Episode Date: Monday, November 1, 1999

Thorne and Macy sat at Stephanie's bedside as La Forrester told them she was so happy that they were together. Stephanie said she felt lucky to have survived the stroke and to have her family all together. She told her son that she saw things differently than before her collapse. She now saw things they way they really were. (Not hardly, Steph. You're living in a dream world where Macy is going to sing at her own wedding to Thorne. She's gonna be singing The Wedding Bell Blues any day now.)

Meanwhile Brooke told Ridge she would leave his office if he continued to be unreasonable. He again ordered her to stay away from Thorne. Brooke informed him that her relationship with Thorne was none of his concern. Ridge said it certainly did concern him if the situation affected his mother's health. He told Brooke she held Stephanie's future in her hands. Brooke reiterated that she was truly in love with Thorne. This was not a fling. Ridge had wanted her to get over him and be happy. She had done that and now he didn't want to let her be with Thorne. She told Ridge that he held her future in his hands. (I like how she threw that right back in his face.) She begged Ridge not to take Thorne away from her.

Brooke left Ridge's office and ran into Thorne in the hallway. She told Thorne she thought she had finally gotten through to Ridge. Brooke and Thorne embraced as Ridge talked to himself in his office. He told himself he didn't want to hurt Brooke anymore than he already had, but this relationship with his younger brother would never happen.

Giovanni shot a couple of photos of Kimberly in the photography studio. Kimberly told Giovanni that although she had enjoyed the kisses they shared at his apartment, she didn't want anything to jeopardize their professional relationship. Giovanni was hurt by Kimberly's rejection and left the studio. Amber had been listening behind a prop and revealed herself to Kimberly. Amber congratulated Kimberly on landing such a hot hunk of man. Kimberly informed Amber she was not dating Giovanni or anyone at the present time. Amber speculated a pretty sorority girl like Kimberly should have no trouble finding boys to date. Amber then deduced that Kimberly was still hung up on Rick. She made it perfectly clear that she and Rick were happily married. Amber told Kimberly that Kimberly's infatuation with her husband was to end immediately.

Realizing they had a lot in common, Raymond took Becky out to dinner at a very fancy French café. (Actually, it was an extremely cheesey set. We really had to use our imagination.) They ordered "'amburgers." (No wonder the French hate Americans.) Raymond asked about Amber and her baby. Becky said everyone was doing fine. As they continued to discuss the people they knew in common, Raymond let it slip that Rick had been interested in Kimberly while he was involved with Amber. Raymond was glad that Amber had been right when she said Rick would come around once the baby was born. Becky was horrified to learn that if it weren't for Little Eric, Rick and Amber might not even be married. (Ooh, Raymond, you done said the wrong thing, child.)

Episode Date: Tuesday, November 2, 1999

Rick and CJ drank coffee at Insomnia. CJ showed Rick a photo spread of Kimberly in a fashion magazine. CJ commented that Kimberly would have every guy on campus after her when they saw the pictures. He then asked if Kimberly was still hung up on Rick. Rick reminded CJ he was married with a child. As Rick left for Forrester Creations, CJ told his friend he thought he was doing the right thing. "Hang in there, brother" was CJ's sage advice. (Talk about your throw away scenes. Can we please have a story line for CJ? I want to see more of him.)

Over in the Forrester photography studio, Amber and Kimberly continued their argument. Amber accused Kimberly of being obsessed with Rick. When Kimberly denied it, Amber called her delusional. Amber pitied Kimberly for being so desperate. Kimberly refuted Amber's claims and insisted Amber was the obsessed and desperate one. After all, she had tricked Rick into marrying her with a child she wasn't sure was Rick's. Amber fired back that the only reason Kimberly had been hired to model at Forrester was so Brooke could force Rick to hang around Kimberly. Kimberly retorted that the only reason Rick had married Amber was because of Little Eric. That comment pushed Amber over the edge. As Kimberly turned to walk away, Amber grabbed her hair and started a fight! Luckily (or not so luckily, depending if you like a good catfight) Rick arrived and broke the battling girls apart. Against her wishes, Rick sent Amber home.

After Amber left, Rick asked Kimberly what had happened. Kimberly explained the entire situation to Rick. Although Kimberly accepted part of the blame, she told Rick that Amber was ".. the most vicious, vile person I have ever met." Kimberly said Amber was behaving as if she were insecure again. When Rick said he had not been fighting with his wife, Kimberly deduced Amber must have another secret she was afraid would come to light. Kimberly said she would give anything to find out what that secret was.

You may not have to wait too long, honey. Becky and Raymond continued their dinner conversation in Paris. (We know they are in Paris because we get to see come canned footage of the Arc de Triomphe before their first scene each day. Subtle.) Becky was worried by Raymond's comments about Kimberly. Raymond said Amber would not let anyone or anything hurt her marriage. When he learned Kimberly was modeling for Forrester, Raymond was certain Amber would not have allowed that to happen if she thought Kimberly was a threat. Raymond summed it all up by saying nothing would hurt that marriage as long as Amber had that baby. (Wrong thing to say, buddy.)

When Raymond left the table, Becky called Amber on her cell phone. Amber rushed into the guest house hoping it was Rick calling to make up. Becky said she had just called to check on things. She let it slip that a "little bird" had told her about Rick's relationship with Kimberly. Amber started to sweat. Becky put Raymond on the phone when he came back to the table. Now Amber was really sweating. Before she could ask Raymond any questions, Becky took the phone back and hung up. Becky thanked Raymond for a nice evening. They agreed to see each other again while he was in Paris recording his new album. (Whatever, Mary.)

Back in Los Angeles, Amber called her mother and left a message on her answering machine to come visit as soon as possible. When she hung up, Becky called from her Paris chateau. Becky said she wanted photos of Little Eric and to know he was all right. She didn't want her son to be raised in a home where the parents did not love each other. Amber assured Becky that everything was going well for her and Rick and she would try and send pictures as soon as possible. "As long as I've got reason to worry, so do you" were Becky's parting words.

Alone, Becky thumbed through a fashion magazine and saw Kimberly's photo spread. Becky wondered to herself if Kimberly could answer all the questions she had about Rick and Amber's marriage. (Girl, she could tell you all that and give you a bag a Lay's Doritos.)

Episode Date: Wednesday, November 3, 1999

Becky stewed in her Paris pad. (We knew it was Paris today because we saw the Eiffel Tower before Becky's first scene. Do they think we are so stupid that we don't remember that Becky's in Paris these days?) Becky remembered Amber's promise to give Little Eric a perfect home. She believed that Amber meant what she had said but was afraid it wasn't happening. Looking at Kimberly's fashion spread again, Becky decided the only way to be sure of Rick's feelings was to call Kimberly!

At Spectra Fashions, Kimberly told Sally (her new confidant?) of her run-in with Amber. Kimberly couldn't figure out why Rick would stay with such a horrible person. Sally gently explained that Amber was the mother of his son, that is why he wanted to make a home with her. Kimberly thought a home without love would be worse for Rick and Little Eric than living without a wife and mother. Their conversation was interrupted by an overseas phone call for Kimberly. Sally left for the cutting room to give her some privacy.

