It seems I will be on Soap Talk this Wednesday, August 4th. (The air date is different than what I was told.) You'll have to check your local cable or satellite listings for the channel number of Soap Net and verify the times. To the best of my knowledge, Soap Talk airs at 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM eastern time, 10:00 AM and PM central time, 9:00 AM and PM mountain time, and 8:00 AM and PM on the west coast. If you happen to miss it, I'll have lots of video tapes of me on the show. And be aware that I am the very last guest on the show. You only have to watch the last 15 minutes to catch me. But of course, you'll want to watch the entire program because it fantastic.

Felicia went to the Shady Marlin again. She told Nick she had to get away from Chez Ridge…what with the honeymooning couple and all the children. Nick wasn't sure he wanted her company and started asking all sorts of questions. If she was so happy to travel and loved being a fee spirit, why was she still hanging around Los Angeles? What about all her friends in Europe? And why had she still not contact her mother? Certainly Stephanie would like to see her and talk to her. Felicia didn't care for Nick's prying. Nick announced that he had had enough Forrester drama. If she really didn't want to hang out with him and have a good time, she'd better be honest with him. Felicia was fed up and grabbed her bag to go. In her haste, she spilled the contents all over the poop deck. And what did Nick pick up from the scattered belongings but a sandwich-sized ZipLock Storage Bag full of pills! (Pills! She's addicted to dolls! Holy Toledo! Actually, it look like a couple of aspirin, some Vitamin C tablets, a few One-A-Day multiple vitamins, and some left of Trim Spas from her visit to her friend Anna Nicole.)

Over at the Malibu Beach House, Thomas was enjoying Amber's sensual touch. But better judgment got a grip on Amber and she stopped the massage and insisted Thomas leave. Naturally, he was confused…and more than a little worked up. Amber said she had been having incredibly inappropriate thoughts and he must leave immediately. Turned on by the attention, Thomas pulled Amber into a hot and heavy kiss! Amber pulled away and said this was something they couldn't do. Although Thomas wanted to take things a little further, Amber pushed him out the door. They shared one last lip lock before Thomas left. It's just too bad that Oscar had arrived to see the smooch.

It seems that Ozzy was concerned about Amber. She had left the Ingenue Fashion show in a pretty bad state. He wanted to check on her but found Amber "sucking face" with teen-aged Thomas. Amber tried to explain that she had been trying to comfort him. It had been nothing more than a kiss. But Ozzy said it looked more like "tonsil hockey." Ozzy wondered if Amber wasn't trying to find her way back into the Forrester family again. She obviously missed the life she had led when married to Rick. Amber pooh-poohed the notion and told Oscar that nothing more would happen with young Thomas.

At Chez Ridge, Brooke and Ridge were concerned about Thomas. (So concerned, they were had changed clothes after their conversation with Rick and Caitlin. Luckily, Thomas came through the door. The couple immediately started pestering him with questions about how he was doing. Thomas admitted that he was hurt over Caitlin's betrayal. Brooke said that Caitlin did care for him. Thomas said it didn't really matter anyway. He shrugged his shoulders and went up to bed. Ridge thought it was very odd that his son was so easy-going about what had happened. Brooke suggested that it had only been a teen crush. He had already moved on to something else. (Or someone else, don't you mean?)

Up in his room, Thomas called Amber to wish her pleasant dreams. Although Amber told Thomas nothing was going on between them and he shouldn't have called her, she was very flattered by the attention.

On a sunny new day in the City of Angels, Nick dropped the Forrester Mansion to see Stephanie. He explained how he had met Felicia and she had stopped by the Shady Marlin a few times. He questioned how well Stephanie knew her daughter. La Forrester said she had always been a free spirit - a little hard to pin down. (A flibbertigibbet, perhaps?) Nick spelled it out and said he had seen a bag of pills in Felicia's purse - and they weren't aspirin. (Some of them sure looked like aspirin to me.) Stephanie thanked Nick for his concern and called Felicia as soon as he left. Her daughter was at Insomnia and made excuses why she couldn't visit. But Stephanie was insistent and Felicia gave in. But before heading to her mother's house, Felicia retrieved the sandwich size Ziploc Storage Bag from her purse and swallowed a big white pill.

Then Caitlin entered the coffee house and found Thomas sitting at a table. She thanked him for meeting with her. She told him that she never meant to hurt him. Thomas was naturally a little cold towards her. He wished she would have been honest with him about her feelings for Rick. Caitlin knew he was right, but hadn't known how to tell him. Thomas got tough and told the intern that Rick would only hurt her. He was too old for her. He'd been married. He had a kid! Caitlin said she wanted to remain friends, but she didn't want him badmouthing Rick. She then gave back the bracelet Thomas had given her. She didn't deserve it. Thomas replied that he didn't want the jewelry either. She could throw it away for all he cared. Caitlin had to leave for work and told Thomas that she would always consider him a friend. Thomas let her leave in silence.

By coincidence, Amber was also at Insomnia daydreaming about her steamy semi-encounter with Thomas. She saw Caitlin leave and went over to give Thomas a feel-better hug. (I know what would REALLY make him feel better, Amber.)

At Thorne's Beach House, the blonde Forrester convinced Darla to go to work with him that day. Everyone had made mistakes. There would be no trouble in his family forgiving her for accidentally giving the Ingénue Designs to Sally. But that wasn't the case at all, when Thorne and Darla arrived at Forrester Creations, the security guard informed them of a memo he had received that morning. Darla was not allowed in the building. Relieved that she didn't have to face anyone, Darla took off as Thorne vowed to get to the bottom of the problem.

Up in Thorne's office, Rick, Samantha, and Ridge discussed the success of the Ingénue line. Ridge expressed his dismay that his sister-in-law had undermined their best intentions. Ridge was also upset that Rick was jeopardizing the line by messing around with Caitlin. Sam said the her daughter was speaking to Thomas that morning. When Rick left the office, he ran into Caitlin. She was upset over her encounter with Thomas. Rick hugged her for comfort.

A little later, Thorne entered his office and was furious to find Ridge there. He suspected that Ridge had directed security to keep Darla out of the building. Ridge said they had to protect their investments. Thorne reminded his brother that he was the president and everything had to go through him. Ridge was particularly smarmy and announced he'd do whatever he wanted. Enraged, Thorne fired Ridge! Ridge refused to go and said they should let Eric and Stephanie decided which brother was more important to the company.

Episode Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2004

Felicia showed up at the Forrester mansion at her mother's request. Stephanie was happy to see her, although the Forrester baby was dubious. In fact, Felicia wondered where the rest of the family was. She couldn't believe Stephanie only wanted to see her and play catch up. But that's what Stephanie intended to do. She asked Felicia lots of questions about her life. Felicia immediately became defensive. Why the sudden interest? Ridge seemed to be the offspring that demanded all the attention. Stephanie hadn't even called Felicia over the past year. La Forrester apologized, but said Ridge had gone through a crisis and needed her support. If Felicia had needed her, she would have been there for her, but none of her children were the single center of her world. (Hmmm, true, but not a very loving, maternal thing to say.) Felicia flew off the handle and told her mother to shove her phony concern. Stephanie now knew something was wrong and asked her daughter if she was "doing drugs." Felicia denied the accusation and cursed Nick for getting involved. Stephanie offered to help in any way she could, but Felicia wanted none of it. She instructed her mother not to call her and ran out the door. Obviously upset, Felicia ran her finger through her hair. (Isn't this exactly the same type of scenes that Stephanie and Kirsten had when Kirsten returned a couple of years ago? My, give me a capital "D" and I'll spell "dysfunctional" for you. And if a "B" is around, how about "been there, done that.")

Over at Forrester Creations, Ridge and Thorne continued to argue in Thorne's office. "Little Brother" accused Ridge of wanting to come back home and take things over. "Big Brother" accused Thorne of not knowing what he was doing. Eric and Stephanie would have to choose one of them over the other. Eric arrived and told his sons to calm down. When he learned of their plan to pick one of the two, Eric said they had to work this out. They were both important players at the company. But Thorne and Ridge agreed there was no turning back. Things were too tense between them. As the argument progressed, Stephanie showed up. She had heard them yelling all the way down the hall. Thorne pressed the issue and said one of them had to go. He was the first born son and his loyalty could never be questioned. Ridge said he was the lifeblood of the company. Thorne pointed out that they could not work together any longer. It was bad for the business. Everyone knew they were at each others' throats and it was bad for morale. Stephanie said the answer was not in choosing one son over the other. The boys disagreed together and left the room. Eric and Stephanie were devastated. What were they going to do? (I'd suggest giving them a good spanking and sending them to bed without any supper! Spoiled brats! That's what you've got here! Spoiled rotten brats. If Ridge smirks one more time when talking to Thorne, I'll personally put him in time out.)

