In her office, Brooke looked at photos of her and Thorne in Venice. (Who exactly took those photographs? That's what I'd like to know?) She tearfully put them away and told herself she'd have to forget about Thorne. Just then (what a surprise) Thorne came into the office and noticed she'd been crying. She explained Ridge had congratulated her on getting on with her life. She knew she had a wonderful life, but she was unhappy she could never have Thorne. Brooke changed the subject and asked how Macy was doing. Thorne told Brooke that Macy was upset he had missed her Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and went to Little Eric's birthday party instead. Brooke suspected Macy was upset he had been at the same party as Brooke. They agreed Macy could never learn the truth about what happened in Venice. The news would devastate her. Brooke said the reality of the situation would always hurt.

But over in Ridge's office, Macy wanted Thorne's brother to tell her what had indeed happened in Venice. Macy told Ridge she overheard the telephone conversation between him and Eric. Macy threatened to ask Eric or Stephanie for the truth if Ridge didn't tell her. Ridge insisted Macy never mention it to his mother because it wouldn't be healthy for her. (But telling her you never want anything more to do with her and that's she's evil is just fine. Is that right Ridge? Boy, are you delusional.) Ridge then told Macy that Thorne had asked Brooke to marry him in Venice. She had accepted but Eric concocted a plan to intervene. Ridge explained the plan to convince Thorne that Brooke hadn't really ever gotten over Ridge. Macy couldn't believe Ridge and Taylor would be part of such a scheme. With the help of speechless flashbacks, Ridge told how he had pretended his marriage to Taylor was over, how Brooke had put up a fight but eventually fell for his seduction. Ridge said Thorne saw a particularly intimate moment and ran off in the pouring rain. Macy gasped as she remembered meeting Thorne on the bridge in rain. (You had much shorter hair, I might add, Macy.) No dummy, Macy cried (one perfect tear, I might add) as she realized Thorne had proposed to her after witnessing Brooke's supposed betrayal.

Somewhere in the bowels of Spectra Fashions, Becky waited for CJ and grasped her stomach in pain. Sally and Darla ran into her and discussed the exciting trip Becky and CJ were taking to Santa Barbara. Sally and Darla went to find CJ and Darla told La Spectra that Amber was in the office talking to CJ.

Sally barged into her office just as Amber was about to tell CJ about Becky's disease. Sally told Amber whatever she wanted to tell CJ could wait until he returned from his vacation with Becky. CJ grabbed his bag and roses and left.

CJ and Becky drove down the highway and reveled in how lucky they were to have found each other. Becky guessed God had something special planned for them. (Yeah, like a real nice funeral, I'd guess.)

Back at Spectra, Sally threatened to call CJ on his cell phone and request that he and Becky return so Amber could explain her little secret to all of them. Amber didn't want to ruin Becky's trip, so she gave in to Sally's demands. Sally wanted to know what Amber was hiding. Amber admitted she was trying to protect Becky. Sally assumed Becky wasn't the sweet girl they all thought she might be. Amber corrected her and told Sally that Becky was dying of cancer! Sally was flabbergasted!

Episode Date: Tuesday, May 2, 2000

On their way to Santa Barbara, CJ and Becky stopped at a fast food joint to eat french fries and drink milk shakes in the car. Becky's off-key singing with the radio caused CJ to turn off the music. (And for that, I will be eternally grateful.) After some cringe-inducing, young-love banter, the two hit the road and arrived at The Wishing Well Cottage in Santa Barbara. Becky was awe struck by the grandeur of the accommodations. She told CJ she felt bad because he was showering her with so many gifts and all she had given him was a dinner she had burned. CJ tenderly kissed Becky and told her all he wanted was to be with her. "I love you so much" he told her. (Aw.)

Back in Sally's office, La Spectra couldn't believe what Amber had told her. Amber explained the entire story of her posing as Becky and receiving the diagnosis. Sally was shocked to learn that Becky did not know about her own condition. Amber said since the cancer was so far advanced and there was no treatment available, she only wanted to make Becky's last months happy. When Amber said she had told Stephanie, Sally realized why the Forrester matriarch had done an about face in her feelings toward Amber. Sally understood Amber's love for her cousin, but insisted Becky be told the truth. Sally said both Becky and CJ would need time to adjust to their fate since they were falling so much in love. Sally told Amber it would be hard, but she needed to be strong for her cousin. The longer she waited, the harder it would be.

Just then, CJ called to tell his mother they had arrived in Santa Barbara. Becky spoke with Sally and told her how fabulous their hotel was. Sally made Becky promise to enjoy each moment while she was away. After hanging up the phone, Sally and Amber exchanged worried looks. (Sure. What else do they have to do?)

At Ridge's office at Forrester Creations, Macy was upset Thorne had married her because of what Ridge had done to Brooke. Ridge corrected his sister-in-law. That was the reason Thorne didn't marry Brooke. He had proved that Brooke wasn't the right woman for Thorne. Thorne then realized he truly loved Macy. Macy wasn't so sure Ridge was correct. Ridge said everyone knew Thorne could never be happy with Brooke. That was the reason Macy went to Venice - to warn Thorne about that very fact. Ridge also commented that Thorne would certainly not stay married to Macy if he didn't love her. Macy countered that if Thorne was truly happy, why was he so angry at Ridge for interfering? Ridge said Thorne was only angry at the way Ridge had handled the situation. Ridge was certain Thorne had done the right thing. Macy feared he had done it for the wrong reason. Ridge told Macy to stop wondering about Thorne's feelings. He suggested she ask Thorne how he truly felt. Ridge said Brooke had told him she had given up on pursuing Thorne because he was totally committed to his marriage to Macy. Ridge was positive Brooke was not a threat to Macy's marriage.

But perhaps Macy's doubts are the greatest threat to her own marriage. Think about that, would ya?

Episode Date: Wednesday, May 3, 2000

Sally told Clarke that Becky had terminal cancer. Clarke found it hard to believe Becky had not been told the truth. Sally explained Amber's story of wanting her cousin to be happy. Clarke feared the truth would destroy CJ.

In Santa Barbara, CJ woke Becky, who was napping on the couch, with a kiss. When he presented dinner from room service on the terrace, Becky said she would never forget the evening. The two young lovers took a walk under the stars and found the wishing well the hotel had been named for. Becky made a wish that she would always be as happy as she presently was for the rest of her life. CJ told her he didn't need a wish because he had everything he ever wanted. When Becky insisted, CJ wished she could know how much he loved her. Becky thought it was a wasted wish because she certainly knew how he felt about her. CJ took Becky's face in his hands and told her he would do anything for her. (How about a new pancreas, big guy?)

Ridge lounged on his bed working on a lap top computer. (Oh, by the way, he wasn't wearing a shirt. It's about time we saw some male Forrester flesh. It's been almost three days without some Thorne or Ridge pectoral muscle.) Ridge told Taylor he had found a vacation home for them in Hawaii. There was enough room for the three kids and Catherine. (Catherine? Who's Catherine?) Taylor asked if Ridge had spoken with Morgan. Taylor was worried how her friend had reacted to the insemination examination room. Taylor felt there might be something Morgan wasn't telling her. When Taylor said Morgan had been vocal in her dislike of Stephanie, Ridge started to tell his wife about his past with Morgan but was interrupted by the telephone. It was Morgan calling to see if Ridge could come fix her bathroom sink. Ridge put a shirt on and asked Taylor to accompany him. Taylor had promised to read a book to Thomas when Catherine (WHO?) got him ready for bed.

After Ridge left, Thomas fell asleep before Taylor could finish his book. Catherine (who appears to be a nanny of some sort) appeared with cookies for Thomas. Taylor decided to join Ridge at Morgan's house and left Catherine all alone to eat the cookies.