Now get this. In Paris, Becky recalled CJ telling her that Kimberly's father worked at Spectra. Becky called information and just happened to find Kimberly there. Wouldn't any normal person have called her home to try and find her? Or how about calling Forrester where she works. Yeah, that's the ticket. No, Becky decided to call her father's place of employment to reach her. I guess Becky's glad she did because that's where Kimberly was. Becky must have read the script.

Anyway. Becky pretended to be a reporter from the Paris Tribune. (Tribune? That doesn't sound very French to me. Becky adopted the worst French accent I've heard since my next-door neighbor, Ellen Kay Cassidy, sang Frere Jacques in our third grade talent show - and at least Ellen Kay wore a beret.) Becky said she was doing a 'uman interest article on Kimberly and wanted to know her favorite food and if she was dating anyone. Kimberly denied having a man in her life. Becky then pressed if she wasn't dating one of those 'andsome Forrester men. Kimberly started to get indignant when Becky asked specifically about Rick. Kimberly insisted Rick was married and she was only his friend. Becky said there were rumors about Kimberly and Rick. Kimberly blew up and said she wasn't answering anymore questions. She then figured out Becky was no reporter (brilliant, Sherlock!) and asked if Amber had put her up to these questions. Becky stammered for an answer.

Meanwhile Amber, Rick and Little Eric were at the hospital to visit Stephanie. Becky tired to apologize for her fight with Kimberly but Rick didn't want to talk about it. He said he was committed to Amber and their son - what more did she want from him? They all went into Stephanie's room. Stephanie was thrilled to see her step-grandson. The three talked about love and family. Rick rolled his eyes when Amber said family always same first. Stephanie noticed and asked to speak to Rick alone. Amber went home with the baby.

Alone, Rick told Stephanie that he couldn't figure Amber out. He was frustrated because even though he had repeatedly told Amber he was committed to her and the baby she still acted insecure.

Tawny had received Amber's call for help and arrived at the Forrester mansion. She was lounging by the pool and ordering Helen, the maid, to fix her fruity drinks with little umbrellas and "the good rum" in them. Tawny was pleased that her daughter had such a perfect life and that she had nothing to worry about. Amber arrived and pawned Little Eric off on Helen. Amber told her mother that Becky had called from Paris to let her know she was talking to Raymond. Amber thought it might be a good idea to send Becky some photos of the baby if that would appease her. Tawny insisted Amber not cave into Becky demands. She said Becky should thank Amber for all she had done for her - that ingrate. Tawny raised her chin and said she would take care of Becky. Amber looked slightly unsure.

Kimberly and Becky continued their Trans-Atlantic telephone conversation. Kimberly hit the nail on the head and said she knew Becky wasn't a reporter because she had the phoniest French accent she had ever heard. (Didn't I say that yesterday?) Becky then lost the accent and admitted she wasn't a reporter. She said she understood Kimberly's pain. She knew what it was like to love him and miss him and not be able to be with him. Kimberly assumed Becky was talking about Rick. Becky said she wasn't referring to Rick. Kimberly insisted the caller tell her what she was talking about or she'd hang up. "I could change your life with one sentence, Kimberly. But I made a promise and I can't" Becky stated. True to her word, Kimberly slammed the phone down.

Becky figured that Raymond must have been right. It was evident Kimberly did love Rick. Becky wondered if Rick felt the same. She was mad Amber had lied to her about the stability of her marriage. Becky strained her brain to figure out what to do about it.

Back at Spectra, Sally returned to her office. Kimberly explained the interview was a hoax. The woman had wanted to find out information on Rick and Amber. Sally was puzzled. The entire episode made Kimberly quite sure Amber was keeping another secret.

At the hospital, Rick apologized to Stephanie for laying all his troubles on her. Stephanie assured her step-grandson she would always be there for him. She asked if Amber had anything to feel insecure about. Steph asked Rick if he was attentive to Amber. Rick said it was hard because he was a student and had to work at Forrester. Stephanie said Amber didn't like him working close to Kimberly. Perhaps that made her insecure. La Forrester asked Rick what he wanted. Rick said it didn't matter what he wanted, it only mattered what he needed to do. Stephanie offered advice by saying the trick of life was combining the thing you wanted to do with the thing you needed to do. Stephanie asked how Rick felt about Amber. He replied that she was his wife. Rick feared that Amber wasn't being open with him about everything. Stephanie asked if Rick was being open with Amber in return? (That's something to think about young man.)

In another part of the hospital, Ridge, Taylor, Jack and babies Stephanie and Phoebe said good bye to Dr. What's-his-name and Nurse Whosee-whats-it. Taylor said she had learned a lot about frailty, the value of family and life while in the hospital. She now knew it was important to reach out to someone else. Yada, yada, yada. She says it's time to go home.

But Ridge had a surprise! He had purchased Pierce Peterson's house and wanted to surprise Taylor with it. So he and Jack blindfolded her and took her to the new house and led her through the front door - WHILE SHE WAS CARRYING A BABY! Can you believe it? Blindfolded and carrying a new born! That may be one of the stupidest thing I've ever seen on television. I can' even believe a stage mother would allow her child to be held by a blind-folded actress. What was everyone thinking? It would have been so simple to place the two babies in a stroller to take them to the new house. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

OK, off the soap box. Taylor was thrilled with the new home. Ridge said he made a deal with Pierce. Pierce would stay in New York and Ridge would buy his house. How clever. Ridge and Taylor sucked face in the living room while Jack held the twins.

By the Forester pool Tawny informed Amber it would take drastic measures to keep Becky's mouth shut. Amber said Becky had promised not to tell anyone that Little Eric was actually her son and not Amber's. Tawny said they couldn't believe Becky and she would take care of her. Amber was afraid putting pressure on Becky would backfire. Tawny said they had to do it for Little Eric's sake. Tawny planned to stop Becky and she planned to do it in Paris. "This game is over and I'm stopping it in Paris" Tawny stated. As her mother left for the airport, Amber begged her not to do anything stupid.

Yeah, right. Tawny the toll booth operator/collector is going to Los Angeles International Airport and just hop on a plane to Paris. Hello? How are you going to pay for this little trip? I highly doubt you brought your passport when you drove in from Furnace Creek - that is, if you have one. And what about luggage and clothing? Today's episode was full of nonsense.

Final scene. Fade to Kimberly wondering what life would be like with Rick if she uncovered the truth about Amber. Fade to Amber deciding to focus on Little Eric and Rick and hoping her mother can keep her cool. Fade to Tawny sitting on the plane and vowing to bury Becky's secret.

It was a fantastic episode!

Oh my goodness the time is just flying by! It's another day already. It surely will be Christmas before we know it.

Amber sat by the Forrester pool and talked to Little Eric. She told her son that she was worried about Becky telling Raymond too much information about him. She also worried that Grandma (Tawny) would go to far in her attempt to silence Becky, but Amber also hoped her mother would come through for them. Yawn.