Meanwhile, Amber had invited Thomas to The Malibu Beach House for some boogie boarding/surfing/ kayaking….some sort of water sport. (I don't live near a beach. What the heck do I know what they were doing? And Thomas and Amber in swim suits. I guess I do know what the heck they're doing…and I know that no good can come of it!) Thomas offered to rub sunblock on Amber's shoulders, but she balked. With little convincing about the risks of skin cancer, however, she changed her mind. Thomas's mood took a dive when he saw the bracelet Caitlin had returned to him. After hearing about the gift, Amber told her ex-step-brother-in-law that he was young. He needed to learn that there could well be another chance. He just needed to have faith. Of course, Thomas put a few kisses on Amber and she kept trying to tell him they shouldn't be doing it. Thomas argued that he wasn't a kid any longer. He just needed someone to make it official. He wanted to have sex with Amber. (My! That's putting it on the line there.) Amber came up with a millions reasons why they shouldn't but Thomas said he just wanted to move things along. Amber was tempted and they started kissing some more.

I am wondered why I have felt the need to watch Caitlin and Rick's kissy scenes from behind my fingers but am actually kind of rooting for Thomas and Amber. I think it's because Amber and Thomas are so believable. Torn heroine that has never really done the right thing but has such good intentions meets horny, teenager just jilted by his platonic girlfriend. It makes sense. The hormones are raging and both could have ulterior motives. That's drama. But sweet, chaste Caitlin falling in love with a divorcee at least, let's say, six years her senior who is so noble, he'll barely touch her silky locks is such a fairy tale. Can't really see it happening. At least I can't believe Rick would be such a goodnick. However, with all four involved - and the tempestuous Rick/Amber history - I'm glued to the set.

And did I mention that Miss Adrienne Frantz is absolutely knocking my socks off?

Episode Date: Thursday, August 5, 2004

At Chez Ridge, the over-confident designer relaxed with a martini while lounging around with his shirt completely unbuttoned. (Now that's at ease!) Brooke joined her hubby and discussed their off-screen children. But their talk quickly turned to the ultimatum Ridge and Thorne had given to Stephanie and Eric. Ridge was confident that he would be the son chosen to stay at Forrester Creations. He was the star designer and that was what the fashion world was based on. Brooke had some reservations, however. Stephanie might try and get back at Ridge for marrying her. Ridge was sure his parents would do what was best for the company.

At the same time, Thorne and Darla had a very similar conversation at Thorne's beach house. Thorne remembered how Ridge had always overshadowed him through their childhood. Now it was time for him (Thorne) to shine. He was the actual Forrester heir and the most loyal of the sons. He was sure that his parents would choose him to keep working at Forrester Creations. Sally dropped by to apologize for her part in the current mess. She should never have stolen the Ingénue designs. Thorne forgave his pseudo-mother-in-law. He told her not to worry. He was going to be the victor over Ridge.

At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie and Eric wondered how on earth they had come to such a decision. Their two sons were at each others' throats. What were they to do? Their deliberations were interrupted by Darla coming for a visit. Darla said she knew they were mad at her, but Eric made it clear that they believed the fashion leak had been a complete accident. Relieved, Darla got to the point of her visit. She wanted to stick up for Thorne. He was so loyal. He would do anything for his family and his company. He had only begun to show them what he was capable of. He was the future of Forrester Creations. Eric and Stephanie thanked Darla for being so supportive of their son. Darla left. As she stood in the entry courtyard and looked for her keys in her purse, she noticed Brooke knocking on the front door.

Brooke has also come by to chat with Eric and Stephanie about their decision. She wanted to make sure that Stephanie's bitter feelings towards her did not affect their decision to keep Ridge. It was painfully obvious that Ridge was the heart and soul of Forrester Creations. Stephanie wasn't pleased with Brooke's interference, but Eric thanked her for her concern of the situation.

As Brooke left, she found Darla waiting for her in the courtyard. The two women quickly assessed they had come for the same reason. Darla told Brooke she had warned her the brotherly feud would erupt into something big. Darla once again suggested that Brooke talk to Ridge. He would listen to her and back off Thorne. In fact, Brooke could probably bring an end to the whole thing. But Brooke didn't think it was a good idea. Besides, it was Ridge's birthright to stay on at Forrester Creations. Darla pointed out that, for the record, Ridge wasn't really a Forrester at all. Brooke got ticked off and told Darla their conversation was officially over.

Back at Chez Ridge, Amber drove Thomas home in her car. She wanted him to get out of the car pronto so they weren't caught together by Ridge or Brooke. Thomas was inn favor of making out a little longer and discussing the "lesson" he wanted from her. Amber agreed to the kissy face, but said they were not going to have sex. Thomas self-assuredness was a constant reminder that he was Ridge's son. As the couple kissed, Ridge called Thomas's name from the front door. The teen scurried from the car was Amber peeled rubber to get away. Inside, Ridge greeted his son with his shirt still open and a toothpick sticking out of his mouth! (What on earth is that about? I watched the opening scene again and each to the olives in Ridge's martini had a toothpick in it. So that explains why he has a toothpick. It does not, explain, however, why he's walking around like a hayseed with it sticking between his lips. It's tacky! Is he supposed to look authoritative or macho? Loose the pick, Ridge.) But I digress. Ridge wanted to know who Thomas's lip lock partner was. When Thomas said it was just a girl and he'd like to keep his life private, Ridge sent him up to his room. Ridge look concerned as he continued to suck the life out of that toothpick.

Back the Forrester mansion, Eric and Stephanie agreed their was really only one logical choice to make.

Episode Date: Friday, August 6, 2004

It was the following day…the day of "the" decision…a day of anticipation…and not much else.

As Thorne's Beach House, he and Darla discussed what "the" decision might be. Darla had confidence that Thorne would be the victor. He had proven his loyalty to the family and to the company time and time again. Darla told her hubby about visiting his parents the previous evening and seeing Brooke there to lobby for Ridge as well. She had seemed very confident that her toothpick-chewing spouse was going to be staying on. Enough with the waiting! Eric and Stephanie called to invite both Thorne and Darla to Eric office to hear "the" decision.

Over at Chez Ridge, Ridge and Brooke sat on their couch and chowed down on some tasty looking French pastries. Felicia (who had been outside making a nasty phone call to Nick for ratting out her pill popping to Stephanie) joined them for an éclair. Ridge explained to her about "the" decision that was being made that day. Felicia thought it was odd that the brothers were pitted against each other, but had to say that Ridge was the odds on favorite. (Uh, Ridge, it looks like there's something in your teeth. Perhaps you need to suck on a toothpick for a little while.) Brooke took the call from Eric and Stephanie inviting them to come for the revelation of "the" decision. Before taking off, Ridge asked Felicia to quiz Thomas about the chick he'd been seen making out with.

After Ridge and Brooke left, Thomas came down stairs for a pain de chocolate. (I'd bet he'd rather have one of the tasty Krispy Kremes from the strip mall down in the valley.) Felicia chatted him up about his love life. When he explained that the girl he'd been kissing and he were just having fun, Felicia said it all sounded good to her. But she advised him to keep his father close and as a friend. It was a good thing to be able to relate to your parents. She had learned the hard way that once the bond was broken, it could never be repaired.

In Eric's office at Forrester Creations, Eric and Stephanie were extremely somber. The agreed that "he" would not understand. La Forrester also managed to slip in that she feared Felicia had a drug problem. Since she had failed to reach their daughter, Eric needed to intervene. Eric put that problem on his list of things to fix…as soon as "the" decision was revealed. Thorne and Darla showed up. Ridge and Brooke showed up. Everyone gathered around the conference and before too long the brothers were at each others' throats once again. Eric had had it. He had hoped the two of them could settle their differences like adults. But that was not going to happen. Ridge was cocky and obnoxious. He told his father to put Thorne out of his misery. Tell him that he was leaving the company.

"Yes, someone is leaving. But it's not going to be Thorne" Eric said. Cue the dramatic music and focus on a very confused Ridge. (He's really going to need that toothpick now.)

But note that Eric didn't say Ridge was leaving either. I think it's a trick.

Episode Date: Monday, August 9, 2004

It was a trick! I knew it was a trick! I told you it was a trick! I was right! It was a trick! Eric said that someone was leaving Forrester Creations and it wasn't going to be Thorne. But it wasn't Ridge either! Eric announced that he was leaving the company. He was going to retire. He had built the company for his family and now it was tearing them apart. He wanted nothing more to do with it. Thorne and Ridge could divide the company. They could sell it for all he cared. Thorne and Ridge were astounded. They didn't want their father to leave. No way! Either of them would leave before it came to that. But Brooke noticed that Stephanie was shocked at Eric's announcement as well. Obviously, this was not the decision the two of them had made together. Yeah, said Ridge and Thorne. Who had they chosen to leave the company? Eric said it didn't matter now that he had chosen to retire. Stephanie intervened and screamed that there was no way she'd allow Eric to retire. Thorne and Ridge were adults (they are?) and could work this out. But that just led to yet another argument between the brothers. They had to know what the decision had been! (Umm, isn't this where we left off yesterday? And I've got to tell you, I'm sick and tried of this bickering between Thorne and Ridge. They are simply spoiled brats that need a good over-the-knee spanking! Rich kids! Ugh!)

