Thorne and Macy sat at Stephanie's bedside as La Forrester told them she was so happy that they were together. Stephanie said she felt lucky to have survived the stroke and to have her family all together. She told her son that she saw things differently than before her collapse. She now saw things they way they really were. (Not hardly, Steph. You're living in a dream world where Macy is going to sing at her own wedding to Thorne. She's gonna be singing The Wedding Bell Blues any day now.)
Brooke left Ridge's office and ran into Thorne in the hallway. She told Thorne she thought she had finally gotten through to Ridge. Brooke and Thorne embraced as Ridge talked to himself in his office. He told himself he didn't want to hurt Brooke anymore than he already had, but this relationship with his younger brother would never happen.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 2, 1999 Rick and CJ drank coffee at Insomnia. CJ showed Rick a photo spread of Kimberly in a fashion magazine. CJ commented that Kimberly would have every guy on campus after her when they saw the pictures. He then asked if Kimberly was still hung up on Rick. Rick reminded CJ he was married with a child. As Rick left for Forrester Creations, CJ told his friend he thought he was doing the right thing. "Hang in there, brother" was CJ's sage advice. (Talk about your throw away scenes. Can we please have a story line for CJ? I want to see more of him.)
You may not have to wait too long, honey. Becky and Raymond continued their dinner conversation in Paris. (We know they are in Paris because we get to see come canned footage of the Arc de Triomphe before their first scene each day. Subtle.) Becky was worried by Raymond's comments about Kimberly. Raymond said Amber would not let anyone or anything hurt her marriage. When he learned Kimberly was modeling for Forrester, Raymond was certain Amber would not have allowed that to happen if she thought Kimberly was a threat. Raymond summed it all up by saying nothing would hurt that marriage as long as Amber had that baby. (Wrong thing to say, buddy.) When Raymond left the table, Becky called Amber on her cell phone. Amber rushed into the guest house hoping it was Rick calling to make up. Becky said she had just called to check on things. She let it slip that a "little bird" had told her about Rick's relationship with Kimberly. Amber started to sweat. Becky put Raymond on the phone when he came back to the table. Now Amber was really sweating. Before she could ask Raymond any questions, Becky took the phone back and hung up. Becky thanked Raymond for a nice evening. They agreed to see each other again while he was in Paris recording his new album. (Whatever, Mary.) Back in Los Angeles, Amber called her mother and left a message on her answering machine to come visit as soon as possible. When she hung up, Becky called from her Paris chateau. Becky said she wanted photos of Little Eric and to know he was all right. She didn't want her son to be raised in a home where the parents did not love each other. Amber assured Becky that everything was going well for her and Rick and she would try and send pictures as soon as possible. "As long as I've got reason to worry, so do you" were Becky's parting words. Alone, Becky thumbed through a fashion magazine and saw Kimberly's photo spread. Becky wondered to herself if Kimberly could answer all the questions she had about Rick and Amber's marriage. (Girl, she could tell you all that and give you a bag a Lay's Doritos.)
Episode Date: Wednesday, November 3, 1999 Becky stewed in her Paris pad. (We knew it was Paris today because we saw the Eiffel Tower before Becky's first scene. Do they think we are so stupid that we don't remember that Becky's in Paris these days?) Becky remembered Amber's promise to give Little Eric a perfect home. She believed that Amber meant what she had said but was afraid it wasn't happening. Looking at Kimberly's fashion spread again, Becky decided the only way to be sure of Rick's feelings was to call Kimberly! At Spectra Fashions, Kimberly told Sally (her new confidant?) of her run-in with Amber. Kimberly couldn't figure out why Rick would stay with such a horrible person. Sally gently explained that Amber was the mother of his son, that is why he wanted to make a home with her. Kimberly thought a home without love would be worse for Rick and Little Eric than living without a wife and mother. Their conversation was interrupted by an overseas phone call for Kimberly. Sally left for the cutting room to give her some privacy. Now get this. In Paris, Becky recalled CJ telling her that Kimberly's father worked at Spectra. Becky called information and just happened to find Kimberly there. Wouldn't any normal person have called her home to try and find her? Or how about calling Forrester where she works. Yeah, that's the ticket. No, Becky decided to call her father's place of employment to reach her. I guess Becky's glad she did because that's where Kimberly was. Becky must have read the script.