Over in Paris, Becky sat at her desk at work and fondled Brooke's business card. She contemplated calling Brooke to tell her the truth about Rick and Amber's baby. Raymond showed up to "check out some Forrester gear." What on earth is that about? Becky told Raymond that she had called Kimberly to inquire about her relationship with Rick. Raymond wasn't impressed and told Becky that he never meant to tell her any information that might hurt Amber. Becky said she just had to know the truth. "You're trippin'" Raymond told Becky. He deduced there was more going on than Becky was telling him. She said that maybe someday she'd fill him in. Raymond advised Becky not to blow the good gig she had going at Forrester International. Becky said he should worry about Amber, not her.

At that moment, Tawny's plane was landing in Paris. "Look what you've driven me to, Becky girl" Tawny thought out loud. "I'm stopping you dead in your tracks." (Wouldn't the passenger in the next seat be annoyed at her constant chatter?) Tawny found Becky's apartment and started banging on the door. The landlord showed up and Tawny convinced him Becky was her daughter and he let her into the apartment to wait for her. When Becky came home from work, she was surprised to find Aunt Tawny waiting there. Becky tried to leave but Tawny grabbed her arm and said Becky wasn't going anywhere.

Dr. Cannon told Stephanie should could go home today. She seemed to view the news as bittersweet. Ridge and Eric waited outside her room and discussed (ad nauseum) the fact that Thorne and Brooke could not continue their romance. They rushed into Stephanie's room upon hearing the news of her imminent release. Ridge assured his mother that the entire family would wait on her hand and foot until she recovered. Eric said he had planned a party for her homecoming.

Thorne was necking with Brooke in her office. They discussed (also ad nauseum) that Stephanie would recover and accept their relationship. Brooke suggested in the meantime they ignore Eric and Ridge's opinions and listen to their hearts. Thorne received a phone call from the hospital and learned Stephanie was being released.

Nurse Bernadette arrived with a wheelchair for Stephanie. Ridge and Eric left to sign the discharge papers as the nurse helped Stephanie sit up. Stephanie eyed the wheelchair with despair. As her useless left arm fell to her side she started to cry. Bernadette ran to get the doctor. Eric, hearing his new wife's wail, vaulted to her side to comfort her. Stephanie told Eric it was a mistake to marry him. She had so far to go in her recovery. Eric assured her he would be there to help her every step of the way. Stephanie cried that she did not want his pity. Eric stated Stephanie was a strong woman. He was sure she would walk again and he would help her.

Ridge had returned to the hospital room and noticed Thorne and Brooke had arrived and were looking in the window from the waiting room.

"Damn you both" was Ridge's said-aloud thought. (Harsh, man.)

CJ dropped by Stephanie's guest house as Amber, dressed in a pink sweater set and pearls, was cooking dinner. She had planned a Mexican fiesta. She was trying to make black bean soup and placed the beans in a blender but forgot to put the top on it. The mixture exploded all over Amber and CJ. As the two of them tried to clean up the mess, CJ smelled something burning. Amber had forgotten the enchiladas in the oven and they came out looking like a charcoal briquette. Amber cried that she had ruined dinner. CJ was puzzled why Amber wanted to be a chef anyway. Amber explained that she was trying to change to be a proper Forrester wife. CJ said that the reason Rick had fallen in love with Amber was because she was different and unpredictable. Amber lamented that he seemed to like Kimberly and she wasn't different. CJ convinced Amber that Rick would only love Amber if she were herself. She shouldn't pretend to be someone she wasn't. CJ said Amber's best qualities were "kooky, wild and sexy." CJ said he missed the old Amber and wanted her back.

Over in gay Parree, Tawny told Becky that she envied her. Becky had a fabulous new life in France. All Becky was interested in was if Tawny had brought photos of Little Eric with her. Becky explained that Amber and Tawny could not get rid of her so easily. Amber had gone back on her word of keeping in touch. Becky was considering going back on her word to keep quiet. Tawny asked if that was a threat. Tawny asked why Becky wanted that photos anyway. "Do you plan to build an Eric Forrester III shrine?" Becky responded that maybe she would and that she was not afraid of mother and daughter Moore. Tawny rebutted that Becky could not hurt Amber without hurting her own son. Becky wanted to know the truth about Rick and Amber's marriage. Tawny asked if Becky had ever seen them argue or if Rick had ever mentioned another woman. Becky had to admit that the marriage seemed solid. Tawny then put her foot down and said there would be no photo exchange. Becky got really red, grabbed her suitcase and started to pack for Los Angeles. Tawny panicked.

I'd really like to see an Eric Forrester III shrine. Remember when Sheila moved to Furnace Creek to be a waitress and lived with Amber? Sheila built a shrine to her daughter, Mary/Margaret, that James and Maggie had adopted. Sheila was even pumping her breast milk and freezing it. That was so gross. I'd love to see something like that again.

At the hospital, Ridge left his mother's room to confront Brooke and Thorne in the waiting area. Ridge pointed out that Stephanie was stuck in a wheelchair thanks to Thorne's selfish actions. Brooke called Ridge unreasonable. Ridge pointed out that Brooke had taken his mother's husband, her company, her health and had nearly taken her life. He was not going to let Brooke hurt Stephanie again. Ridge wanted Thorne to prove that he loved their mother. "All I see is you chasing after Brooke like a horny frat boy" Ridge taunted. The brothers nearly came to blows after that comment but Brooke stopped the brawl. Ridge showed Thorne how depressed and decrepit their mother had become. Thorne put on a pouty, guilty look and turned to Brooke for help.

In her hospital room, Stephanie was upset and scared of the wheelchair. Eric told the doctor that he had installed ramps and grab bars in Stephanie's house and turned the first floor study into a bedroom so she could get around the house. After the doctor left Stephanie told Eric that she didn't want to live like this. Eric would hear none of her negative comments. He told his wife that she was strong and the rock of the family. They needed her. She cried that now she needed them. Eric told her to face this challenge like she had faced all the hard tasks in her life. She repeated that she did not want to be a burden. Eric responded that she was the love of his life, not a burden. Eric and an orderly helped Steph into her wheelchair. She shed a couple of tears and told him she loved him.

Then she revved up her motorized wheelchair, burst through the door and ran Brooke over! OK, that last thing didn't really happen, but I think it should have.

Episode Date: Tuesday, November 9, 1999

In Paris (and we know that because of that beautiful Eiffel Tower shot) Becky told Tawny to call Amber to get Little Eric ready because his momma was coming home. Tawny panicked and told Becky she did not belong in her son's life. Becky responded that Amber had lied about keeping in touch about Little Eric and she feared Amber had also lied about the stability of her marriage to Rick. Tawny explained that it was hard to be a single mother. She had raised Amber all by herself. Tawny knew it was not the type of environment Becky wanted for her child. Tawny said to take Little Eric away from Amber would be selfish and spiteful. She continued that Becky should be grateful for all the things Amber had done for her. Becky didn't buy any of Tawny's bull. She explained to her aunt that she was in control now.

At Spectra Fashions, Macy called the hospital and learned Stephanie was being released. She was perplexed that Thorne had not called to tell her the good news and shared that information with Sally. Macy told her mother that she was feeling left out. Sally advised Macy not to be too hard on Thorne. He was going through a difficult time right now. She encouraged her daughter to go to Stephanie's house to welcome her home.

