Ridge arrived home early from work. Taylor was sniffling because she
had caught Thomas's cold. Ridge offered to cancel his golf game to take
care of her. Their conversation was interrupted by Morgan's arrival.
Taylor had forgotten she was supposed to attend Morgan's first birthing
class with her that afternoon. They agreed Taylor should not spread
her cold germs in a room full of pregnant women. Taylor suggested that
Ridge take her place for this class only. Ridge protested as Taylor
left the room to check on the Phoebe and Stephanie. Morgan said Ridge
didn't have to go with her, she'd call Clarke instead. That got Ridge's
goat and when Taylor returned, he agreed to accompany Morgan.
Morgan and Ridge arrived at the birthing class. Immediately, Morgan was depressed
by all the doting husbands caring for their pregnant wives. Ridge was
uncomfortable when the other couples asked them personal questions.
Morgan, ticked off by Ridge's bad attitude, stood and made an announcement
to the class. She made it clear that he was not the father of her child
and that he had no sexual or romantic interest in her. Ridge was embarrassed
by her display, but couldn't help laughing at her antics. Morgan laughed.
Heck, the whole class cracked up! (My side, my side! Please stop!)
Meanwhile, at Spectra Fashions, Sally, Clarke and Darla surprised Amber with
a beautiful wedding gown Clarke had designed especially for her. Amber
tried on the dress and didn't know how to think them for such a thoughtful
gift. Sally said they should be thanking her for making CJ so happy.
As Amber gazed in the mirror, she looked stunned and said the dress
made it all seem so much more real. Sally told Amber she was a member
of the Spectra family now.
Alone with Darla later, Amber mused now different it was with the Spectras
than is was with the Forresters. Everyone in the family had been against
her marriage to Rick. She pondered how it would have been different
for her and Rick if they had support from the Forrester family. As she
changed out of the dress, she thought it was a moot point - she was
marrying CJ. Darla asked if Amber had spoken to Rick since he proposed.
When Amber said she hadn't spoken to him, Darla said it didn't matter
anyway because he couldn't stop her wedding to CJ.
But over at the Forrester guest house, Rick told Bridget that he was certain
CJ had pressured Amber to get married. He knew she was only doing it
for Little Eric. Rick then explained his plan to locate the baby's biological
father, convince him to restore custody of Little Eric to the Forresters,
and win Amber back. When Bridget saw the fuzzy photo, she thought the
plan was a long shot. She pointed out that just a year ago, Rick had
complained about having a child and being married to Amber. Rick said
he hadn't realized what a wonderful thing he had. He had been Little
Eric's father for a year. He could never get the child out of his heart.
Bridget admitted that Amber and Little Eric were lucky to have Rick
in their life and wished him luck in his search. They were interrupted
by a phone call from Ted Jones, the private investigator. He had located
Deacon running a bar called The Lair on Sunset Boulevard. (My Lord,
that was quick! Can I hire Ted Jones to locate my denim jacket I lost
at a kegger back in college? I really liked that jacket.) Rick thanked
Ted for his help and said he would handle it from there. Bridget advised
her brother to proceed cautiously. Rick assured her he wouldn't do anything to screw up this important matter.
Later, Rick arrived at The Lair. (One of the whitest, lightest bars
I have ever seen.) The big, beefy, burly bouncer (Mr. Smartypants loves
alliteration) informed Rick the bar was not yet open. Rick explained
he was there to see the manager and took a seat at the bar. The bouncer
then spoke with someone about Rick. The man said he would get rid of
him. The man slowly turned around. It's the man from the photo!
Episode Date: Thursday, November 2, 2000
Bridget went to visit Stephanie at the Forrester mansion. La Forrester was
surprised to learn that Amber had accepted CJ's marriage proposal. Bridget
relayed the news that Rick had proposed to Amber as well. Stephanie
blamed Amber's quick decision on her impetuous nature. Bridget told
her step-mother that Rick would find a way to stop the wedding because
he loved Amber and would not give up on his family. They decided that
CJ and Amber bonded over loss and loneliness. They also both loved Little
Eric very much. Stephanie did not believe that CJ intended to manipulate
Amber, but Bridget said Amber had no choice but to marry CJ since he
had custody of Little Eric. Stephanie decided she would talk to Amber
and try to convince her not to marry CJ so quickly. (Is it my imagination,
or was that the dullest scene we've witnessed in a while?)
Meanwhile at that jazzy club, The Lair, Rick showed his blurry photo to a
female employee. The woman said the man in the photo was her boyfriend
and they had been together for three and a half years. She seemed miffed
that Deacon was in the photo with another woman. After she stormed off,
Deacon approached Rick. He pretended to be nice until Rick explained
he was there with some news about a woman from his past. Deacon made
it clear he didn't want to know anything about the past. Rick said that
he wasn't there to cause trouble, but Deacon repeated that he didn't
want anyone poking around in his life. Deacon's girlfriend returned
and asked who the woman in the photo was. Deacon was gruff with her
and shoved her away, telling her to wait in the kitchen. Seeing Deacon's
aggressive behavior, Rick said he had changed his mind and wouldn't
bother Deacon again. After Rick left, Deacon found the photo on the
floor of him and Becky. (That Rick, he's so careless with his clues.
He should take some stalking lessons from Kimberly and her star stalking
pupil, Bridget.)
Later, Rick met up with Bridget at Insomnia. Bridget was disappointed
to learn that the meeting with Deacon had not gone well. Rick explained
he'd have to think of another way to keep Amber from marrying CJ because
he did not want a dangerous character like Deacon anywhere near his
family. But look, there's Deacon now, walking through the front door
of Insomnia. Isn't that a coincidence?
And over at that birthing/Lamaze class, Ridge helped Morgan with her breathing
technique. Morgan got dewy as Ridge massaged her back as instructed
by the teacher. As Morgan huffed and puffed on all fours (is that really
a birth position?) Ridge joked that Morgan would not use any of the
natural techniques because she had no threshold for pain. They reminisced
about a hiking expedition they had taken in the past and how Morgan
complained of blisters. Morgan argued that she had a high threshold
of pain. Ridge then playfully spanked her buttocks. Oh, the levity that
ensued in the classroom after that hilarious antic is indescribable.
After the laughing subsided, Morgan told Ridge that he could be her
permanent birthing coach. Ridge clamed up.
After the class was over and everyone left, Ridge went to the storage
room to put their mat away. Morgan followed him in and closed the door
behind her. (First of all, why would anyone do that? Second of all,
uh oh.) She asked why he had gotten so quiet. Ridge said he didn't want
to discuss the matter. As Morgan turned to leave, she noticed the door
had locked! They were trapped in the storage room!
I have to go off for a minute here! Storage room doors do not lock
from the inside. What sense does that make? Are they trying to keep
the stored items from escaping? NO! A storage room locks from the outside
so no one takes the stored items from the inside. There are many different
kind of locks. The classic store room lock is the most common. It can
be locked or unlocked from the outside with a key. It is always unlocked
from the inside. I used to be an architect. I know these things. This
plot point is preposterous!
But I'm sure I'm going to love what happens.

Ridge and Morgan were still
locked in the storage room at the birthing class. (Stupid.) Ridge told
Morgan not to panic, but she said she might get hungry. She explained
to Ridge that "his son" had a voracious appetite. Ridge asked
Morgan not to refer to the baby as "his son" because she might
slip and tell that to the wrong person. Morgan told Ridge to chill out.
She had promised never to tell Taylor the truth, but Ridge couldn't
pretend that child did not exist. They had to talk about the situation
because neither of them had anyone else to confide in. Ridge responded
that he didn't trust Morgan and he couldn't talk to Taylor about his
feelings. He was upset that he couldn't be a part of his son's life.
Morgan was equally upset over what she had done. She had created a situation
that deprived her son of his father. Morgan said that whatever Ridge
could give to her son's life would be satisfactory with her. But she
begged him not to transfer his animosity toward her to the baby. Ridge
assured her he would never do that. They both settled on the floor to
rest. Ridge thought it might have been good to be stranded in the closet
together. (What is this place - Fort Knox?)
At Insomnia, Rick told Bridget that Deacon had seemed unstable and
Rick certainly didn't want such a character involved in Little Eric's
life. When Rick went to pay the bill, he realized the photo of Deacon
and Becky was missing. He didn't think much of it because he was distracted
when CJ and Little Eric entered the coffee shop. Bridget got up to leave
and suggested Rick do the same. Rick told his sister he would finish
his coffee and then leave. Deacon kept his eye on Rick from across the
room.