Meanwhile Amber, Rick and Little Eric were at the hospital to visit
Stephanie. Becky tired to apologize for her fight with Kimberly but
Rick didn't want to talk about it. He said he was Alone, Rick told Stephanie that he couldn't figure Amber out. He was frustrated because even though he had repeatedly told Amber he was committed to her and the baby she still acted insecure.
Episode Date: Thursday, November 4, 1999 Kimberly and Becky continued their Trans-Atlantic telephone conversation. Kimberly hit the nail on the head and said she knew Becky wasn't a reporter because she had the phoniest French accent she had ever heard. (Didn't I say that yesterday?) Becky then lost the accent and admitted she wasn't a reporter. She said she understood Kimberly's pain. She knew what it was like to love him and miss him and not be able to be with him. Kimberly assumed Becky was talking about Rick. Becky said she wasn't referring to Rick. Kimberly insisted the caller tell her what she was talking about or she'd hang up. "I could change your life with one sentence, Kimberly. But I made a promise and I can't" Becky stated. True to her word, Kimberly slammed the phone down.
Back at Spectra, Sally returned to her office. Kimberly explained the interview was a hoax. The woman had wanted to find out information on Rick and Amber. Sally was puzzled. The entire episode made Kimberly quite sure Amber was keeping another secret. At the hospital, Rick apologized to Stephanie for laying all his troubles on her. Stephanie assured her step-grandson she would always be there for him. She asked if Amber had anything to feel insecure about. Steph asked Rick if he was attentive to Amber. Rick said it was hard because he was a student and had to work at Forrester. Stephanie said Amber didn't like him working close to Kimberly. Perhaps that made her insecure. La Forrester asked Rick what he wanted. Rick said it didn't matter what he wanted, it only mattered what he needed to do. Stephanie offered advice by saying the trick of life was combining the thing you wanted to do with the thing you needed to do. Stephanie asked how Rick felt about Amber. He replied that she was his wife. Rick feared that Amber wasn't being open with him about everything. Stephanie asked if Rick was being open with Amber in return? (That's something to think about young man.)
But Ridge had a surprise! He had purchased Pierce Peterson's house and wanted to surprise Taylor with it. So he and Jack blindfolded her and took her to the new house and led her through the front door - WHILE SHE WAS CARRYING A BABY! Can you believe it? Blindfolded and carrying a new born! That may be one of the stupidest thing I've ever seen on television. I can' even believe a stage mother would allow her child to be held by a blind-folded actress. What was everyone thinking? It would have been so simple to place the two babies in a stroller to take them to the new house. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
By the Forester pool Tawny informed Amber it would take drastic measures to keep Becky's mouth shut. Amber said Becky had promised not to tell anyone that Little Eric was actually her son and not Amber's. Tawny said they couldn't believe Becky and she would take care of her. Amber was afraid putting pressure on Becky would backfire. Tawny said they had to do it for Little Eric's sake. Tawny planned to stop Becky and she planned to do it in Paris. "This game is over and I'm stopping it in Paris" Tawny stated. As her mother left for the airport, Amber begged her not to do anything stupid. Yeah, right. Tawny the toll booth operator/collector is going to Los Angeles International Airport and just hop on a plane to Paris. Hello? How are you going to pay for this little trip? I highly doubt you brought your passport when you drove in from Furnace Creek - that is, if you have one. And what about luggage and clothing? Today's episode was full of nonsense. Final scene. Fade to Kimberly wondering what life would be like with Rick if she uncovered the truth about Amber. Fade to Amber deciding to focus on Little Eric and Rick and hoping her mother can keep her cool. Fade to Tawny sitting on the plane and vowing to bury Becky's secret. It was a fantastic episode!
Episode Date: Friday, November 5, 1999 Oh my goodness the time is just flying by! It's another day already. It surely will be Christmas before we know it. Amber sat by the Forrester pool and talked to Little Eric. She told her son that she was worried about Becky telling Raymond too much information about him. She also worried that Grandma (Tawny) would go to far in her attempt to silence Becky, but Amber also hoped her mother would come through for them. Yawn. Over in Paris, Becky sat at her desk at work and fondled Brooke's business card. She contemplated calling Brooke to tell her the truth about Rick and Amber's baby. Raymond showed up to "check out some Forrester gear." What on earth is that about? Becky told Raymond that she had called Kimberly to inquire about her relationship with Rick. Raymond wasn't impressed and told Becky that he never meant to tell her any information that might hurt Amber. Becky said she just had to know the truth. "You're trippin'" Raymond told Becky. He deduced there was more going on than Becky was telling him. She said that maybe someday she'd fill him in. Raymond advised Becky not to blow the good gig she had going at Forrester International. Becky said he should worry about Amber, not her.