Before Ridge arrived, Morgan found one of Ridge's old shirts in the beach house. She sniffed it (OK, that's just gross!) and wrapped it around herself. (Can you say psycho?) Luckily, she had removed the shirt when Ridge arrived with his tool box and wrench. (Ridge has a tool box? Who knew he was so handy around the house?) After he fixed the sink, he asked Morgan if she was still going through with her plan to get pregnant with artificial insemination. He understood her fear of the exam room because it must remind her of the abortion clinic. Morgan thought any fears she had would be worth it to have a baby. Morgan told Ridge that Stephanie had been to visit her and was quite cruel . Stephanie had tried to turn Morgan's decision to have a baby into something sick and twisted. Morgan insisted she never meant to lie to anyone about what had happened. She just could never bring herself to talk about it with anyone. Morgan feared she would be judged for murdering her child. When she broke down, Ridge took Morgan in his arms to comfort her.

Now this is going to be hard to believe, but at that very moment, Taylor arrived and saw her husband embracing another woman through the window. Taylor wasn't too happy about it and stormed into the house with a mean look on her face. Morgan was surprised to see her new friend and Ridge had one stupid look on his face. Shocking! Simply shocking!

Episode Date: Thursday, May 4, 2000

Ridge tried to explain to Taylor that the embrace between Morgan and him was only to calm her down. Taylor wondered if Morgan was upset about her leaking sink! (Good, one, Taylor.) Taylor figured out there was some secret between Ridge and Morgan and demanded to know the truth. Taylor wanted to talk to Ridge alone, so Morgan offered to go for a walk. Ridge pretty much just laid it on the line and said Morgan had had an abortion many years ago. She had confided the truth to him in Paris only after he forced her to come clean. When Taylor asked why Morgan felt so bad for so long after she had made the hard decision, Ridge admitted his mother had pressured Morgan to have the abortion. It had been his baby! As Morgan watched through the window, Taylor found it hard to believe Stephanie would force Morgan to go through with such a procedure. Ridge replied that Stephanie had freely admitted she encouraged Morgan to have the abortion and she was not at all sorry about. Taylor asked why Morgan had returned to Los Angeles and to Forrester Creations. Ridge guessed it was to put the past to rest but Taylor feared she was only causing trouble. Morgan had lied to Taylor and encouraged Ridge to lie to her as well. Ridge disagreed with his wife and said Morgan only wanted peace and that he wanted to help her. Morgan returned to the cabin and received a dubious glare from Taylor.

In the course of the conversation, Ridge explained that the sight of the examination room at the fertility clinic had reminded Morgan of the room where she had an abortion. Now I'm no expert on the subject (I'm a guy after all), but it looked like many exam rooms I've been in except the exam table had stirrups. Are we to believe that Morgan had not been to see a gynecologist in the 15 plus years since she had the abortion? If she had, I would think she would have had this reaction in past visits and either gotten over the phobia of known not to go into the room. But I digress…..

At Insomnia, Macy told Kimberly the story she had learned from Ridge about Thorne proposing to Brooke in Venice. (I think someone needs to give Macy a good slap across the face and tell her to get over her bad funky self.) Kimberly replied that Ridge had done everyone a favor by breaking up Thorne and Brooke. She was certain Thorne loved Macy and would not stay married to her if he didn't love her. Kimberly told her half-sister to trust her husband. Kimberly left the coffee house and encouraged Macy to go home and wait for her hunky spouse.

Meanwhile, speaking of hunky, Thorne walked through the Forrester work out facility clad only in a towel. (Yeah, that happens all the time.) He entered the steam room/sauna and found Brooke in there. He offered to leave, but Brooke pointed out he'd start rumors by leaving so quickly after he had entered. (The lighting in the room was very red. I suppose that was to indicate heat. It made Brooke and Thorne look like hour-old french fries under the heat lamp at McDonalds. There was also steam in the room. So was it a sauna or a steam room? We've been on this set before but it was always white tiled before, indicating a steam room. Now the benches are wood, which indicates a sauna. I need to be clear on these fine details. It makes so much difference in the storyline.) But I digress again….

Brooke seductively sprawled across a bench, but sat up straight (I'll bet Thorne did, too) when Thorne threatened to leave again. When Thorne headed for the door, Brooke grabbed his towel. Thorne covered his privates with his hands and was forced to stay. As Brooke used Thorne's towel as a pillow, she said it w as hard to meet men. Thorne listed all Brooke's attributes and then realized she was only fishing for compliments. They engaged in some trivial banter that ended with Brooke snapping Thorne's firm buttocks with the extra towel. More playful giggling and horseplay ensued until they ended up in each other's arms. (Now that as a shocker!) Brooke asked to hold him for a moment. Thorne gave in and stroked her hair. Finally, he could take no more and bolted from the room stark naked!

Well, what do you know? Kimberly entered the gym just as Thorne made a dash for it. Kimberly found it rather amusing (and titillating, I'm sure) but began her work out by kneeling down to pick up a dumbbell. Undetected, she was shocked to then see Brooke leave the sauna/steam room. She was dumbfounded!

Thorne returned to his office (unfortunately, now fully clothed). He spun around when Kimberly entered and slammed the door uttering these famous words: "You bastard! You were naked in the steam room with Brooke! What is the matter with you? How could you do this to my sister?"

I guess that answers the question. It's a steam room.

What? No Cinco de Mayo celebration? (Hey, I just remembered there used to be a Mexican restaurant set on The Bold and the Beautiful. They didn't use it very often. It was about the time Karen Spencer was hanging around. Can anyone remember the name of that restaurant?)

Morgan told Taylor she understood Taylor must be shocked to hear the story of her abortion. Ridge suggested they leave, but Taylor hugged Morgan and told her she was sorry for everything she had gone through. (Now it was Morgan's turned to be shocked. She hadn't expected such understanding.) Taylor said she wasn't angry that Morgan hadn't told her the truth. Obviously, Morgan just hadn't been ready to open up to her. Taylor promised that she and Ridge would help Morgan in any way they could. Morgan said she thought returning to Los Angeles would help her recover, but it had only opened up old wounds - especially fighting with Stephanie. Taylor tried to get Morgan to accept some of the responsibility for her own actions. Stephanie had certainly not forced Morgan to have the abortion. Taylor again offered her assistance as she and Ridge left a shaken Morgan.

In her office, Brooke gazed at a framed photograph of Thorne and her in Venice just as Rick entered the room. Brooke turned the photo face down on her desk but Rick asked what it was. He looked at the photo and told his mother he understood how much she missed her friendship with Thorne. Somehow (he's not really all that bright, you know) Rick figured out Thorne and Brooke were more than just friends. Rick asked how she could get involved with his half-brother after going through his other half-brother and their father. (OK, he didn't put it in exactly those words.) Brooke admitted the truth and said she had tried to deny her feelings and Rick could understand how that felt. Rick encouraged his mother to get on with her life just as Thorne had. He reminded Brooke of all the time she had wasted pining away for Ridge. Brooke replied that Thorne's marriage was a mistake. She said that Thorne had proposed to her (Brooke) in Venice before he married Macy. There had been a misunderstanding between them. Brooke squinted her eyes (haven't seen her do that in quite a while) and told her son she didn't think Thorne's marriage to Macy would last.

Over at Spectra fashions, Macy had apparently told her mother the truth about Venice she had learned from Ridge. Sally told her daughter to take Kimberly's advice and forget about it. Macy said she had to be certain Thorne loved her. (Whine, whine, whine.) Sally said if Macy felt threatened by Brooke, she needed to neutralize that threat. Macy needed to fight for what was hers.

