal. Dr. Isabel thought Brooke should then be able to return to Los Angeles. Brooke said she was not ready to face the questions of her now showing pregnancy. Dr. Isabel guessed that Brooke's reluctance had more to deal with her forbidden love for Deacon than anything else. (Brooke cried, of course.)

At the same time, Deacon returned to the Malibu Beach house and found Bridget was not home. He immediately went to the mantle and picked up that ancient BeLieF press conference photo of Brooke (that is now framed!) and remembered learning that she is carrying his child. Bridget returned home and was saddened to learn that Deacon's meeting had not gone as he planned. (He, of course, was meaning his proposal to Brooke.) Deacon then said his priorities had changed. Bridget was everything to him and he would spend all his life devoted to her. As they embraced, Deacon's eyes were drawn once again to that stupid BeLieF press conference photo.

And elsewhere, Amber stormed into Massimo's office. She wanted to know why he had coached Rick for the Forrester board meeting. She figured he had fed her husband false information to make him fail. Massimo was impressed with Amber's tenacity and assured her he intended only to help Rick realize his full potential. Amber didn't buy Mass's song and dance and wanted to learn her his true agenda.

And over in Eric's office at Forrester Creations, another board meeting was set to begin. Rick was confident as he sat down next to Chuck Wallace, the Forrester accountant. Ridge started the meeting and wrote Chuck a note that instructed him to "bring Rick down." But Rick pulled the rug out from under everyone's feet. He suggested they not bring Forrester International profits to America to avoid paying taxes twice. (Massimo had told him that!) Invest them in Europe instead. Rick then proposed moving the actual workings of Forrester to Nevada to avoid paying state income tax. (Massimo had pointed out that Nevada had no state income tax. They'd save millions!) Finally, he said they had to create a limited liability corporation for the company jet. (Again, Massimo's suggestion so the company would not lose everything the jet every crashed.) Everyone was impressed with Rick's newfound knowledge. After the meeting Thorne, Chuck, and Eric all congratulated Rick. Ridge mumbled to Taylor and Stephanie that Rick had set them up. He didn't know how or why, but he intended to find out. He then turned and engaged in a stare down with Rick.

This is where the heinous technical difficulty occured. I'm so sorry that I have no idea what happened today. Keep reading.....you can kind of fill in the pieces.

Episode Date: Friday, January 25, 2002

Megan visited Brooke at the Ojai Spa. She let Brooke know that Deacon had told her he knew about Brooke being pregnant with his child. Brooke said Deacon had agreed to keep his paternity a secret. Megan said that proved how much Deacon loved Brooke. Megan thought Brooke should not deny the love they had for each other and not deny her child the right to know his or her father. Brooke said there was no other way for the situation to play out. If the truth was revealed, Brooke would lose the love and respect of Bridget and Rick and her unborn child would then live a life of shame. There was no other way to solve this problem. (Excuse me, haven't we heard this conversation a several times before? It was just Brooke and Deacon or Brooke and Dr. Isabel. Let's move on, shall we?)

In Los Angeles, Deacon prepared a fancy dinner for Bridget on the roof of The Lair. (Fancy? Hardly! He made his famous chili. It's a secret recipe. Big Deal!) After a cheesy dance to Elvis's "Vegas Wedding Bells" (it reminded Bridget of their Las Vegas wedding), Bridget said she had never felt so content. She only wished her mother could find such happiness. Deacon stiffened at the mention of Brooke's name. Bridget wondered if Thorne would get back together with her mother. Deacon didn't think it was likely, but Bridget explained that Brooke had a certain hold over men. (Oh, honey, you're preaching to the choir.) Bridget went to Deacon's old apartment to get ready for a steamy session of love making while Deacon cleaned up the chili dishes. Alone on the roof, Deacon imagined coaching Brooke through the birth of their daughter. But Thorne rushed into the delivery room and said he was going to be the child's father. That was what they had agree upon. Deacon said he had changed his mind. He could not abandon his daughter. Brooke pleaded with Deacon to leave. That would be the best for everyone. Deacon was brought back to reality by an impatient Bridget wearing nothing but a fur coat returned to the roof. She wanted to get it on and right away.

Massimo and Sally dined at the Café Russe and spotted Ridge and Taylor at another table. Mass explained that he knew Ridge was upset about Rick gaining knowledge of business. (With Mass's help, I might add.) But he knew that in the end Ridge would thank him for helping him realize his full potential. Ridge noticed Massimo across the room and told Taylor that he would never let the thug get to him. Minutes later, Massimo had a very expensive bottle of champagne delivered to Ridge and Taylor's table. A note with the bottle read 'Here's to better times." Ridge allowed the waiter to pop the cork, but grabbed the bottle and dumped the champagne into the ice bucket. Taylor was embarrassed as Ridge grabbed her and the exited the restaurant. Massimo seemed disappointed. (What an idiot! He may be smart, but he sure is thick.)