Over at Marone Industries, Massimo told Deacon that he no longer needed Jackie followed. Jackie burst into the office at that moment. She had received his message and rushed over to see him. Jackie had hoped Mass wanted to reconcile, but instead he delivered divorce papers! (Jackie looked a little queasy.) Mass treated Jackie horribly and badgered her with insults. Deacon tried to stop the torment, but Mass insisted it was no longer any of his concern.

Jackie ran from the office and returned to her penthouse. Deacon followed to offer comfort. Jackie cried that she needed forgiveness. She needed Mass to forgive her and take her back. Deacon replied that she had to forgive herself. She deserved so much better than the way Mass was treating her. She had to sign the divorce papers. Mass was doing her a favor by ending the marriage. And Deacon wanted to help her out in any way he could.

At the Malibu Beach House, Amber received a huge bouquet of flowers. She was certain the delivery was a mistake. But Thomas showed up and owned up that he had sent the flowers. Amber was touched by his thoughtfulness. However, Amber tried to make it clear that nothing could happen between them. He was a kid. And if Ridge found out they were getting together, there would hell to pay. Thomas replied that Ridge already knew he was kissing someone - but just not who. That was the last straw! Amber was going to cut off all ties to Thomas. But the teen said they weren't doing anything wrong. He was enjoying just spending time with her. Just think of the things they could do together. Amber laid down the law. There was no "them." It was over.

Episode Date: Tuesday, August 10, 2004

Felicia dropped aboard the Shady Marlin to give Nick heck for telling Stephanie about the pills in her purse. But Nick was proud that Felicia had finally talked to her mother although it didn't go all that well. Felicia was furious. She yelled that Nick needed to mind his own business. She didn't need his help. She was doing just fine. Nick responded that he knew what it was like to be alone. He liked Felicia. He thought she was attractive and intelligent. He wanted her to face her problems - not hide from them behind drugs. Felicia said Nick didn't know anything about her. Felicia then became a little flushed and grabbed onto a counter. (Hmm, what's up with that?) Nick asked if she was all right. Felicia went on deck and said she just needed some air. (Oh yeah. Soap clue #761. If I were a betting man…and you know what, I am….I'd say Felicia is sick. The drugs are not recreational, they are medicinal! Now don't bet the farm, but I'm going to give pretty good odds.) When Felicia left, Nick rummaged through her purse and pulled out the ZipLoc bags of drugs. He called up his good friend "Doc" (yeah, you remember Doc, don't you?) and described the pills and their markings. Perhaps Doc could tell him what they were. (However, if they are prescription drugs for some malady, wouldn't they be in bottles from a pharmacy? Unless of course she bought them over the internet.)

Meanwhile, at Forrester Creations, Rick and Caitlin discussed the success of the Ingénue fashion show. They were happy and in love and made me slip in to a sugar coma. Rick suggested they go away again to the Big Bear cabin. They couldn't quite get their schedules to coordinate and Rick worried about what Caitlin would tell her father. He didn't like the idea of her lying to Hector. Caitlin agreed but they decided to plan a getaway together very soon. It just so happened that Amber had been standing behind a big pile of boxes and heard the entire conversation. After Caitlin left, Amber approached Rick and told him he wasn't thinking. Rick was upset that Amber had been eavesdropping. Amber asked what would happen if it had been Ridge listening instead. Amber admitted she was lonely and wanted another chance with him. She wanted him to be happy. Rick said he was happy…with Caitlin. (Ouch! That had to hurt.) Amber started to cry and asked if it really was Caitlin. Maybe it was her. Was she not good enough for Rick? Amber told Rick to look her in the eye and tell her she wasn't good enough for him. Always dutiful, Rick looked Amber in the eye and told her she wasn't good enough for him. (Double ouch! That one's going to leave a mark.) Rick walked off. And it just so happened that Thomas had been standing behind a rack of clothes and heard the entire conversation.

Up in Eric's office, the patriarch had had enough. His sons wanted to hear the results so badly, then they would hear them. Stephanie and Eric had agonized all night over the decision. But if they had to choose, they would choose RIDGE! Design was the heart of their business and Ridge was a great designer. That did no diminish any of Thorne's contributions, but Ridge was a necessity. Thorne was in shock. He couldn't believe it. Darla lashed out and said they had made a big mistake. Eric reached out and said they could go down to Thorne's old office and make it nicer for him. (I wasn't aware that this was a decision about who'd have that office across the hall. But I guess Thorne is being evicted!) Darla scoffed that Thorne didn't want a new office, he wanted his father's respect. But downstairs they went - everyone - even Brooke and Ridge. Thorne was still shell shocked and mute. He heard the bickering between Darla and his parents. Eric tried to explain that they still needed him. His relationships with the buyers, the suppliers, and the staff could not be duplicated. Suddenly Thorne woke up. He screamed that nothing had changed. Ridge was still the favored one…and he wasn't even a Forrester for crying out loud. Thorne was fed up with playing the good guy. He was not going to forgive and forget this time.

Episode Date: Wednesday, August 11, 2004

On the Shady Marlin, Nick told his doctor friend about the pills in Felicia's purse. Nick had heard of one of the drugs and knew that it was highly addictive. When he heard Felicia returning, Nick got off the phone and pretended he was reading a map. Felicia was in sex kitten mode and suggested they didn't even have to talk. Nick replied that batting her eyelashes wouldn't change the subject. He wanted to hear about her talk with Stephanie. Felicia said it was too late. (Why is it too late? Time running out, Felicia?) She had hoped she and her mother could finally get along, but she would never listen. Nick told her to make herself heard if she really wanted change things. Nick played with some rope and learned that the youngest Forrester knew a thing about knots when she bound his hands. (Kinky!) When Nick's phone rang, Felicia told the caller Nick was "tied up." (Now that's original.) But she held the phone to Nick's ear. It was "Doc." He had "bad news" for Nick. Felicia said she was sorry and got ready to leave. Nick apologized for being wrong (wrong about what?) and said he'd like to see her again. Felicia responded that she might fall for him and left. (Becky redux.)

After her disastrous encounter with Rick, Amber went home to the Malibu Beach House and cried her eyes out. Thomas followed her and wanted to help her out, but she insisted he leave. Instead, he produced a present….a necklace. (What's with all the gifts, dude? Bracelet for Caitlin, flowers and necklace for Amber. You got way too much disposable income.) Amber bellowed that she didn't want his gift. She didn't want him. He was a kid. She didn't need a "scrawny, inexperienced kid", she needed a man. (Well, he's a little on the thin side, sweetie, but I wouldn't call him scrawny. And there's no need to call people names anyway.) Amber ordered him to leave and ran to her bedroom. But Thomas didn't leave. He followed her and found her on the bed, crying like there was no tomorrow. He sat on the bed and gently told her he wasn't going to leave her. He wanted to help her out. (Aw. That's so sweet.) But look out, he kissed her. She kissed him back and then they were going at it like bunnies!

But the powerhouse scenes today took place in Thorne's old office at Forrester Creations. I can't tell you how wonderful, moving, and exciting it was. Everyone - and I mean everyone - was so perfect. What a great story. Thorne exploded! He couldn't believe that he had believed everything his mother and father had told him about family loyalty and dedication. Instead, they had chosen the hot head brother over him. Ridge, who had run away to become a Marone, was still the favored one. Eric and Stephanie tried to make Thorne understand their position. They didn't want either son to leave. Thorne's role was important to the company. But Thorne wouldn't listen. He got hotter and hotter and finally picked up a chair and smashed it through a window! He overturned a file cabinet. Darla begged her husband to calm down to no avail. Thorne screamed that he had been the patsy for the last time. He was leaving and they would be very sorry for what they had done. Darla ran after Thorne but discovered he had left. When Eric offered to give her a ride home, she declined. Thorne had dedicated his life to helping his family business - and this was the thanks he got. Stephanie asked Darla to make sure Thorne knew they were sorry. Darla replied she would do no such thing. She had been so proud to be a Forrester when she married Thorne. Now she didn't know what to think of them.