At Sally's apartment, Stephanie
visited Amber. La Forrester expressed her unhappiness with Amber's decision
to marry CJ. Amber assured the matriarch that she truly loved CJ and
it wasn't just about Little Eric's custody. Stephanie told Amber she
was acting irrationally. She assured Amber that she'd be happy for her
if she thought they would be a happily married couple. She was certain
that Amber still loved Rick. Amber responded that she had moved on with
her life and this decision was best for everyone - even Rick. Amber
thought every one could reconcile and asked Stephanie to be the matron
of honor at her wedding. Stephanie refused because she didn't approve
of the marriage. She pointed out that Amber had known CJ for years and
never had romantic feelings for him. They were jumping into this relationship
because of dependency. Stephanie suggested they give it some time. Amber
said that wouldn't be fair to CJ and she was never going to leave Little
Eric or his father. They were interrupted by CJ calling from Insomnia
reminding her to meet him and Little Eric for dinner. Before she left,
Stephanie encouraged Amber to be honest with CJ and herself.
Back at Insomnia, Rick got up to leave and noticed Deacon at another
table. When Rick approached him, Deacon admitted he had followed him
there. Deacon produced the photo Rick had dropped. He wanted to know
what Becky wanted. Rick assured him that Becky had not sent him to look
for Deacon. The thug didn't believe Rick and told him he would discredit
Becky's reputation if this was a "shake down." (Ooh, that's
a great Hawaii Five-O term.) Rick said Becky didn't want anything because
she was dead. Deacon assumed that was all Rick had wanted. He extended
his apologies and got up to leave.
Meanwhile, Amber had arrived and was dining with CJ and Little Eric.
When Amber suggested postponing the wedding, CJ smelled a Forrester
was behind her fear. Amber admitted that Stephanie had stopped by and
used some strong-arm tactics on her. CJ was incensed and stomped over
to Rick. CJ told Rick to keep away from his family. "Get it through
your thick head that Amber and I are going to raise Becky's baby!"
CJ returned to his table where Little Eric was giggling
and being really, really cute.
Rick was terrified. Deacon had not left. He had heard everything CJ
said. Rick denied it when Deacon asked if the baby was Becky's child.
But Deacon is smarter than your average bear. He turned to Rick and
said "He's my son."
That all happened really quickly. Goody goody.
Episode Date: Monday, November 6, 2000
Ridge and Morgan, still locked in the storage closet, had a heart to
heart conversation. Ridge said the baby Morgan was carrying was totally
innocent and he would never hold the infant at fault. Morgan hoped Ridge
would forgive her one day. Ridge remembered how Taylor had almost died
giving birth to the twins. Morgan realized how much Ridge loved Taylor
and was glad she had survived. Ridge heard noise in the room outside,
screamed for help and a janitor unlocked the door to free them. (That
was a dramatic rescue!)
Meanwhile, Clarke called Taylor to find out if Morgan was hanging out with
her. He was surprised to learn Ridge had gone to Morgan's birthing class.
Taylor was worried about Ridge and Morgan and was very short with Clarke.
After hanging up the phone, Taylor was relieved when Ridge and Morgan
walked through the door. The two related their harrowing experience
in the scary storage closet. Taylor noticed less animosity between the
couple and asked what had happened. Ridge said they had time to talk
and had mended fences. Morgan said they had talked about trusting each
other. Taylor was glad they had put their teen-age differences behind
then. In a very Kum-Bah-Yah moment, Morgan placed Ridge and Taylor's
hands on her extended belly and wished them peace and happiness. She
then asked them to be her baby's godparents! Taylor quickly agreed.
Ridge stammered around (so what else is new?) and reluctantly agreed
as well.
At Insomnia, Amber and CJ planned what flower arrangements they wanted for
their wedding. CJ noticed that Amber kept looking at Rick talking to
a stranger, but told her he wasn't jealous. CJ explained he wanted Little
Eric to be his best man. (Little Eric seemed much more interested in
eating grapes.) Amber said all she ever wanted was to protect and love
Little Eric. CJ said he felt like he was the only father the baby would
ever have. Nothing would ever threaten their family. (Oh yeah?)
Across the coffee house, Rick denied that Little Eric was Deacon's
son, but the bad guy wasn't buying it. "That freakin' kid is mine.
Great! That's all I need" Deacon whined. (Note: The writers have
given Deacon some colorful language to draw him as rough guy. Without
real profanity, however, the dialog is somewhat humorous - not the intent,
I'm sure. But you can rest assured, I'm catching all of it for you.)
Rick told Deacon that he didn't want anything from him. "You just
came to tell me some 'ho I banged bit it?" Deacon asked. (Translation:
You mean you only came to tell me that a young lady I had sexual relations
with had passed away?)
In what may be Rick's dumbest moment yet, he told Deacon that CJ had been
talking about a different Becky, not the 'ho he had banged. "Do
I look like I have 'dumbass" tattooed on my forehead?" Deacon
queried. (Translation: Please do not take me for a fool, young Master
Forrester.) Rick wondered why Deacon even cared if the baby was his
child. When Deacon headed over to CJ's table, Rick admitted the truth.
Little Eric was Deacon's son, but he had no responsibility for him.
"You came into my bar with a picture of that beast I bagged and
tell me that I'm not responsible for the kid she spit out" Deacon
wondered. (Translation: You came into my bar with a photograph of that
charming young lass I made love with and tell me not to worry about
the child she bore for me.)
Angered, Rick told Deacon to have respect for Becky. Deacon responded
that Becky had meant nothing to him and neither did the child. Rick
told Deacon he would take the child off his hands. Deacon said he took
care of his own problems and warned Rick not to tell anyone of his paternity.
Rick told Deacon to stay away from Little Eric. Rick then offered Deacon
$10,000 to get lost and never show up again.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 7, 2000
Sally paid Stephanie a visit at the Forrester mansion. Stephanie told Sally
she was not in the mood to hear her gloat. Sally replied she didn't
gloat because justice had been served. Sally had merely come to instruct
Stephanie not to come to CJ and Amber's wedding. Stephanie screamed
that the wedding shouldn't even be taking place while Sally thought
she should try and convince Rick not to pursue Amber. Sally said Rick
was pressuring Amber. Stephanie countered with the fact that the Spectras
were putting the pressure on Amber now that CJ had custody of Little
Eric. Stephanie implored Sally, as CJ's mother, to keep him from making
a mistake. Stephanie knew the marriage would be doomed since Amber only
wanted to make a good home for the baby. La Forrester suggested Amber
would turn her attention to Rick if he had custody of Little Eric. Sally
told Stephanie to "dream on" as she slammed the door on her
way out.
Back at Insomnia, Amber was distracted from wedding plans with CJ. She kept
wondering who Deacon was and why he was talking to Rick. CJ advised
Amber to quit worrying about Rick and concentrate on their future together.
CJ promised he would provide a wonderful life for Amber and Little Eric
and never let them down. (A humorous note: When CJ asked Amber if she
wanted to invite her mother, Tawny, to the wedding, Amber replied that
Tawny had run off with some man about a month ago. She had received
a postcard from her mother from "somewhere called Harmony."
The joke is that Tawny's portrayer, Andrea Evans, is now playing a different
character on the NBC soap, Passions. That continuing drama is set in
the town of Harmony.)
Anyway, across the coffee house, Rick repeated his offer to Deacon.
He wanted custody of the baby. He would have the proper papers drawn
up. For $10,000, Deacon would relinquish custody of Little Eric. Rick
explained that he had raised the child for his first year of life and
wanted to continue to raise him. Deacon did not believe Rick had that
kind of money. The slime ball changed his tune when Rick proved he was
a Forrester. Deacon asked "Who's the slutty looking chick that
keeps looking over here?" (translation: Who is that trollop eyeing
us?) When Rick defended Amber, Deacon figured Rick had an interest in
her. "I don't blame you. She's quite a piece" he complimented.
(translation: I envy you, sir. She is certainly a beautiful young woman.)
Rick's insistence that Deacon accept the deal made the bad guy wonder
how much Little Eric was truly worth. Perhaps CJ would offer more money
for custodial rights. Deacon decided to go over and meet his son. Rick said
he would kill Deacon if he touched Little Eric.