At the guest house, Amber had changed her black-bean-puree-stained clothes and ordered Chinese food for dinner. CJ told Amber she could not be Donna Reed 24/7. (For my non-American readers: Donna Reed is the quintessential house wife of a 1950's television program. She cleaned the house and cooked dinner while wearing pearls and a perfectly starched apron. She would be on Prozac today. 24/7 is a phrase that means all the time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'm not sure how that obnoxious phrase came into common usage, but every loser uses it now to sound cool.) CJ counseled Amber by telling her she didn't have to kiss anyone's butt because she was a Forrester now and nothing could change that. Amber corrected him by saying there was one thing that could change that. CJ assumed she was referring to Brooke's attempts to break up Rick and Amber. CJ said that Rick wouldn't let that happen and now that Becky wasn't bothering them, everything should be fine. They started to discuss Becky when Rick arrived home with the good news that Stephanie would be coming home soon. Amber and Rick left to greet her while CJ stayed to baby-sit and change Little Eric's diapers. CJ commented how excited he was to have been covered with bean dip and change diapers in the same day.

At the hospital Brooke told Thorne not to listen to Ridge's guilt trip. Ridge and Thorne were arguing when Dr. Cannon arrived. He told them Stephanie needed all their support. Thorne told Brooke it would be better if she left now. Brooke reluctantly agreed. And if I'm not mistaken, she squinted at Ridge as she left.

In her hospital room, Stephanie apologized to Eric for falling apart. Eric said there was no need to be sorry. Thorne, Ridge and Dr. Cannon arrived. Stephanie was unhappy with her need for the wheelchair, but said she was so happy to be alive. She was also ecstatic that her family was all together. (Speaking of family - did anyone consider calling Kristen or Felicia about their mother's stroke? With all this talk of the family being together, you'd think they would at least mention the Forrester daughters.)

CJ called his mother to tell her that Stephanie was going home, but confined to a wheelchair. Sally repeated her favorite Biblical phrase she had said in Stephanie's room. "Oh how the mighty have fallen on the field of battle." Sally said she'd pray for Queen Stephanie.

Stephanie arrived home and was greeted by her family. When Macy showed up Thorne rolled his eyes. She told them she appreciated their support but she didn't want to be pampered. She told Rick to go home and do his school work. She ordered Ridge to go be with his daughters. She instructed Thorne to take Macy out for an intimate dinner. Alone on the balcony overlooking Los Angeles (with a view surprisingly void of smog), Eric pledged his undying devotion to Stephanie. (He droned on and on about how much he loved her and something about waking up with her each morning and mentioned never leaving her. Yada, yada, yada. We've heard it all before. Move on, big guy.)

Episode Date: Wednesday, November 10, 1999

Rick and Amber ate the Chinese food she had ordered and fed Little Eric his dinner of mashed squash. (Hmmm, Mom, my favorite!) Rick told Amber she was a great mother. They put the baby to bed and Amber said she wanted to check on Stephanie. Rick was impressed with how "tight" Amber was with Steph. Amber said Stephanie was like the mother she never had. Her mother loved her, but she often made matters worse. Rick went into the bedroom to study as Amber hoped her mother was working things out with Becky.

Sure enough, there's that stock footage of the Eiffel Tower, so we must be headed to Paris! Tawny reminded Becky that Amber had arranged for the great job in Paris and a wonderful life for Becky's son. Becky said she wanted respect. Becky told Tawny that she had learned she was a survivor and that she was strong. She was in charge of her own life now. If she had to, she could do anything. (She is strong. She is invincible. She is woman. Oops. I'm sorry. I thought Becky was channeling Helen Reddy there for a couple of minutes.) As Becky continued to pack for home, Tawny said she'd be a fool to give up the great job in Paris. Becky stopped in tracks and said she didn't' have to. She pulled Brooke's business card out of her purse and threatened to call Brooke with the entire story of Little Eric's paternity if Tawny didn't do as Becky wished. Becky wanted proof that her son was happy and that Amber's marriage was solid. Tawny had to agree.

Tawny called Amber and told her daughter she and Becky had come to an agreement. Tawny would fill her in on all the details when she got back home. Amber was relieved,
but Becky continued her threats. "Don't keep me waiting, Aunt Tawny, or I'll become your worst nightmare."

At the Café Ruse, Brooke dined with Megan. (WHAT?! Why on earth would Brooke take the general Forrester secretary to a fancy French restaurant for dinner? Was it Secretary's Day or something? How ludicrous!) They discussed when Thorne would break the news of his love for Brooke to Macy when they spied the two of them across the room. Brooke and Megan were shocked.

At Thorne's table, Macy saw a man with a baby and told Thorne how much she wanted to have children. Macy said she was glad they had some time apart to grow. She now knew the wait was worth it. Macy told Thorne his family had been so nice to her. She thought they all accepted her now and did not view her as the enemy. She was not the woman that would ruin Thorne's life. (No, Macy, that role is now being played by Miss Brooke Logan.) Macy told her beloved she wished he had opened up to her more during his mother's medical crisis. She had felt left out. She assured him he could tell her anything. She was there for him. Thorne kept trying to spit out his true feeling but couldn't get a word in edgewise. Macy kept rambling on and on. Macy finally suggested they finish dinner then go home and take a walk on the beach. He could tell her everything at that time. Thorne thanked her for that idea and excused himself.

Brooke followed Thorne to some hallway/lounge at the Café Ruse. He was near tears as he told Brooke he didn't want to hurt Macy. He didn't feel he could tell her the truth because she would tell her family and eventually Stephanie would get wind of it. Brooke insisted the only way out of this dilemma was to tell his mother himself - and he had to do it that very night.

Episode Date: Thursday, November 11, 1999

Macy continued to sit at the table at the Café Ruse while Thorne diddled with Brooke by the toilets. Macy was so bored she was forced to reminisce with the maitre d' about Thorne nearly choking a fellow patron with the engagement ring he had hidden in oysters.

Back by the ladies' room, Thorne and Brooke called each other "honey" and "baby" (how obnoxious) and discussed poor, pitiful Macy in the dining room waiting for a marriage proposal. Although Thorne was nervous about telling his mother the truth, he wanted a relationship with Brooke right away. He promised to tell Stephanie that very night about his love for Brooke. Brooke wished him well with a hot kiss.

Thorne returned to the table and told Macy he had to see his mother right away. Macy told Thorne she understood, but she knew Stephanie was a strong woman and could handle anything. He didn't have to worry about her. (How prophetic, Macy.)

Brooke went back to her table and told Megan (and exactly why was Megan there again?) that Thorne was leaving to tell Stephanie that he loved Brooke. They both wondered how Stephanie would react. (That's strange, I thought Brooke was so certain Stephanie could handle it just fine.)

Meanwhile in their palatial new home, Taylor and Ridge discussed his mother. Ridge insisted everyone protect Stephanie from the news that Thorne and Brooke were an item. Ridge said he had to put a stop to that relationship. Taylor understood her husband's need to shelter his mother, but told him that Brooke an Thorne were adults and could decide for themselves if they wanted to be together. Ridge was forced to agree but said when his mother's life was a stake, he felt he needed to step in. Taylor questioned Ridge's motives for wanting the relationship to end. She noted Ridge had always been protective of Brooke. Ridge insisted his only concern was Stephanie's health.