Dr. Cannon told Stephanie should could go home today. She seemed to view the news as bittersweet. Ridge and Eric waited outside her room and discussed (ad nauseum) the fact that Thorne and Brooke could not continue their romance. They rushed into Stephanie's room upon hearing the news of her imminent release. Ridge assured his mother that the entire family would wait on her hand and foot until she recovered. Eric said he had planned a party for her homecoming. Thorne was necking with Brooke in her office. They discussed (also ad nauseum) that Stephanie would recover and accept their relationship. Brooke suggested in the meantime they ignore Eric and Ridge's opinions and listen to their hearts. Thorne received a phone call from the hospital and learned Stephanie was being released.
"Damn you both" was Ridge's said-aloud thought. (Harsh, man.)
Episode Date: Monday, November 8, 1999
At the hospital, Ridge left his mother's room to confront Brooke and Thorne in the waiting area. Ridge pointed out that Stephanie was stuck in a wheelchair thanks to Thorne's selfish actions. Brooke called Ridge unreasonable. Ridge pointed out that Brooke had taken his mother's husband, her company, her health and had nearly taken her life. He was not going to let Brooke hurt Stephanie again. Ridge wanted Thorne to prove that he loved their mother. "All I see is you chasing after Brooke like a horny frat boy" Ridge taunted. The brothers nearly came to blows after that comment but Brooke stopped the brawl. Ridge showed Thorne how depressed and decrepit their mother had become. Thorne put on a pouty, guilty look and turned to Brooke for help.
Then she revved up her motorized wheelchair, burst through the door and ran Brooke over! OK, that last thing didn't really happen, but I think it should have.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 9, 1999
At the guest house, Amber had changed her black-bean-puree-stained
clothes and ordered Chinese food for dinner. CJ told Amber she could
not be Donna Reed 24/7. (For my non-American readers: Donna Reed is
the quintessential house wife of a 1950's television program. She cleaned
the house and cooked dinner while wearing pearls and a perfectly starched
apron. She would be on Prozac today. 24/7 is a phrase that means all
the time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'm not sure how that obnoxious
phrase came into common usage, but every loser uses it now to sound
cool.) CJ counseled Amber by telling her she didn't have to kiss anyone's
butt At the hospital Brooke told Thorne not to listen to Ridge's guilt trip. Ridge and Thorne were arguing when Dr. Cannon arrived. He told them Stephanie needed all their support. Thorne told Brooke it would be better if she left now. Brooke reluctantly agreed. And if I'm not mistaken, she squinted at Ridge as she left. In her hospital room, Stephanie apologized to Eric for falling apart. Eric said there was no need to be sorry. Thorne, Ridge and Dr. Cannon arrived. Stephanie was unhappy with her need for the wheelchair, but said she was so happy to be alive. She was also ecstatic that her family was all together. (Speaking of family - did anyone consider calling Kristen or Felicia about their mother's stroke? With all this talk of the family being together, you'd think they would at least mention the Forrester daughters.) CJ called his mother to tell her that Stephanie was going home, but confined to a wheelchair. Sally repeated her favorite Biblical phrase she had said in Stephanie's room. "Oh how the mighty have fallen on the field of battle." Sally said she'd pray for Queen Stephanie. Stephanie arrived home and was greeted by her family. When Macy showed up Thorne rolled his eyes. She told them she appreciated their support but she didn't want to be pampered. She told Rick to go home and do his school work. She ordered Ridge to go be with his daughters. She instructed Thorne to take Macy out for an intimate dinner. Alone on the balcony overlooking Los Angeles (with a view surprisingly void of smog), Eric pledged his undying devotion to Stephanie. (He droned on and on about how much he loved her and something about waking up with her each morning and mentioned never leaving her. Yada, yada, yada. We've heard it all before. Move on, big guy.)