Back over at Forrester Creations, in Thorne's office, Kimberly let her half-brother-in-law have it. Thorne declared he had not been cheating on Macy. Kimberly said she knew the truth about what happened in Venice and Macy knew it as well. Thorne was shocked to hear that news and said he really did love Macy. Kimberly told the hunk that if he truly loved Macy, he wouldn't be thinking about Brooke. He couldn't erase the past. Thorne swore that he meant his vow to Macy that he would never hurt her. Kimberly said he had already hurt her sister and he had better do something about it.

At that moment, Macy entered the office. She was surprised to see Kimberly there and upset with her when Thorne said Kimberly had told him what Macy had been going through. Thorne told his wife he knew she was insecure about Brooke. He had hoped it wouldn't come to this point, but they had to deal with it immediately.

Macy looked concerned and constipated. I suppose we're to think Thorne is going to dump Macy on the spot. How - oh how - can we wait until Monday?

Episode Date: Monday, May 8, 2000

Sally visited Stephanie at the Forrester mansion to ask for her advice to help CJ. Sally said she had always admired Stephanie's wisdom and judgement. Stephanie shared a photograph she had Giovanni take of Becky, CJ and Little Eric at the "Forrester Photo Gallery." (Why didn't she just take them to Sears for one of their photo specials? I hear they give you lots of wallet size photos.) Stephanie said it would be hard for anyone to accept the terrible truth about Becky's illness, but she thought the young 'uns could handle it. They agreed they should be told the truth as soon as possible to give them both time to process everything. Stephanie agreed to talk to Amber and convince her to tell her cousin that she was dying.

In Thorne's office, Macy admitted she knew everything that had transpired between Thorne and Brooke in Venice. They agreed it was time for the truth and Thorne told Macy he was sorry she had been hurting. Kimberly hung around and informed Thorne that Macy had almost started drinking again because of the mess he had caused. Thorne was devastated to hear that. Macy admitted it was true but she didn't feel she could confide in him. Kimberly butted in again that Macy didn't need Thorne's apologies, she needed him! At that point, Thorne kicked Kimberly's scrawny ass out of his office. (Actually, he politely asked Kimberly to give him and Macy some time alone. I'm the one that would have kicked her scrawny ass out.) Macy told Thorne she thought this time around with him would be different. She figured she had outgrown her doubts and insecurities. But the past couple of months had been the happiest and the most stressful time in her life. She now knew that Thorne had proposed to Brooke, that Brooke had accepted and why Thorne had broken it off with Brooke. Macy said she couldn't go on in this manner because she had become someone she didn't like. Macy explained that she should have believed Thorne's promise that he would never hurt her again. Her mother had made her see that Thorne had chosen to marry her. Macy exclaimed she was no longer afraid of Brooke. Miss Logan was no good for either of them and they would simply forget about her! Thorne didn't say much, but his face could be read loud and clear. It said "DOH!"

Over in Brooke's office, Rick was shocked to learn of his mother's romantic involvement with his half-brother, Thorne. Brooke explained why she and Thorne had tried to keep their romance a secret. Rick figured out what had happened in Venice and was mad that Ridge had hurt his mother yet again. Brooke wasn't upset because she was confident Thorne would come back to her. When Rick pointed out that Macy would be crushed if Thorne left her, Brooke said she harbored no ill will toward Macy. Brooke was certain, however, that Thorne would never be happy with Macy. Rick told his mother that he would accept her relationship with Thorne if it would truly make her happy. Rick left the office as Brooke daydreamed about Thorne. (Probably remembering snatching that towel in the steam room, I bet.)

Brooke's reverie was interrupted by Kimberly stomping into the room and slamming the door. "You are nothing but an immoral homewrecker!" Kimberly screamed at Brooke. Brooke told Kimberly to leave, but the teen informed Miss Logan it was her responsibility to protect her sister (since when?) and Brooke would have to answer to her if she hurt Macy.

Um, Kimberly, honey, I'd cool it just a bit. Not only is Brooke your boss, ya know, she's also your potential mother-in-law. This little scene isn't going to make Thanksgiving dinner very comfortable. That's all I'm saying.

Episode Date: Tuesday, May 9, 2000

In his office, Thorne asked Macy is she would really be able to put Brooke out of their lives. He expressed concern about her sobriety. Macy said her suspicions and doubts were indeed a threat to her staying sober. Macy explained that was why Brooke had to be excised from their lives. Macy knew the Forresters might be able to handle Brooke's treachery, but she was not strong enough. Macy hugged Thorne and thanked him for his support. He was what helped her through the rough times.

Up in Brooke's office, Kimberly told the CEO that Macy knew the truth about what had happened in Venice and that Kimberly saw Brooke and Thorne in the steam room. Kimberly told Brooke to respect Thorne's marriage. Brooke suggested Kimberly learn some respect herself. Brooke explained she had no problem with Macy. Kimberly knew Macy had a problem with Brooke. Kimberly said when Macy was through talking with Thorne that evening, he would want nothing to do with Brooke. Kimberly left in a huff.

As Brooke recovered from her brow beating, Thorne arrived. He said Macy knew everything that had happened between them. (Does she know about the obnoxious bubble bath scene we had to endure?) Thorne explained that Macy realized he still had feelings for Brooke and had been tempted to drink again. Thorne moaned that he should have been there for Macy, but was spending time with Brooke instead. Brooke reminded Thorne they had done nothing wrong. They really had been working. Brooke told Thorne things would only get worse if he didn't tell Macy the truth right away. (I've got a feeling, Brooke's idea of the truth is different than Thorne's idea of the truth.)

On the patio in Santa Barbara, Becky told CJ she had never felt better as she hid her pain. CJ guessed her strange mood might have to do with her missing her son. Becky said she missed Little Eric, but she wasn't afraid to be happy and spend time with CJ. She said CJ was perfect for her. CJ said he intended to treat Becky like a princess for a long time to come. (Or until she croaks, whichever comes first.)

In the seedy apartment, Amber spoke lovingly to Little Eric when Stephanie and Sally showed up. The two divas told Amber she had to tell CJ and Becky the truth about Becky's condition that night. Amber said she didn't know how to break the bad news. Becky was her best friend. They had shared their entire life together. Amber shared Becky's photo album and cried there would be no more photos to put in it. (Question #1: Didn't Amber meet singing star Raymond when they went to school together in Atlanta? We know that Becky had never been out of Furnace Creek she took her job in Paris. So how could Amber and Becky have spent their entire lives together when they lived in different cities?)

As Sally and Stephanie helped Amber fold the laundry (that was really rich), CJ called the seedy apartment. Amber put him on speaker phone so everyone could hear him say what a fabulous time he and Becky had in Santa Barbara. CJ said he couldn't imagine living without Becky in his life now. He was concerned that Becky's stomach had been bothering her and wanted her to see a doctor when they returned to Los Angeles. Oh, and by the way, they were returning that night! (Question #2: I don't recall there being a night and morning since the lovebirds went to Santa Barbara, although CJ spoke of watching the sunrise on the beach with Becky. I think they're trying to fool us into thinking time has passed.)

After Amber hung up the speaker phone, Sally said the truth must be told immediately. Amber agreed. (Question #3: Did CJ and Becky have sex? As horned up as B&B has been lately, I would think we would have seen some action if the two teens had engaged in some horizontal hula. Are we to believe they spent a night - although there is no proof a night occurred - together and didn't have sex? I'm doubting it.)