At the same time, Stephanie sat in her wheelchair writing thank-you notes when Amber arrived for a chat. Stephanie said she was practicing her hand writing so she could hand address all of Macy and Thorne's wedding invitations herself. (Like I'm so sure Stephanie Forrester would hand address envelopes to what she envisions to be the "biggest Forrester wedding ever." Wouldn't that be done at a printers? She's rich. Remember?) Stephanie said she was insecure about her new marriage to Eric, but would only think positive thoughts - like how wonderful Thorne and Macy's wedding would be. Amber lamented that her wedding had been marred by the tension between her and Brooke. Stephanie urged Amber to try and get along with Brooke for Rick's sake. Stephanie then changed the subject. She told Amber she didn't want to talk about Brooke because it would upset her and she didn't want to get "sick" again.

Amber left just before Thorne arrived. Stephanie was surprised he had cut his evening with Macy short.

"I have something to tell you" he intoned as the screen faded to black. Gee, we haven't seen that old cliffhanger in a long time. Dollars to donuts the first thing Stephanie will say tomorrow is "You have something to tell me?"

Episode Date: Friday, November 12, 1999

Today was the kind of day that makes me keep watching The Bold and the Beautiful day in and day out!

Brooke went home and had a little chat with her sister, Katie. In flashback sequences, Brooke remembered both the night when Stephanie tried to strangle her in the cabin and when Stephanie had her stroke in Thorne's living room. Brooke referred to her ex-mother-in-law as a "battleship." Brooke felt confident it would take more than a little upsetting news to "sink her." Katie was surprised at the compassion Brooke had for Stephanie. At the end of their conversation, Brooke was confused how Stephanie would react.

At the guest house, Eric stopped by to see his grandson. Eric told Rick and Amber that he was counting on them to help support Stephanie. He explained he was proud of how Rick had lived up to his decision to stick by Amber and the baby. Eric was especially proud of how Amber had "come clean" about her mistakes before she had married Rick. He was glad there were no more secrets in the family. (Amber squirmed like a worm on a hook during that speech.) Rick assured his father they would do everything they could to help Stephanie fully recover. Eric hoped the entire family would do the same.

But at that very moment, Thorne was talking to his mother. Stephanie thought Thorne was upset she had been pressing him to have a big wedding with Macy. Steph promised to back off and let them have whatever kind of wedding they liked. Thorne said that wasn't why he had come. He wanted to talk about the night Stephanie had her stroke. He explained she didn't remember she had collapsed in his house. Stephanie was shocked to learn that, but said she understood they had wanted to keep it quiet so Thorne didn't feel guilty. Thorne corrected her by saying the two of them had been arguing. Stephanie was confused.

Thorne then asked his mother if she would support him in whomever he chose to spend his life with. Stephanie said she was too tired to play hypothetical games. Thorne gently explained it wasn't hypothetical. He was happy with someone else. Stephanie looked puzzled and insisted he loved Macy. Thorne corrected her and said he loved Brooke.

Omigawd!

Stephanie stammered and stuttered a little bit and Thorne mentioned he knew this would be a disappointment to her.

"You think that's all this is to me? A disappointment? But you love Macy" Stephanie cried.

Thorne said he had been in denial about his true feelings for Brooke.

Stephanie wheeled around the living room in her motorized wheelchair and went off. "She seduced you, didn't she? I'll bet $50 that bitch, after you came back from being with Macy, was waiting in your house. I've seen her pull tricks like this before."

Thorne begged his mother to calm down, but it did no good. "Haven't you learned anything from your father and your brother? Don't you see this is a formula for disaster?" Stephanie ranted? "After everything that bitch has done to me through the years you have the gall to stand there and tell me she's going to be your wife? Your wife! You're going to drive me over the edge. I can't take it! I can't take it! It's not going to be Brooke! Not Br…….." As Miss Logan's first name caught in Stephanie's throat, she froze in place. Thorne rushed to the telephone as Eric came through the front door.

For some inexplicable reason, Stephanie then stood up from her wheelchair and fell through a glass coffee table. (I loved it!) Eric and Thorne rushed to her side. Eric felt for a pulse and screamed "She's dead!" (It just couldn't have been any better.)

One question though, wouldn't a rich woman like Stephanie have bet more than $50 that Brooke had seduced her son? Just wondering.

Eric screamed at Thorne and asked what he had done to Stephanie. Thorne scrambled for the phone and called 911. Eric performed CPR on the unconscious Stephanie. The paramedics arrived and tried valiantly to revive her, but told Eric and Thorne that Stephanie "was gone." Eric broke down at the fireplace. Thorne cradled Steph's limp body in his arms and cried that he had killed her.

IT WAS ONLY A DREAM! I can't believe I fell for it! I didn't even mention in yesterday's update that Thorne stopped his car on the way from Café Ruse to visit his mother. It was such a throw away scene that I didn't give it a second thought. Thorne pulled to the side of the road and thought aloud that he knew Stephanie could handle the truth. The scene didn't take more than two minutes. I'm afraid I'm losing my touch. I should have seen that coming a mile away. I promise to be more diligent, dear readers. I will try not to be duped like this again.

I'm so mad I could just spit. Mr. Smartypants does not appreciate being made to look like a fool.

So who really cares what happened today after that huge let down.

Anyway, Thorne awoke from his roadside nap and decided he couldn't tell Stephanie the truth.

Kimberly went to visit Macy. Macy told her sister she felt Thorne was pulling away from her. She had a nagging feeling that Brooke was on Thorne's mind. Kimberly pointed out that if Brooke was really seeing Thorne, Brooke would certainly be gloating about it. Macy agreed and decided to trust Thorne. Stupid girl. Don't trust anyone, that's what I learned today.

Eric arrived at the Forrester mansion with ice cream. He told Stephanie he was certain she would fully recover. They ate the melted dairy treat and Eric suggested the go to bed. Stephanie looked upset, but Eric assured her there was no pressure to have sex. (Thank goodness.)

Brooke got all tarted up in a tight, little, black dress and told Katie she was going over to Thorne's house to wait for him. Katie said she was glad Brooke looked so happy. At Thorne's place, Brooke thought aloud (a lot of that going on) about how long she had searched for love and had finally found it. Now no one and nothing could keep them apart. Thorne arrived and told his little honey-pie he couldn't tell his mother the truth. He had imagined what her reaction would be and didn't think she could handle it now. Brooke said she loved Thorne and understood. They popped a bottle of champagne to dull their disappointment.

Eric called Thorne's house and Brooke answered the phone. Eric yelled at Brooke to go home. Thorne took the cordless and screamed at his father to stay the hell out of their lives. Thorne tossed the phone on a nearby ottoman. He and Brooke kissed noisily while Eric continued to yell into the phone for Brooke to go away and leave his family alone. (How childish.)

I'm ashamed of myself and I'm not sure I can continue. How could I have missed what was so painfully obvious today? I'm not sure I can recover this blow to my soap opera sensibility.