Episode Date: Wednesday, November 10, 1999
Sure enough, there's that stock footage of the Eiffel Tower, so we
must be headed to Paris! Tawny reminded Becky that Amber had arranged
for the great job in Paris and a wonderful life for Becky's son. Becky
said she wanted respect. Becky told Tawny that she had learned she was
a survivor and that she was strong. She was in charge of her own life
now. If she had to, Tawny called Amber and told her daughter she and Becky had come to
an agreement. Tawny would fill her in on all the details when she got
back home. Amber was relieved,
At Thorne's table, Macy saw a man with a baby and told Thorne how much she wanted to have children. Macy said she was glad they had some time apart to grow. She now knew the wait was worth it. Macy told Thorne his family had been so nice to her. She thought they all accepted her now and did not view her as the enemy. She was not the woman that would ruin Thorne's life. (No, Macy, that role is now being played by Miss Brooke Logan.) Macy told her beloved she wished he had opened up to her more during his mother's medical crisis. She had felt left out. She assured him he could tell her anything. She was there for him. Thorne kept trying to spit out his true feeling but couldn't get a word in edgewise. Macy kept rambling on and on. Macy finally suggested they finish dinner then go home and take a walk on the beach. He could tell her everything at that time. Thorne thanked her for that idea and excused himself. Brooke followed Thorne to some hallway/lounge at the Café Ruse. He was near tears as he told Brooke he didn't want to hurt Macy. He didn't feel he could tell her the truth because she would tell her family and eventually Stephanie would get wind of it. Brooke insisted the only way out of this dilemma was to tell his mother himself - and he had to do it that very night.
Episode Date: Thursday, November 11, 1999 Macy continued to sit at the table at the Café Ruse while Thorne diddled with Brooke by the toilets. Macy was so bored she was forced to reminisce with the maitre d' about Thorne nearly choking a fellow patron with the engagement ring he had hidden in oysters. Back by the ladies' room, Thorne and Brooke called each other "honey" and "baby" (how obnoxious) and discussed poor, pitiful Macy in the dining room waiting for a marriage proposal. Although Thorne was nervous about telling his mother the truth, he wanted a relationship with Brooke right away. He promised to tell Stephanie that very night about his love for Brooke. Brooke wished him well with a hot kiss. Thorne returned to the table and told Macy he had to see his mother right away. Macy told Thorne she understood, but she knew Stephanie was a strong woman and could handle anything. He didn't have to worry about her. (How prophetic, Macy.) Brooke went back to her table and told Megan (and exactly why was Megan there again?) that Thorne was leaving to tell Stephanie that he loved Brooke. They both wondered how Stephanie would react. (That's strange, I thought Brooke was so certain Stephanie could handle it just fine.)
Amber left just before Thorne arrived. Stephanie was surprised he had cut his evening with Macy short. "I have something to tell you" he intoned as the screen faded to black. Gee, we haven't seen that old cliffhanger in a long time. Dollars to donuts the first thing Stephanie will say tomorrow is "You have something to tell me?"
Episode Date: Friday, November 12, 1999 Today was the kind of day that makes me keep watching The Bold and the Beautiful day in and day out! Brooke went home and had a little chat with her sister, Katie. In flashback sequences, Brooke remembered both the night when Stephanie tried to strangle her in the cabin and when Stephanie had her stroke in Thorne's living room. Brooke referred to her ex-mother-in-law as a "battleship." Brooke felt confident it would take more than a little upsetting news to "sink her." Katie was surprised at the compassion Brooke had for Stephanie. At the end of their conversation, Brooke was confused how Stephanie would react.
But at that very moment, Thorne was talking to his mother. Stephanie thought Thorne was upset she had been pressing him to have a big wedding with Macy. Steph promised to back off and let them have whatever kind of wedding they liked. Thorne said that wasn't why he had come. He wanted to talk about the night Stephanie had her stroke. He explained she didn't remember she had collapsed in his house. Stephanie was shocked to learn that, but said she understood they had wanted to keep it quiet so Thorne didn't feel guilty. Thorne corrected her by saying the two of them had been arguing. Stephanie was confused. Thorne then asked his mother if she would support him in whomever he chose to spend his life with. Stephanie said she was too tired to play hypothetical games. Thorne gently explained it wasn't hypothetical. He was happy with someone else. Stephanie looked puzzled and insisted he loved Macy. Thorne corrected her and said he loved Brooke.
Stephanie stammered and stuttered a little bit and Thorne mentioned he knew this would be a disappointment to her. "You think that's all this is to me? A disappointment? But you love Macy" Stephanie cried. Thorne said he had been in denial about his true feelings for Brooke.