Deacon went over to CJ and Amber's table and complimented them on how
cute Little Eric was. CJ was very rude and told Deacon not to bother
them. Deacon commented on CJ's attitude and wished the couple luck -
because they might need it.
Deacon returned to Rick and said they had a deal. But the price was
now $100,000!
The kids might have to enter a talent show to raise that kind of money.
Oh, wait, that was the Brady Bunch. (It's a Sunshine Day.)

First of all, Happy 35th Anniversary to Days of our Lives. You go,
Marlena!
Deacon sat in his bar, The Lair. He looked forward to Rick's $100,000 pay
off as he gazed at the photograph of him and Becky. In a pretty good
black and white flashback, Deacon recalled making out in a car with
Becky. He promised her that he would marry her and take her away from
Furnace Creek. Convinced he loved her, Becky did the horizontal mambo
with him. (Hey! Be careful of that stickshift!) Returning from his memory,
Deacon commented that Becky was "
as dumb as a bag of hammers."
(That's an interesting analogy.) He was grateful for the child she conceived
that night, though.
Stephanie followed Amber into Sally's apartment and hounded her about
not marrying CJ. Amber discovered that CJ had sent her a huge bouquet
of red roses. Stephanie commented that it took more than charm to make
a marriage work. Amber argued that it wasn't just about what she wanted,
it was about what was best for everyone. Stephanie said Amber could
only do what was best for Little Eric if she did what was best for her.
Amber told Stephanie it didn't matter because they were getting married
the very next day. Stephanie was beside herself. She told Amber that
she loved her as her own child and didn't like CJ pressuring her. Stephanie
advised Amber to consider her feelings for Rick as she left.
At the Forrester mansion, Rick worried about stopping Amber's wedding in time.
Bridget arrived and found out that Deacon had discovered the truth at
Insomnia. At Rick's request, Jonathan Young, the family lawyer, showed
up. Rick explained how he had located Little Eric's biological father.
The father had agreed to relinquish custody to Rick, but the papers
had to be drawn up as soon as possible so Rick could stop Amber and
CJ's wedding. "And oh yeah, I have to pay him $100,000!" Jonathan
exclaimed that was extortion and he wanted no part of it. Rick said
Deacon was dangerous and he had to be kept away from Little Eric at
all costs. Stephanie walked in on the conversation and learned the whole
story (off camera). She wanted to take over the situation (surprise,
surprise) but Rick said it was his responsibility. Stephanie asked Jonathan
if the proposal was even possible.
The drama was interrupted by a news bulletin about the close presidential
race. Yada, yada, yada.
We missed a little bit of B&B, but when we returned, Rick was speaking
to Amber on the phone. He begged his ex-wife not to marry CJ. Rick said
he was working on something that would make it possible for them to
be together. Amber cried and asked why he was doing this to her. Rick
proclaimed that he loved her and wanted to marry her and be a family
with Little Eric. Amber told him to leave her alone and hung up on him.
(Now that really wasn't very nice, now was it?)

For the second day in a row, CBS news pre-empted most of The Bold and the
Beautiful with a meaningless Special News Report. I have no problem
with breaking news interrupting the best show on television IF there
is something to report. But when Dan Rather spends over 15 minutes of
valuable Forrester time telling me the same thing Katie Couric told
me earlier in the morning, I really get in a lather. But here's what
I did see happen
..
Deacon was interrupted mid-make-out session with his girlfriend by
a call from Rick. Rick reported that his lawyer was working on the papers
to transfer custody of Little Eric to Rick. When Deacon inquired about
the money, Rick replied Deacon would receive payment once he had signed
the documents. Deacon exploded and said he would not sign any papers
until he received $100,000. Rick said to expect the money and the papers
very soon.
Rick later received a phone call from Jonathan. The lawyer explained
the papers would not be available until the following day. He wanted
to make sure the agreement was airtight. Rick was disappointed, but
told Jonathan to get them finished as soon as possible. Alone, Rick
looked at a photo of Amber, Little Eric and him and vowed they would
be together.
At the chapel, Darla, Clarke, Sally and Little Eric looked on as CJ
and Amber took part in the wedding rehearsal. After the practice, CJ
and Amber talked alone in the chapel. Amber asked if he was sure they
were doing the right thing. CJ explained he needed Amber and Little
Eric. He felt he had
lost everything that mattered to him, but then he fell in love with
her. He said he would make sure she never regretted marrying him.
Later, Amber returned to the chapel with Little Eric. She spoke aloud
and apologized to Rick for hurting him. She could never leave her son
and her life was now with his father. In a dramatic split screen special
effect (I can only imagine the cost of that shot), Amber and Rick thought
about each other.
Episode Date: Friday, November 10, 2000
It's CJ and Amber's wedding day. (My how time flies when you write
it yourself.)
At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie told Eric about Rick's deal with
Deacon Sharp. Eric was not happy with the idea of paying money for the
baby. Stephanie explained that Rick was still in love with Amber and
desperately wanted her back. They decided to go to the chapel and try
and delay the wedding.
CJ paid Rick a visit at the guest house and told him to stay away from
the wedding. CJ said Amber was fed up with the Forresters trying to
manipulate her life. Rick told CJ not to be so cocky because he and
Amber weren't married yet. CJ told Rick to quit chasing his fiancée
and coveting his son. It had been made clear that Becky wanted CJ to
raise Little Eric. Rick retorted that CJ's custody of the baby was the
only reason Amber was marrying him. Rick added that the situation was
not yet over. As CJ left, he warned Rick to stay away from Amber and
Little Eric. They were his family now.
Meanwhile, at Sally's apartment, Darla helped Amber get ready to leave for
the chapel. Amber was nervous and told Darla she had experienced so
much change in her life recently. Darla agreed and said the Forresters
had really tried to help her, but they had lots of problems. Darla extolled
the virtues of the Spectra clan- especially CJ. Darla left to get Amber's
dress when the telephone rang. It was Rick! Amber told Rick she couldn't
talk because she was leaving for her wedding. Rick told Amber she would
regret marrying CJ because she still loved him (Rick). Amber admitted
that she did love Rick but he had to let go of her. Her life was with
her son and his father. When Rick told Amber he'd come talk to her at
the chapel, Amber told him to stay away from her and hung up the phone.
Rick then called Deacon and told him he'd be over soon with the legal
papers to sign and the $100,000. Then they would go to the church and
stop the wedding. An edgy Rick then called Jonathan. Learning the documents
were almost ready, Rick instructed the lawyer to have them delivered
to Deacon's apartment. Rick was going directly there. Jonathan made
it clear that Rick should not pay Deacon one cent until the papers were
signed.
Rick later arrived at Deacon's apartment and was upset to learn the
papers had not yet been delivered. Deacon told Rick to cool his jets
Rick worried that he might not be able to stop the wedding.
Meanwhile, Stephanie and Eric arrived at the chapel. Stephanie didn't
know how she would be able to talk to Amber alone with all the Sepctras
roaming about the place.
In the changing room, poor Amber was a nervous wreck. Sally and Darla tried
to calm her down by telling her all brides got a little jittery. Sally
told Amber to remember that she, CJ and Little Eric would be a family
very soon.
Alone, Amber told herself to pull it together. CJ came into the changing
room. Amber was upset because she thought it would be bad luck for him
to see her before the ceremony. Noticing her anxiety, CJ told Amber
he had something to cheer her up. "A tranquilizer?" Amber
inquired. (Good one, girl.) Instead, CJ rewarded her with a passionate
kiss. He told her to relax because he would always keep her and Little
Eric safe.
Alone again, Amber looked at herself in the mirror. She took a photo from
her purse of Little Eric, Rick and her. She kissed the picture and whispered
"Good bye, Rick." As Amber gazed at the photo, one perfect
tear rolled from her left eye. (Miss Adrienne Frantz must have been
attending the Katherine Kelly Lang/Brooke Logan Forrester School of
Crying this semester.)
Episode Date: Monday, November 13, 2000
CJ straightened his bow tie as Sally and Clarke congratulated him on his impending
nuptials. CJ thanked Connor for his assistance in gaining custody of
Little Eric. Connor said nothing could separate CJ's new family. (Uh,
Connor, this is a soap opera, remember?)