Episode Date: Monday, January 28, 2002

It was an interesting episode with only 3 characters. Be sure you're sitting down. It was a doozey!

Sally and Massimo arrived at Sally's apartment after their dinner at the Café Russe. Massimo was disappointed he did not get any recognition of gratitude from Ridge. Sally said that was to be expected from a Forrester. She invited Mass into the apartment to help make him feel better. They went inside and found Darla their with two work men. (OK, there were technically more than 3 characters on today, but for only a few seconds.) Sally thanked Darla for helping her out and ushered everyone out the door. There were drop cloths around the room. (What did she have up her sleeve?)

Sally told Massimo that she would love to tell Stephanie the truth about Ridge's parentage, but she had promised Mass that she would not do that. Sally instead said that she'd like to help Mass feel better. He needed to forget about Stephanie. Sally thought she was much more to Mass's liking and told him she would prove it. Sally poured some Mojo juice for both of them. (Apparently Mojo juice is a rum beverage that flushed Sally so much she had to fan her face with her hand. I wonder if she'd share the recipe?) Sally went to her bedroom to change clothes.

Meanwhile, Stephanie couldn't sleep and got out of bed at the Forrester mansion. She went to a storage cabinet and pulled out a box that contained a dried corsage, letters wrapped in ribbon and an old photo of her and Massimo. (Well, I guess that's who it was supposed to be. It was obviously doctored in Photoshop.) She wondered why she had kept all the items when she received a phone call from Sally. The wacky redhead just wanted Stephanie to know that she was planning a night of romance with Massimo. She slyly held the phone behind her back while asking Mass to turn on some music so La Forrester would know for sure that he was there. After Sally hung up, Stephanie couldn't believe Massimo would stoop so low as to sleep with Sally.

Back at Sally's apartment, Massimo was stunned when Sally returned to the living room wearing a sexy, red, satin, dress and tossing a huge, red, feather boa. She turned on a the stereo and it blasted song "Mustang Sally." She pulled a drop cloth off the table and the room was filled with smoke! She pulled a sheet from the ceiling and revealed a shimmering mirror ball! The big finale was when she uncovered the front end of a classic Mustang with a license plate that read "Sally." As the car's headlights flashed, Sally danced provocatively. Massimo was enchanted and even encouraged Sally to "shake her booty." (I kid you not. That's what he said.) They collapsed in gales of laughter on the couch. Mass thanked Sally for the good time. Sally said they were just getting started and left to put on something even sexier.

After Sally left the room, there was a knock on the door. Massimo thought it must be more Sally's plans, but it was Stephanie! She had come to warn Mass that getting involved with Sally would be a mistake. Mass asked why Stephanie cared. Stephanie admitted that she really did care for Massimo. Outside in the hall, Stephanie kissed Massimo on the lips! It was passionate…well, they kissed. Massimo said he didn't care what it took, he would win Stephanie back. La Forrester walked away. Massimo rubbed his chin.

Hey, don't forget Sally. She's inside and ready to rumble!

Yet another heinous technical difficulty! Is it a conspiricy? After yesterday's episode, however, I think we could all use the breather.

Episode Date: Wednesday, January 29, 2002

Rick arrived home and found Amber and Little Eric playing in the living room. Rick explained that he had talked to Massimo after the Forrester board meeting. Mass hypothesized that Ridge would not take Rick's victory lying down. Instead, Ridge would probably be planning a new strategy. Amber didn't think they needed to worry about it. Rick had proven his mettle at the meeting and all his family had been proud of him. Rick agreed and said that he would ask his mother to sign over her stock to him and Bridget as soon as she got home. That way, he'd have controlling interest and be able to run the company the way he saw fit. Amber smiled and said that Ridge was going down. Perhaps Rick shouldn't wait until Brooke came home. Maybe he should visit her that night and get the stock. Amber also mentioned that Deacon had talked to her about helping Rick with his battle at Forrester. Rick wasn't too keen on the idea, but agreed that he did have a vest interest since he was Bridget's husband. (Oh, honey, he's vested much, much deeper than that.)

Over at Forrester Creations, Deacon wandered around Brooke's darkened office and gazed at photos of her. (Um, doesn't it seem strange that Brooke would have had framed photographic portraits of herself sitting on her own desk? Creepy, I think.) Bridget entered and realized that Deacon missed Brooke too. He explained that he knew how much Brooke meant to Bridget. He, therefore, wanted her to get well too. Bridget was impressed with her husband's kindness and wished her mother knew Deacon as well as she did. (Oh, honey, she knows him exactly as well as you do.) Deacon said he had visited Amber and asked her to help him get on Rick's good side. He didn't want Ridge to ruin the company Brooke had worked so hard to build and the company that was his wife's legacy. He knew Rick was smarter than him in every way, but everyone had to acknowledge that Deacon was the man you wanted to watch your back. Impressed with her husband's loyalty, Bridget embraced Deacon. The couple didn't see Ridge spying on them outside the door.