Thorne begged his mother to calm down, but it did no good. "Haven't you learned anything from your father and your brother? Don't you see this is a formula for disaster?" Stephanie ranted? "After everything that bitch has done to me through the years you have the gall to stand there and tell me she's going to be your wife? Your wife! You're going to drive me over the edge. I can't take it! I can't take it! It's not going to be Brooke! Not Br .." As Miss Logan's first name caught in Stephanie's throat, she froze in place. Thorne rushed to the telephone as Eric came through the front door.
One question though, wouldn't a rich woman like Stephanie have bet more than $50 that Brooke had seduced her son? Just wondering.
Episode Date: Monday, November 15, 1999
IT WAS ONLY A DREAM! I can't believe I fell for it! I didn't even mention in yesterday's update that Thorne stopped his car on the way from Café Ruse to visit his mother. It was such a throw away scene that I didn't give it a second thought. Thorne pulled to the side of the road and thought aloud that he knew Stephanie could handle the truth. The scene didn't take more than two minutes. I'm afraid I'm losing my touch. I should have seen that coming a mile away. I promise to be more diligent, dear readers. I will try not to be duped like this again. I'm so mad I could just spit. Mr. Smartypants does not appreciate being made to look like a fool. So who really cares what happened today after that huge let down. Anyway, Thorne awoke from his roadside nap and decided he couldn't tell Stephanie the truth. Kimberly went to visit Macy. Macy told her sister she felt Thorne was pulling away from her. She had a nagging feeling that Brooke was on Thorne's mind. Kimberly pointed out that if Brooke was really seeing Thorne, Brooke would certainly be gloating about it. Macy agreed and decided to trust Thorne. Stupid girl. Don't trust anyone, that's what I learned today. Eric arrived at the Forrester mansion with ice cream. He told Stephanie he was certain she would fully recover. They ate the melted dairy treat and Eric suggested the go to bed. Stephanie looked upset, but Eric assured her there was no pressure to have sex. (Thank goodness.) Brooke got all tarted up in a tight, little, black dress and told Katie she was going over to Thorne's house to wait for him. Katie said she was glad Brooke looked so happy. At Thorne's place, Brooke thought aloud (a lot of that going on) about how long she had searched for love and had finally found it. Now no one and nothing could keep them apart. Thorne arrived and told his little honey-pie he couldn't tell his mother the truth. He had imagined what her reaction would be and didn't think she could handle it now. Brooke said she loved Thorne and understood. They popped a bottle of champagne to dull their disappointment.
I'm ashamed of myself and I'm not sure I can continue. How could I have missed what was so painfully obvious today? I'm not sure I can recover this blow to my soap opera sensibility.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 16, 1999
Meanwhile, Becky was in France having a nightmare that Little Eric crying for her. Becky awoke and wandered around her dark apartment talking to herself. Becky wished Amber had kept in touch like she had promised. She also wondered if Kimberly held the answers she was looking for.
"If you send me to Paris I will end Amber's treachery once and for all" Kimberly vowed. (Treachery - now that's a $2 word.) Brooke booked Kimberly a flight to France that night (How much must that have cost?) and left to approve the expenditure in the accounting department. As Kimberly was getting ready to leave, Rick showed up. Kimberly told him she was leaving town for a few days but wouldn't tell him where. When Rick pressed her for answers Kimberly spilled the beans. She admitted she thought Amber was hiding something and she was going to find out what it was. Rick told her to get on with her life. There was no secret and they could never be together. Kimberly told Rick she would never accept that . "You leave it to me and we will have it all" Kimberly promised. I can't wait for Kimberly to get to Paris. This should be good.
Episode Date: Wednesday, November 17, 1999
At Forrester International in Paris (there's that damn Eiffel Tower again) Becky was requested to look after a client's baby during a meeting. During her baby sitting stint Becky was reminded of her own child. After the baby was gone, Becky called Stephanie. Stephanie seemed genuinely happy to hear from Becky. She said she had been expecting Becky to call and inquire about Little Eric. Stephanie remembered how fond Becky was of the baby. Becky asked how he was doing.
Amber was going to approach the couple but hid behind the door when Rick pulled away from the kiss. Rick told Kimberly he could not be a part of her witch hunt. This vendetta would not be good for either of them. He left the office and Amber revealed her self to Kimberly. Amber was greeted with a hearty hello from Kimberly.