Meanwhile, in the bride's room, Amber took another gander at the photo of
her, Rick and Little Eric. When Darla burst into the room, Amber quickly
hid the picture. Amber asked Darla to tell CJ she wanted to talk to
him and Little Eric. Darla replied there wasn't time - she'd get to
see them soon enough. Unexpectedly, Stephanie and Eric sauntered in.
Darla asked them to leave, but Stephanie told Amber it was a mistake
for her to marry CJ. She explained the Rick was working on "something"
and to wait until she heard from him. Sally and Clarke then showed up
(my, that room is getting very crowded) and Sally told the Forresters
to beat it. Stephanie pleaded with Amber not to make a mistake as Sally
ushered them to the door.
Connor, Sally, Clarke and a few extra day players we've never seen shuffled
into the chapel. Clarke worried the Forresters would pull some stunt,
but Sally told him it too late for them to do anything. (It seems a
little strange, but it appeared that the chapel was about the same size
as the bride's room.) Anyway, the minister, CJ and Little Eric appeared
at the altar. The tacky organ music began and maid-of-honor Darla walked
down the aisle. Then, Amber stood at the back of the church. Just as
she was ready to walk down the aisle, she noticed Stephanie and Eric
standing off to the side. With her eyes, Stephanie pleaded with Amber
not to go through with the marriage, but Amber took a deep breath and
marched to the front of the church.
The ceremony began and the minister said some nice things about CJ and Amber
joining their family and their hearts - blah, blah, blah. At the back
of the church, Stephanie told Eric they had to try and stop the wedding.
She insisted it wasn't over until it was over. (Oh, that's deep!)
Over at Deacon's apartment, Rick fretted that the custody papers had
not yet arrived. He called Jonathan and learned they would not be ready
until the following day. The lawyer had run them by a judge who had
found too many "ambiguities." Rick was upset to think he might
not be able to stop Amber's wedding to CJ when Stephanie called from the chapel.
She told Rick he had to make a move soon because the wedding was taking
place. Rick explained the dilemma to Deacon. Deacon suggested Rick take
matters into his own hands and stop the wedding. In fact, Deacon offered
to help Rick stop the marriage if Rick wrote him a check for the $100,000
that very minute. After a brief hesitation, Rick signed over the money
and he and Deacon sped off to the chapel.
Back at the chapel, CJ and Amber exchanged traditional wedding vows. Before
it was Amber's turn, however, CJ ad libbed and told Amber and the congregation
(of 8 people) that Amber had given him his life back after a devastating
year. He was now giving that life to her. In tears, Amber recited her
vows. Just as she was about to complete them, Rick ran through the back
doors of the chapel.
"Stop the wedding!" he ordered. Oh my - yet another case
of nuptialitis interuptus.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 14, 2000
In Brooke's office at Forrester Creations, Bridget told her mother that Rick
was committed to regaining Amber's love. Brooke worried that Rick might
do something to interrupt CJ and Amber's wedding. Bridget said she didn't
know Rick's plan and she didn't mention his connections with Little
Eric's biological father. Bridget changed the subject and expressed
her concern that Brooke was lonely. Brooke said she was thinking that
Bridget needed to get out more. They agreed they enjoyed spending time
at home together. Brooke suggested Bridget find a date for Rick so he
could forget about Amber. (Brooke was wearing some tawdry leather halter
dress! She looked like a classy dominatrix.)
Later, alone in her office, Brooke was surprised when Thorne showed up. Noticing
a photo of Brooke's kids, Thorne commented what good children they were.
Brooke agreed that Bridget had turned into a sensitive young lady. Thorne
complimented Brooke's parenting skills and said he understood why Brooke
had to break off the relationship with him. Brooke thanked him for the
kind words. Thorne said it was hard to be in the same room with Brooke,
he still cared about her. Brooke was shaken by Thorne's comment and
asked how Kimberly was doing. When Thorne said nothing was going on
between him and Kimberly, Brooke said she didn't care. She retracted
her statement and admitted she did care, but worried that Thorne's sex
romp with Kimberly had been so meaningless. Thorne said he was ashamed
of his behavior, but insulted when Brooke casually commented that bagging
a hot young virgin couldn't be all that bad. Brooke apologized and said
his actions had hurt her. She could never get over the fact that he
betrayed their love by getting' jiggy wid Kimberly. (And Brooke was
still wearing that tacky leather dress.)
Meanwhile, pandemonium ensued at the wedding chapel. Amber told Rick
he didn't belong at the wedding. Sally threatened to call the police
and have Rick evicted. Amber assured everyone that Rick would leave
on his own. Sally called Rick a spoiled brat. (Oh, that was really low.)
Rick told everyone that Amber was only marrying CJ because he had custody
of Little Eric. Amber denied the accusation. Rick told everyone CJ was
going to lose custody of the baby. Little Eric's biological father would
change things. Fed up, CJ told Rick he was off his rocker and he would
never be able to see Little Eric again.
At that point, Deacon spoke from the back of the church. He proclaimed he
was "that little boy's daddy." Amber cringed at the thought
and sprang from the altar to attack Deacon for what he had done to Becky.
(Thank goodness CJ restrained her.) Sally told Deacon he was not on
the guest list. If he didn't leave, Sally threatened to call some friends
and they would remove his teeth! (That Sally is awfully sassy today,
no?) Deacon defended his actions by saying he wasn't aware that Becky
was ever pregnant. Amber turned to Rick and asked how he could have
gotten Deacon involved in their lives. Rick quietly said he had to take
drastic action to stop Amber from making a horrible mistake. Deacon
admitted he was no saint, but he had come to make things right with
his son. CJ railed against Rick and asked if he thought this stunt would
bring Amber closer to him. CJ said it showed how selfish Rick truly
was.
CJ told Deacon that they could work out visitation with him. Deacon laughed
and said he didn't want visitation, he was going to take his son. Eric
suggested the wedding be halted until they could sort out who would
have custody of the baby. Answering the Spectras questions, Connor confirmed
that the biological father would have rights that would supercede any
previous custody decisions. If Deacon was proven to be Little Eric's
father, he could indeed take the baby away from them.
CJ and Amber were horrified!

In Brooke's office at Forrester Creations, Thorne told his ex-lover
that their problems did not have to do with Kimberly, but with Brooke's
decision to protect her daughter. Thorne admitted he would always regret
his involvement with Kimberly, but hoped he and Brooke could move beyond
their rough times. Brooke cried as she told Thorne to leave.
Meanwhile, Kimberly wore a skimpy teddy in Thorne's office. (Aren't
there any changing rooms for models at Forrester Creations?) Thorne
entered and was surprised to see Kimberly using his office as a dressing
room. Kimberly explained she liked the mirror in his office. (Oh, yeah,
that mirror that was never there before.) As Brooke listened outside
the door, Kimberly attempted to seduce Thorne and asked him out to dinner.
Thorne made it clear that nothing would happen between them and left
the office.
Then it was Brooke's turn to talk to Kimberly. "You've turned into quite
a little tramp" Brooke hissed. Kimberly felt that was ironic (yes
I really do think) coming from Brooke. Brooke said that Kimberly looked
like a little girl trying too hard. Kimberly retorted "You weren't
much older than me when you got involved with Ridge
.or can you
remember back that far?" (ZAP! You are mean, girl!) Enraged, Brooke
told Kimberly that Thorne would never get involved with her. But then
the phone rang. Kimberly answered it. Thorne had called because he needed
to discuss a change in the shooting schedule. Kimberly put Thorne on
speaker phone and Brooke heard Thorne make dinner plans with Kimberly.
She accepted and hung up the phone. A triumphant Kimberly strode from
the room, leaving Brooke devastated and teary eyed.
Meanwhile, back at the church, Amber screamed that she would die before she
let Deacon take Little Eric. She picked up her son and stormed out of
the chapel. Rick followed. CJ then asked Deacon why he suddenly cared
about his son when he never really cared about Becky. Stephanie suggested
Deacon go home and wait until Amber had calmed down. Sally wanted to
know Deacon's angle. Stephanie interrupted that he owed no one any explanations.
Sally asked Deacon how the Forresters got him on their side. She wondered
if the Forresters had implied that CJ was an unfit father. She then
told Deacon how CJ had loved Becky and helped bring joy to the last
few months of her life. After the priest suggested the wedding be postponed,
Sally informed Deacon that Stephanie was only using him. "If you
continue to play ball with the Forresters, you'll regret the day you
heard the name Sally Spectra" Sally snarled. She instructed all
the guests to leave.
