Darla paid a visit to the Forrester guest house to tell Rick to stop
bugging Amber to get together with him. Darla was certain the CJ and Amber
were in love. Rick corrected Darla's little love dream and explained that
Amber was dumping CJ at that very moment. He suggested Darla leave and visit
CJ because he would need her support.
At Insomnia, CJ had prepared a romantic dinner for Amber and told her
he was planning a wonderful future with her and Little Eric. Amber gently
told CJ that she was actually in love with Rick and would be moving in with
him that very night. CJ suspected that Rick had been pressuring her and
promised her custody of Little Eric. Amber replied that she truly loved
Rick. She apologized for hurting CJ and returned his engagement ring. As
you can imagine, CJ was bummed! He told her to spare him any further details
and asked her to leave.
Meanwhile, back at the guest house, Rick prepared for Amber's return
by lighting candles and throwing rose petals on the bed. When Amber got
there, they kissed, hugged, smiled, and tumbled (fully clothed) onto the
bed. As they embraced, more rose petals showered down on them. (Was Helen
up in the rafters sprinkling them down or what?)
At the hospital, the nurse was surprised that the doctor had not been
in to talk to Morgan. The nurse left to retrieve the doctor. Morgan asked
to see her baby again. Morgan repeated to Ridge and Taylor that she had
never meant to hurt the two of them by her actions. She wanted them to remain
close to her and to her baby. The doctor arrived and said she needed to
talk to Morgan.

In Brooke's office, Brooke and Thorne giggled like teenagers and talked
about getting married. Thorne wanted to elope, but Brooke wanted a big,
traditional wedding. They decided the would have to mend fences in order
to have any guests to invite to such an event. They visited Eric in his
office. He wasn't happy to see them and even unhappier when he learned they
wanted his blessing so they could get married. (Oh, such drama!)
Bad news at the hospital, however. Morgan's baby was DEAD! The doctor
explained that at seven months, the baby was to fragile to survive the fall
Morgan had taken. They had tried to save the child, but it was too late.
Morgan was devastated. Taylor cried and told Morgan that she and Ridge would
help her through this difficult time. Morgan lashed out at Taylor and screamed
that she must be relieved. Taylor had wanted the baby dead. That was why
Taylor had pushed her over the balcony. Taylor reminded Morgan that she
had not intentionally pushed her at all. Morgan continued her tirade and
yelled that she had nothing but the two dead babies Stephanie and Taylor
had left her with! Morgan screamed that she hated Taylor. The nurse then
arrived with a huge hypodermic needle full of sedative for the distraught
Miss DeWitt. (Ouch! That had to hurt.)
In the waiting area outside Morgan's room, Stephanie (who had been notified
of the situation from Megan who had heard it from Catherine, the nanny)
arrived. Taylor was upset to learn that Stephanie had also known Ridge was
the father of Morgan's child and hid the truth from her. Stephanie admitted
it had been a mistake, but she had wanted to protect her daughter-in-law.
Stephanie said the baby's death was a horrible tragedy, but encouraged Taylor
to forgive Ridge and not let Morgan win by breaking up their marriage.
The doctor arrived and said Morgan wanted to go home. Stephanie (of all
people) volunteered to take care of Morgan. (Oh yeah, that's a really good
idea.)
In her hospital room, a groggy Morgan saw Stephanie hovering over her
bed, telling her that everything had worked out for the best. Morgan then
remembered the same words from Stephanie when she had the abortion so many
years ago. Morgan cried that it had all happened again.

In Eric's office, Brooke and Thorne explained to the patriarch that they
wanted to bring the Forrester family back together. They knew if he led
the way, both Ridge and Stephanie would accept them too. (Fat chance says
Mr. Smartypants.) Brooke said that both Bridget and Rick had accepted her
union with Thorne. Eric said he gave them little chance to survive, but
admitted they had weathered a lot of difficulties so far. He suspected lesser
couples would have given up. Begrudgingly, Eric said he would not stand
in the way of their wedding. Thorne hugged his father.
At their Bel Air mansion, Taylor told Ridge that she didn't want to talk
to him, she didn't even want to look at him. She wanted him out of the house
immediately. As Ridge shuffled to the door, Catherine returned with the
children. Ridge shared a tearful good bye with them and slowly closed the
door behind him. Taylor hugged Thomas and cried.
Stephanie had taken Morgan home to her Malibu beach house. Morgan was
overcome with grief and rage. (Go for that Emmy, honey!) Morgan ranted how
Stephanie had taken her first child and Taylor had taken her second. All
Morgan had wanted was a baby and now she had nothing. Stephanie listened
with compassion but reminded Morgan that she had started a terrible situation
by conceiving the baby with a lie. Everything that had happened had been
her own fault. As she left, Stephanie warned Morgan to stay away from everyone
in her family.
After Stephanie had left, Morgan hurled a vase at the door. She then
found her stylish black handbag and emptied the contents on the floor. Morgan
grabbed a pill bottle and swallowed a handful of pills! She noticed that
the sonogram of her son had also fallen from her Prada bag. Morgan grasped
the image to her chest as she laid on the floor and cried.

At the Forrester guest house, Rick and Amber kissed. They agreed they
missed Little Eric and left for The Lair to visit him. (I suppose they left
all those rose petals for Helen to clean up.)
At The Lair, Deacon carried Little Eric to the bar. Thinking the baby
was cute, some bimbo started flirting with Deacon. They were interrupted
by Rick and Amber storming in and yelling about the baby being in the smoky
bar. (Little Eric was cute - once again - and said "Momma" when
Amber showed up.) The bimbette was scared off by the family trauma. Deacon
wasn't pleased. Deacon threatened a restraining order against
Amber, so she promised to lighten up. As Deacon had a mouthy Rick escorted
from the bar by the bouncer, Amber took Little Eric to Deacon's apartment
upstairs to spend some quality time with her son.
Meanwhile, Ridge wandered around his mother's pool. He recalled how stupid
he had been to fall for Morgan's baby-making stunt. (No argument from out
here, pal.) As he looked at a vase of tulips, he remembered how his late
wife, Caroline, had told him she planted flowers everywhere so he could
always be surrounded by her love after she died.
Ridge was then surprised by a visit from Caroline's ghost. (He couldn't
believe that Joanna Johnson returned for such a cheesy cameo! Neither could
we!) Ghost Caroline said she had been watching Ridge's life. She knew he
and Taylor would get back together because their hearts were full of love
for each other. She instructed Ridge to stop being to hard on himself. He
had not betrayed Taylor with his mind or his heart and Taylor would realize
that. As Ghost Caroline disappeared, Ridge asked her where she was. "Everywhere"
was her reply. (Get it? Just like the flowers.)
Taylor cried in her bedroom, but couldn't bring herself to remove her
wedding ring. Thomas showed up because he couldn't sleep. Taylor invited
him up on her bed for a bedtime story. She then thoroughly depressed the
child by reciting Humpty Dumpty to him. (Way to go, Mom.) After Thomas returned
to bed, Ridge called and once again apologized to Taylor. He said he was
confident they would get through this hard time because there was no way
he could live without his wife and children. Taylor cried and hung up the
phone. To the not-so-dulcet tones of Miss Patti Smythe singing "Sometimes
Love Ain't Enough", Ridge and Taylor both enjoyed flashbacks for their
several courtships. (You remember Miss Patti Smythe, don't you? At least
I think that was her name. She sang that hot new-wave song "Goodbye
To You" with that group, Scandal, in the early 80's. Then she had that
hit with "The Warrior" in the late 80's that had a really bad
video to go with it. She made one last attempt at pop stardom with this
"Love" song in the early 90's. I think she sells puka shell necklaces
on Venice Beach now.)