Episode Date:Wednesday, May 10, 2000

Kimberly pulled Macy into Morgan's empty office. Macy said Thorne was committed to her and would not fall for any of Brooke's "cheap, slutty tricks." (But those are the best kind, Macy.) Kimberly told her sister she was afraid Thorne already had. She explained how she had witnessed Thorne leaving the steam room buck naked and Brooke followed soon after. (Buck Naked should be Thorne's porn star name.) Macy was certain nothing had happened between her husband and Miss Logan because she trusted Thorne. Macy steamed that such tricks were "vintage Brooke Logan." Macy said her marriage and her sobriety were on the line and she wouldn't let Brooke win.

Meanwhile, in Brooke's office, Miss Logan and Thorne chatted. Brooke told her beloved he was miserable because he was denying his true feelings of love for her. She encouraged Thorne to fix the problem and tell Macy that he truly loved Brooke. Thorne feared that revelation would drive Macy to drink. Brooke said he couldn't stay married to Macy just to protect her. A marriage based on a lie would eventually end anyway. She pointed out that Ridge and Eric were really to blame for Macy's predicament. Brooke said Thorne did not love Macy as a husband should.

Apparently Thorne left Brooke's office because Macy arrived and startled Brooke as she slammed the door. Macy ordered the CEO to stop coming on to her husband. Brooke suggested Macy not push her. Macy paid no heed and called Brooke a "walking, talking piece of pornography." (Oh, that is low down, Macy. Way to go!) Brooke yelled that her relationship with Thorne was more than sex and that if it wasn't for Macy's drinking problem, she (Brooke) would be married to Thorne at that very moment. Macy glared back at Brooke.

Clarke appeared in Eric's office. Eric had wanted to talk to Clarke. They were both distraught that Becky was dying. Eric said they could learn so much from the young woman. She had no education and no experience but she had brought enemies together. Eric now knew that life was precious and every moment should be cherished. (Yeah, right, now where's my cocktail?)

At the Wishing Well Inn in Santa Barbara, Becky was in such pain she was sweating! (Ick!) CJ was concerned, but Becky said she was just hot. She thanked him for making the last few days the best of her life. (LAST FEW DAYS?!? Are they telling us Becky and CJ have been gone for more than one day? I find this difficult to swallow. I can count and they have been gone for only a couple of hours! It's the same day that they left!) But I digress. As they checked out of the hotel, they stopped by the wishing well again, kissed, took a photo and kissed some more. As CJ went to get the car, Becky made a wish that this relationship would last forever. Just after she tossed her penny into the well, she doubled over in pain.

Back in Los Angeles at the seedy apartment, Sally made peppermint tea to calm everyone's nerves. (That Sally is such a home maker.) Amber agreed that she had to tell Becky and CJ the truth about Becky's cancer but wondered why God had caused Becky to be sick. Stephanie and Sally had no answer but insisted they would be there to support both Becky and CJ. Stephanie assured Amber that everything would be OK. There was a knock on the door and Amber thought it must be CJ and Becky. She steeled her nerves to tell them the awful truth.

But wouldn't Becky have a key to the apartment? Why would she need to knock on the door? Could someone else be at the door? Who is it? Tawny? The oncologist? Bridgette? Wouldn't it be a hoot if it was Bridgette?

Episode Date: Thursday, May 11, 2000

At Stephanie's guest house, Kimberly bitched to Rick about Brooke's coming on to Thorne. Kimberly said his mother had no morals. When Rick told his girlfriend that he knew about Brooke's involvement with Thorne, Kimberly assumed he had blasted his mother as well. Rick explained that just as Kimberly had never given up on their relationship, his mother had not given up on Thorne. He believed his mother truly loved Thorne. Kimberly said their situations were nothing alike. Rick didn't love Amber. Macy and Thorne did love each other and shared a ten year history. Kimberly said she would do what was necessary to stop Brooke from ruining her sister's marriage. Rick said he had to support his mom and he wasn't sure she was wrong. Rick suggested he and Kimberly stay out of the battle. Kimberly said she knew Thorne had chosen Macy and she was going to help her sister any way she could.

In Brooke's office, Macy said Thorne was not married to her because of her alcoholism. Brooke said she had stayed away from Thorne - not because she had to but because she respected Thorne's decision. But it was now evident that Thorne really loved Brooke and was only protecting Macy. Macy responded that Thorne married her because he wanted to. Brooke asked if it was the kind of love Macy truly wanted. Brooke accused Macy of being dependent on Thorne for her sobriety. Macy denied the accusation, but Brooke said Thorne had told her that Macy had come close to drinking that week. Brooke told Macy she was strong and had stayed clean for several years on her own. She didn't need Thorne. If Macy truly loved Thorne, she'd let him go. Macy blew up and said Thorne had promised to never hurt her and she knew he meant it. Macy told Brooke to back off from Thorne or she would have to deal with the wrath of her and the entire Forrester family. Macy dared Brooke to keep it coming because she'd "…..like nothing more than to flush you down that sewer you've spent most of your life in." (Now that was harsh, girlfriend.) Macy said she would destroy Brooke if she didn't stay away from her husband.

On the way home from Santa Barbara, CJ stopped at the same fast food joint for burgers. He encouraged Becky to eat and told her she didn't have to pretend to feel good. He could tell she was in pain. Becky said she didn't mind the pain. She was so happy she needed some challenges in her life. With those words, the pain became unbearable and she screamed. CJ freaked and encouraged Becky to take deep breaths. (She's not giving birth, Sherlock.)

Meanwhile at the seedy apartment, Stephanie suggested Amber answer the knock on the door. Amber was afraid to face her cousin but only found Eric when she finally opened the door. He was surprised to learn that Amber had not told CJ the truth before he left with Becky for Santa Barbara. Amber could feel that her cousin was in pain. She realized Becky had not had her pain medication in two days. (That settles it. Becky and CJ were in Santa Barbara for two days. I'm not certain that's how many day's we've seen and I still want to know if they had sex.) The sad sack crew stood around and discussed how tragic the entire situation was (now that's really productive) when there was another knock on the door. Amber found CJ on the other side. He explained that Becky had gone to the drug store on the corner to buy something to settle her stomach. CJ entered the seedy apartment and found his mother, Stephanie and Eric there. Bright boy that he is, he sensed something was amiss and asked for them to explain. They all suggested they wait until Becky arrived, but CJ demanded to know right away. Amber assured him that Little Eric was fine. Sally finally agreed to tell CJ the truth. But before they could talk, they decided it would be best for everyone to fix a concerned look on their face and stare and CJ. (Again, a very productive move.)

Episode Date: Friday, May 12, 2000

In a couple of throw away scenes in Sally's office, Clarke told Darla about Becky's condition. Darla couldn't believe someone as good as Becky would be stricken with such a horrible disease. They agreed the truth would destroy CJ.

Yesterday, CJ told Amber that Becky had gone around the corner to the drug store. Today, Becky was in the vestibule of a church with her bag of antacid tablets. A very creepy minister appeared and asked if Becky needed any help. She explained she had not been in church in a long time and was overdue for a visit. The spooky priest said he had a feeling Becky knew that God was not only found in church but in the way one lived one's life. Becky said she did know that. As the padre left, he asked Becky to say a prayer for him because he thought she had influence in high places. (What was all that about?)

In the chapel (which I guess is right next door to the drug store around the corner from the seedy apartment) Becky thanked God for her son and for CJ. She assumed her pain might be God's way of reminding her life would not always be easy. She promised to support CJ in anything God might have planned for him. If her current pain was a sacrifice she had to endure for anything she had done, Becky said she would gladly bear it. In a parting oblation, Becky thanked God for how wonderful the Spectra and Forrester families had been to her. She asked God to use her to bring the two feuding families together. "Use me as an instrument of your peace. I'll do whatever is required" Becky pleaded. (OK, what was all that about? When did Becky get religion? Who was that spooky minister? Shades of Touched By an Angel again?)