Outside, Stephanie and Eric told Deacon they would contact him when
they had more information. They were chilled when Deacon complimented
Stephanie on her earrings.
Rick followed Amber into the bride's room. To calm Amber's fears, Rick explained
that he had contacted Deacon in order for the biological father to sign
custody over to him (Rick). He did it so he, Amber and Little Eric could
be a family again. Amber was speechless. Then CJ barged into the room
and argued with Rick about what had happened. Next, Darla arrived and
told the trio that the wedding had officially been called off. She took
the baby and left for Sally's apartment. CJ continued to scream at Rick
about what a pathetic loser he was. Rick calmly said the entire matter
would be settled in a few days. CJ agreed and said that Connor would
send Deacon packing and then he and Amber would get married by a justice
of the peace.
CJ stomped out of the room. Amber began to follow, turned and gave
a faint smile to Rick and then left for home.
Oh, this is so very, very good.

At Sally's apartment, the Spectra gang worried about how to handle Deacon
Sharp. CJ wondered if Deacon was really Little Eric's father. Sally
and Connor agreed that he probably was the biological dad because the
Forresters were too savvy to try and pull a fast one. Sally asked Amber
if Rick had said anything to her about Deacon's appearance. Amber truthfully
said that Rick had not told her "how" he had located the scum
bucket. Sally called Becky's father, Joe, and discovered that Rick had
indeed found out Deacon's identity from him and Tillie. Sally and CJ
decided to go to The Lair to talk with Deacon, Connor left to take Darla
home and Clarke took off for parts unknown.
Meanwhile, Jonathan arrived at the Forrester mansion to tell Rick,
Stephanie and Eric that the custody papers were still not ready. He
was upset to learn that Rick had already given Deacon the $100,000.
After Jonathan left, Rick told his father and step-mother he had told
Amber of his plan to get custody of Little Eric from Deacon so they
could be together. He admitted that he hadn't told her that he was actually
paying Deacon off. Rick was confident Amber would not tell his plan
to the Spectras. Eric worried that Sally and CJ would fight them for
custody and pressure Amber to stay with them. Rick left to give Amber
support. Stephanie worried how Sally would react once she learned of
the $100,000 pay off.
Over at The Lair, Deacon told his girlfriend, Carmen, about interrupting
the wedding. Carmen figured both families must really love the baby.
Deacon told her not to get emotional since Little Eric was nothing more
than a meal ticket. Deacon laughed at what a "character" Sally
was and said she and her "loud-mouthed son" had better stay
away from him. He told Carmen the Forresters were "serious players",
but remembered he had their money and they didn't have the baby yet.
A little later, Sally and CJ approached Deacon at the empty bar. (Sally was
primping her hair like a 1940's movie starlet. CJ was trying to look
menacing, but just looked bored.) Sally told Deacon that she knew Rick
had found him and convinced him to stop CJ and Amber's wedding, but
she didn't know why. She noticed him drinking and overheard him and
Carmen talking about their apartment upstairs. No dummy, Sally put two
and two together and figured Deacon had no interest in actually raising
Little Eric himself. Oh no, super-sleuth Sally determined that Deacon
was going to give custody to Rick. CJ blew a gasket, but Sally advised
her son to remain calm. She asked Deacon how much money Rick had offered
him because she was prepared to make him an offer herself.
Back at Sally's apartment, Amber paced the floor with Little Eric and wondered
about their future. Rick showed up at the door. Amber told him he shouldn't
have brought Deacon into their lives. Rick said he took drastic measures
to ensure Amber didn't marry CJ. Rick assured Amber that Little Eric
would soon be safe with them. Rick professed that he would do anything
to get Amber back into his life. Amber couldn't believe that Rick would
do so much just to win her back. Rick said she was the only woman he
would ever love and he would pay any price to have her back.
Yeah, like $100,000!
Episode Date: Friday, November 17, 2000
At Sally's apartment, Amber told Rick she was overwhelmed with everything
he had done for them to be together with Little Eric. She was a little
upset to learn that Rick had paid Deacon for custody of the baby. Rick
said the amount didn't matter because he would do anything to have things
the way they used to be. When Amber stated that Rick seemed certain
she would return to him, Rick said no one knew Amber better than he
did. Rick was impressed with how Amber had grown over the past year.
He was glad to get a second chance with Amber. He knew Amber's feelings
for CJ were not the same as she had for him. Amber replied the CJ loved
her and she didn't want to hurt him. Rick understood but said "All
my life I've been searching for someone. I can't let you go." (All
my life!?! Hey, Rick, you're what - 18, 19? I don't think you've been
searching ALL your life. Besides, I seem you recall skipping ages 6-11
and 14-16 all together.) The conversation was interrupted by Jonathan
calling to tell Rick the legal documents were ready
for Deacon to sign. As Rick left, he told Amber they would be a family
again very soon. Amber couldn't speak and only hugged Rick good-bye.
Alone, Amber told Little Eric that no matter who gained custody of
him as a father, she would always be his mother. With a gentle prompt,
Little Eric even said "Mama." (Mr. Smartypants is not overly
sentimental, but that was the cutest thing I've ever seen on a soap.)
Amber assured her son that no one would ever hurt him.
Meanwhile, over at the Forrester mansion, poor Taylor was demoted to
being a character asking questions so Stephanie could recap the events
of Rick finding Deacon, stopping Amber and CJ's wedding, and re-gaining
custody of Little Eric. (How embarrassing. And why was Taylor over there
anyway? Shouldn't she be mothering some children or massaging some hot
oil into Ridge's shoulders or something?) Stephanie received a call
from Rick regarding the custody papers. She grabbed her purse and left
Taylor wishing she had a storyline of her own.
And over at The Lair, Deacon told Sally and CJ he had no intention of discussing
his Forrester agreement with them. When Sally learned Deacon had not
signed his parental rights away, she offered him twice as much as the
Forresters had. Deacon was taken aback and asked if Sally knew how much
$100,000 doubled was. "Let's see, if I remember my third grade
math, that would be $200,000" Sally sassed. Deacon doubted Sally
had that kind of money and hesitated. Hot-headed CJ screamed that Sally
had offered everything she had, what more did Deacon want? Deacon declined
the offer saying he thought Sally was in over her head. Sally told Deacon
to ignore what CJ had said. He was only trying to protect her. That's
what the Spectra family did - not like the Forresters. CJ noticed Rick
and Jonathan entering the bar. Deacon excused himself to meet with them.
Stephanie arrived and joined Deacon, Rick and Jonathan. Jonathan presented
the legal documents and Rick told Deacon to sign them. Deacon glanced
over at Sally who shook her head, indicating he should not sign the
papers. Deacon smiled and told Rick he would give custody to Rick for
an additional $100,000! Stephanie was indignant, but pulled our her
own checkbook and wrote a check for the money. She said she'd hand it
over when Deacon signed the document.
Deacon looked at Stephanie. He looked at Rick. He looked at Sally.
He picked up the pen. (I think it was a Bic Banana. Remember those?)
Deacon looked at Stephanie. He looked at Rick. He looked at Sally. He
looked at the papers. (All right, do it, would you?) Deacon looked at
Stephanie. He looked at Rick. He looked at Sally. He
put
the
pen
on
the
paper

One of the great mysteries of life is why on earth Taylor visited Amber at
Sally's apartment. But she did. Taylor explained she had heard the story
of the wedding interruption from Stephanie. Amber admitted she was confused.
She had been ready to marry CJ. Taylor mentioned that Amber should have
to convince herself to marry someone. That action would not benefit
Little Eric in the long run. Amber said she loved CJ because of his
loyalty and support. But she was attracted to Rick because of his principles
and convictions. She said they used to be happy before she lied about
their child. Taylor advised that a lie could make a relationship stronger
if the reason for the lie is understood and the partners forgive each
other. (Uh, Taylor, you may want to jot that down because you're going
to need that advice later.) Taylor wanted Amber to follow her heart.
Amber said she would try, but she worried about Deacon being in their
lives. Becky had told her what a horrible person he was. Amber hoped
Deacon would sign the papers and get out of their lives. Taylor scoffed
and said Deacon was no match for the Forresters and the Spectras.