Oh for crying out loud! Ridge was still wandering around the Forrester
pool lamenting his bad luck. Eric arrived to offer his son the advice of
giving Taylor some space. Ridge had obviously deeply hurt her and she needed
some time to think everything through. Ridge told his father that he didn't
want to lose his wife and family. (Uh, I think we've heard all that before.)
Jack Hamilton visited his daughter, Taylor, at her Bel Air mansion.
They re-hashed the entire scenario of Ridge betraying Taylor when he slept
with Morgan. Jack pointed out that there were mitigating circumstances to
Ridge's actions. Taylor cried
and cried
and cried some more. She
feared that she could never regain the trust she once had in Ridge. Without
that trust, Taylor feared the marriage was over. Jack reminded his daughter
to think of her children. Taylor wondered if her children needed a father
that cheated on their mother. (Uh, I think we've heard all THAT before as
well.)
Later, Taylor wandered alone on the beach. (Now where exactly she was,
we have no idea.) The distraught doc collapsed into the sand screaming Ridge's
name. She was interrupted by some headlights in the sand. "Who's there?"
Taylor questioned. (Now unless Taylor was strolling on a private beach,
did she really expect to recognize one of the millions of Los Angeleans
that might show up on a beach?) Well suh-prize, suh-prize, suh-prize! It
was Ridge. He stoically told Taylor that he couldn't live without her. He
told Taylor to take him back. Taylor tried to break free from Ridge's grasp,
but he held tight as they sunk to the sand. Taylor cried
and cried
and
cried some more. (Whatever!)
At the apartment above The Lair, Amber's quality time with Little Eric
was interrupted by Deacon wandering in slugging back drinks from a bottle
of Jack Daniels. Amber pleaded with Deacon to let her take the baby home
to care for him. Deacon said he was in charge now and Little Eric was not
going anywhere. Amber shocked the scum by telling him she would instead
stay at his apartment that night.
At the Forrester guest house, Rick worried about Amber and Stephanie
showed up with some left-overs on a silver tray. (Um, mom, my favorite!)
Rick said he knew Amber could take care of herself, but Deacon was very
unpredictable. Amber then called to tell Rick that Deacon was drunk and
she planned to stay the night at his apartment in order to care for the
baby. Rick didn't like the idea, but agreed with her.
Back above The Lair, Deacon showed Amber to Little Eric's room. Amber
informed him that she didn't plan a slumber party and wanted him to leave
her and the baby alone. Amber prepared for bed, tucked the baby under the
covers, and then discovered the door didn't lock! Amber sang a lullaby and
reassured her son that there was nothing to be frightened of. However, a
little later, Amber was startled awake when the door suddenly opened. (Who,
oh who, could it be?)
Episode Date: Tuesday, January 9, 2001
Morgan sat in her Malibu Beach house, all dressed in black, crying.
(Hey, didn't she swallow a bunch of pills the other day? It was kind of
dark, maybe they were just Tic-Tacs.) Clarke dropped by and told Morgan
that he didn't tell Stephanie about her involvement in his python attack
- and he didn't plan to tell anyone the truth. Clarke had heard about the
death of her baby and he felt she had suffered enough. He then suggested
that Morgan move away from Los Angeles. He insisted that nothing would ever
come between Ridge and Taylor and it would be best for everyone if she just
disappeared. Morgan sneered that no one cared about her. Clarke left and
strongly suggested she take his advice.
At the apartment above The Lair, Deacon snuck into the bedroom where
Amber and Little Eric was sleeping, but Amber was only pretending to be
asleep. She worried about what he might do. Deacon talked to Amber and told
her he thought she was a really hot number. Not only was she attractive,
but he admired her spunk. (You see, Deacon knew Amber was only playing possum.)
Deacon told Amber he thought she needed a man in her life, not a kid like
Rick Forrester. He suspected she was only playing hard to get with him (Deacon).
Amber panicked when Deacon touched her milky-white thigh. (Lord, is that
girl pale. She lives in LA, doesn't she?) But the tender moment was interrupted
by Carmen storming into the bedroom looking for Deacon. Carmen blew a gasket
when she saw Amber in the bed. Deacon escorted his girlfriend from the room
and told her if she didn't like the decisions he made in his own house,
she could leave. Carmen apologized and told Deacon she'd wait for him in
their bedroom. Amber had crept out of bed and was listening to their conversation
beyond the door. She was startled when Deacon suddenly opened the door and
found her standing there. He bade her a good night and left her alone.
Out on that beach, Ridge told Taylor that all she had to do was listen
to him. He pledged his undying love for her. He knew he had made a mistake
by sleeping with Morgan and impregnating her, but that hadn't changed the
way he felt about his wife. Taylor was skeptical that she could trust him
again. Ridge said he would never accept that they could be apart. He told
Taylor that she and the children meant everything to him. He would follow
her to the ends of the earth until she took him back. Ridge then suggested
they return to St. Thomas where he had proposed to her the first time. He
wanted to have a wedding on the beach, with the children in attendance,
and renew their wedding vows. He explained that he loved her more now than
he ever had in the past. Ridge got down on one knee and asked Taylor to
marry him again. A teary Taylor said she would do it! The both knelt on
the sand and kissed passionately. Way to go, Taylor.
(A brief reality check. A loyal Mr. Smartypants reader, who wishes to
remain anonymous, pointed out that it is silly for Amber to be upset that
Deacon took Little Eric to a smoky bar. Smoky bars are hard to find in Los
Angeles because smoking is not allowed in clubs or bars. So, in fact, other
than the heavy drinking, ear-deafening noise, and promiscuous sex, The Lair
is an ideal place to raise a small child. Thank you, dear reader.)
Episode Date: Wednesday, January 10, 2001
At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie and Eric shared some morning coffee.
Stephanie was incensed to learn that Eric had decided to attend Thorne and
Brooke's wedding. Eric explained that the two would get married with or
without their blessing. He only thought he'd try to help mend fences. Stephanie
said she could never accept Brooke back into the Forrester family. Stephanie
then looked outside and noticed Ridge's car was not there. She fretted about
what had happened to him until Eric insisted they leave and find their son.
At the beach house, Thorne and Brooke frolicked in bed as the sun came
up. They discussed their wedding plans. Brooke said she wanted to get married
in the garden at her house. She had invited her parents, sisters and brother,
and even her grandmother and they had agreed to come. Thorne wished his
family would be as supportive as Brooke's. Brooke said she thought they
might be able to convince Stephanie and Ridge to go along with Eric and
come to the wedding. Thorne thought they should approach Ridge first. Brooke
suggested they get dressed and do some talking that very day.
Meanwhile, in the Bel Air mansion, Ridge laid in bed and watched Taylor
sleep. When she awoke, he repeated how much he loved her. Taylor was happy
to have her husband back and be so attentive. The couple went downstairs
and found Taylor's father, Jack, and the nanny, Catherine, playing with
the children. Ridge greeted his kids with big hugs and kisses and explained
he had missed them. (Missed them?!? He wasn't even gone one night. His admission
of adultery and Taylor's forgiveness all happened in one day. I'm no dummy,
you know. I can tell time.) Jack was pleased to learn that Taylor and Ridge
had reconciled. He then offered to take Thomas to school and the twins to
breakfast.