Ridge returned to his office where Thorne was waiting. Ridge explained that he had read the Forrester Company bylaws and discovered that Brooke had written an addendum when she became CEO. It said that her power of attorney would state who would vote her 51% in the event of her physical or mental incapacity. Ridge was certain they could have Brooke declared mentally unsound. However, he was uncertain who had Brooke's power of attorney. Although Rick would be the logical choice today, he was only a child when Brooke would have written the bylaw addendum. Ridge wanted to snoop in Brooke's office and find that document, but Deacon and Bridget were already there. Thorne worried they might be looking for the same information, but Ridge was certain no one but he would have the patience to read the bylaws and discover the mysterious addendum.

Shortly thereafter, Ridge and Thorne exited the office and found Bridget and Deacon waiting for the fabulous moving elevator. After some nasty barbs were exchanged, the elevator arrived. Thorne said he'd take the stairs instead, Ridge wandered down the hall, Bridget got on the elevator, but Deacon instructed her to go ahead. He was going to follow Ridge.

Ridge went into Brooke's darkened office, walked to the file cabinet, opened the top drawer, and immediately spotted a file that was labeled "Brooke Logan, Power of Attorney." (My, but that was easy to find!) He read the document (in the dark office) and discovered he had been given Brooke's voting rights. He laughed as he thought about kicking Rick out of the company! He made a photocopy of the document (who knew Brooke had a Xerox machine right there in her office?), replaced the file, and left the office without seeing Deacon lurking in the hallway.

Deacon went into Brooke's darkened office, walked to the file cabinet, opened the top drawer, and immediately spotted a file that was labeled "Brooke Logan, Power of Attorney." (Hey, didn't I just type that?) The bad boy (and we know that because he's dressed in black) didn't bother making a copy. He simply purloined the file folder and left for home. He didn't know what Ridge was up to, but he swore to find out!

The intrigue is killing me!

Episode Date: Thursday, January 31, 2002

On a sunny new morning, Amber and Rick fooled around on the couch at Brooke's house but were interrupted by Deacon pounding on the door. He rushed into the house to tell them about spying on Ridge, seeing him photocopy the file, and return it to the file cabinet. He showed Rick the file folder labeled "Brooke Logan Power of Attorney." Deacon admitted he didn't know why Ridge wanted the information, but thought Rick should know. Rick perused the document and learned that his mother had designated Ridge to handle her votes should she become incapacitated. Rick wasn't sure what it meant, but he knew it wasn't good.

Meanwhile, Sally visited Massimo in his office. She expressed how she was disappointed that he had left the "other night" before she could show him her planned grand finale. (Oh, thank goodness! They didn't have sex!) Mass said her seductive dance had worn him out. Sally made him promise that they'd get together soon. The conversation then turned to Massimo worrying about Ridge's next move at Forrester. Mass said he planned to coach Rick to take over Forrester so Ridge would be out in the cold. Then Massimo would be there to pick up the pieces and help Ridge assume his rightful position at the business of his father! Massimo then received an urgent call from Rick. The young Forrester requested to see Mojo immediately.

While Amber and Rick drove to Massimo's office, Rick called Megan. The intrepid secretary let Rick know that something big was happening at Forrester. Taylor and Ridge had been in Eric's office all morning with Jonathan the lawyer. She suggested that Rick come to Forrester as soon as possible.

Before heading to his family's business, Rick and Amber visited Massimo and showed him the copy of "Brooke Logan Power of Attorney." It took a couple of minutes, but Mass told the young couple that it appeared Ridge was going to make Brooke's 51% share of Forrester stock completely useless. (But how?) (Well, read further!)

In Eric's office, Jonathan reviewed the addendum Brooke had made to the Forrester bylaws. He agreed with Ridge that by her own definition, it would be easy to have Brooke declared incompetent to carry out her duties as CEO. He also said that "Brooke Logan Power of Attorney" handed her voting rights to Ridge and Ridge alone. Therefore, anything that required the vote of the board of directors would be decided whichever way Ridge voted. Ridge had a plan. He intended to change the bylaws of Forrester! Instead of voting being decided by the amount of stock each voter possessed, he would change the voting procedure. The current board of directors would make every vote a board decision, thus making the amount of stock any individual had moot. Ridge was the current CEO. He'd change the rules and therefore be the CEO until he retired! (Did you follow all that?)

Ridge called an emergency board meeting. Eric, Kristen, and Thorne joined Taylor, Ridge, and Jonathan in the office. Eric was concerned that Rick was not attending, but Ridge replied that he didn't want his youngest brother there. Ridge didn't even want Megan to be there but Jonathan said they should have a witness. Ridge made a powerful speech about how Eric and Stephanie (hey, where is La Forrester?) had built the company for their family. Then Brooke took over and was the majority stock holder. Ridge told the assembled Forresters that they had the opportunity to take the company back. He suggested they take the chance and do it that very day!

Hurry Rick! Ridge is making his move! Hurry!