Meanwhile, at The Lair, Sally and CJ watched the Forrester transaction
from the sidelines. CJ was nervous, but Sally told her son that the
game wasn't over until Deacon signed the custody agreement. And what
do you know? Deacon decided not to sign the papers! He explained that
it wasn't just about money. Jonathan threatened to bring extortion charges
against Deacon who, in return, said he would tell the authorities about
the Forresters trying to buy a baby! Stephanie told Deacon they were
offering him more money than he'd ever seen and providing his child
with a perfect home. It was the best deal for both of the. "Let's
cut the crap. Sign the documents" Stephanie then snarled. Deacon
admitted Stephanie was convincing, but he wasn't going to sign just
yet. When she asked what had changed his mind, they all looked over
and saw Sally and CJ.
Well, child, you can imagine the argument that ensued. Oh, how the
fur did fly. CJ attacked Rick for starting all the trouble. Stephanie
was angry to deduce that Sally had also offered Deacon money for Little
Eric. Rick pointed out that Deacon was playing the two families against
each other. As Deacon laughed, Jonathan hissed "You are the scum
of the earth. I'll see that you pay for this." Deacon snapped his
fingers for Carmen to join him and they left for the apartment upstairs.
Sally and Stephanie argued about who's fault the mess was. Sally said
she would deal with Deacon in her own way.
"He has no principles. So birds of a feather flock together. Is
that it?" Stephanie sassed.
"You absolutely astonish me. You know that? Every time I think you have
reached the positive apex of pomposity and arrogance, you astonish me
again. You go one step further. I had nothing to do with any of this.
This is all your doing. Today was supposed to be my son's wedding day
- a day of joy and happiness for him. In stead, it's turned into this
debacle. I don't' know how you could justify what you did, encouraging
Rick to come in and break up that ceremony like that. And I still will
never understand how you could possibly justify brining this monster,
Deacon Sharp, into our lives, thereby putting the life of an innocent
baby in some kind of jeopardy. I don't know how you can forgive yourself
for that. The truth is you don't have any justification for any of it."
That was Sally spitting out one of her famous tirades. I think you'll
agree it was a classic. "
positive apex of pomposity and arrogance
."
Oh, that's really good.
Stephanie volleyed back Sally was just as guilty for pressuring her son and
Amber to enter a marriage that never would have worked. She also said
she didn't have to justify herself to anyone. After CJ warned Rick to
stay away from Amber, everyone left the bar in a huff.
Upstairs, Deacon relished in his power over the Forresters and the
Spectras. When Carmen asked what his next move would be, Deacon pulled
her hair and told her never to question him again. He then whispered
that he had all the players in his pockets, "except the lovely
Amber Moore."
Rick called Amber with the bad news that Deacon had not signed the
custody papers. Amber was sad, but told Rick to get away from him as
soon as possible. She would gladly stay with CJ since he still had custody.
Rick swallowed hard and said that Deacon technically had parental rights
to Little Eric. Amber immediately dropped the phone and ran to the baby
and held him tightly as she cried.

New day. It's about time.
Sally arrived at her office at Spectra Fashions and surprised Darla with three
snake wranglers handling a huge python named Patsy! Sally had devised
a marketing plan for the new clothing line of reptilian prints. The
huge snake was going to be featured at the fashion show and in all their
advertising. They joked that Patsy reminded them of Stephanie. Darla
liked the idea, but was concerned that Sally let Clarke know about it.
"You know how Clarke feels about snakes" Darla reminded. (Uh,
no, we have no idea how Clarke feels about snakes. But I've got a feeling
this could be a plot point we should watch out for.) When Sally asked
where Clarke was, Darla feared he might be visiting Morgan. Darla said
she got a bad feeling about Miss DeWitt. Sally gave a double take and
rubbed her chin in agreement.
Well, it appears Darla was correct. In her office, Morgan shared a friendly
cup of tea with Clarke and told him about her wonderful conversation
with Ridge in the storage closet. She explained that Ridge had feelings
for their unborn child. Clarke scoffed and asked if she really thought
she and Ridge would be a happy family. He tried to impress upon her
that nothing had really changed. Ridge was once again lying to her to
keep her quiet about the secret. Clarke was certain that Ridge would
not sneak time away from his current family to spend any time with Morgan
once her baby was born. Morgan admitted she hadn't figured out all the
details, but thought half of Ridge's attention was better than none.
Clarke exploded that Ridge wouldn't give her that much time and he was
a scoundrel to treat her so shabbily. Clarke proposed that Morgan move
in with him and he would take care of her and the baby. Morgan replied
that she wasn't ready to give up on Ridge. Irate, Clarke told Morgan
that Ridge was stringing her along . He thought it might be best if
the paternity truth were revealed so she could get on with her life.
Morgan told Clarke to get out of her office. She didn't want to hear
such talk anymore.
Meanwhile, Stephanie visited Ridge in his office and quickly told him the
Deacon Sharp saga. When Stephanie asked if Morgan was behaving herself,
Ridge replied that he was more concerned about Clarke. Ridge told how
Clarke had taunted him about his involvement in Morgan's baby's life.
Ridge wondered if Clarke knew he was the father of the child and worried
that Clarke could ruin his life with that information. To further prove
that she has no story line what-so-ever, Taylor burst into Ridge's office
and happily hugged her hubby. After a long kiss, she asked if she had
interrupted something important. (That's it! That's all Taylor got to
do today.)
A little later, Stephanie sauntered into Morgan's office and told the
young designer she wanted to discuss Clarke Garrison.
At the same time, Clarke walked by Ridge's office and saw him eating
lunch at his desk. (My, how plebian.) Clarke told himself he would not
let Ridge hurt Morgan any further. Clarke went into the office and told
Ridge to stop manipulating Morgan. Clarke informed him that Morgan was
in love with Ridge. Ridge said Morgan was well aware that he was a happily
married man. Ridge suspected that Morgan had rejected Clarke's advances
and Clarke was now blaming him. Infuriated, Clarke told Ridge not to
mess with him. He knew who the father of Morgan's baby was. Clarke sat
in Ridge's chair and put his feet up on the desk.
"The jig is up, Ridge. I own you, pal" Clarke smirked.

Ridge ordered Clarke to get out of his office, but Clarke replied that he
was in charge now. Clarke told Ridge that he (Clarke) knew he (Ridge)
was the father of Morgan's baby. Clarke proved it by giving details
of the fake e-mail and doctored phone message. Knowing he was caught,
Ridge exclaimed that Morgan had tricked him. Laughing, Clarke said Taylor
probably would have forgiven Ridge for sleeping with Morgan if he had
been honest, but since he'd been lying for months, she would throw him
out in the street. Ridge dared Clarke to go public with information,
it would be one man's word against the other's. Clarke said he knew
keeping the secret was eating Ridge up inside. It was now time for Ridge
to accept that Morgan wasn't his puppet. Clarke explained that he had
promised Morgan he wouldn't tell the truth, but it was now time for
Ridge to pay. As Clarke laughed, Ridge socked him in the mouth and left
the office. Massaging his sore jaw, Clarke smiled with victory.
In Morgan's office, Stephanie told Miss DeWitt that her "boyfriend"
was acting smug, as if he knew the paternity of her baby. Morgan replied
that Clarke was not her boyfriend. Morgan swore that she had kept her
promise and not told Clarke the truth about her child. Morgan pointed
out that it would gain her nothing to alienate Ridge in that manner.
Stephanie told Morgan she'd be keeping an eye on her and left the room.
Alone, Morgan wondered why Clarke was causing so much trouble. She
wasn't alone for long, though. Big, bad Ridge stormed into the office.
Even though Morgan denied having told Clarke the truth, Ridge screamed
and asked how she could have betrayed him - AGAIN.
At the Forrester guest house, Amber visited Rick and lashed out at
him for dragging Deacon into their lives. Rick pleaded with her to keep
calm. Amber feared that Deacon might decide to take Little Eric away
from her. Rick assured her that nothing would harm the baby. He was
happy to learn that CJ and Amber had not signed a marriage certificate,
so they were not married. Amber wondered why Deacon was delaying the
deal and marveled that Rick had offered him $200,000. Rick replied that
true love had no price. Impatient to hear from Deacon, Rick called him
using a speaker phone so Amber could listen in. Deacon was angry that
Rick was being so pushy and threatened to keep Little Eric for himself.