Alone, Ridge and Taylor hugged and kissed. They were interrupted by
a visit from Stephanie and Eric. The elders were ecstatic to learn that
the couple was happy again and planning to renew their wedding vows in St.
Thomas with the children. Their gab fest had to stop, though, when Brooke
and Thorne showed up. The engaged couple said they had come to try and get
Ridge and Stephanie to attend their wedding. Stephanie laughed at the ludicrous
suggestion and told Brooke to take a flying leap. Brooke made a heart-felt
appeal. She begged Stephanie to forget the past and end their bitter war.
At first, Stephanie thought it was all a bunch of "BS", but Brooke
kept digging away at her. At the end of the episode, Brooke actually raised
her hand as a peace offering to Stephanie. Eric, Thorne, Taylor and Ridge
all stared at La Forrester to see exactly what her reaction would be.
I'm guessing it won't be any too friendly.
Episode Date: Thursday, January 11, 2001
Amber called Rick from the apartment above The Lair. She said she didn't
like spending the night there, but she was going to stay until Little Eric
could leave with her. She expressed how Deacon creeped her out. Rick said
he and Jonathan were putting one million dollars together to offer Deacon
in return for the baby. Amber hung up the phone when Deacon entered the
room. At the Forrester guest house, Jonathan arrived with the cash. Rick
insisted they go to Deacon's place right away to make the pay off.
Back the apartment above The Lair, Deacon was frisky and hinted that
he'd like to "get to know Amber better." Amber replied that she
"would rather eat rat poison than let you (Deacon) touch me (her.)"
(Ouch, that's really cold, babe.) Deacon took Amber's insults in stride
and said he knew she wanted to get to know him better as well. Amber retaliated
that the two of them had both come from the same backgrounds but had nothing
in common. She made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with men like
him. Deacon seemed to soften a little as Amber played with Little Eric.
When he asked where Amber learned to be such a good mother, Amber replied
her own mother had taught her everything NOT to do. Deacon replied that
Tawny couldn't have done such a bad job raising Amber because she had turned
out so well.
The almost-tender moment was interrupted by Rick and Jonathan showing
up at the door with the briefcase full of money. Jonathan offered the cash
in exchange for Deacon signing custody of the baby to Rick and never asking
for more money. Rick explained he wanted to take both Amber and Little Eric
to his mother's wedding the next day. Deacon seemed interested in the money,
but turned on a dime and ordered everyone out of his apartment. He told
Rick he wouldn't be rushed! Amber screamed that she hated Deacon as she
left with Rick and Jonathan. Deacon told the baby to say "bye-bye"
to all of them.
Meanwhile, at Ridge and Taylor's house, Brooke encourage a stoic Stephanie
to forget the past and end the feud between them. She said she respected
Stephanie. Brooke and Thorne planned to have children and Brooke wanted
them to know their grandmother and not be hurt by bitterness between them.
Stephanie responded that Brooke had not respected her (Stephanie's ) marriage
to Eric, so why should Stephanie now respect Brooke's love for Thorne. (That
is a good point.) Stephanie pointed out that Brooke had had all three Forrester
men in the room. Forget it, was Stephanie response. Brooke admitted she
had been married to two other Forrester men, but she had learned and grown
from each relationship. Stephanie said she had learned something too, that
Brooke was unscrupulous and immoral! Thorne told his mother that the door
would always be open for her to accept them.
Thorne then asked Ridge to be his best man at the wedding. Ridge refused.
Downhearted, Brooke and Thorne headed for the door. As they left, Thorne
gave a sarcastic smirk and said "Thanks, you two." With that,
Brooke and Thorne left the house. Stephanie, Taylor, Eric and Ridge all
just stood there and looked at each other.
What a surprise.
Episode Date: Friday, January 12, 2001
Brooke wandered in her living room on the day of her wedding to Thorne.
She recalled asking him to marry her and marveled at how lucky she was.
(Have you seen him naked?) Thorne arrived and laughed at the notion it was
bad luck to see the bride before the wedding ceremony. Brooke cried as she
again expressed how much it would mean to her to have Stephanie and Ridge
at the wedding. (As if.) Thorne called his father and asked him to try and
convince Stephanie to come one more time.
Over at the Forrester mansion, Stephanie inquired who Eric had been talking
with. Eric explained that Thorne had called and made one last plea for Stephanie
to attend the wedding. Stephanie balked at the idea. She said she respected
Eric's decision to attend and asked that he respect her opinion as well.
Stephanie explained that she would never forgive Brooke for causing so much
damage to her family. Stephanie put family first and she would never accept
Brooke as a Forrester. Eric argued that Stephanie could do more for the
family by putting the past behind them. Stephanie said Brooke was a cancer
and she could not condone the wedding. Eric looked constipated.
Back at Brooke's house, Rick and Bridget returned from a run. (Why?
We're not sure. It had something to do with Bridget wanting to eat lots
of cake at the wedding.) The doorbell rang and Brooke's family started pouring
in. There were sisters Katie and Donna as well as brother Storm. And look
over there! It's Grandma Logan! Who's next? Well, I'll be! It's mother and
father, Beth and Stephen, all the way from Paris. Much chatting ensued that
really made no difference to us what-so-ever. Thorne thanked everyone for
coming to celebrate the wedding and promised he would make Brooke the happiest
woman in Los Angeles. (Did you see him naked?) Stephen expressed concern
that Brooke was marrying yet another Forrester. Brooke said Thorne was strong
and wonderful, just like her father. Stephen was convinced. (Flattery will
get you everywhere.)
Brooke then pulled Bridget to one side and asked her to be her maid of
honor. (Doesn't anyone think of these things ahead of time?) Bridget accepted
and apologized for being such a brat in the past. Brooke explained that
she loved her daughter and learned she should never take that for granted.
They embraced. How sweet.
Episode Date: Monday, January 15, 2001
Brooke wandered in her bedroom and looked at her wedding dress. She realized
she was lucky to be marrying Thorne and only one thing would make it perfect.
Brooke called Stephanie and asked her to attend the wedding one more time.
Stephanie refused. (Like that was a surprise!)
Thorne came to Brooke's bedroom for one final chat before the ceremony.
He said he understood her desire for Ridge and Stephanie to come to the
wedding, but he thought they shouldn't count on it.
Later, Brooke's parents, Stephen and Beth, stopped in that busy bedroom.
They encouraged Brooke to accept Stephanie's snub and concentrate on her
future happiness with Thorne.
In Brooke's garden, guests started to arrive. Rick introduced Amber to
Beth's siblings, parents and grandmother. Alone with Rick, Amber said she
worried about Little Eric. Rick said he had called Deacon and the baby was
fine. Rick reminded Amber that they would be married soon themselves. Amber
was eager to get on with their lives once Little Eric was returned to them.
Thorne mingled among the guests and spotted Kimberly, wearing a whore-red
dress, arriving by a potted fern. Thorne was surprised to see her and asked
if it was a good idea for her to be there. Kimberly said Bridget had invited
her and Kimberly wanted to show her genuine support of Brooke and Thorne.
Kimberly wanted to prove she could be trusted. She only wanted the best
for Thorne.