I can't tell you how wonderful all the actors were today. Mr. Winsor Harmon portrayed Thorne's building rage and years of pent up frustration beautifully. Smashing a window and overturning furniture could have been over the top, but it made perfect sense. How else could he express his extreme emotions. And Miss Schae Harrison had to stand by and show Darla's support of her husband while truly being afraid of what he might do. Her reaction to his outburst was to try and calm him down but quickly turned to hysterics as she realized she couldn't control his actions - actions she didn't think he was possible of. And best of all, Miss Susan Flannery. I cried as she cried. It was amazing to hear Stephanie's voice crack as she begged Thorne not to leave. Never have we heard such desperation come from Stephanie. But there it was. Stephanie doesn't cry at the drop of a hat - like some characters - so when she does, you know there is no other recourse. In the hands of the superb Miss Flannery it was believable and heartbreaking! Bravo and kudos to everyone involved in today's scenes. Wonderful! Superb! Excellent!

Thorne went home to his beach house where Sally was babysitting Alexandria. He told her what had happened. She understood his loss and promised to take him into the Spectra fold. She would love and respect him as if he were her own son.

Hey wait just a minute! Thorne drove home without Darla? He left her stranded at Forrester Creations with no way to get home? Now that wasn't so nice, was it?

Episode Date: Thursday, August 12, 2004

Eric and Stephanie returned to Eric's office at Forrester Creations and lamented how their decision had affected Thorne. But there was no rest for the wicked because Sally was waiting in the office to give them the what for…to read them the riot act…to call them on the carpet…to rip them a new…oops, sorry, I got carried away there. Sally reported that Thorne was devastated and would probably never forgive them. Stephanie and Eric tried to explain the difficult position they had been put in, but Sally wouldn't listen. She scolded them for treating Thorne in such a shabby manner. (And you know, she was right.)

At Thorne's Beach House, Darla somehow found a ride home. (What would that be, a $200 cab ride from LA? Perhaps she took a bus.) Thorne apologized for leaving her stranded at Forrester Creations, but Darla replied that it gave her time to talk to his family. She relayed that they were terribly sorry for what had happened. Thorne agreed that they would be sorry. He was tired of being Mr. Nice Guy. He wasn't going to play the patsy any longer. Darla reminded Thorne that his loyalty and honesty were very good qualities and they were one of the many reasons she loved him. (That and the fact that he'd doff his shirt at the drop of a hat.) Thorne agreed and stated that he'd take his good qualities somewhere they would really be appreciated.

A little later, at Thorne's request, Sally came back to Thorne's Beach House. He had a proposition. How about he come to work for her at Spectra Fashions! With his knowledge of the "rag trade" and her savvy for the spectacle, they'd become a force to be reckoned with. Sally asked what would happen if his parents begged him to come back. No way, said Thorne! Sally and Thorne shook hands on their new business venture.

Over at Chez Ridge, the fabulous designer and Brooke discussed how it was sad, but Thorne had really had it coming. (Oh! The arrogance!) They decided they should talk to Thomas and tell him what had happened before he heard it at work the next day. (Thomas works? I guess he's got to pay for all those gifts somehow.) Ridge called Thomas on his cell phone. But Thomas was busy canoodling with Amber and told his father to buzz off! Furious, Ridge located Thomas's car through some satellite tracking system used to find your car if it's stolen. He discovered it was in Malibu. Ridge knew he was at the beach house…and off he went.

While at the Malibu Beach House, Amber admitted she was grateful Thomas had not left. So the kissed a little bit longer. Amber made it clear that she thought Thomas was a great person, but there could be nothing between them. His family didn't hold her in the highest regard. Thomas suggested that they simply not tell anyone. He wanted to be her lover! Amber appreciated his interest and even accepted the necklace she had originally told him to keep. As they got down to business, Ridge burst through the door of the Malibu Beach House and headed for the bedroom. Luckily by the time he entered, Amber had dived under the blankets. Ridge bellowed for Thomas and his paramour to get out of the bed right that instant.

Ah, that's right. Ridge and his family didn't know that Amber was living at the house. Oh, this is good.

Episode Date: Friday, August 13, 2004

It was family game night at Caitlin's house. While Hector and Jimmy were microwaving the popcorn in the kitchen (Orville Redenbacher's Movie Theater Butter, I hope), Caitlin and Samantha talked about Rick. The teen admitted that she had told Rick she loved him. Sam desperately wanted her daughter to come clean with Hector, but Caitlin said he wouldn't understand. She assured her mother that things were moving very slowly. The guys returned and a rousing game of charades ensued. Although Caitlin did the worst imitation of a bunny I've ever seen, she and Jimmy pulled ahead in the standings. Then it was Hector's turn. But he had more on his mind that some silly parlor game. He acted out the phrase "Will you marry me" and presented Samantha with a diamond ring. Taken by surprise, Sam got some encouragement from Jimmy and Caitlin. And then she said "yes." (Hey, don't let that popcorn get cold.)

Over at Chez Ridge, Rick stopped by for a chat with good ol' mom. He told her about his relationship with Caitlin. He thought he was in love, but assured her that things were taking a slow pace. Brooke was happy for her son. After his disastrous marriage(S) to Amber, she feared he'd be hooked by here forever. Rick said he was over Amber and was ready to move on. Although Brooke wished Caitlin were a few years older, she knew what a fine young woman she was. Hey, where's Ridge? Brooke explained that he had gone to track down Thomas. It seemed that he had a new girlfriend they knew nothing about. Brooke was sure that Thomas and Ridge were simply discussing life over dinner. Bonding time, you know.

Far from it. At The Malibu Beach House, Ridge had morphed into a raging lunatic. Amber was hiding under the blankets and Ridge demanded that Thomas's mystery date reveal herself. Thomas convinced his father to simply leave and not embarrass his friend. Thomas had almost pushed his dad out the door when the phone rang. Wait, thought Ridge, this was a vacant house. Thomas quickly interjected that it must be a wrong number. (If it's a vacant house, why would the phone line even be connected, Einstiens?) But then Amber's answering machine picked up the call and Ridge recognized the voice. He scrambled back into the bedroom and yanked Amber from the bed. Yikes!

Ridge called her a "scheming gold digger" and knew that she was trying to weasel her way back into the Forrester family. She had seduced Rick and lost him, now she was going after the next young, impressionable family member. (Hey buddy! If you want to talk about women going to Forrester man after Forrester man, go see your wife!) But I digress. When Ridge discovered that Rick had permitted Amber to live at The Malibu Beach House he rescinded the offer and threw her out on her ear. Thomas protested that nothing had happened. They had done nothing wrong. Amber concurred that she and Thomas were just friends. She cried as Ridge tossed her belonging into a suitcase and hauled them out on the deck. He took the keys and locked her out. Thomas tried to defend her, but Ridge ordered his son to wait in the car. Outside, Ridge picked up a burning tiki torch and in a menacing voice told Amber that if she ever came near Thomas again, he'd see her "burn in hell." (Oh come one. He threatened her with a tiki torch? How absolutely lame is that? A tiki torch used as a metaphor for the fires of hell. Well, come to think of it, the lawn and garden department at my local WalMart is a pretty scary place. I'm beginning to see what he's talking about.) Ridge stormed off and Amber had the fear of God put in her. But as she clasped her neck - as stressed people often do - she touched the necklace Thomas had given her. He fear changed suddenly and a sly, "scheming gold digger" look crossed her face.

Get him, Amber. You're a million times better than mean ol' Ridge! What a bully.

Oh, this is rich. You aren't going to believe this one. I can't even believe it.

I was not able to watch today's episode of "The" show because my boyfriend is addicted to the Summer Olympics. He added "summer Olympics" to our season pass list on the TIVO. And you know what he did? He gave it top priority! Can you believe that? I have know him for 10 years! I watched "The" show before I met him. I have had this web site for 5 years now! The Bold and the Beautiful has always had the #1 priority spot on the TIVO season pass list.

His excuse…."I forgot." Forgot!?! My Aunt Fanny! You just don't forget that I am addicted to "The" show. You just don't forget that I am in love and still pinning away for Miss Jennifer Finnigan. You just don't forget that I'm seriously considering changing my hair color to match that of the fierce Miss Adrienne Frantz because she is so darn hot. You just don't forget how I worship the ground Miss Susan Flannery walks upon. You just don't forget that I love Miss Bobbie Eakes and have started watching All My Children again just so I can see her once or twice a week. You just don't forget that Miss Leslie-Anne Down is the most gracious actor I have ever met (and I met a lot waiting tables in NYC) and I want her to come help me pick out paint colors for my new house.

AND…when you enter a new show for a season pass on TIVO, it automatically puts it at the end of the priority list. You have to manually move it up to the #1 spot. Forgot indeed!

So if any of you dear, faithful readers would like to fill me in on what happened today, I'd be most appreciative.