Amber screamed he couldn't do that. Deacon was surprised that she was
in the room. He told Amber and Rick to keep out of his face and hung
up on them. Amber grabbed her purse and asked Rick to watch the baby.
She was not going to let Deacon scam them the way he had scammed Becky.
Later, Amber showed up at The Lair and was directed to Deacon's apartment
by the bouncer. Deacon answered the door with his shirt open. (It was
no Forrester flesh, but it's been along time since we've seen torso
action at all. We'll take it!) Angered by her persisitance, Deacon told
Amber the kid wasn't for sale right now. Amber begged for ten minutes
of his time. Deacon gave her five. Amber said it was clear Deacon had
no interest in raising the child, so he should give him to a good home
- to her. "That's very touching" Deacon snarled, "Why
don't you put it on a card and send it to someone who cares." (When
you care enough to send the very best.)
Deacon opened the door for Amber to leave. Panicking, Amber said she
could offer him something CJ and Rick could not offer. That piqued Deacon's
attention. He shut the door and locked it. Amber turned away and wondered
what she had just done.
What are you offering, Amber? Tupperware? Avon? Amway?

The Bold and the Beautiful was not broadcast today due to the Thanksgiving

a traditional holiday dinner by gnawing on a turkey drumstick.

The Bold and the Beautiful was not broadcast today due to the Thanksgiving
holiday in the United States. I'll bet Stephanie was first in line when
Wal-Mart opened at 6:00 AM.
Episode Date: Monday, November 27, 2000
Ridge and Morgan argued in her office. Morgan tried to defend her actions
by saying Clarke had promised not to tell anyone that Ridge was the
father of her baby. Ridge didn't want to hear any excuses and told Morgan
it was over between them. She had betrayed him for the very last time.
Morgan said she had to talk to someone when Ridge had been so angry
at her. Ridge exploded when he realized Clarke had known the truth all
along. Morgan told Ridge she would handle Clarke. She would not allow
him to hurt his family or ruin their relationship. Ridge spit that they
did not have a relationship. Morgan pleaded with Ridge to forgive her.
She needed him - their baby needed him. Ridge was incredulous. He told
Morgan that she made him sick. Devastated, Morgan left her office. Ridge
walked into the hallway. He told himself he would not allow Clarke to
destroy his family. Ridge decided he had to his wife the truth. (Yeah,
like that will really happen.)
Meanwhile, Stephanie passed the Forrester photography studio and found Giovanni
shooting photos of Taylor, Thomas, Phoebe and Little Stephanie. Taylor
explained that she wanted to find a way to thank Ridge for having been
so sweet to her and the children lately. Stephanie thought how Morgan's
secret could ruin Taylor and Ridge's happiness. (And by the way, the
children looked really cute, but Taylor was painted up like a truck
stop hooker! I think a more subtle make-up scheme was in order.)
Over at Spectra Fashions, Clarke returned to his office and thought
out loud. (Is there any other way?) He said he had to tell Ridge of
his knowledge of Morgan's secret because he didn't want Ridge to take
advantage of her any longer. As he recalled Morgan's anger during a
previous conversation, Clarke decided he wasn't sorry for what he had
done. Sally barged into Clarke's office with Darla, Patsy and Python
and her handlers. (Patsy needs the handlers, not Darla.) Clarke (who
is apparently afraid of snakes) didn't want the python anywhere near
him. He didn't like Sally's idea of using the snake in the advertising
campaign. Sally told Clarke that the photo shoot was all set up and
would only take a few days to complete. She assured Clarke the python
would be securely placed in her cage each night. (The snake wranglers
explained Patsy would be traumatized is she was moved too often.)
The discussion was interrupted by Morgan storming into Clarke's office
and commenting on the room being full of snakes. Morgan told everyone
to scram. Alone with Clarke, Miss DeWitt told Clarke he had no idea
what he had just done.
At the Forrester guest house, CJ arrived and asked Rick where Amber
was. Rick had to confess that she had gotten upset when Deacon threatened
to keep Little Eric and she may have gone to confront him. CJ screamed
that Rick had pushed Deacon too far. Rick reminded CJ that Deacon definitely
did not want the baby. He was certain that Amber would not do anything
crazy. He even suggested that Amber had gone to Insomnia looking for
CJ. As CJ left for the coffee house, he told Rick to enjoy baby sitting
Little Eric, because he would make certain that Rick never saw the child
again.
So, over at Deacon's apartment (how many sets are we going to see today?),
Deacon liked that Amber had a proposition for him. Amber said what she
had was more valuable than money - a mother's love. Deacon was obviously
disappointed as Amber said she loved Deacon's son and would raise him
in a manner she had Deacon had not known. She was appealing to the goodness
of his heart. Getting right in Amber's face, Deacon said he had no goodness
in his heart. In fact, he had hoped Amber was going to offer something
more enticing than motherhood. Deacon massaged Amber's shoulders and
said he was sure the two of them could work out a sweet deal - just
the two of them.
Oh, that Deacon Sharp is a bad, bad man.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 28, 2000
Child! You just can't believe all the people and places we saw today.
You might need a scorecard to keep up with everyone.
Well, first of all, Bridget visited Rick at the Forrester guesthouse.
Apparently, she had been scouring Los Angeles looking for Amber. (There's
an effective use of time.) Since they were both worried, Rick called
The Lair. The bartender told him a blonde fitting Amber's description
had gone upstairs to visit Deacon in his apartment. While Bridget stayed
to watch Little Eric, Rick took off.
Meanwhile, in Deacon's apartment, Amber didn't like him chewing on her neck.
She tried to pull away from him, but he grabbed her ass. (In case you,
dear reader, are quite naive, Deacon is suggesting that Amber have sex
with him. In exchange, he'll grant her custody of Little Eric. Now really,
what sense does that make? Sex with Amber or $200,000! No offense, honey,
you are a very nice girl, but $200,000 worth? I don't think so.) Amber
questioned how she would know Deacon would live up to his end of the
bargain. Deacon replied there were no guarantees. He was in charge and
everyone had to do what he wanted. Amber eyed the door as a means of
escape, but Deacon told her she'd never make it there before he stopped
her. Deacon them appealed to Amber's carnal nature. He told he she could
not ignore her "wild side" and encouraged her to let her "bad
girl" out. Deacon then suggested that his idea would give Amber
control over her life. If she had custody of Little Eric, she wouldn't
be under the power of either the Forresters or the Spectras. Suddenly,
Rick showed up and pounded on the door and screaming Amber's name. Amber
opened the door and Rick threatened Deacon. The young Forrester told
the evil one to leave Amber alone. As Amber and Rick left, Deacon told
Amber he had made an open ended offer. Rick was furious as they exited.
Deacon chugged from his Jack Daniel's bottle and laughed about what
a good time he had had.
Over at Forrester Creations, Taylor showed the photo of herself and
the children she had chosen for Ridge. She going to return to the photo
studio, have it framed, and give it to Ridge that very night. They were
interrupted by Ridge coming into the room. Taylor hid the photo behind
her back (always an effective hiding place) and scampered from the room
making an excuse of picking up Thomas. Stephanie noticed Ridge's anxiety
and asked what was shakin'. Ridge explained that Morgan had indeed told
Clarke that he (Ridge) was the father of her unborn child. Stephanie
was furious! Ridge admitted that Clarke held his (Ridge's) future in
his hands.
Meanwhile, at Spectra Fashions, Sally and Darla returned to Sally's
office and discussed Clarke's uncomfortable attitude with Patsy, the
python, and how angry Morgan had been with Clarke. The snake wranglers
showed up in Sally's office and explained that Patsy was agitated. She
had tensed up when the angry woman showed up in Clarke's office. "Takes
one to know one" Darla quipped. The snake was placed in her cage
(totally safe, the wranglers explained) outside Sally's office. Sally,
Darla, and the snake handlers left for the night. (I'm assuming Darla
was going to show them a fun time on the town.)
While in Clarke's office, Morgan told Clarke he had ruined any chances she
ever had of winning Ridge. Clarke told her she would someday thank him
for saving her from Ridge and he (Clarke) would be happy to help her
raise her child. Morgan screamed that Clarke had only told Ridge the
truth for revenge. He had taken a trust with her and used it for his
own benefit. She told Clarke that he had no idea how she felt, but he
soon would. Morgan stomped out of his office and impatiently waited
for the elevator - and the snake's cage was right behind her.