But the real drama was happening at the seedy apartment (around the corner from the drug store next door to the church). CJ asked if something had happened to Becky's parents. When Amber assured him they were fine, CJ demanded to know what everyone was keeping from him. Amber whimpered as she explained how she had posed as Becky and gotten her medical test results. She said the results were very bad. Sally told her son that Becky had cancer. CJ couldn't believe it, but Eric said he had shown Becky's test results and x-rays to several doctors and they had all concurred with the diagnosis. As CJ freaked, Sally said he had to accept the truth to help Becky. CJ was reeling when he learned Becky did not know she was ill. He wanted to know why Amber didn't arrange for treatment. The gathered told CJ it was too late for treatment. Sally said Becky had only a couple of months to live.

CJ broke down and wept. "Not now" he wailed as Amber hugged him. They both cried. CJ picked up Little Eric and said he wanted to tell Becky about her illness himself. He asked that everyone leave. He kissed the baby on the forehead and handed him to Amber as she left in tears.

CJ hid Becky's pain pills in his pocket when she arrived. He explained the Amber had left to take Little Eric for a walk. Becky started to go after them but CJ stopped her. Becky could see CJ was upset and asked him what was the matter.

At this point, Mr. Smartypants would normally make some catty comment about CJ and Becky staring at each other and not saying anything until Monday. Instead, I have to say I cried during today's episode. Mick Cain (CJ) was phenomenal as he cried upon learning that Becky was going to die. The tears weren't forced and you could see the confusion and pain in his face. It's days like today that remind me why I am addicted to this program and the genre of soap operas in general.

But I still am Mr. Smartypants, you know. To lighten all the depressing rhetoric of today's episode, I'm sharing a couple of screen captures from a commercial that ran during the show. I think it was advertising some sort of breath freshener or gum or mouthwash or car wax. There was no male Forrester flesh today. This ad made up for it.

Taylor visited Ridge in his office. She hung up the telephone and suspected something was going on at Stephanie's house. She had heard voices in the background and said Stephanie was in a hurry to get off the phone. Ridge thought his mother had figured out Taylor now knew the truth of his mother's involvement with Morgan's abortion. Taylor could not bring herself to place all the blame on Stephanie. Taylor suggested life would be very different if Ridge had a child that would almost be an adult at this time. She asked her husband if he would have married Morgan. Ridge responded "Maybe." Ridge and Taylor did not know that Morgan was standing outside the door listening to their conversation. (She certainly has a knack for eavesdropping, doesn't she?) Ridge admitted he felt responsible for Morgan's history of problems because he hadn't been there for her. Taylor reminded him he couldn't change the past. Ridge agreed but said he would be here for Morgan now. Taylor questioned Morgan's motives for wanting a baby. She guessed Morgan might be trying to recapture some of her romance with Ridge.

Apparently, Morgan didn't want Taylor to continue so she burst into the office. Morgan substantiated Taylor's statement she had decided to go through with the insemination process. Morgan said she was going to do it today. (TODAY? It's the middle of the night, for crying in your beer. Does Dr. Palmer run a 24-hour insemination clinic? I thought New York was the city that never slept.) Taylor warned Morgan that having a child may not solve her problems. Morgan was confident that "loving" the child would solve her woes. She begged Taylor and Ridge to be with her during the insemination procedure. She was afraid of the doctor's office. Taylor agreed to help her out.

At the Forrester mansion, Amber worried she should have been there to help CJ tell Becky the truth. Stephanie, Sally and Eric agreed CJ would do what was best. Alone, Eric and Sally agreed Amber had shown great courage keeping Becky's illness a secret but it was time for her cousin to learn the truth.

Over at the seedy apartment, CJ told Becky she was beautiful and he always wanted to remember how she looked at that moment. Becky became suspicious that CJ had asked Amber to leave with Little Eric even though Becky wanted to see her son. CJ explained that he just wanted a little more time alone with her. Becky commented on how fabulous her life was as she started to prepare a smoothie to drink. She explained that she didn't realize how much better Amber's concoctions made her feel until she had quit drinking them. CJ remembered the pain pills he had placed in his pocket and offered to make the drink for his girlfriend. He doctored the smoothie with the pain medication and gave it to Becky. As Becky partook of the nasty tasting drink, she went on and on about how much she was looking forward to Little Eric growing up. CJ couldn't bear it and was just about to tell Becky she was dying when she collapsed in pain. CJ held her and stroked her hair. He wanted to call 911, but Becky convinced him she was going to be fine.

CJ told Becky he would always be there for her and made her promise never to shut him out. Becky worried that CJ's sweet talk meant something was wrong. CJ insisted that she was his number one priority and he would be there for her son for his entire life. Becky was stunned by CJ's comment. She said she secretly dreamed of spending their life together but didn't want to move too fast. She never wanted to pressure him. CJ said he had thought of marriage as well. They agreed their wedding day would be beautiful.

"I don't want this to end" CJ said as he hugged Becky.

"It doesn't have to" was Becky's reply.

CJ was determined not to let it end. He got down on one knee and asked a stunned Becky to marry him.

Now I don't mean to be a Mr. Smartypants (well, OK, yes I do) but I could just smell that one coming from the opening scene today. What a surprise!

Morgan and Taylor were chatting in Dr. Palmer's office. (Just as I suspected, it is a 24 hour fertility clinic - for all your insemination needs.) While Ridge was parking the car, Taylor looked over the profile of the sperm donor Morgan had selected. (#31677) As Taylor read aloud, she realized Morgan had picked a man that looked identical to Ridge. "This could be my husband" Taylor commented. Ridge entered the office and wanted to take a gander at the profile as well. Morgan would not let him. She said she was embarrassed. She told them that the father-to-be was a graphic designer and played the guitar. (Just like Ridge, although he hasn't played the ol' guitar in quite some time. Pity!) Morgan thanked the couple for coming to support her even though she knew they thought that having a baby wasn't the right thing for her to do. Taylor said she didn't disagree with Morgan's desires, she simply couldn't do what Morgan was planning herself. Taylor said that having a child would be a wonderful experience. Dr. Palmer entered and said it was time to begin the procedure. Morgan looked scared and Taylor said she could wait until next month. (Oh yeah, things need to happen at certain times, right? Maybe that's why the fertility clinic is open around the clock.) Morgan was certain she was ready to go through with the insemination process. (I'm just hoping we don't have to watch.)

At the Forrester mansion, Amber wanted to call the seedy apartment to find out how things were going. Stephanie wondered if perhaps they should have stayed to help CJ tell Becky the truth. Sally gave a big old sentimental speech about how much CJ had grown in his love for Becky. Sally was certain her son would say just the right things. She thought the two young lovers needed some time alone together to process the information. They all agreed they would need to be strong for Becky's sake. As Sally telephoned Darla, Amber worried that Becky would disappear. Stephanie said she would live forever in their memories. The foursome (plus Little Eric) packed it up and returned to the seedy apartment.

But before they got there, Becky was surprised that CJ proposed marriage. "Please spend the rest of your life with me" CJ pleaded. Becky didn't take him seriously and said she would someday. CJ insisted it had to be immediately. Becky was skeptical of CJ's motives, but he explained that she had made him feel this way. She insisted he didn't have to marry her. He said he wanted to marry her. Becky continued to argue but CJ said he knew the time was right. He asked if she didn't feel the same way about him. Becky sighed and said she knew he was the one for her but didn't see any hurry because they had all the time in the world. "No we don't!" CJ screamed. Becky was puzzled but CJ covered by saying no one ever knew how much time was left. That's why he wanted to live each moment with Becky as his wife. Becky admitted the idea sounded good but what would happen when reality set in. CJ promised to be there to take care of her when that happened. He swore she would never be alone. They shared a kiss.