Meanwhile, at the Bel Air mansion, Taylor readied for the wedding and
tried to convince Ridge that he should not follow his mother's lead. Taylor
reminded Ridge that Thorne had always supported him. She thought he should
extend the same courtesy.
At the Forrester mansion, Bridget paid a visit to Stephanie. Bridget
said she knew Stephanie hated Brooke for stealing Eric from her. But both
Rick and Bridget had come out of Brooke and Eric's marriage - and that was
something good. Bridget said she respected both her mother and Stephanie
and wanted them both to put their differences aside - even if just for one
day. Stephanie apologized and said she could not attend the wedding. Bridget
left.
Bridget returned home and talked to Brooke in Grand Central Station -
I mean Brooke's bedroom. Bridget explained she had talked to Stephanie but
the matriarch still refused to come. Brooke thanked her daughter for the
thoughtful gesture. Alone, Brooke called Thorne on his cell phone. (He was
just downstairs getting dressed.) She said there was no need to wait any
longer. Ridge and Stephanie would certainly not show up. They should start
the ceremony.
Thorne hung up the phone just as Ridge appeared in the room. Ridge explained
he couldn't let his little brother get married without a best man. Thorne
hugged his brother tightly. (How touching.)
Meanwhile, Brooke considered putting a turnstile on her bedroom door
as she put on her wedding dress. There was knock on the door. It was Stephanie!
She was all dressed up as if to attend a wedding. (Well knock me over and
call me Flossie!)
Episode Date: Tuesday, January 16, 2001
The wedding preparations continued in Brooke's garden. Eric complimented
Beth on her lovely attire and how well she was holding up. Beth said she
was glad Eric had decided to attend Brooke and Thorne's wedding, but was
disappointed Stephanie and Ridge wouldn't be there. Eric agreed that Stephanie
was being stubborn.
Rick and Amber discussed what a beautiful evening it was for a wedding.
Rick reminded Amber that they would be getting married again soon. Amber
was happy thinking about that notion, but wished Little Eric was with them
to celebrate. Rick promised they would have their son back soon.
Rick then approached Kimberly and thanked her for coming on such short
notice. Kimberly was glad to realize she was welcome at the wedding. Rick
wondered if it would be hard for Kimberly to watch Thorne marry Brooke.
Kimberly knew it would be difficult, but explained that she loved Thorne
enough to want him to be happy. Kimberly asked if Rick was happy getting
back with Amber. Rick admitted he was very happy. They agreed everything
had worked out for the best.
In some nondescript room somewhere, Ridge helped Thorne get dressed
for the wedding. Thorne asked what had made Ridge change his mind about
being best man. Ridge said he had an epiphany. He had realized that he was
trying to run Thorne's life. Ridge said he didn't want to do that. He had
decided to love his brother and be supportive. Thorne correctly guessed
that Taylor had kicked Ridge's butt and made him see what a baby he was
being. Ridge didn't deny that fact and the brother's joked around. (It was
painful.)
But the real drama was unfolding up in Brooke's bedroom. Brooke asked
Stephanie if she had come to bless the wedding. Stephanie said she would
never forgive Brooke for what she had done to the Forrester family and still
did not believe she should be marrying Thorne. Brooke said if Stephanie
had come to bad mouth her, she should just leave. Stephanie continued and
said Bridget had come to see her to convince her to come to the wedding.
Stephanie said she had reconsidered and would indeed help pull the family
together. Not for Brooke or even for Thorne, but for the children and the
future generations of Forresters. Brooke was overcome with gratitude and
gave Stephanie a great big bear hug. The tender moment was interrupted by
Stephen and Bridget checking on Brooke. They were ecstatic to see Stephanie
had come to the ceremony.
So back down in the garden, the minister took his place. Thorne walked
to the front of the gathered guests. Everyone was pleased when Ridge joined
his brother. Thomas carried the ring pillow down the aisle. Bridget made
her way down as well as maid of honor. The harpist played the wedding march.
All eyes turned to the back of the garden but noticed that Stephen took
a chair beside Beth instead of escorting Brooke down the aisle. Thorne looked
puzzled. Brooke appeared at the back of the garden alone, radiant in her
white gown. She stopped and looked behind her. Stephanie joined Brooke at
her side. (I kid you not, dear readers, this is what happened.) Stephanie
and Brooke walked down the aisle arm in arm. (I'm not making this up.) Everyone
gasped. (Lord knows I did.) When they reached the altar, Stephanie took
Brooke's hand and placed it in Thorne's. (It's true. I saw it right there
on video tape.) Stephanie winked at her son as he said "Thanks, Mom."
If it hadn't been so over the top and maudlin, it may have actually been
touching.
Episode Date: Wednesday, January 17, 2001
At the offices of Spectra Fashions, Sally read a newspaper article about
Brooke and Thorne's wedding while Clarke and Darla looked on. Sally couldn't
believe the couple would sully Macy's memory by getting married so soon.
Sally tried to call Stephanie at her office, but discovered she was at the
wedding. She figured the only reason La Forrester would go to the ceremony
was to stop it. Sally wanted to go to Brooke's house to see the fall out,
but Clarke convinced her to stay out of it. Darla hypothesized that Stephanie
might be trying to bring the Forrester family together. That was what Macy
had wanted all along. Darla figured that Macy and Thorne had tried to make
their relationship work for many years. Maybe Brooke and Thorne could make
it work for them. Sally disagreed and was certain Stephanie would never
condone the union.
But at that very minute, Brooke and Thorne's wedding continued in the
garden. The minister said the obligatory words about why they were gathered.
When he got to point about asking if anyone had a reason they shouldn't
get married, everybody, even Brooke and Thorne, turned and looked directly
at Stephanie. La Forrester simply bowed her head and gave a slight smile.
(Whew! Dodged that bullet!)
Brooke's father Stephen got up and compared the union to a beautiful
garden that all the guests would need to help tend. Then, Beth and Eric
were to light a unity candle to show the coming together of the families.
However, Stephanie wanted to hog a little more spotlight, so she knocked
Eric out of the way and lit the candle with Beth. (I've been to lots of
weddings and never seen anyone but the bride and groom light the candles!
I think this was really stretching it.) Then the harpist played a song that
I think was that darn opera aria Brooke and Thorne kept hearing in Venice.
(It was kind of tacky it you ask me.)
Brooke and Thorne exchanged vows. You know how they go. "We've been
through so much. Blah, blah, blah. I'll always love you. Blah, blah, blah."
(You get the picture. They were fairly unremarkable.) The minister pronounced
them husband and wife. They kissed.
Then in slow motion, Brooke and Thorne walked back down the aisle. Brooke
did a voice over explaining it was the happiest day of her life. Her two
families were finally united and it was all "because of one man - Thorne
Forrester." When they reached the back of the garden, white rose petals
showered down on the entire wedding party. (Where did they come from? I
suppose Helen was up on the roof of the house tossing them like she did
from the rafters of the guest house on Amber and Rick.)
Episode Date: Thursday, January 18, 2001
It was the day after the big wedding. Thorne laid in bed and watched
Brooke wake up. They were so very, very happy. (Yeah, right. Morning breath
and all.) They recalled what a fabulous wedding and reception they had the
previous evening. Before the left on their honeymoon, Brooke had to go to
the office to finish some work and Thorne was going to stop by and see Ridge.