Episode Date: Tuesday, November 16, 1999

CJ and Rick shared some coffee at Insomnia. CJ told his buddy that Rick had changed. Rick said he and Amber were just tired. They had a lot of responsibilities. Rick said Amber was so devoted - family meant everything to her. Rick told CJ that he was sure life would get easier for them soon. CJ doubted Rick's actions, although good for Amber and Little Eric, were good for Rick. CJ told Rick if he wanted Amber to be honest with him, he needed to be honest with her in return - and honest with himself as well. (CJ also kept calling him "brother." I suppose that's meant to be hip, but I just find it annoying.)

Over at Stephanie's guest house, Tawny arrived from Paris with a suitcase. (That's funny. I don't remember her carrying a suitcase when she left or when she arrived at Becky's Paris apartment.) Tawny told her daughter that Becky had changed. She was now selfish and vindictive. Amber didn't want to hear any bad news. She said she would stop Becky herself if her mother couldn't do it. Tawny said they had to meet Becky's demands or Becky would call Brooke. Amber knew her mother would make matters worse. She said she couldn't live her life waiting for Becky to follow through with her threats. Tawny suggested Amber could protect her marriage to Rick by having another baby. Amber vetoed that idea immediately. She said neither she nor Rick were ready to have another child. Tawny promised she would find a solution to this problem and when she did Becky wouldn't cause any more trouble.

Meanwhile, Becky was in France having a nightmare that Little Eric crying for her. Becky awoke and wandered around her dark apartment talking to herself. Becky wished Amber had kept in touch like she had promised. She also wondered if Kimberly held the answers she was looking for.

Speak of the devil. Kimberly went into Brooke's office at Forrester to tell her about the strange phone conversation she had with the fake French reporter. When Kimberly revealed the caller said she was from Paris, Brooke wondered if it could have been Becky. Kimberly thought perhaps Becky's obsession with Little Eric prompted her to call Kimberly - but why call her? Brooke suspected it was because Kimberly would tell the truth about Amber's marriage. They deduced that Amber was worried about Becky, not Kimberly. Kimberly told Brooke she was certain Amber had a secret and she was willing to go to Paris to talk to Becky and discover what was going on.

"If you send me to Paris I will end Amber's treachery once and for all" Kimberly vowed. (Treachery - now that's a $2 word.)

Brooke booked Kimberly a flight to France that night (How much must that have cost?) and left to approve the expenditure in the accounting department. As Kimberly was getting ready to leave, Rick showed up. Kimberly told him she was leaving town for a few days but wouldn't tell him where. When Rick pressed her for answers Kimberly spilled the beans. She admitted she thought Amber was hiding something and she was going to find out what it was. Rick told her to get on with her life. There was no secret and they could never be together. Kimberly told Rick she would never accept that . "You leave it to me and we will have it all" Kimberly promised.

I can't wait for Kimberly to get to Paris. This should be good.

Episode Date: Wednesday, November 17, 1999

Amber and Tawny searched Stephanie's house for Rick. They wanted to take some family photos to send to Becky as soon as possible. Amber left to continue looking but Tawny stayed behind to chat with Stephanie. Tawny asked if she could stay with Stephanie and help out around the house. When Stephanie balked and said "No thank you" Tawny tried a different tactic. She told Stephanie that Amber had asked her to stay in Los Angeles and help her with Little Eric. Tawny continued that her daughter and Rick needed time together since they were newlyweds. Stephanie agreed that Rick and Amber did need time alone, but without actually receiving approval Tawny left to move into the guest room.

At Forrester International in Paris (there's that damn Eiffel Tower again) Becky was requested to look after a client's baby during a meeting. During her baby sitting stint Becky was reminded of her own child. After the baby was gone, Becky called Stephanie. Stephanie seemed genuinely happy to hear from Becky. She said she had been expecting Becky to call and inquire about Little Eric. Stephanie remembered how fond Becky was of the baby. Becky asked how he was doing.

But all the real action took place in Brooke's office. Continuing their conversation, Rick told Kimberly to stop looking for Amber's secret. Kimberly told Rick that he deserved to be happy. Rick acknowledged that fact, but said his son also deserved happiness. Kimberly said no one could be happy in that marriage. Rick said he married Amber for better or worse and even if there was a secret it was not Kimberly's responsibility to uncover it. Kimberly was undaunted and told Rick that no matter what it took she would discover the truth. Rick would then be free to choose whatever life he wanted. Kimberly was so excited she grabbed Rick and planted a big, wet smooch on his lips. Too bad she didn't notice Amber walk through the door at the very moment! (You can only imagine the look on her face.)

Amber was going to approach the couple but hid behind the door when Rick pulled away from the kiss. Rick told Kimberly he could not be a part of her witch hunt. This vendetta would not be good for either of them. He left the office and Amber revealed her self to Kimberly. Amber was greeted with a hearty hello from Kimberly.

"Don't you dare hello me you dainty, little, two-faced, lying 'ho" Amber screamed. She continued by calling Kimberly a "bad-mouthing, smutty, little bitch." Amber said Kimberly had pushed Rick to far and he had rejected her. "Your days of playing little Miss Priss Priss are over." (I don't know which is worse, being a lying 'ho or a Priss Priss.)

Amber said she had witnessed Kimberly kissing her husband. Kimberly made sure Amber knew it wasn't a kiss good-bye. "I'm your worst nightmare" Kimberly told Amber as she said she was determined to find out what she was hiding from Rick. "You are hanging by a thread and it's fraying."

Amber couldn't take anymore and pinned Kimberly against the wall while yelling at her to stay away from her family. Kimberly warned Amber to let go because she knew how to defend herself. And you know what, she really does.

Two stunt doubles with bad Kimberly and Amber wigs came into the office and staged Kimberly giving a jujitsu kick to Amber's stomach. Stunt Kimberly then threw stunt Amber over her shoulder to the floor. (I seem to recall a similar fight scene on an episode of the Bionic Woman where Jamie had to rescue Callahan from her evil brainwashing hairdresser boyfriend.) Real Kimberly then told real Amber that her days with the Forresters were over. "….. and mine are just beginning" Kimberly warned. Amber was left sulking on the floor.

Kimberly had packed her suitcase and was ready to leave for Paris. She spoke on the phone with Brooke and told her she would land in Paris and head directly for Becky's apartment and confront her. After hanging up the telephone, Kimberly worried how she would explain the trip to her father. Ponder no longer, sweetie, Adam came into the room. He noticed the baggage and Kimberly was forced to tell him she was going to Paris. She lied and said it was for a modeling assignment. Adam told her she was not going. She had become obstinate and ill-mannered since the move to Los Angeles. As long as he supported her, she must abide by his rules. After he left the room, Kimberly decided to leave anyway. (I guess that was a wasted scene, then, wasn't it?) Kimberly boarded the plane and found her seat next to a "geek" working on his lap top computer while wearing thick, black-framed glasses with tape on them. (Ouch, what a negative stereotype.) The aisle-mate asked if they had met. Kimberly told her smitten admirer she did not think so.

Stephanie and Becky continued their phone conversation. Stephanie explained that Little Eric was fine. Stephanie also told Becky she had suffered a stroke. Becky expressed her concern for the Forrester family. Stephanie urged Becky to try and overcome her home sickness and concentrate on her own future. After ending the conversation, Stephanie recalled Becky telling her about the child she had given up for adoption. Stephanie was sure that was why Becky missed Little Eric so much. Meanwhile in Paris, Becky went home and fixed a delicious looking baguette sandwich. She was disappointed there were no photos from Amber and vowed to make sure her son was safe and happy.