But I do have to admit that men's gymnastics is not without its appeal. I'm sure hungry. I could go for a Hamm sandwich.

Episode Date: Tuesday, August 17, 2004

First the big news. On the opening billboard, Oscar was out and Felicia was in. Buh bye Oscar.

Second, I still don't know what happened on Monday's episode. Many of you wrote in to tell me how much you enjoyed my write up of what happened with my Olympic-obsessed, TIVO-challenged boyfriend. However, none of my dear readers seemed concerned that I missed "The" show. While I appreciate your undying adoration of all things Mr. Smartypants, there are important things….like "The" show.

Oh who am I kidding. There's nothing more important than undying adoration. Keep those cards and letters coming.

Third, on with "The" show. At Chez Ridge, Brooke and Ridge enjoyed some morning juice and coffee. They were concerned about Thomas's involvement with Amber. Ridge decided he had to get Rick involved to fix the situation.

Over in Eric's office at Forrester Creations, Caitlin showed Rick some of the new Ingénue designs. (May I say, I've walked the streets of NYC and seen working girls - and you know what I mean - wearing less trashy clothing than these fashions.) After the models left, Caitlin told Rick about her father proposing to Samantha. Rick was happy, but also sad that he could not celebrate with her family. His relationship with Caitlin meant everything to him. Caitlin was pleased to hear that because he had not responded when she professed her love "the other night." Rick apologized and said he should have said something right then and there because he loved her too! (Up went my hands over my face. Darn! And I thought I was over that! Perhaps there's a 12 step program to help me.) But their kiss was interrupted by Ridge calling Rick and ordering him over to Chez Ridge immediately. (I don't like Ridge as the new Stephanie.)

So Rick went to Chez Ridge and learned that Thomas had been found canoodling with Amber. Ridge's solution to the problem? Rick needed to break up with Caitlin. (Yeah, that's a good plan, Stan. That will solve everything.) Rick said that wouldn't solve anything. (My point exactly!) Caitlin didn't like Thomas "in that way." No, Rick decided that he could get through to Amber and convince her to stay away from Thomas.

Upstairs, Thomas was frantically trying to call Amber on her cell phone. But she was at Insomnia going through the newspaper looking for a place to live and ignoring his phone calls. (You all know that cell phones have a little display screen. You can see the phone number of the person calling - or even program the phone to display the caller name. Modern technology! It's amazing!) As Amber poured over the want ads, Caitlin arrived and ordered an iced mocha latte. Seeing Amber, she cheerily asked to join her. For some reason, Amber's brusque response did not deter the teen. Caitlin did get the cold shoulder and said there was no reason they couldn't still be friends. Amber said Rick was the reason they still couldn't be friends. Caitlin suggested that Amber move on and noticed her ignoring repeated phone calls from someone…a guy, probably. When Amber went for more coffee, Caitlin picked up Amber's cell phone when it rang again. She noticed the name "Thomas" on the display screen and answered it! (What?!? Did Caitlin also attend the Kimberly Fairchild School of Stalking? No matter what, would you answer someone else's cell phone. Oh wait, I just did the other day. I walked into a furniture store and there were strollers for little tots right by the door. Someone had left their purse in the back compartment of the stroller. I picked up the purse and was taking it to the store office when the cell phone in the purse rang. I answered it, thinking it might be the person who had left the purse behind trying to locate it. It turned out to be the lady's son. I told the son the location of the purse and to let his mother know it was OK. While I was still in the store, the lady returned for her purse. Happy ending, but that blows my theory about answering someone else's cell phone.) But I digress. Amber flipped when she found Caitlin on her phone and hung up on Thomas. Caitlin was disgusted that Amber was involved with Thomas. She was obviously using him to get back at Rick. Amber said it was no different than Caitlin dating Rick. Caitlin accused Amber of some awful things and left.

Amber's thoughts were cheered when Rick called her and demanded to see her right away. She explained she'd be at her new place and he could meet her there. (The address is 1304 Melrose, Apt #23. Rick repeated it out loud so he wouldn't forget. And wouldn't you know it, Thomas heard him say it!) Rick left Chez Ridge and Thomas snuck out as well.

Amber went to her new place - and it was a D-U-M-P! (You can tell it's a dump because when the bathroom door was open, you could see the toilet bowl! Can you ever see the toilet at the Forrester mansion or Chez Ridge? I think not!) Rick showed up and told Amber to stay away from Thomas. She tried to explain that Thomas was trying to make her feel better. Was it so wrong for her to let someone be nice to her? Apparently Rick thought so and he said he would not allow Amber to do to Thomas what she had done to him.

Episode Date: Wednesday, August 18, 2004

Thanks to everyone - and there were many of you - who wrote with an update of Monday's episode. For those of you who depend on me to know what's going on….Amber went to Insomnia after being evicted from The Malibu Beach House. Oscar was there and learned what had happened. He said he understood Ridge's need to protect his son. Ridge took Thomas home where the teen explained how he and Amber had met and become friends. Ridge sent his son to his room. Brooke was horrified at the developments, but suggested that Ridge try to be a friend to Thomas and understand his pain. Ridge went to his son and apologized for coming down so hard. Thomas understood why Ridge was upset and they hugged. (Boy, wouldn't my life be easier if I made each day's update that short? But what fun would that be?)

At Forrester Creations, movers were in action taking Thorne's belongings out of Ridge's old office. (Which, I guess, is now Ridge's office again.) When Ridge arrived, Megan popped her head in to tell him the press was calling non-stop to get the scoop on Thorne's ouster. Ridge said they would issue a statement. Sensing Ridge's mood was not good, Megan told the movers to finish their job later. (And they were not even big, burly movers.) A little later, Caitlin came to Ridge's office and he invited her in. He wanted her to end her relationship with Rick. She was jeopardizing her career. Look, she was on the cover of Eye On Fashion Magazine. If the scandal got out that she was underage and dating one of her bosses, the whole Ingénue line could go down the drain. Caitlin stood firm and replied that she was in love with Rick and that meant more to her than anything. Ridge said he wasn't giving an ultimatum. But he did want Hector to learn the truth. Caitlin agreed that she'd tell her father about the relationship that very evening. After Ridge left, Caitlin received a phone call from her dad. He wanted to tell her that a big storm was headed their way. It looked like a mean one. (OK! Soap Clue #59. Storm = something bad happening. It's as easy as that.) Caitlin agreed to go home right away. But after hanging up, Caitlin noticed she had a voicemail from Rick. He wanted her to stop by his house. There was a key under the plant by the door. (Don't give out that information Rick! Now anyone can break into your house!) Caitlin forgot all about the promise to her father and headed to Rick's house.

Ridge returned to his office later and chatted with Megan. He hoped that Caitlin revealing her love for Rick to Hector would put an end to the whole mess.

At The Dump (that's Amber's new place on Melrose), Rick continued to bad mouth his ex-wife. She had told him she would do anything to get back into the Forrester family, didn't she? She was using Thomas to do that. Amber said she had meant she'd do anything to get back with Rick because she loved him. She was not using Thomas. He had been a very good friend to. Rick wasn't buying it and accused Amber of manipulating young Thomas. Speaking of which, young Thomas burst through the door and told Rick to shut his pie hole. Rick tried to get Thomas to see how cunning Amber could be. But Thomas responded that he knew all about Amber. She didn't hide the truth from him. Rick was a liar and a hypocrite. He had stolen Caitlin from him and was now hiding the relationship from her father. Things got a little physical when Thomas slammed Rick against the wall. Amber begged the guys not to fight. Thomas relented and Rick took off, but he told Thomas he had been warned. Thomas was furious and got ready to leave. He instructed a distraught Amber to call him if she needed anything. As Thomas left, the thunder cracked and rain started to pour.

Rick arrived home soaking wet. He found Caitlin waiting for him in the dark. (She explained that she didn't know where the light switch was. It's right by the door, sweetie. Where light switches are about 99% of the time.) Caitlin was soaked as well. Rick got some towels, but they decided body heat was a much better was to stay warm. Caitlin told Rick about her conversation with Ridge, but she was not going to give him up. As they embraced and kissed, Rick said his visit with Amber made him realize how perfect Caitlin was for him. As they smooched some more, Rick said he "wanted her" he "wanted them to be together." Caitlin said she wanted that as well. Rick picked Caitlin up and carried her upstairs. (So much for taking it slow, eh?)

Thomas arrived at the firehouse. (I noticed he was smart enough to be carrying an umbrella. I guess is was sexier for Rick and Caitlin to be wet as they prepared for a session of lovemaking. Nothing sexy about a firehouse. Wouldn't want Hector and all his life-saving buddies running around in tight wet T-shirts, now would we? They'd have to peel them off and hit the showers right away. Nope. Nothing sexy there at all.) But I digress. Thomas found Hector polishing a big, shiny hatchet. (Big shiny hatchet! That's subtle with a capital "B".) Thomas said he had something to tell about Caitlin. Hector immediately went into protective father mode and asked if there was a problem.