At the Bel Air Mansion, Ridge and Stephanie played with the children
in the living room. (It was really cute to see the little actor playing
Thomas be so friendly with Miss Susan Flannery (Stephanie). He just couldn't
get enough of her.) Catherine, the nanny, took the children away for breakfast
as Ridge and Stephanie discussed their mutual change of hearts about attending
Thorne and Brooke's wedding. They agreed it was time to put old animosities
behind them. And what do you know, Thorne showed up. He had wanted to stop
by and thank Ridge for being his best man, but he also thanked his mother
for her support at the ceremony. Ridge explained how he and Taylor
were going to get remarried on the beach at St. Thomas. Ridge suggested
that he and Taylor, Thorne and Brooke, and Stephanie and Eric make it an
annual event. Stephanie poo-pooed that idea right away. Thorne expressed
his sorrow for the mess Ridge and Taylor had endured with Morgan. Ridge
explained they were well past that trauma and no one was to mention Morgan's
name again. She would never come anywhere near the Forrester family.
Oh yeah? At that very moment, Morgan, looking terribly thin with uncombed
hair, wandered into Ridge's office at Forrester Creations. (Honestly, she
was wearing a black turtleneck and long black skirt. She looked just like
Morticia Addams.) She found the recent photo of Taylor and the children
and was fondling it just as Brooke came into the room. Brooke expressed
her sympathy for Morgan's loss, but explained that personal matters had
no place at Forrester Creations. (Really? Since when?) Brooke explained
that with Ridge leaving for St. Thomas and Brooke being gone on her honeymoon,
Morgan's job was secure as they needed her design skills to finish the new
collection. Morgan thanked Brooke for her compassion. Just then, Taylor
entered the office to pick up some papers for Ridge. She was shocked to
see Morgan there and screamed for her to leave or she would call security.
Taylor was further dismayed to learn that Brooke wasn't going to fire Morgan.
After Morgan left for her office (but really just stood outside the
door and eavesdropped), Brooke told Taylor that business was business and
Morgan's talents were needed at Forrester Creations. Taylor responded that
she had fallen for Morgan's song and dance herself. She was certain that
Morgan was unstable and could very well steal the designs and sell them
to another fashion house. Brooke didn't agree with Taylor's tale of corporate
espionage and wished her a happy wedding on the beach.
Taylor stewed alone in Ridge's office after Brooke left. But she wasn't
alone for long. Morgan stomped in and slammed the door behind her!

At the Forrester guest house, Rick told Amber that he didn't trust Deacon
when she was alone with him. Amber replied that she had to visit Deacon
in order to spend time with Little Eric. She promised she wouldn't fall
for any of Deacon's tricks. She left for The Lair.
Meanwhile, over at Deacon's apartment, Carmen whined that she was tired
of taking care of the baby. She wanted to go out and have some fun. Deacon
told Carmen she was free to go anytime she wanted to. Carmen pouted and
said Deacon's personality had changed since Little Eric had come into their
lives. Carmen was certain Deacon had the hots for Amber. When Deacon didn't
deny her accusations, Carmen said she'd be keeping an eye out for Amber.
After Carmen went downstairs to work, Amber arrived for a visit with
Little Eric. Deacon admitted that he was tired of being a father and did
want Amber to take care of his son. Amber asked why he didn't just take
the Forresters' money and give the baby back. Deacon admitted that if he
didn't have custody of Little Eric, he wouldn't get to see Amber any more.
Thinking his comment was a crude come-on, Amber told Deacon she would never
have sex with him. Deacon said they could perhaps negotiate. He proposed
that for one kiss from Amber, he would relinquish his rights to the baby.
At first she was skeptical, but Amber decided to trust Deacon. She leaned
in for a short kiss. He said he needed some more emotion. Amber went in
again and the two really started swapping spit! And who should open the
door and spy the lip lock at that very moment? Well, it's none other than
Carmen! Ooh, girl. There is going to be a cat fight tonight.
At the Bel Air mansion, Ridge, Catherine and the kids finished packing
and left for the airport in a limousine. Ridge explained that Taylor had
been delayed and would meet them at the airport.
But at Forrester Creations, a menacing Morgan yelled at Taylor. She wasn't
happy that the good doctor had been trying to convince Brooke to fire her.
Taylor calmly explained that she truly felt it would be best for everyone,
even Morgan, if the designer looked for another city in which to live. Taylor
said working at the same company as Ridge would never make him forgive her.
Morgan blurted out that she loved Ridge. Taylor was blown away by Morgan's
admission and felt sorry for the girl. Being compassionate, Taylor wrote
the name and number of a qualified shrink on a yellow Post-It note. She
handed Morgan the paper and suggested she get professional help. In
what may be the best scene I've ever watched on The Bold and the Beautiful,
Morgan took the Post-It note and tore it into tiny shreds. Now get this!
She stuffed the pieces of paper in her mouth! She chewed them for a couple
of seconds! Then she spit the paper wad directly onto Taylor's forehead!
It was wonderful! It was stupendous! It was sublime! Taylor recoiled in
horror and thought Morgan was surely mad.
On the Forrester jet, Ridge waited impatiently for Taylor's arrival.
The pilot said they may have to cancel the flight if Taylor didn't arrive
soon. At that moment, Taylor rushed onto the plane and said she had set
a land speed record running across the tarmac. (I would have loved to have
seen that!) When Ridge asked why she had been away so long, Taylor simply
said she had been held up. As they hugged, a worried look crossed Taylor's
face.
Back in Ridge's office, Morgan had turned off the lights and hunkered
down beside his desk. As she fondled the photo of Taylor and the children,
she cried that Taylor had everything and she had nothing. (I actually think
Morgan was upset thinking about the how many empty calories she may have
ingested from the Post-It note.)
Episode Date: Monday, January 22, 2001
On the Forrester jet bound for St. Thomas, Ridge told Thomas, Little
Stephanie and Phoebe how much he loved their mother and how they planned
to get married again. Taylor and Ridge agreed how lucky they were. In a
desperate attempt to fill time, the children then put on a fashion show
of swim suits and dinner-wear for their appreciative parents. (Thanks goodness
I hadn't eaten anything recently.) The entire clan arrived at the hotel
in St. Thomas where Ridge had reserved the same room he and Taylor had occupied
before. (For some reason, I'm sure there hadn't been an adjoining nursery
last time.)
Bridget visited Rick at the Forrester guest house and told him how happy
she was that Stephanie and Brooke had made amends. Rick said the wedding
was only tainted by Little Eric's absence. Rick then relayed his suspicion
that Deacon was now interested in Amber. Bridget worried that the sleaze-ball
would try and force his intentions (and something else) on Amber. Rick wanted
to go over to The Lair and bring both Amber and Little Eric home by force.
Bridget was afraid that action might endanger both of them. (Oh, what to
do?)
Over at The Lair. Carmen stormed back into the bar after having witnessed
Deacon and Amber kissing. She ordered the bartender to serve her drinks!
Carmen explained what she had seen. The bartender tried to reason with her
and stop her from having so much alcohol. Carmen kept chugging down the
shots.
Upstairs, Deacon told Amber that she wasn't trying hard enough. In order
to get Little Eric back, she would need to put a little emotion into their
make out session. After two more prolonged lip locks, Amber insisted that
Deacon give her the baby and she would leave. With a sinister laugh, Deacon
explained that he had no intention of giving the child back to her yet.