At the guest house, Amber told her mother about her fight with Kimberly. Tawny told her daughter to forget about Kimberly, Becky was the real threat to her marriage. Rick arrived home and was greeted with the news that Tawny would be staying for a few days to help out with the baby. Rick didn't like the idea, but was to tired to discuss it. He suggested they talk in the morning. Tawny was hot to take some photos. (She has a new camera, by the way. That cute green instamatic is gone. Tawny has a fancy black point and shoot jobber now.) Rick said he'd pose for photos in the morning and headed to bed. Becky called and told Amber she wanted the photos and she wanted them now! Amber freaked and Tawny told her to chill. They would have the pictures tomorrow.

Episode Dates: Friday, Nov 19 - Wednesday Nov 24, 1999

To my faithful readers: I was on vacation in Paris this past week. I have summarized the four last episodes into one synopsis to get caught up in time for forthcoming episodes. I tried to locate Becky's apartment but had no luck. I must make a retraction, however. I made fun of Becky pretending to be a reporter from the Paris Tribune in an earlier episode. I figured a newspaper in Paris would not be called the Tribune. I was wrong. There is a Paris Tribune. I am deeply sorry for any problems this may have caused my faithful readers. Mr. Smartypants hates to be wrong.

A new day dawned in Los Angeles and Amber brought Rick breakfast in bed. He was asleep and dreaming of making out with Kimberly in the Forrester photography studio. When Amber tried to wake him, he grabbed her kissed her passionately. She told him she wanted him too. Rick opened his eyes and was shocked to find himself kissing Amber.

Tawny had purchased a new digital camera since last night and was ready for a family photo session. Rick declined but Tawny forced him to pose with Amber and the baby. Tawny took enough photos to satisfy Becky and told Rick he can leave. Rick took Little Eric for a visit to his mother. Tawny and Amber, trailer trash computer wizs, downloaded the photos on a lap top computer and E-mailed them to Becky's computer at Forrester International. Tawny said now they had satisfied Becky's demands it was time to put phase two of her plan to solidify Amber's marriage into action. She told Amber she must get pregnant. Amber was horrified at her mother's suggestion and said she would not get pregnant. She and Rick had discussed not having any more children until he graduated from college. As they argued about the issue, Amber let it slip that she couldn't get pregnant anyway because she and Rick never had sex. Tawny was mortified to hear this news and kept prying for a reason. Amber didn't want to discuss her sex life with her mother. Amber explained that Rick was very busy, had a lot of responsibilities and was always tired.

"Amber, since the dawn of time there has never bee any such thing as a teenage boy too tired for sex" Tawny philosophized. That Tawny, always full of helpful, sage advice. But wait, there's more. Tawny told her daughter she had experience in this area and suggested Amber try "lingerie, curling her hair or brushing her teeth before going to bed." I fell off the couch at that line. Amber was insulted that Tawny suggested Rick didn't love her. Tawny comforted her daughter and told her everything would be fine.

Over at Spectra Fashions, CJ arrived and told Clarke and Adam that he was supposed to be studying with Kimberly but couldn't find her anywhere. Adam was miffed to think Kimberly had perhaps gone to Paris without his permission. CJ said he should get a job at Forrester so he could go to Paris too. Then he could visit Amber's cousin, Becky. Adam was intrigued to learn Amber had a cousin in Paris and put two and two together. (That Adam really has a head for math.) Adam called Amber and introduced himself as Kimberly's father. He told Amber that he believed they had a common goal - to make sure Amber's marriage survived. He let Amber know that Brooke had sent his daughter to Paris and hung up the phone. Amber, no dummy herself, figured out that Kimberly must have gone to speak to Becky.

At the Forrester photo studio, Brooke told Giovanni that Kimberly had gone to Paris to help her with some personal business. Gio told Brooke he did not think Kimberly should get mixed up in the Forrester family problems. He thought Kimberly would get hurt in the end. Brooke explained she had to get Amber away from her family. Giovanni said no good would come of this mission.

On the plane to Paris, Kimberly dreamed of kissing Rick. She awoke and found she was fondling the computer nerd next to her, much to his delight. She got off the plane and headed right to Becky's apartment. Strange, she didn't have the suitcase she had when she left her house. I hope she didn't leave it spinning on the baggage carousel at Charles DeGaul airport. Kimberly knocked on the door and when Becky answered Kimberly was very rude and pushed her way into the apartment. (Kimberly's father was right. She has become ill-mannered.) Kimberly insisted Becky tell her Amber's secret. Becky feigned ignorance. Kimberly wanted to know if Amber made Becky call her and pretend to be the French reporter. Becky slipped and said Amber had nothing to do with it, thus admitting she had indeed been the caller. Kimberly told Becky that Amber was a liar and whatever she had promised Becky in return to keep her secret was yet another lie. Kimberly explained that Rick didn't love Amber and that Little Eric would grow up in a home without love. Becky responded that Kimberly didn't care about anyone but herself. She only wanted to destroy Amber's marriage so she could have Rick to herself.

After getting the warning from Adam, Amber called Becky's apartment. Becky answered the phone and Amber told her the photos were at Becky's E-mail address at work. Becky put Kimberly on the phone and Amber freaked out. Amber told Kimberly there was no secret. "Not anymore" said Kimberly. Becky got back on the line and Amber begged her not to tell Kimberly the truth.

After the phone conversation, Kimberly said she could tell Amber was running scared. Becky turned the tables and said she could relate to Amber. They were both from the wrong side of the tracks and had to fight for everything they had. Kimberly said Brooke would be grateful if Becky helped expose Amber. Becky said Brooke had not been grateful to Amber for donating a kidney to Rick. Becky feared Brooke would also dump her once she had learned the information she was looking for. Becky told Kimberly she would not help her break up Amber's marriage. Kimberly then realized Becky had put her on the phone with Amber just to scare her cousin. Becky threw Kimberly out of her apartment. With Miss Fairchild gone, Becky called Amber back and told her she had not exposed the story to Kimberly. The two cousins shared a tender moment (ah) as Becky told Amber she was not the enemy. They agreed to keep the lines of communication open and do only what was best for Little Eric. They didn't realize that Kimberly was eavesdropping on the other side of Becky's door. Kimberly vowed to never stop her endeavor to uncover the truth.

At Brooke's house, Brooke told Rick she was concerned about him. Rick told his mother everything would be all right. He had been the one that insisted on having sex with Amber and got her pregnant. He was the one that wanted to get married. It was not Amber's fault. Brooke said she knew he didn't love Amber the way he loved Kimberly. Rick said it didn't matter how he felt. He was going to give his son the kind of childhood he had not had. Rick wanted his mother's support, but if she couldn't give it to him he would not be a part of her life. Rick insisted he would remain married to Amber no matter what Brooke or Kimberly might discover about her. Brooke said she could not sit by and watch Rick destroy his life. Rick left in a mad frenzy. Brooke cursed Amber for tearing her family apart.