A little later, the snake cage was wheeled just outside Clarke's door. An
unseen person opened the cage door and Patsy slithered out. Clarke was
in his office. He was sorry Morgan was angry with him, but confident
he had done the right thing. He kicked back in his chair. Oh no! Look
out, Clarke! There's a huge python slithering across your office carpet!
Now we didn't see this coming miles away, did we?

Deacon stood on his balcony and recalled tempting Amber to have sex with him.
Deacon regretted "that little Ken doll, Rick" showing up and
spoiling his fun. Deacon was confident he'd soon have Amber. Carmen
wandered into the apartment. She was upset because the bartender had
told her about Amber's visit. Deacon told Carmen not to be jealous,
Amber's visit was all part of his scam to get more money out of the
Forresters. He promised to take Carmen away to a tropical island once
he got the pay off. Deacon informed Carmen that he intended to up his
asking price from $200,000 to $1,000,000! He was certain the Forresters
would be able to pay it.
(In yesterday's episode, when Amber left Deacon's apartment, Deacons was wearing
a long-sleeve, dark shirt that was open, exposing his torso. Hate that,
don't we? Today's episode found Deacon still on his balcony, but with
a different shirt, zipped shut. He was wearing that shirt when Carmen
entered the apartment. At one point, Deacon stepped away from Carmen.
Three seconds later we saw him sitting on his couch wearing a bright
red shirt with a black T-shirt underneath. Continuity!)
Over at the Forrester guest house, Rick blew up when Amber told him
about Deacon suggesting she sleep with him to gain custody of Little
Eric. Jonathan arrived and Rick requested they find a way to keep Deacon
away from Amber and Little Eric. Being a shifty lawyer (apparently),
Jonathan had devised a plan to trap Deacon. He suggested Rick get Deacon
on tape requesting money in exchange for the baby. It was extortion
and illegal to sell a child. Deacon would then certainly lose custody
and probably be sent to jail. However (and it's a great big "however",
I might add) Rick first had to get Deacon to sign a document giving
Rick temporary custody of the baby. Without a signature on the document,
the tape of Deacon would be worthless.
Then, as if by chance (or script), Deacon called Rick and asked to
get together. Rick convinced Deacon to come to the guest house. (Address
is 369 Willow Hill Road. Make a note of it!) Jonathan planned to tape
the conversation when Deacon arrived. (Sounds dicey to me.)
At Forrester Creations, Stephanie advised Ridge he had to tell Taylor
the truth before Clarke had a chance to ruin his marriage. Ridge berated
himself for having fallen for Morgan's tricks. Stephanie told him he
had made an honest mistake and told him to hurry home to his family.
Ridge left. Stephanie remained in Ridge's office and cursed Morgan and
Clarke for screwing with Ridge's life.
Taylor arrived home and found the framed photo of her and the kids had arrived.
With Catherine's (the babysitter) help, Taylor assembled Thomas, Phoebe,
and Little Stephanie in the living room. When Ridge arrived home, they
family presented him with the portrait. Ridge was touched by the gift.
Catherine ushered the children off to bed as Taylor suggested a night
of hot sex together. (With Ridge, not Catherine.) But Ridge told Taylor
he had something important to tell her.
But the real story was going on in Clarke's office. He called Morgan's
house and left her a message. Clarke was confident Morgan would forgive
him and call back. He decided to wait for her call and stretched out
on the couch in his office. As he snoozed, the python, who had been
unleashed by an un-seen person, slithered up to Clarke's legs! As the
snake moved up Clarke's body, Clarke dreamed Morgan was massaging him.
But then Clarke awoke in horror to find the python had wrapped him tight as a drum and was
licking his face with her reptilian tongue!
Oh, puh-leeze! Are we to believe that a huge snake like this is crawling
all over you, wrapping around you and you don't even wake up? Worse
than not waking up, you actually think the slimy creature is your dream
lover massing your crotch! Yeah, that's really believable. But it is
so trashy good that I love it.

In his office, a panicked Clarke struggled to free himself from the
huge python's grip!
Meanwhile, Taylor had lured Ridge upstairs to their bedroom. She emerged
from the bathroom in a slinky black nightgown and was disappointed to
find him still clothed. Taylor had some sweet lovin' on her mind. Ridge
told Taylor he loved her. Taylor wanted him to show her. (She really
is a horny little bugger tonight, isn't she?) Her seduction was interrupted
by a phone call from Stephanie. Taylor left the room to check on Thomas.
Ridge told his mother he had to force himself to tell Taylor he had
fathered Morgan's child before Clarke had a chance to tell her. Stephanie
said she would pray for Ridge and his family. After hanging up the phone,
Ridge wondered how he would be able to admit the truth to his wife.
Back in his office, Clarke continued to wiggle under the weight of
the snake!
Taylor returned to the bedroom and was ready to get it on. Ridge said
he was always attracted to her, but there was something he had to tell
her. It was something that had happened months ago. Taylor was puzzled
why Ridge felt a desperate need to tell her now. She had a desperate
need of her own that needed attention.
Back in his office, Clarke tried to escape the python's coil!
In the apartment above The Lair, Deacon reveled in the fact that his
money grabbing scheme was perfect and easy. He was confident nothing
could go wrong. Carmen worried that the Forrester might prove to be
a tough competitor. Deacon was certain they wouldn't try anything foolish
and kissed Carmen good-bye.
Back in his office, Clarke rolled off the couch with the shake tight
around him and smashed onto the coffee table!
At the Forrester mansion, Jonathan prepared Rick, Amber, Eric and Stephanie
for their sting operation. He gave Rick an earphone to wear. Jonathan
would be in the study where he could give Rick directions through the
ear piece. Jonathan then showed the Forresters where he had hidden a
multi-directional microphone in the flower arrangement. He would be
able to hear everything they said in the living room and record it in
the study. (What is this? A Hardy Boys mystery. Oh yeah, It's The Caper
of the Dumb Leading the Dumber.) Jonathan made it clear they had to
get Deacon stating he had no interest in Little Eric's welfare. That
would prove him an unfit parent. They also had to catch him demanding
money for custody of the baby. That would prove he was extorting money
and selling a child. He would go to prison for that offense. Jonathan
explained this was the only was to keep Deacon out of their lives. If
they simply paid him the money he requested, he could conceivably keep
asking for more money through the years. Jonathan then made it clear
that Deacon had to first sign the document granting Rick temporary guardianship
of Little Eric. Then, when Deacon was arrested, Rick would be given
full custody of the baby. Eric worried that Deacon would catch on to
their scheme and become violent. Jonathan hid in the study with his
groovy surveillance equipment and prepared for Deacon's arrival.
Back in his office, Clarke and the snake rolled from the coffee table
to the floor.
And at the Forrester mansion, Deacon arrived and was impressed with the luxury
of the Forrester home. He was impressed by the fresh floral arrangements
and even stooped over to sniff the very roses where the microphone was
hidden. Everyone was nervous. (Yeah, a low class character like Deacon
is going to be interested in the scent of the roses in the floral arrangement.
Give me a break!) Rick wasted no time in asking Deacon why he had come.
Deacon didn't want to spill the beans but eventually told them he wanted
$1,000,000 in exchange for custody of his son. Jonathan was pleased
with the progress.
Back at Spectra Fashions, the night janitor noticed Clarke's door ajar. He
entered the room and found a lifeless Clarke on the floor encased by
the python. Just then, one of the snake wranglers walked up and noticed
the empty snaked cage in the hall. He rushed into the office and tried
to pry the snake from Clarke's still form. He told the janitor to call
911 because Clarke wasn't breathing! The wrangler started to administer
mouth to mouth resuscitation (on Clarke, not the snake) as the janitor
placed the emergency call.
Back in Taylor's bedroom, Ridge was just about to tell her awful truth
when there was a knock on the door. Catherine, the nanny, entered and
told the stunned Forresters that she had been listening to the radio
and heard that Clarke Garrison had been strangled by a giant python.
It had been reported that Clarke was dead!
(What kind of Los Angeles radio station interrupts their never ending
hits to tell the city that a two bit fashion designer from a knock off
house was attacked by a giant snake? It must have been a slow news day.)