Amber went ballistic and threw anything she could find at Deacon. He actually
seemed to enjoy the attention. As Amber grew more out of control, Deacon
grabbed her and she screamed bloody murder. (Where did that expression come
from? Oh, I suppose it's obvious.)
Amber calmed down, and with runny mascara, told Deacon that she hated
him for what he was putting her through. It was clear that he saw her as
nothing more than a piece of meat. He had no feelings at all. He wasn't
even human. Deacon seemed to be touched by her words. He place his hand
on hers for comfort. Amber recoiled as Deacon said he just couldn't let
her go yet.
Dejected, Deacon left the apartment but didn't see Carmen lurking in
the hallway. Carmen then entered the apartment. Amber ignored her presence.
Carmen went to the bedroom and picked up Little Eric. She told herself the
baby had started this problem and he was going to end it as well.
Oh my, this doesn't look good at all.
Episode Date: Tuesday, January 23, 2001
Taylor and Ridge looked in on their sleeping children in their hotel
room in St. Thomas. Taylor said a prayer thanking God for the blessing of
their children. Ridge then gave a prayer of thanks for Taylor. Later, in
sexy lingerie (why didn't they thank God for that?), Ridge told Taylor he
had another treasure hunt for her. (You might recall that the first time
they visited St. Thomas, Ridge devised a treasure hunt for Taylor that culminated
with her digging on the beach and unearthing a small box with a diamond
ring in it.) This time, Ridge had simply put a big pile of pillows on the
floor for Taylor to rummage through. (I suppose all the money for location
shots got blown last year then they went to Venice!) Taylor found the same
box with yet another diamond ring in it. Ridge asked Taylor to marry him
again. She replied by falling on top of him and covering him with kisses.
(I'll take that as a yes.)
At Forrester Creations, Stephanie and Eric stood in his office and admired
a photo of Ridge, Taylor, and the children. They were happy to think the
marriage had endured the machinations of Miss Morgan DeWitt. They were,
therefore, shocked when Morgan walked into the office with some sketches.
Eric informed Morgan that she was fired and needed to vacate her office
that very evening. Morgan whined that Brooke wanted her to continue working
at Forrester Creations. Eric made it very clear that Brooke was once again
a member of the Forrester family and she would agree with what Eric decided.
He then insisted Morgan leave the building or he would call security.
Meanwhile, alone in Deacon's apartment, Amber began to realize that Little
Eric had been asleep for a long time. (If I were her, I'd worry that he
was high school age when he woke up.) She went to check on her son and found
he was gone! Deacon returned to the apartment and Amber accused him of taking
the baby away. Deacon denied the charges and asked if Amber had been alone.
She recalled that Carmen had been come to the apartment to get something
for Deacon. When Deacon said he had never sent Carmen upstairs, Amber freaked.
The twosome went to The Lair and questioned the bartender about Carmen.
He admitted she had seen Amber and Deacon kiss and had been upset. She drank
heavily and said if she couldn't have Deacon, then Amber couldn't have him
either. Deacon then questioned the doorman who said he was certain Carmen
had not left the building. Where could she be?
Oh look, there's Carmen. She was stumbling up the building stairwell
carrying Little Eric. She went all the way up to the roof. As she cried
that the little boy was the cause of her losing her man, her dream, and
her life, she took out a flask and continued chugging the alcohol. Just
them, Deacon and Amber ran onto the roof and discovered Carmen right next
to the parapet. Amber screamed for Carmen to give her the baby. Carmen warned
both of them to stay away from her!
And who says there's no drama left in daytime television?
Episode Date: Wednesday, January 24, 2001
In Eric's office, Morgan said she was not going to leave Forrester Creations.
She had lost her baby (two babies, in fact) and she had no friends. (Now
why would that be, girlfriend?) Her position at the fashion house was all
she had left and she would not allow Eric to take that away from her. Eric
replied that he couldn't imagine why Morgan would want to stay there anyway.
After everything that happened, he thought it would be best for everyone
if she looked for employment elsewhere. When it appeared that Morgan wasn't
going to leave, Eric called security and told them to come to his office
and escort Morgan from the building. Morgan grew very angry and said they'd
have to drag her out kicking and screaming. She blamed Stephanie for all
her problems. Stephanie told Morgan it was high time she accepted responsibility
for her own actions. Two burly men appeared and advised Morgan to leave
with them. As Morgan resisted, the guards grabbed her by the arms and took
her from the office. All the way, Morgan was screaming "what goes around,
comes around!" She vowed revenge on the Forresters! (Oh, really? How
surprising!)
At the Forrester guest house, Bridget and Rick had another boring conversation
about the fate of Little Eric. Bridget wondered if Deacon was perhaps starting
to feel something for the baby. He was his son, after all. Rick doubted
that Deacon had any emotions what so ever. He didn't think Deacon would
hurt his meal ticket, but worried that Carmen was a loose cannon. Bridget
wished her brother well and left. Alone, Rick remembered all the good times
with his son. (Yet another stall tactic with tedious flashbacks.)
On to the good stuff. On the roof across town, Carmen told Deacon and
Amber to stay away from her. She explained how she had seen them kissing
and had nothing left to lose. Amber had taken Deacon from her and she now
planned to take the baby away from Amber. Carmen told Deacon how much she
had loved him and he had only treated her like dirt. With that, Carmen lifted
Little Eric over the edge of the parapet and dangled him in the air! As
Amber cried, Deacon begged Carmen not to hurt his son. (Please note that
the child playing Little Eric was perfectly calm through all the yelling.
Not a peep of any kind. In fact, it appeared he was enjoying his high flying
adventure.) Deacon offered to let Carmen push him over the ledge if she
would just spare the baby's life. Carmen realized that she would gain nothing
by killing Little Eric and was touched by Deacon's heart-felt pleas. She
handed the baby to Deacon and told him to take the child downstairs. After
Deacon left with Little Eric, Amber approached Carmen and told her that
if she ever came near her son again, Amber would kill her. Amber turned
to leave, but Carmen grabbed her arm and asked where she thought she was
going!
Oh, child, it's not over yet!

At Macy's old beach house, Kimberly listened to a Macy CD (where can
I buy some of those?) and forlornly gazed at photos of her and her half-sister.
She told herself how much she missed Macy's guidance. Sally walked into
the room, explaining that the door had been open. Sally realized how much
Kimberly missed Macy as well as her father and mother. Sally suggested that
Kimberly come live with her and CJ - just until she got back on her feet.
Kimberly thanked Sally for the kind offer, but wanted to stay in the beach
house where Macy had wanted her to live. Sally understood the teen's wishes,
but made it clear that Kimberly was to call her if she needed anything.
Alone again, Kimberly continued her vigil at the Macy shrine on the coffee
table. At the sound of a knock on the door, Kimberly went to open it, thinking
it was Sally again. But she was surprised at whoever was there. "It's
you. It's really you" Kimberly beamed at the unseen visitor. (Who is
it? Gladys for the monthly dye-job touch-up?)
At the Forrester guest house, poor Rick spent another entire episode
just standing around talking. This time, his partner in boredom was Stephanie.
They discussed that Carmen might be upset if Deacon was truly interested
in Amber. Stephanie wondered what Carmen might be capable of. (It's a proven
fact that in each episode, one scene is usually two characters talking about
the action in another scene. But this guest house fodder is just getting
out of hand. It's time Rick got out and did something.)