Rick arrived home and Amber told her mother to take Little Eric to Stephanie's because she wanted to talk to Rick. She told her husband that she loved him and wondered why Brooke and Kimberly couldn't leave them alone. Rick insisted that no one would break them apart. Amber suggested they move away where no one would bother them. Rick said he could not leave school, work and his family. He reminded Amber that his father and Stephanie had become very accepting of their relationship. He left to get them take out food.

Meanwhile Macy visited Taylor and Ridge's new home and oohed and ahhed over the twins. Macy went on and on about how she was looking forward to marrying Thorne and having children with him. Taylor could barely keep the truth to herself. Both she and Ridge discussed how they felt sorry for Macy. Ridge about lost it when Macy told them about Thorne aborting their dinner at the Café Ruse to visit Stephanie. Macy told Ridge she respected Thorne's concern for his mother. After Macy left, Ridge told Taylor that he was sure Thorne would have married Macy by now if Brooke were not in the picture.

Episode Date: Friday, November 26, 1999

A new episode of The Bold and the Beautiful did not air today because of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. A "classic" episode aired today. It was a 1997 repeat of a documentary of the filming of the epsiodes that were filmed in Lake Cuomo, Italy.

Episode Date: Monday, November 29, 1999

Thorne and Brooke noisily kissed at his house. They talked about having walked on the beach together and hoped Macy had not seen them. They agreed they had to keep their relationship a secret from everyone so Stephanie would not find out. Brooke said she hated hiding her true feelings, but moments like they were now sharing helped her through the rough times. They agreed they had lots of trouble ahead of them when Brooke said she was going to spend time with Bridgett. (Bridgett? Who's Bridgett? I seem to vaguely recall someone by that name.) Brooke wondered why Eric and Ridge were punishing them by trying to tear them apart. Thorne speculated there was something deeper than his mother's health that Eric and Ridge had against his relationship with Brooke. Thorne left for work and Brooke told herself there might be someone that could help them.

At their new home, Ridge and Taylor wondered what they could do to help end the mess their family was in. Ridge talked with his mother and discovered Thorne had not visited her when he left Macy at the Café Ruse. Taylor told her husband that Thorne had changed. Ridge said all he cared about was Stephanie's health. He left the house to meet his father to further discuss the matter.

At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie spied Eric looking worried. She asked him about his mood. Eric told his wife he had nearly lost her and was afraid that she might suffer further health problems. Stephanie told Eric not to worry because she was too stubborn to die. Ridge called and asked to meet his father at the office to discuss Thorne. Eric balked at first, but Stephanie insisted he go visit their son.

Eric and Ridge met in Thorne's office because they knew he would arrive to take inventory. For the umpteenth time, father and son talked about how they could end Thorne's relationship with Brooke. "Dad, we've been over and over this" Ridge said. (I'll say you have. Let's move on. Shall we?)

Thorne arrived and told Eric and Ridge he did not want to argue anymore. He suggested they could help Stephanie's health by banding together and showing Stephanie that Brooke was not he enemy. (No, no, no, Thorne. That's far to sensible a solution.) Eric screamed at his son that Stephanie had told him she was so looking forward to Macy and Thorne's wedding and that she didn't want any stress in her life. How was he going to explain his decision to not marry Macy to his mother?

Brooke stopped by Taylor's house and asked her for support in her relationship with Thorne. Brooke thought Taylor might have an idea of how to get through to Ridge. Taylor said she did know one thing that might work. But instead of telling Brooke her idea, she just stared at her and blinked her eyes. Oh, it was the end of the episode.

Episode Date: Tuesday, November 30, 1999

Sally paid an unexpected visit to Stephanie's house and pushed her way past Helen, the maid. Stephanie told Sally she wasn't accepting any visitors and asked her to leave. Sally informed La Forrester she had not come to visit but to gloat at how the mighty Queen Stephanie was no longer a threat to Spectra Fashions. Stephanie, surprised that even Sally would be so crass, asked for a little compassion.

"If you are looking for a nice healthy serving of pity accompanied by great, big, gooey crocodile tears full on commiseration and anguish I suggest you look someplace else because you're never going to find it here" was Sally's reply.

Sally goaded Stephanie by telling her how wonderful Spectra's business was doing. Sally said the House of Forrester would soon fall and it would be Stephanie's fault. Sally proclaimed Stephanie was incapable of doing anything productive again. Stephanie told Sally she'd be back at Forrester in a matter of months. Sally laughed that in a few months there would be no Forrester left. Spectra would take over the fashion world.

"How dare you treat me like a useless invalid" Stephanie replied. She told Sally she'd be back in no time at all and then Spectra should watch out. Stephanie said Sally had made a big mistake by coming to make fun of her. Sally turned her back to Stephanie and smiled. She didn't realize, however, she was facing a mirror. (How could you not notice that?) Stephanie saw the smile in Sally's reflection and realized La Spectra had come over to encourage her to get well. When Sally figured out she had been discovered she made a hasty retreat.

"You're no good, Sally, but thank you" Stephanie offered.

"I'll see you on the runway, kitten" Sally replied. (Kitten, did she say kitten?)

Thorne, Eric and Ridge continued their discussion in Thorne's office. Thorne told his brother and father they were telling him he must choose between Brooke and his mother's life. Thorne then exploded and called them both pathetic for laying such a guilt trip on him. Thorne pointed out that for the past twelve years Ridge had been involved with Brooke against Stephanie's wishes. (Yeah, big guy, what about that?) Thorne accused Ridge of setting the stage for their mother's stroke. Thorne then attacked his father. He told Eric that after twenty-five years of marriage he had left Stephanie for Brooke. That obviously couldn't have made Stephanie feel very good, but that didn't seem to matter back then. (You tell it like it is, girl.) After they had gone against Stephanie's wishes they were now making Thorne pay for their mistakes. Thorne pointed out he was a single man and could pursue whomever he chose. Eric admitted he had made mistakes (oh, such a big man) but made it clear that Thorne had to keep Brooke away from Stephanie. (I don't think that's going to be all that easy, because……)

At Ridge and Taylor's new house, Taylor told Brooke that the key to her relationship with Thorne was making peace with Stephanie. Brooke was spending too much time trying to gain the support of Ridge and Eric. The problem was her animosity with Stephanie. The only hope she had was to end her war with Thorne's mother. Brooke thanked Taylor for her honesty and her advice.

Next thing you know Brooke showed up at Stephanie's door with a bouquet of flowers. Brooke knocked a couple of times. Stephanie noticed Helen was not answering the door, so she approached it herself. Not receiving any answer, Brooke opened the door and saw Stephanie approaching in her wheelchair. Brooke greeted her nemesis with a friendly hello. Stephanie didn't say a word and simply kicked the door shut in Brooke's face with her functioning leg.

Brooke was shocked and found the blooms of her flowers were stuck in the door. She pulled them out and was left holding only the stems! Brooke opened the door again and with her cutest smile held up the now naked stems and told Stephanie she had brought flowers. Stephanie told Brooke she could not get upset and insisted Brooke leave immediately.

Now that is the reason I love The Bold and the Beautiful. What could become an extremely intense dramatic situation was juxtaposed with a hilarious scene of Brooke pulling her peace-offering bouquet from the door and examining the worthless green stems but still offering them to Stephanie anyway. Priceless, simply priceless.