Becky still wanted to wait until CJ finished school. CJ took her in his arms and asked her to picture them dancing at their wedding. He told her that if they were married, what they had would be forever. Becky cried as she told him that her final wish at the wishing well had been for their love to last forever. With that, she agreed to marry him. They kissed and hugged as Amber, Sally, Stephanie, Eric and Little Eric walked through the door. Amber saw Becky hugging CJ and crying. (But she's happy, not sad, Amber.) Becky turned and saw her cousin. Amber stretched out her arms and said "Oh, Becky, I'm so sorry."

As they two cousins embraced, Becky was perplexed by Amber's cryptic message and CJ hung his head in despair.

How are they going to talk their way out of this mess?

Episode Date:Wednesday, May 17, 2000

At the seedy apartment, Becky asked why Amber said she was sorry. Amber looked at CJ and asked if he had told her. CJ covered Amber's faux pas by saying since Becky was crying, Amber must have thought they had broken up. Becky happily told the assembled throng the exact opposite was true. She and CJ were going to get married. Sally was bowled over and asked to speak to CJ privately.

Sally and CJ retired to Becky's bedroom. CJ admitted he could not find a way to tell Becky she was dying. Sally blamed herself for leaving CJ alone to handle such a difficult task. She then suggested that everyone sit down and tell Becky the truth together. CJ said he didn't want to tell Becky until after the wedding. Sally said getting married would not make Becky happy. She insisted Becky needed to learn the truth as soon as possible so she could have time to deal with it.

Back in the living room, Amber said the marriage proposal was a surprise. Stephanie asked if she didn't think CJ was being impulsive. Becky told how CJ had gotten serious after they returned from Santa Barbara and told how he would always be there to take care of her. She had tried to talk him out of it but knew he was determined. Amber asked if marrying CJ was what she wanted. Becky replied that she knew her relationship with CJ was forever. Amber confidently said they would make it happen.

Stephanie and Amber then joined Sally and CJ in the bedroom. Amber agreed that they could not tell Becky the truth now. Stephanie said it would not be fair to Becky to keep her in the dark any longer. CJ replied that nothing about the situation was fair. Marrying Becky was all he had to give her to make her last few weeks as happy as possible. He pleaded with Sally and Stephanie to help him with Becky's last chance at happiness. They foolishly agreed.

Everyone returned to the living room as Becky experienced another stomach pain. Becky said she would not marry CJ without Sally's blessing. Sally said it marrying her son was what Becky truly wanted, she would give it. Becky was ecstatic as CJ silently thanked his mother.

I just want to say I think this may be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I can see how half of Pine Valley on All My Children could keep a baby's paternity from Jake. But how on earth can the entire Forrester clan keep cancer a secret from a woman who's constantly in pain. Oh, I forgot. Becky must be as stupid as this storyline.

Meanwhile, across town at the 24-hour fertility clinic, Morgan entered the exam room in a suitably unflattering hospital gown. Ridge and Taylor comforted her nerves. Dr. Palmer arrived to begin the procedure. He explained how the insemination process took place in excruciating detail. (Yawn!) He said there would be a 15% chance of success, but they could try as many as 6 times. Morgan didn't think she could endure the procedure more than once. As Morgan got on the exam table, Ridge started to leave the room, but Morgan begged him to stay. Morgan could not relax as Dr. Palmer started to do his thing. Taylor tried a relaxation technique, but Morgan could not take it easy. After several failed attempts to begin, Morgan sprang from the table, announced she would not go through with it, and bolted through the door.

Omigawd! Where is Morgan headed in that hospital gown?

Episode Date: Thursday, May 18, 2000

New day! New day! New clothes for everybody!

At Spectra Fashions, Sally told Clarke how upset CJ had been when he found out Becky was dying of pancreatic cancer. Clarke felt sorry for his son but was shocked to hear from Sally that CJ had not told Becky the truth but had asked her to marry him instead. Sally thought they should respect CJ's wishes and support the decision. Clarke did not agree and said they could not let the wedding happen.

Across town at the seedy apartment, Amber prepared yet another smoothie with Becky's pain medication blended in. (I'm not sure my dear readers around the world know what a smoothie is. Generally, smoothies are prepared with fresh fruit, fruit juice and crushed ice mixed together in a blender. Sometimes frozen yogurt is added. Here in the United States we have stores that sell nothing but smoothies. It's a fad. It can't last much longer. They have the staying power of pet rocks and mood rings.) Becky awoke and told Amber she hadn't slept last night because she had been so excited about marrying CJ. Becky knew Amber was concerned about Becky's health. Becky thought she only had the flu and promised she would feel better before the weeding. Becky even commented that she didn't look too good. Amber convinced her to go back to sleep and rest.

CJ arrived to see his beloved, but Amber told him Becky was sleeping. Amber asked if he was sure he wanted to marry Becky. CJ was certain and said he wanted to do it as soon as possible. He said he had wanted to tell Becky about her illness, but just couldn't find the words. Now, he only wanted to spend every possible moment with his true love. Amber told CJ she wanted to give the dress she wore when she married Rick to Becky. CJ questioned the decision since it was the only thing Amber had left of her marriage to Rick. Amber explained that Stephanie had given it to her and now it should be passed on. (Doesn't anyone want a new dress these days?) Their conversation was interrupted by a phone call from Clarke. He wanted to speak to his son as soon as possible. CJ left and promised Amber he would return soon.

Becky entered the living room. She thought she had heard CJ's voice. Amber told her cousin CJ would return. Amber told Becky she wanted her to have Stephanie's lovely wedding gown. Becky said she couldn't accept the gift. It was Amber's dress. Amber insisted it was Becky's dress now.

Back over at Spectra Fashions, CJ entered his mother's office just as Clarke told Sally that CJ was not going to marry Becky. CJ informed his father he was definitely going to marry his dying fiancée. (Now that's a soap opera tradition if I've ever heard one.)

Alone in her office at Forrester Creations, Stephanie prayed that CJ and Becky would have a little time together. Taylor stormed into the room and demanded that Stephanie tell her truth about Morgan's abortion. Taylor was furious that Stephanie had hidden the truth from her. Taylor couldn't understand how a woman that valued family, integrity and honesty , like Stephanie (?), could manipulate a 17-year-old girl to have an abortion. Stephanie defended herself and said she had not forced Morgan to have an abortion. Morgan had asked her for advice, Stephanie had offered what she felt was the best solution to the problem and Morgan took the advice. Taylor thought perhaps Stephanie had been looking after her own best interests. Stephanie snapped at Taylor and told her not to judge. Stephanie contended that Morgan was playing the innocent victim. Morgan had known Ridge was playboy and chose to chase him anyway. Then she was supposedly heart-broken when she got pregnant. Stephanie told Taylor that Morgan wanted something then and she was after something today. Stephanie told her daughter-in-law not to trust Morgan. Taylor disagreed and told Stephanie to stop defending herself. The matriarch begged Taylor not to let Morgan come between them. Taylor said Stephanie had created the situation and placed Taylor in the middle. She left the office to comfort her distraught friend. Alone again, Stephanie hoped Taylor would take her advice and be wary of Morgan.