At The Lair, Deacon appeared with Little Eric. Deacon fawned over the
youngster to make sure he was all right. The bartender offered Deacon a
beer, but he requested water instead. When the bartender started to light
a cigarette, Deacon demanded he not smoke around his son. Mr. Bartender
was surprised at Deacon's change in attitude. Deacon told about Carmen being
out of control on the roof and endangering Little Eric's life. The bartender
was surprised that Deacon had thought it wise to leave Amber on the roof
with an intoxicated Carmen.
So let's go visit the roof, shall we? Carmen told Amber that it was payback
time for trying to steal her man. Amber said she had no desire to be anywhere
near Deacon. She was only hanging around because of the baby. Carmen said
those days were over because she intended to get a restraining order to
keep Amber away from Deacon and his son. Amber replied that she intended
to order Deacon to kick Carmen out of the apartment that very night. It
was obvious that Deacon had chosen his son over Carmen. He would certainly
not want her around after the stunt she had pulled on the roof. As Amber
headed for the stairs, Carmen pushed her to roof-top surface. Carmen then
slammed the door to the stairs and picked up a board that just happened
to be lying around. (How convenient!) As Carmen swung wildly, Amber dodged
the piece of wood and ran to a higher level of the roof. (A level with no
parapet wall, mind you.) Carmen followed and the two women struggled. (Actually,
two stunt women with Amber and Carmen wigs struggled. Don't let us see your
face. Just toss that big mess o' blond hair around, would ya?) Carmen got
the upper hand and pinned Amber to the roof top. Carmen started to choked
her nemesis and told her she'd be Little Eric's new mommy! That did it!
Amber summoned all her strength and pushed Carmen off her. At that moment,
Deacon ran onto the roof. He was just in time to see Carmen be thrown back
to the edge of the roof, teeter for a couple of seconds, and then plunge
over the side.
He looked over the edge and saw Carmen's body on the ground below. Amber
recoiled in horror. I clapped my hands with great enthusiasm. A good day's
work, I'd say.

Sally and Clarke chatted in her office at Spectra Fashions. Sally explained
to Clarke that she had visited Kimberly. La Spectra related how depressed
Kimberly was over the loss of her father, Macy, and Thorne. She was afraid
that there was nothing that could be done to help the teen. Clarke said
only two people could save Kimberly - her sister, who was dead, and her
father, who had disappeared.
But just as soon as you say something like that on a soap opera, we all
know what happens. Over at the beach house it wasn't Gladys that had shown
up at Kimberly's door
.it was her father, Adam! Kimberly was overjoyed
to see her long lost papa. She told him she desperately needed his guidance.
Adam said he knew all about her problems. He wanted to help her after Macy's
funeral, but it wasn't safe for him to return. (When Kimberly asked him
about the bad people that were after him, however, Adam said it didn't matter
anymore. WHAT?) Adam told Kimberly he had come to help her. He had found
a place where she could move with him - a place where they would be safe.
At first, Kimberly was hesitant. Adam wouldn't even tell her (or rather
didn't want to tell us) where they were going. When Kimberly started to
gather all her pictures of Macy, Adam convinced her to leave them behind.
When they got to their destination, she could decide if she wanted them
sent to her. When Kimberly said she couldn't bear it if he ever
left her again, Adam replied "You'll have a stable life. We all will."
Kimberly questioned who he meant by "all."
Tears came to Adam's eyes as he said he had another surprise for her.
"Something so wonderfully miraculous
an answer to your prayers"
Adam said. "Honey, your life is about to start all over again."
With that, Adam and Kimberly left through the front door and turned off
the light. The camera then panned to a framed photo of Macy.
ARGH! They are, of course, hinting that Macy is alive and well and living
in some secret location with Adam. You'll remember that Macy's body wasn't
recovered. They only found partial remains. I always assumed that meant
the authorities found Macy's hair extensions. However, there was that female
truck driver at the scene as well. Perhaps Macy escaped. But it is inconceivable
that Macy would allow her mother to believe she was dead when she had survived?
So the door is open for all three characters to return. My only question
now is
didn't Kimberly need to pack anything before leaving? Some underwear?
A toothbrush? Miss Clairol #24 dark dark brunette?
Enough. Over to the parking lot behind The Lair. Deacon rushed down from
the roof to aid Carmen. He cried as he begged her to hold on. The bartender
(Blake?) came out to empty the trash. Deacon screamed for him to call an
ambulance. (Obviously Deacon has never watched Emergency or ER because the
first thing he did was pick up Carmen's head and started bobbing it all
around. Keep the head still, stupid.) Deacon promised to take Carmen away
if she'd just pull through. Carmen opened her eyes, said "hold me",
and then closed her eyes in death. Amber stood by and looked on as the ambulance
arrived. Two paramedics tried valiantly to save her, but told Deacon that
Carmen had died. Deacon wailed as he again cradled Carmen's lifeless body
and
.kissed her. (Eew!) On the lips. (Double Eew!) Amber tried to
comfort Deacon, but he recoiled and gave her an evil look.
Deacon went inside as the police arrived. Officer Troop and Officer
Hartaway asked Amber if she had seen what happened. Shaken up, Amber slowly
answered the cops' questions. They took her name and address. Officer Troop
went back to the squad car as Hartaway asked Amber how she had received
the scratches on her face. Amber lied that she had fallen, but Hartaway
didn't believe her. Deacon returned and Amber admitted she and Carmen had
a disagreement, but she hadn't caused Carmen's fall. Troop returned with
the news that Amber was out on parole for a drug conviction. Hartaway instructed
troop to handcuff Amber as he read her Miranda rights. Amber resisted and
yelled for Deacon to help her out. Deacon slowly puffed on a cigarette and
stared blankly at Amber.

Brooke and Thorne sipped champagne in the back of a limousine. Thorne
called his father to inform him that he and Brooke would be stopping by
the mansion. After Thorne hung up the phone, Brooke was skeptical if Stephanie
would really enjoy a visit from her new daughter-in-law.
Meanwhile at the Forrester mansion, Eric told Stephanie that Thorne and
Brooke were stopping by. They had just returned from their honeymoon. (Well,
that's a pretty neat trick since it's the same day they left for their honeymoon.
I know that soaps play loose and fast with time but this is just ridiculous!
All you have to do is look back to January 19 in the Mr. Smartypants archives
and see that the same morning Brooke and Thorne were leaving on their honeymoon
is the same morning Amber went to The Lair and was spotted kissing Deacon
by Carmen. Since Carmen just plummeted to her death and the police are on
the scene, it's obviously the same day. Where did Brooke and Thorne go on
their honeymoon? The Galleria? The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion? Venice Beach
for a hot dog?) Anyway, Stephanie told Eric she wasn't sure she was ready
to accept Brooke as a member of the family. Showing support at the wedding
had been one thing, but welcoming her to everyday life might be too much
to ask.
Too late. Brooke and Thorne showed up with a gift of hand-picked macadamia
nuts. (Oh, they went to Hickory Farms on their honeymoon.) Brooke asked
to speak to Stephanie privately. Sharing a private drink, Eric told Thorne
he hoped Brooke would be sensitive to the difficult steps Stephanie was
taking. Back in the living room, Brooke realized Stephanie wasn't 100% behind
her marriage to Thorne. Stephanie suspected that Brooke was being so nice
to make herself look like the generous one in Thorne's eyes. Brooke denied
the accusation and said she only wanted to help Stephanie with the transition.