Amber said she had witnessed Kimberly kissing her husband. Kimberly made sure Amber knew it wasn't a kiss good-bye. "I'm your worst nightmare" Kimberly told Amber as she said she was determined to find out what she was hiding from Rick. "You are hanging by a thread and it's fraying." Amber couldn't take anymore and pinned Kimberly against the wall while yelling at her to stay away from her family. Kimberly warned Amber to let go because she knew how to defend herself. And you know what, she really does. Two stunt doubles with bad Kimberly and Amber wigs came into the office and staged Kimberly giving a jujitsu kick to Amber's stomach. Stunt Kimberly then threw stunt Amber over her shoulder to the floor. (I seem to recall a similar fight scene on an episode of the Bionic Woman where Jamie had to rescue Callahan from her evil brainwashing hairdresser boyfriend.) Real Kimberly then told real Amber that her days with the Forresters were over. " .. and mine are just beginning" Kimberly warned. Amber was left sulking on the floor.
Episode Date: Thursday, November 18, 1999
Stephanie and Becky continued their phone conversation. Stephanie explained that Little Eric was fine. Stephanie also told Becky she had suffered a stroke. Becky expressed her concern for the Forrester family. Stephanie urged Becky to try and overcome her home sickness and concentrate on her own future. After ending the conversation, Stephanie recalled Becky telling her about the child she had given up for adoption. Stephanie was sure that was why Becky missed Little Eric so much. Meanwhile in Paris, Becky went home and fixed a delicious looking baguette sandwich. She was disappointed there were no photos from Amber and vowed to make sure her son was safe and happy.
Episode Dates: Friday, Nov 19 - Wednesday Nov 24, 1999 To my faithful readers: I was on vacation in Paris this past week. I have summarized the four last episodes into one synopsis to get caught up in time for forthcoming episodes. I tried to locate Becky's apartment but had no luck. I must make a retraction, however. I made fun of Becky pretending to be a reporter from the Paris Tribune in an earlier episode. I figured a newspaper in Paris would not be called the Tribune. I was wrong. There is a Paris Tribune. I am deeply sorry for any problems this may have caused my faithful readers. Mr. Smartypants hates to be wrong. A new day dawned in Los Angeles and Amber brought Rick breakfast in bed. He was asleep and dreaming of making out with Kimberly in the Forrester photography studio. When Amber tried to wake him, he grabbed her kissed her passionately. She told him she wanted him too. Rick opened his eyes and was shocked to find himself kissing Amber.
At the Forrester photo studio, Brooke told Giovanni that Kimberly had gone to Paris to help her with some personal business. Gio told Brooke he did not think Kimberly should get mixed up in the Forrester family problems. He thought Kimberly would get hurt in the end. Brooke explained she had to get Amber away from her family. Giovanni said no good would come of this mission. On the plane to Paris, Kimberly dreamed of kissing Rick. She awoke
and found she was fondling the computer nerd next to her, much to his
delight. She got off the plane and headed right to Becky's apartment.
Strange, she didn't have the suitcase she had when she left her house.
I hope she didn't leave it spinning on the baggage carousel at Charles
DeGaul airport. Kimberly knocked on the door and when Becky answered
Kimberly was very rude and pushed her way into the apartment. (Kimberly's
father was right. She has become ill-mannered.) Kimberly insisted Becky
tell her Amber's secret. Becky feigned ignorance. Kimberly wanted to
know if After getting the warning from Adam, Amber called Becky's apartment. Becky answered the phone and Amber told her the photos were at Becky's E-mail address at work. Becky put Kimberly on the phone and Amber freaked out. Amber told Kimberly there was no secret. "Not anymore" said Kimberly. Becky got back on the line and Amber begged her not to tell Kimberly the truth. After the phone conversation, Kimberly said she could tell Amber was running scared. Becky turned the tables and said she could relate to Amber. They were both from the wrong side of the tracks and had to fight for everything they had. Kimberly said Brooke would be grateful if Becky helped expose Amber. Becky said Brooke had not been grateful to Amber for donating a kidney to Rick. Becky feared Brooke would also dump her once she had learned the information she was looking for. Becky told Kimberly she would not help her break up Amber's marriage. Kimberly then realized Becky had put her on the phone with Amber just to scare her cousin. Becky threw Kimberly out of her apartment. With Miss Fairchild gone, Becky called Amber back and told her she had not exposed the story to Kimberly. The two cousins shared a tender moment (ah) as Becky told Amber she was not the enemy. They agreed to keep the lines of communication open and do only what was best for Little Eric. They didn't realize that Kimberly was eavesdropping on the other side of Becky's door. Kimberly vowed to never stop her endeavor to uncover the truth.