Please note, Thomas, he's still holding a big, shiny hatchet.

Episode Date: Thursday, August 19, 2004

Nick stopped by Chez Ridge to see Felicia. After a cute little hug from Hope, Nick suggested he and Felicia go out for some fun that evening. However, Felicia said she had bigger plans - a good book and a pint of pistachio ice cream. (Try Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Crunch, honey. It's incredible. Not as good as Chubby Hubby, but I can't find that one any more. I've got to move on.) Nick said he thought Felicia had said she could fall for him. Didn't she want to give him a chance? She responded that he was too serious. At this point in her life, all she could handle was a good time. Nick questioned if she didn't mean she didn't think he could handle it. Nick explained that he had found out what the pills he found in her purse were for. He was so sorry. Felicia broke down and cried. Nick held her. He was so very, very sorry. (Hey kids! You want to fill us in on what those pills are for? I'm sure it's not good news, but I'd still like you to be a little more specific.)

At the firehouse, Hector just would not put down that big, shiny, sharp hatchet. He demanded to know what Thomas knew about Caitlin. Thomas said that Caitlin wasn't who either of them thought she was. She had been lying all summer about her boyfriend. Thomas said she had dumped him. Hector was confused. Caitlin had been spending time with a boy all summer. He assumed it was Thomas. Caitlin wouldn't lie to him. Oh, but she did, Thomas spilled. She was seeing Rick! Hector couldn't believe it. Rick was "in his 20's! He was divorced!" Thomas said it was true, he had caught them kissing at the fashion show and they admitted they were seeing each other. Hector was livid. He threw down the big, shiny, sharp hatchet and left. (Damn! I was hoping he was going to use that big, shiny, sharp hatchet to break down Rick's door.) Hector went home and told Samantha what Thomas had revealed. Seeing Sam's reaction, he knew that she had known all along. Sam admitted that Caitlin had confided her feelings to her. She didn't want to betray her daughter's trust. Hector screamed that he would not tolerated being lied to.

Over at Rick's place - which is Brooke's old house - the gentleman carried Caitlin to his bedroom. There was lots of kissy face and Caitlin said she had always dreamed of the man she would love - of all the qualities he would have. And Rick far surpassed all her imaginings. It was so perfect that she didn't want to hide their relationship any longer. She was going to tell her father about them that very night. (After some sweet lovin', however.) Caitlin went to the bathroom to slip into a robe. When she returned, Rick had lit candles all around the room. Caitlin was impressed with how romantic he was. Rick explained that her first time (he meant first sexual encounter) should be special - unlike his first time with Amber. But now that he was in love and committed to the Caitlin, this was like his first time as well. As they smooched some more, Caitlin's phone rang she ignored it. Unfortunately, it was Hector trying to reach her. Rick and Caitlin moved to the bed and got tangled up in the sheets. Rick could sense that Caitlin was nervous. He didn't want to rush her. They would have plenty of night ahead of them. Caitlin agreed that they should wait. Her phone rang again. This time she answered it. It was Samantha instructing her to come home immediately. Caitlin got dressed and thanked Rick for being so understanding. They kissed and she left.

As Rick snuffed out the candles (and prepared for a cold shower, I'd assume) Thomas entered the room. (What? He just walked in the front door? Don't these people ever use locks?) Thomas said he knew Caitlin had been there. He saw her leave. But their little love affair was going to be over because now everyone knew about it. Rick was upset. What had Thomas done?

Caitlin got home and was not greeted very warmly. Hector demanded to know where she had been and what she had been doing.

Episode Date: Friday, August 20, 2004

At Chez Ridge, Felicia told Nick she didn't need him and tried to throw him out of the house. But Nick said he was used to giving orders, not taking them. He knew she was scared of death, but he wasn't. He was a sailor and he couldn't fear death and do his job. He had lost a lot of people he cared about at sea. He could help her. Felicia explained she had colon cancer. The tumor could have been developing for 6 or 7 years. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes - stage 3. She had recently had a CAT scan done to see if it had spread to her liver or lungs - which would be stage 4 and the prognosis would not be good. She had gone through one round of chemotherapy and hoped that would stall the spread. She was to receive the test results that night. Nick wanted to go to the doctor's office with her for good luck. Later, at the clinic, Felicia was grateful for Nick's support. The doctor arrived with the results. Good or bad? Don't know. Have to wait 'till Monday. (And I am so sick of these characters going to doctor's appointments in the middle of the night! No doctor has office hours when it's dark outside. It's just stupid and I wish they'd stop pretending that it really happens. Because everything else on a soap opera is based in total reality.)

At Rick's place, Thomas was smug as he explained that he had done Caitlin a favor by telling Hector about her relationship with Rick. Rick accused Thomas of not caring about Caitlin at all. He was just getting back at Rick for telling him to stay away from Amber. It was revenge. Thomas replied that he wasn't a kid any longer. No one could tell him what to do. Rick had better get ready. Hector was probably on his way over to confront him soon. Thomas took off.

Over at Caitlin's house, the teen realized her father knew the truth about her seeing Rick. She questioned if Samantha had revealed the truth, but Hector said Thomas had told him. Hector couldn't understand why Caitlin would want to see Rick. He was older. He had a child. He was divorced. Men like him wanted something more than from young girls like Caitlin. He knew he should never have allowed Caitlin to work at Forrester Creations. Caitlin grew defiant. She said Rick was different. He loved her and she loved him. She would not give up her job at Forrester and she would not stop seeing Rick. Hector screamed that he was still her father and she would do as she was told. Not this time, Caitlin replied. Then Caitlin did something really, really stupid. She rubbed her father's nose in it. She told him she had been at Rick's house…in his bed….they didn't make love, but they could have. And it would have been beautiful, not dirty. (Now why would the girl have done this? It only made Hector more angry. That was a really foolish things to say. Why enrage him further?) Hector cried and said he didn't think he could ever trust or believe his daughter again as he ran out the door. (Mr. Lorenzo Lamas did a fabulous job of portraying Hector's grief, anger, and disappointment. A+ Mr. Lamas.)

After her father left, Caitlin called Rick to warn him that her father was probably on his way to see him. Rick said he would be happy to talk to Hector and explain everything. Even though Caitlin suggested Rick leave and give Hector time to cool off, Rick decided he should wait outside - IN THE POURING RAIN - to show that he was ready to talk and not running away. (Oh yeah, that's a really fine idea. Let me suggest that you also dress entirely in black and pull a hood up over your head. That's always a good thing to wear when it's dark and stormy outside. Oh, you took my advice. Good.)

Hector drove his EMT vehicle over to Rick's. All the time, Caitlin's voice saying she had been in Rick's bed echoed in his head. He got to the courtyard. At the very last second, his headlights shown on the black clad, hooded figure! Too late! Hector hit the brakes, but the rain soaked pavement caused his truck to skid. He ran head on into Rick. The poor guy flew up onto the hood, smashed into the windshield, and fell to the ground. Hector lept from the truck, called an ambulance, and grabbed his medic equipment. Rick was on the ground having a hard time breathing. Hector grabbed the oxygen tank and started to place the mask over Rick's nose. But then he remembered Caitlin saying she and Rick had been in bed. Before administering the oxygen, Hector demanded to know if Rick had slept with Caitlin. Had he? Had he?

Episode Date: Monday, August 23, 2004

So there was Rick lying on his driveway, injured - perhaps near death - and Hector was holding an oxygen mask just inches from Rick's gasping mouth. But Hector had to know if Rick had de-flowered his daughter. Rick rasped that he couldn't breathe. But Hector insisted that Rick say if he had sex with Caitlin. Rick managed to mutter out a weak "no."

"And you never will!" screamed Hector. It wasn't clear if Hector intended to withhold the oxygen mask and let Rick die. (That would certainly assure us all that Rick would not bed Caitlin.) Of perhaps it was just a command from Hector. But as the ambulance sirens appeared in the distance, Hector administered the mask to Rick. The paramedics arrived and congratulated Hector on saving Rick's life. And away they all went to the hospital.

At Caitlin's house, the teen worried that she had not heard from her father or Rick. Samantha asked if Hector was capable of hurting Rick. Caitlin was certain he was not possible of any violence. The phone rang. Hector informed his daughter that Rick had been involved in an accident. Caitlin and Samantha rushed to the hospital.

Eric was at Chez Ridge discussing Felicia's potential drug problems with Ridge when he got a call from Samantha telling him of Rick's accident. (It was explained that Brooke was visiting her brother and sister with RJ. That's why she wasn't around.) Eric and Ridge bound for the hospital.