At the beach house, Morgan (lounging in a trashy two-piece ensemble decorated with ferns and sequins) found an old photograph of Ridge, Taylor and Thomas. She lovingly gazed at the photo. (Can you say stalker?) Taylor arrived and asked if Morgan was all right. She and Ridge had expected her to call after she ran out of the doctor's office the previous night. Morgan apologized and said she thought she had been prepared, but she suddenly realized she was going to have a baby with a stranger. Taylor said it was normal to be hesitant. Morgan thanked Taylor for her support. Taylor reminded her friend she had promised to be there for her. As the two women embraced, Taylor remembered Stephanie's warning not to trust Morgan. (I agree. Never trust a woman who wears sequins around the house.)

Episode Date: Friday, May 19, 2000

CJ and his father continued to discuss CJ's marriage proposal to Becky. Clarke argued that Becky deserved to know the truth about her condition. CJ said he would tell her she was dying right after their wedding. Clarke wanted to know if CJ would have asked Becky to marry him if she weren't sick. CJ said he would have asked her someday, but they didn't have the luxury of time. CJ pointed out that he didn't need Clarke's permission to get married. Clarke replied that was true, but he did want his approval. Clarke said CJ didn't have to marry Becky to make her happy. CJ argued that he did and Sally agreed. Clarke asked CJ how he thought Becky would feel when she learned she was going to die right after getting married. She wouldn't want to leave CJ a widower. Clarke also pointed out that once they were married, Little Eric would be CJ's son. CJ admitted he hadn't thought about that fact. Clarke said it wasn't fair to allow Becky to make plans for a future that didn't exist. CJ agreed it wasn't fair as he left his mother's office.

Over at the seedy apartment, Becky thanked Amber for the dress but decided she could not accept it once she learned it had been Stephanie's wedding gown. Amber convinced her cousin to take the dress because it was a "lucky dress." (WHAT? Yeah, it was real lucky for Stephanie. Her husband divorced her for a woman less than half his age after 25 years of marriage. And we all know how lucky Amber was after wearing the gown. What on earth is Amber talking about?) But stupid Becky believed her and tried on the dress. Amber cried because Becky looked like an angel. Becky thanked Amber for doing so much for her. (What is up with this incredible expanding wedding dress? First, Stephanie wore it 30-odd years ago. There's no way of telling what size it was at that point, but Amber was 8 ½ month pregnant when she wore it a year ago. Then Amber wore it when she and Rick had their second wedding. The dress, apparently altered, fit her stick frame figure perfectly at Christmas-time. Now, it appears to fit Becky perfectly. Becky is a normal sized healthy girl. Amber is pencil thin. Can anyone explain to me how this dress seemingly fits everyone?)

Amber disappeared and Becky was alone in the apartment experiencing some big time pain when CJ knocked on the door. Becky stalled until the pain subsided and then opened the door. CJ said his father didn't want them to get married. Becky agreed that perhaps they had not thought the situation through. CJ said he wanted to marry Becky but he couldn't until he did something. That something was presenting her with a ring. He explained that it was more than an engagement ring, it was an eternity ring. It meant they would be together forever, not just a lifetime. CJ stated he wanted to get married right away. Becky cried. They kissed.

Down at the beach house, Morgan told Taylor she could not return to the fertility clinic although she still wanted to have a child. Taylor suggested the time just wasn't right. Morgan said the time was perfect, but she had decided not to pursue artificial insemination. She wanted to have a baby with a real man, not a list of statistics. Taylor agreed and offered to help Morgan find the right man. Morgan replied that she didn't want a husband, she only wanted a man to father her child. Taylor asked how Morgan intended to make that plan work. Morgan was hesitant to explain, but Taylor said she was a psychiatrist. It was impossible to shock her. (You may be a doctor, Taylor, but you are dense as a rock, honey. I think we all know what Morgan has in mind.) Morgan said she had selected a man to father her child and they both knew him. (Think, Taylor, how many people do you and Morgan know in common?) Morgan said she wanted Ridge to father her child. (Surprise, surprise, surprise.) Taylor was shocked and asked if Morgan was playing some kind of mind game. (Uh, both players need a racket for that sport, dearie.) Morgan denied any game playing and asked if Taylor would let Ridge knock her up. (OK, that's not exactly what she said, but that's what she meant.)

Episode Date: Monday, May 22, 2000

In response to Morgan's bombshell that she wanted Ridge to father her child, Taylor said it was out of the question. Morgan said she only wanted Ridge to be a sperm donor. The child would never know the truth of his/her parentage. Morgan asked if Taylor was upset. Taylor replied she was more confused than upset. She didn't understand how Morgan could ask such a "favor" from her and Ridge. Morgan explained that she wanted the father of her child to be someone she knew, admired and respected. She planned to leave town once she got pregnant to start a new life. Morgan even offered to draw up legal papers making her the sole parent. Morgan insisted she had no designs on Ridge. (Designs. Morgan and Ridge are designers. Get it?) Morgan pleaded with Taylor to give her this "precious gift." (If Ridge is only donating sperm, I don't think you're going to actually get his "precious gift.") Taylor asked Morgan not to put her in a difficult position. Morgan said she wouldn't ask such a favor if Ridge and Taylor weren't totally devoted to each other. Morgan asked what Taylor was afraid of. Taylor insisted she wasn't afraid. She was uncomfortable with the suggestion and she was certain Ridge would never go for the idea. Morgan begged her "best friend" to think about the idea. Taylor asked Morgan to give her some time. (Oh, just wait until Stephanie gets a load of this scheme. She's going to hit the ceiling!)

In Brooke's office at Forrester Creations, Rick told his mother that Kimberly and Macy didn't think his mother truly loved Thorne. Brooke explained that Thorne was trying to protect Macy because he was afraid she would start drinking again if he left her. Rick told his mother Thorne should not leave her in limbo like that. Brooke deserved better. Brooke explained that Thorne just needed some time to sort things out. Rick angrily said it was time for Thorne to make a decision. Brooke was flustered that Thorne was late for a buyer's meeting and left to meet the guests.

At the beach bungalow, Macy lay awake in bed and thought about Brooke telling her that Thorne was only married to her to keep her from drinking. On the other side of the bed, Thorne dreamed of being alone in the steam room with Brooke. But this time, he didn't pull away. In his dream, he and Brooke kissed passionately and did the big nasty on the wooden bench. (No splinters, I hope.) Thorne was awaken by Macy licking his chest. (Have they even brushed their teeth yet? Morning breath - ick!) Macy suggested Thorne make love to her. In fact she wanted to start a family that very morning! Thorne didn't want to rush into having a baby. He asked if Macy's sudden desire to have a child was a reaction to her conversation with Brooke. He asked if she was insecure in their relationship. Macy was offended and asked Thorne not to ruin the moment. Thorne noticed he was late for the buyer's meeting with Brooke. (Macy had turned off the alarm.) He bolted from the bed. (And I just want to point out that Thorne has the smallest nipples I have ever seen on a man.)

Macy followed Thorne to the kitchen where she found him packing up all the liquor in the house. (For an alcoholic's home, they sure had lots of booze sitting around.) Thorne said he was trying to help her by removing temptation from the house. Macy complained that he was treating her like a child. Thorne insisted he only wanted to help. He picked up the huge box of liquor bottles and left.

When he arrived at Forrester Creations, Thorne burst into Brooke's office looking for her. Rick was there and told his older half-brother they needed to talk. Rick told Thorne to stop treating Brooke so poorly. Rick said it was time for Thorne to be honest with Macy, Brooke and himself. Rick asked if Thorne truly loved Brooke.