Stephanie said Brooke had done horrible things to the Forrester family and
there should be consequences to pay. Stephanie said she was not vindictive
by nature. Brooke smiled that likewise, she was not a tramp by nature. Brooke
sincerely apologized for all the pain she had caused Stephanie. Brooke said
she had tried to overcome the hurt of an absentee father in her childhood
by seeking acceptance from men. But she had grown through the years and
with Thorne's love, was now a complete woman. Brooke thanked Stephanie for
raising Thorne to be such a wonderful man. Brooke then said she hoped to
one day be as wise and strong a woman as Stephanie. Stephanie was genuinely
touched by Brooke's words. (However, when Brooke called Stephanie "Mom
Forrester", Stephanie suggested they just take it one day at a time.
Good idea.)
Over at The Lair, Deacon intervened in Amber's arrest. He told the officers
that Carmen had been jealous of Amber and got drunk at the bar. He explained
that Carmen then came to the apartment and found Deacon kissing Amber. Carmen
flew into a rage and attacked Amber. Deacon lied that the fight between
the women had taken place in the apartment. He fibbed that he had pulled
the girl fight apart and Carmen had left. She often went to the roof to
think. Deacon guessed that the intoxicated Carmen had slipped and fallen
from the roof. Officer Troop went to interview the bartender and Officer
Hartaway led a handcuffed Amber and Deacon to take a look at the apartment.
Upon opening the door, Deacon revealed a shambles of an apartment. It looked
like real girl-to-girl combat had occurred! Officer Troop returned and said
the bartender confirmed that Carmen was drunk and had gone to the apartment
to confront Amber. Slowly, Amber agreed that the fight had occurred in
the apartment and both she and Deacon had been inside when Carmen fell.
The police left.
Alone with Deacon, Amber thanked Deacon for saving her and Little Eric.
Deacon made it clear that he had pulled off the ruse in order to make sure
his son had a mother. He said he truly loved Carmen (yeah, sure, we saw
plenty of evidence of that) and now she was gone. A dazed Amber hugged Deacon
for comfort.
Episode Date: Tuesday, January 30, 2001
Taylor returned from the beach to the St. Thomas hotel room and found
Ridge trying to reserve a boat for a family excursion the following day.
As the duo discussed renewing their wedding vows, Taylor asked if it was
OK to have the re-wedding without the children in attendance. She felt that
the entire Morgan fiasco had precipitated this event and didn't want the
children influenced by it. Ridge agreed. Taylor then ruined Ridge's surprised
by guessing that he had designed a gown for her to wear. (Well, what had
she planned to wear? Didn't he realize she hadn't packed anything else?
Of course she knew.) Later in the evening, Ridge and Taylor stood among
candles and palm fronds on the beach. Taylor said she had always known they
would survive Morgan's schemes, even if the baby had lived. Ridge told Taylor
how much he loved her and said he would never take their life together for
granted. A minister showed up and began the renewal ceremony.
It's a new day in Los Angeles. In Brooke's office at Forrester Creations,
Brooke and Thorne were surprised to learn that Eric had fired Morgan. Brooke
was concerned about the current fashion collection, but Eric insisted family
was more important that any business matter. He said Stephanie was currently
making sure Morgan would never bother the Forrester family again. After
Eric left, Thorne was impressed with how easy-going Brooke had been about
Eric overstepping her authority. Brooke admitted she owed the family a huge
debt for supporting her marriage to Thorne. She also knew that Morgan wouldn't
have lasted long anyway at the company after the stunts she had pulled.
Brooke noted how the entire Forrester family were newlyweds. (Eric and Stephanie,
Ridge and Taylor, she and Thorne - and soon Rick and Amber.) She was glad
the whole family was happy. (Sure, but for how long?) Their happiness made
her wonder how Morgan was holding up.
Dressed in yet another black outfit, Morgan returned home from a walk
on the beach. She worried about her future because she had no friends, no
family, and no job. She discovered her future as she walked into the Malibu
Beach house. Stephanie was there packing boxes with a couple of movers!
Morgan protested, but Stephanie said she could definitely not stay in Taylor's
old house. Furthermore, they had to leave immediately for the airport. Stephanie
had purchased a one-way ticket to New York for Morgan and the plane was
leaving very soon.
At the airport, Morgan was reluctant to get on the plane. Stephanie said
Morgan would get on the plane if she had to drag her on herself. Morgan
made Stephanie promise not to try and harass her or keep her from getting
a new job. Stephanie said it was the easiest promise she'd ever make because
she would never think about Morgan again. Morgan accused Stephanie of being
glad that her own grandchild had died. Stephanie had to admit that the child's
life would have been horrible with a father that didn't want him and a lunatic
for a mother. As Morgan fumbled to show the ticket agent her ID, a photo
of her and Ridge fell to the floor. Stephanie picked up the photo and told
Morgan she would not be needing it anymore. Morgan ran onto the jetway to
the plane. Stephanie ripped Morgan from the photo and shredded her face.
"That's the last we'll see of Morgan DeWitt" Stephanie mumbled.
I wouldn't bet the farm on that one, Steph.

On the beach in St. Thomas, Ridge and Taylor renewed their wedding vows.
You know the drill, Taylor expressed her love for Ridge. Ridge replied
that he was so grateful to have Taylor in his life. Yada, yada, yada.
They returned to their hotel room and prepared for a night of acrobatic
sex. They were interrupted by a knock on the door. Catherine, the nanny,
was there with all three kids. It seems the children wanted to share their
pizza and cartoon video with mom and dad. Taylor and Ridge were happy to
spend their second (or this the third? fourth?) honeymoon with Thomas, Phoebe,
and Little Stephanie.
At the apartment above The Lair, Little Eric cried in the next room as
Amber explained that the baby was too traumatized by his roof adventure
to sleep at Deacon's apartment. After some badgering from Amber, Deacon
relented and told Amber she could take Little Eric home. At first, Amber
didn't believe Deacon, but after he explained he was giving the baby a present
for his (Deacon's) birthday, Amber thanked Deacon for his generosity. Her
happiness was short-lived when Deacon told Amber to return the baby in 24
hours or he'd call the police. Amber was disgusted by Deacon's shenanigans,
but took Little Eric and left.
At the Forrester guest house, Bridget and Rick discussed Rick's desire
to have his son back. (Doesn't this guy ever leave the house anymore?)
Bridget encouraged Rick to keep the faith. As Bridget prepared to leave,
she was surprised by Amber's arrival with Little Eric. Rick came from the
bedroom and was ecstatic to see his son. Amber teared up as she witnessed
the tender reunion. (I simply ate another Triscuit with Velveeta.)
Back at the apartment above The Lair, Deacon worked out by hitting a
punching bag. As he pummeled the bag, he imagined a voice telling him he
was worthless and needed to be beat up. (I've got the number of a good
therapist, dude.) He stopped only when there was a knock on the door.
It turned out to be Darryl, Deacon's step-father. (It seems
the voice Deacon was hearing earlier was that of Darryl.) Darryl explained
that he was in Los Angeles for business a couple of days and wanted to stay
with Deacon. Deacon said he didn't want his father around. The elder Sharpe
spit that Deacon owed him for taking care of his worthless self when he
was a kid. Deacon reluctantly agreed to let Darryl stay one night only.
I think there's going to be trouble. That's what I think.