Rick arrived home and Amber told her mother to take Little Eric to Stephanie's because she wanted to talk to Rick. She told her husband that she loved him and wondered why Brooke and Kimberly couldn't leave them alone. Rick insisted that no one would break them apart. Amber suggested they move away where no one would bother them. Rick said he could not leave school, work and his family. He reminded Amber that his father and Stephanie had become very accepting of their relationship. He left to get them take out food. Meanwhile Macy visited Taylor and Ridge's new home and oohed and ahhed over the twins. Macy went on and on about how she was looking forward to marrying Thorne and having children with him. Taylor could barely keep the truth to herself. Both she and Ridge discussed how they felt sorry for Macy. Ridge about lost it when Macy told them about Thorne aborting their dinner at the Café Ruse to visit Stephanie. Macy told Ridge she respected Thorne's concern for his mother. After Macy left, Ridge told Taylor that he was sure Thorne would have married Macy by now if Brooke were not in the picture.
Episode Date: Thursday, November 25, 1999 The Bold and the Beautiful did not air today because of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. It was pre-empted by a figure skating special.
Episode Date: Friday, November 26, 1999 A new episode of The Bold and the Beautiful did not air today because of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. A "classic" episode aired today. It was a 1997 repeat of a documentary of the filming of the epsiodes that were filmed in Lake Cuomo, Italy.
Episode Date: Monday, November 29, 1999
At their new home, Ridge and Taylor wondered what they could do to help end the mess their family was in. Ridge talked with his mother and discovered Thorne had not visited her when he left Macy at the Café Ruse. Taylor told her husband that Thorne had changed. Ridge said all he cared about was Stephanie's health. He left the house to meet his father to further discuss the matter.
Eric and Ridge met in Thorne's office because they knew he would arrive to take inventory. For the umpteenth time, father and son talked about how they could end Thorne's relationship with Brooke. "Dad, we've been over and over this" Ridge said. (I'll say you have. Let's move on. Shall we?)
Brooke stopped by Taylor's house and asked her for support in her relationship with Thorne. Brooke thought Taylor might have an idea of how to get through to Ridge. Taylor said she did know one thing that might work. But instead of telling Brooke her idea, she just stared at her and blinked her eyes. Oh, it was the end of the episode.
Episode Date: Tuesday, November 30, 1999 Sally paid an unexpected visit to Stephanie's house and pushed her way past Helen, the maid. Stephanie told Sally she wasn't accepting any visitors and asked her to leave. Sally informed La Forrester she had not come to visit but to gloat at how the mighty Queen Stephanie was no longer a threat to Spectra Fashions. Stephanie, surprised that even Sally would be so crass, asked for a little compassion. "If you are looking for a nice healthy serving of pity accompanied by great, big, gooey crocodile tears full on commiseration and anguish I suggest you look someplace else because you're never going to find it here" was Sally's reply.
"How dare you treat me like a useless invalid" Stephanie replied. She told Sally she'd be back in no time at all and then Spectra should watch out. Stephanie said Sally had made a big mistake by coming to make fun of her. Sally turned her back to Stephanie and smiled. She didn't realize, however, she was facing a mirror. (How could you not notice that?) Stephanie saw the smile in Sally's reflection and realized La Spectra had come over to encourage her to get well. When Sally figured out she had been discovered she made a hasty retreat. "You're no good, Sally, but thank you" Stephanie offered. "I'll see you on the runway, kitten" Sally replied. (Kitten, did she say kitten?)
At Ridge and Taylor's new house, Taylor told Brooke that the key to her relationship with Thorne was making peace with Stephanie. Brooke was spending too much time trying to gain the support of Ridge and Eric. The problem was her animosity with Stephanie. The only hope she had was to end her war with Thorne's mother. Brooke thanked Taylor for her honesty and her advice.
Now that is the reason I love The Bold and the Beautiful. What could become an extremely intense dramatic situation was juxtaposed with a hilarious scene of Brooke pulling her peace-offering bouquet from the door and examining the worthless green stems but still offering them to Stephanie anyway. Priceless, simply priceless.