Everyone arrived at the hospital and were just worried sick! Dr. Mark (Clarke's poor son that only appears on screen when someone is injured, sick, or having a baby in their bedroom) was there to tell them that it appeared Rick had two broken ribs and a collapsed lung. There did not appear to be any injuries to his head or spinal cord. They could visit him, but only one person at a time until the test results returned. Eric suggested Caitlin be the first person to go in. He would call Brooke to explain Rick's condition. (Why did Eric even think that Caitlin would want to visit Rick? To the best of my knowledge, he knows nothing of their romance. Does he? Did I miss something?)

The police questioned Hector about what had happened. Did he see the car that hit Rick. The fireman admitted that he had hit Rick. It was dark. He didn't see Rick until it was too late. He didn't know how fast he was driving. He said he was "in a hurry." Later, Eric asked the police if they had any information on who hit his son. Still later, Eric grabbed Hector's should and questioned if he was responsible for what had happened to Rick.

In Rick's room, Caitlin quietly approached the bed. When Rick awoke, Caitlin told him she would stay by his side until he was better. And then she would never leave him. She had been upset with her father, but he had saved Rick's life. She was so grateful. Rick tried to eke out some words, but Caitlin told him to save his strength. Then she kissed him - on the LIPS! (There was poor Rick with tubes everywhere and that little oxygen thing stuck up his nose and Caitlin just smacked him a wet one on the lips. That's a little gross, don't you think?) Rick looked up and saw Hector witnessing the tender (yet somewhat icky) moment through the window in the door. Hector gave Rick the evil eye.

Meanwhile, Felicia got great news. The surgery and chemotherapy had done the trick. There was no evidence of cancer in her body. She wasn't out of the woods. She still had to be monitored every month to see if the cancer had returned. But for the time being, she was definitely not dying. Felicia and Nick returned to Chez Ridge where Felicia was ready to celebrate. Nick wondered what he plan was. She had not plan. Her entire life had changed. Nick suggested that she "stay the course." When she thought she was dying, she wanted to make amends with her family. She should still do that. And what about that fling with a sailor. Felicia admitted that she was scared of getting close to anyone. That hadn't been a problem when she didn't have much time left. But now….Nick told her that he liked her and he'd like to pursue their relationship. Felicia said she couldn't make any promises, but what the hey! Let's kiss here by the fire place.

If Nick really interested in Felicia? C'mon! He was devastated at losing Brooke just a couple of weeks ago. Now he thinks he could fall for Ridge's sister? I'm not buying it.

Episode Date: Tuesday, August 24, 2004

I'm sorry, my TIVO did not catch "The" show today. This time, I cannot blame it on my Olympic-obsessed, TIVO-challenged boyfriend. Sometimes, the machine does not change the channel when it goes to record new show. Since I had last been watching SoapNet, I got a full half-hour of a Ryan's Hope rerun. But hey, I watched it anyway. I love me them soap operas. And what a time capsule! The scenes were so long way back then. And the action moved at a snail's pace. What hath MTV wrought on our collective attention spans? But Mr. Justin Deas was looking mighty fine as Bucky back then. He's actually still looking mighty fine as Buzz on Guiding Light these days.

I apologize for my tardiness in getting "The" show updated this week. We have bought a house here in the great Southwest and I've been painting like a madman in order to get ready to move in a couple of weeks. Also, 82-year-old Aunt Lilly was visiting from Atlanta for a few days. Then 13-year-old niece Jillian from Lawn Guyland stayed for 5 days. Busy, busy, busy. A special thanks to all my faithful readers who wrote to check on my well-being. You are all so sweet. The cockles of my heart are so warm.

Even though I missed today's episode, I watched the following shows and with the help of a commercial preview last week, here's what I think happened.

At the hospital, the truth came out that it was Hector's truck that ran over Rick. Caitlin was furious and wondered if her father had harmed Rick on purpose. Everyone else believed that it was simply an accident.

Jackie ended up at Deacon's beach house where he encouraged her to sign the divorce papers. She didn't need no stinkin' tycoon to make her happy. Here, Deacon will show you…

Oscar and Faux Bridget were planning a tropical getaway. Poor Oscar was having a hard time deciding which swim suit he should pack. FB (Faux Bridget) suggested he try them on and she'd help him decide. 15 suits later - from baggy surfer shorts to a form-fitting cobalt blue Speedo - FB decided he should take them all.

Episode Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2004

On a sunny new day, Jackie woke up with Deacon in Deacon's bed….and they were both stark naked…naked as a jaybird! But this time around, Jackie was more than pleased to be cuddling next to her boy toy. And Deacon begged Jackie to give him a break. Apparently she had worn him out! (Did I miss that part in yesterday's episode?) A little later, Jackie donned one of Deacon's shirts and led him, blindfolded, to the living room. She surprised him with British food for breakfast. She explained she hadn't prepare the Spotted Dick, Bangers, Turd in the Holes, or the scones. She had it delivered. (I don't believe for one second that there is a place in Los Angeles that delivers such funny-named food at anytime of day, let alone first thing in the morning. If I'm wrong, you City of Angel dwellers, please let me know. Hee hee hee, she said spotted dick.) Anyway, Jackie worried that Nick would never forgive her. Deacon said he would - eventually - with time. Jackie wondered if she had wasted too much time waiting for Massimo to take her back. Perhaps she had not gone in to the marriage with her eyes open. She had always been in love with Massimo as Nick's father. But was it fair that she had wanted him to be her night in shining armor? Eric had tried to warn her about him. Deacon said Jackie was strong and independent and didn't need any man to help her along.

At Forrester Creations, Ridge worked on some designs for the new line. Eric entered and reported that Rick was doing better. His collapsed lung was re-inflating all on it's own. Ridge didn't want to be the bearer of bad news, but he showed Eric that day's newspaper. It reported that Thorne was going to work at Spectra Fashions. Eric couldn't believe it. He had to try and talk some sense into Thorne. He and Stephanie had been trying to give their son some space. But now he had to take action. Eric was going to talk Thorne into returning to the family business.

Meanwhile, Thorne was in Sally's office at Forrester Creations. He remembered his father telling him that Ridge was their choice to be president of Forrester Creations. Boy, that really got him in a lather. Darla showed up and told Thorne about the article in the paper. She wanted him to make sure he was doing the right thing. Forrester Creations was his family's business, his legacy. Shouldn't he reconsider. Nope! His mind was made up. Clarke arrived and had a message from Sally. Thorne was the new president of Spectra Fashions! Sally couldn't make the announcement herself because she was bedridden with a broken leg! Clarke joked that he had warned her about taking yoga classes. (I read that out beloved Miss Darlene Connelly is out with a real broken leg. Let's all give her a big Smarytpants get well hug over the Internet, shall we? And Clarke was Hottie McHottie was a re-grown goatee! Stylin'!) Thorne announced that Spectra would not longer be a second-rate knock-off house. Oh no! They were going to steal designs and make them even better than the originals! (Uh, does that really sound like such a good plan?)

Eric and Ridge showed up just as some Spectra employees were congratulating Thorne on his new position. Eric tried to get his son to reconsider, but Thorne said he had learned the hard way what loyalty and dedication meant at Forrester Creations. To quote his own father "It's not personal. It's just business." Eric said he would not give up on Thorne, even if he have given up on the family. After Eric left, Ridge scoffed at the notion that Thorne could turn Spectra into anything but the dump it was. Thorne told Ridge he would prove him wrong. Very, very wrong.

Out at Deacon's Bachelor Beach House, Jackie and her stud returned from the ocean. They had been boogie boarding. Jackie was having a grand old time and thanked Deacon for making her see that she had been missing out on so much of life. Deacon was so taken with Jackie that he asked her to move in with him. (Say what? Macy hasn't even been…well, where ever she is because she isn't dead, I tell you, she isn't dead! And what about you trying to re-win Bridget's heart? Remember that? I guess Faux Bridget really dampened your enthusiasm for that. But now right on to Jackie. You cad! My kinda guy.) Jackie thought people would talk. She was so much older than Deacon. He replied that she needed to stop caring about what other people might think. Jackie also said Nick would not approve and she desperately needed to have him back in her life. And what about Massimo? If he learned that Deacon had been cavorting with his wife after hiring him to follow her, there would be a lot of heck to pay. Even though Deacon insisted he could handle Mass, Jackie suggested they just lay low for a while. Later as they canoodled on the couch, Jackie told Deacon she had never felt so alive as when she was with him. She was glad that Massimo had decided not to take her back. Jackie's cell phone rang, but she was too busy fondling Deacon's chest hair to answer it. But we saw the display on the phone. It was Massimo calling her! (What did he want? For her to pick up his dry cleaning?)

At Caitlin's house, I noticed the hot water heater was still exposed in the kitchen as Hector laid into Samantha about how she handled the Rick/Caitlin issue. Sam explained that she only wanted Caitlin to trust her. But Hector pointed out that Caitlin need a mother, not a friend, in a situation like this. Sam apologized. She was new at mothering - and she was afraid Sam would reject her if she hadn't kept the secret. Hector admitted that parenting was tough. But they had to stand firm and united. They had to forbid their daughter to date Rick. Samantha agreed. She remembered being pregnant when she was young. She didn't want her daughter to go through the same thing.

At the hospital, Caitlin's hair was a big chocolate mess! She had spent all night at Rick's bedside. He wanted her to go home, but she refused. She was still angry that her father had run his truck over Rick. (That's understandable.) But Caitlin could tell that there was more Rick wasn't telling her. He told her about Hector waiting until he heard if Rick had boinked Caitlin before administering the oxygen mask! Caitlin was horrified, but not sure her father would do such a dastardly deed. She took off to find a nurse to bring Rick some yummy hospital food for breakfast. Before she left, she kissed him. They didn't see that Hector was peering through the window in the door. (With very dramatic lighting on the right side of his face. Strangely, once we went out in the hallway, there is no light source, such as a window, in the hallway. I supposed an orderly was there with a flashlight to give the intended affect.)

After Caitlin left, Hector went into Rick's room and checked on his condition. Then he instructed Rick to break up with Caitlin. She was underage and Hector would get the police involved if Rick didn't end it immediately. Rick said he didn't have much choice. He saw what Hector was capable of. Hector insisted that he knew Rick was in no danger of dying when he didn't give him the oxygen mask. He just wanted answers. Rick replied that he didn't know about his condition and thought Hector was threatening him. Enough already, Hector said it was over and that was that. They didn't see that Caitlin was peering through the window in the door with the same orderly holding the same flashlight to give the same dramatic lighting affect.

Oh sweet Jesus, Deacon and Jackie were still playing like puppies at Deacon's Beach Bachelor Beach Pad. Deacon put a henna tattoo of a musical sharp sign on Jackie's wrist. (Get it? Deacon Sharpe? A sharp sign?) He then revealed that he had a henna tattoo of a British flag on his shoulder blade. (Get it? British flag? Union Jack, it's called….Deacon called it a Union Jackie. All this cuteness is really making me wish I hadn't had the Nachos Bell Grande and a Super-size Pepsi for lunch today. And who exactly painted the henna on Deacon's shoulder? He could not have possibly done it himself. Just asking.) Jackie told Deacon how much she appreciated his companionship. She felt like a real woman. So they had sex. Later, Sex Kitten Jackie was napping under an afghan (a blanket, not a dog) on the couch when Deacon came stomping down the stairs…and then apologized for waking her up. (Then step a little more lightly, buddy.) He left to run some errands and Jackie's cell phone rang. It was Massimo! She answered it and he instructed her to come over to the Marone Manse.

Deacon returned to his Bachelor Beach Pad and found Jackie gone. He thought it odd she had taken her purse. (Why? Doesn't a lady take her purse everywhere she goes.) Deacon called and left a message on her cell phone.

But Jackie was busy chatting with Maid Claudette at the Marone Manse. Jackie's portrait that used to hang over the mantle was now on an easel to the side of the fire place. Jackie mused that she thought Massimo would have thrown in on the "rubbish heap." Claudette dryly replied "He's been very busy." (I nearly lost it! Too busy to throw out his lying wife's portrait. That's a good one.) Claudette left to make some bologna sandwiches for Mass's lunch and the tycoon entered the living room. He said he had considered destroying the painting. Jackie told him he could rip it to shreds for all she cared. But Mass had a change of heart. Instead, he hung it back over the mantle. He finally understood that Jackie's lies had been out of love and not malice. He missed her and couldn't live without her. He was taking her back. Smack! A kiss on the lips! Boom! Move back in, woman! Jackie was a little perplexed. Now what's she gonna do?

At the hospital, Caitlin stormed into Rick's room and demanded to know what Hector was doing there. The over-protective father explained that he and Rick had simply been discussing something that was important to both of them and now Rick had something to say. But Brooke rushed in to her son's bedside. (She had been delayed by fog in San Francisco, we learned.) Brooke wanted to know what had happened and the whole story of Hector smashing into Rick came out. Brooke was surprised to learn about Rick and Caitlin almost doing the horizontal mambo, but believed they would take it slow. No harm done.

"Excuse me for asking, but are you out of your mind?" quizzed Hector. (Classic line, simply a classic.) Brooke said that she believed that Rick truly cared for Caitlin and would not harm her. Hector said that people from his class didn't see things the same as rich people. They had different morals. Brooke resented the implication and said she had grown up in a neighborhood just like Hector's. (Did the Logan's have a water heater in their kitchen?)

"With all due respect, you didn't even know who fathered your baby until he was born" Hector kindly pointed out. (Classic line after classic line today….and he does have a valid point.

Hector insisted that Rick break it off with Caitlin, but he wouldn't. So Hector tried to physically drag his daughter from the room. But Caitlin pulled free and ran to Rick's side. She told her father not to make her choose between the two of them….because she would.

MOVING! I've been moving to a new house and I've determined it's much easier to move one's stuff across the country than it is to move is two miles across town. But enough about me. What about those wacky Forresters?

Ridge and Brooke met his office for some welcome home nookie. But just as they were in mid-state of undress, Stephanie burst through the door and nearly lost her lunch. She was there to find out about Ridge's conversation with Thorne. Ridge explained that Thorne was hell bent on bringing down the Forrester dynasty. Stephanie decided she should go talk to him. Alone again, Ridge locked the door and got down to business. Brooke wondered if Thorne might be a threat to the company, but Ridge took her mind off the subject.

Stephanie went to Spectra and talked to Thorne. She was concerned that he was not only hurting Ridge and Eric, but also his daughter, Alexandria. He was denying her a place in the family legacy. Thorne scoffed at his mother's attempt to play the granddaughter card. La Forrester had hardly ever visited his daughter. And he was doing this Spectra gig to make a legacy for Little Alex that no one could take away. Thorne suggested Stephanie go home and warn his father and brother to watch their backs.

At Deacon's Bachelor Beach House, the stud, prepared a fancy table for dinner to share with Jackie. As he lit the candles, he wondered where she was. (Would you really light candles - and set out all the food - if you didn't know what time your dinner guest was arriving? I think not.)

Jackie was dumbfounded over at the Marone Manse. Massimo wanted her back. But so much had happened. He had filed divorce papers! Nope - all is forgiven. And to seal the deal, there was Nick with dinner in hand. He had forgiven her as well. The guys wanted her home to be a family again. As they dined, Jackie looked at her sharp tattoo. She had finally found her happiness, and now she was being dragged back into the life she thought she had always wanted. After dinner, Jackie returned to Deacon's Bachelor Beach House and told him what had transpired. Nicky had forgiven her and Massimo wanted her back! Deacon said that wouldn't make her happy. She could have her son and Deacon too. Even though Deacon professed love, Jackie said she had to return to her former life. She walked out the door. Deacon was really confused.

Felicia visited Nick on the Shady Marlin where he taught her to throw darts. As the conversation grew serious, Felicia reminded Nick that she wasn't out of the woods yet. She still had years of tests ahead of her. She had no cancer now, but it might return. Nick sang a song (well, of course he did) that he wrote (well, of course he did) for Felicia. It was about living life to the fullest. It made Felicia cry because she had come to terms with dying. Now, Nick had changed her mind. She wanted to LIVE!

At Spectra Fashions, Stephanie still tried to persuade Thorne to come back to the fold. He didn't have a vindictive bone in his body. He really didn't want to hurt his family. Thorne said he had changed. He had inspired loyalty in his employees at Forrester Creations, but not in his family. He was tired of being the nice guy that always finished last. He suggested that his mother leave…and she did.

Over at Forrester Creations, Ridge and Eric complete their latest designs while surrounded by a gaggle of Forrester minions. Alone with his son, Eric hoped that their new collection would blow Spectra out of the water so Thorne would come to his senses and return to work with them. But Stephanie returned and reported that Thorne wouldn't budge. He was bound and determined to make it on his own. Eric wished he didn't have to hurt his son, but was certain Spectra could never compete with Forrester.

But back at Spectra, one of those Forrester minions was pulling a fast one. His name is Luis and Thorne had spoken at his wife's funeral, had helped with medical bills, and had even attended his son's graduation. Luis had stolen a computer disc with the latest designs from Forresters. He would do anything for Thorne, but wished he would reconcile with his father. Thorne thanked Luis for his "loyalty" and sent him on his way. Thorne called Sally and told her he had received their secret weapon. They could now destroy Forrester Creations.