Meanwhile, back in the bungalow kitchen, Kimberly (with new, brunette hair) paid Macy a visit. Macy complained that Thorne didn't trust her. Kimberly thought Thorne was only trying to help her, but Macy thought a husband

should want more than that. Macy asked if perhaps Brooke was right. Maybe Thorne did view his marriage to Macy as an obligation. Kimberly insisted her hair color was natural…. I mean, she insisted Thorne truly loved Macy. Macy opened the cupboard to get coffee and found one last liquor bottle Thorne had forgotten in his haste. As Macy gazed lovingly at the bottle and stroked it gently, Kimberly got all freaked out and told Macy she was spooking her. (Kimberly, honey, that new hair color is spooking me. Can we soften it just a little?)

Episode Date: Tuesday, May 23, 2000

Becky arrived at Spectra Fashions (we have no idea why) and stopped outside Sally's office. The door was ajar and she heard Clarke tell Sally he would not allow CJ to marry Becky. Becky knocked on the door and told the duo she had heard them arguing. She understood Clarke's concern that CJ was too young. Becky insisted she wanted the best for CJ, too. She told Clarke that he could pick any date that he would permit them to get married because she would certainly love CJ forever. Besides, she said they had the rest of their lives to be together. Clarke's heart melted at that statement and he gave his permission for the young lovebirds to get married. Sally pursed her lips.

Meanwhile, Rick continued to rail against Thorne in Brooke's office. Rick asked why Thorne was married to Macy if he truly loved Brooke. Thorne said it wasn't all the easy. Rick said he understood perfectly. Rick did not want any excuses. Thorne had an obligation to Brooke as well. Thorne said he wasn't happy with the situation. Rick insisted he change the situation, then. Rick said staying with Macy just to protect her from drinking was a lousy reason to stay married - especially if he loved another woman. ("Hello, Kettle? This is the pot. You're black.") Rick guessed Macy already knew the truth about Thorne's feelings. He was sure that would cause her to drink, too. Rick screamed that he would fight to the end to protect his mother and his family. (What on earth is he talking about?) Rick pointed out that Macy would want children and that would make matters worse. Thorne said the entire situation was none of Rick's business. Thorne insisted Brooke would be fine. Rick snorted that Ridge used to say the same thing. Thorne warned Rick not to compare him to Ridge. Rick egged Thorne on by saying he was actually worse than Ridge. They half-brothers started pushing each other when Brooke entered.

Brooke was horrified at the sight of her lover and son fighting. Rick said he used to admire Thorne but now saw him as pathetic. Rick added that Thorne didn't deserve to have Brooke's love. Rick said Thorne was a fool to throw away the relationship after all they had been through. (Uh, how does Rick know everything they've been through?) "You are a loser! You stay away from my mother" Rick bellowed. Thorne asked to speak to Brooke alone. Rick reluctantly left the office.

Alone with Brooke, Thorne admitted that Rick was correct. It was time for him to leave Macy. "God help me, I love you" Thorne whispered. Brooke was delighted as the couple kissed.

But down at the beach bungalow, Kimberly asked Macy to give her the bottle of vodka. Macy told her half-sister to leave. She knew that one drink would help. It didn't matter anymore because Thorne didn't trust her. Macy said Thorne thought she was a helpless drunk and that was the only reason he was still married to her. She opened the bottle and told Kimberly no one could stop her. Kimberly said only Macy could stop herself. Kimberly pointed out that this had nothing to do with Brooke or Thorne. It was totally about Macy. Macy said she only wanted to numb the pain. Kimberly thought if Macy took a drink, then Brooke would have won. Macy pointed out that Brooke had already won. Kimberly disagreed. The younger sister then asked Macy to consider her Alcoholics Anonymous protégé, Roberta. Macy had to stay strong for her. Macy broke down and handed the bottle to Kimberly. Kimberly took the vodka and left, telling Macy to call her if she needed anything. (I'm thinking she needs you to stay, oh thou of the dark tresses.)

Kimberly high-tailed if over to Spectra Fashions to tell Sally about Macy's near vodka tonic. (Honey, didn't you consider that calling on the telephone might have saved a little time?) Sally asked why Macy was so upset. Kimberly replied that Macy was afraid she was losing her marriage.

Indeed! At that very moment on some sunny Los Angeles street, Macy cased out a liquor store wearing dark sunglasses and some sort of unflattering sweater dress. (I suppose she was disguised as a drunk with no fashion sense.) Macy entered the store (which was, perhaps, the single cheesiest set I've ever seen on B&B) and asked the proprietor for a fifth of vodka. She didn't even care what brand. (Macy, dearest, buy Absolut. The have those fabulous ads in the magazines, ya know?) Macy took the brown-bagged bottle and held it close. We never actually say her take a drink.

Oh, Macy, at least show some class and buy some cranberry juice cocktail. You can make delicious Cape Cods. They are such a nice, summery drink.

Episode Date:Wednesday, May 24, 2000

In her office, Sally asked why Macy was upset enough to start drinking again. Sally couldn't believe it when Kimberly explained that Thorne was still infatuated with Brooke. Kimberly told Sally how Ridge had tricked Thorne into believing Brooke had been unfaithful to him in Venice. Macy now knew the truth, but Kimberly was certain there was no more liquor in Macy's house. Sally was certain Macy would not drink. Besides, she reasoned, Thorne was well over Brooke. Kimberly told Sally what she had witnessed in the Forrester steam room. "That little tramp!" Sally replied. "I have no intention of letting a mantrap like Brooke Logan interfere with my daughter's marriage." (You tell 'em, Sal! But a mantrap? Is that anything like a Venus Flytrap?) Sally planned to visit Brooke and Thorne to tell them off, but decided she should check in on Macy instead. Sally thanked Kimberly for her concern and rushed out the door.

At the beach bungalow, Macy opened the bottle of vodka she had purchased and got a glass. (May I say that the bottle was much larger than the fifth she had ordered in yesterday's episode.) Macy started at the bottle and remembered Brooke's taunting words of how Thorne was only staying with her to keep her from drinking. Macy poured a glass of liquor and picked it up…..

Meanwhile, in Brooke's office at Forrester Creations, Thorne professed his love to Miss Logan. They kissed. He admitted Rick was right about how he should treat Brooke better. They kissed. Brooke joked that it was time he came to his senses. They kissed. Thorne said he could not live without Brooke. They kissed. Thorne said he had tried to be someone he couldn't be - Macy's savior. They kissed. Brooke was glad it was over. They kissed. Thorne said he would tell Macy the truth because he couldn't be separated from Brooke any longer. They kissed. Thorne admitted his pride and male ego had gotten in the way when he saw Brooke kissing Ridge. They kissed. Brooke said she knew this day would come. They kissed. Brooke was hesitant because they had been close to happiness before. They kissed. Thorne promised he wouldn't lose Brooke again. They kissed. Thorne left to tell Macy he was dumping her. (I bet Brooke and Thorne both needed a new tube of chap stick after that scene.)

Thorne arrived at the bungalow but didn't find Macy. He did find the empty glass in the sink. He sniffed it. (Just like the dog he is.)

Back at Forrester, Brooke glowed in her office. She looked up as Macy entered wearing those huge sunglasses again. Brooke was startled. "You look frightened, Brooke" said Macy. "You should be." Now we didn't actually see Macy take a drink, but she's looking pretty cocky here. I hope she took my advice and made some tasty Cape Cods. A little wedge of lime makes them even better - and ever so festive!

Episode Date: Thursday, May 25, 2000

At the seedy apartment, Amber force fed Becky yet another drugged-up smoothie as CJ arrived. Becky said she had convinced CJ's dad to give his permission for them to get married. CJ expressed his gratitude with a huge kiss and a hug. Becky started to list all the items they had to cover to prepare for their wedding next week (NEXT WEEK?) but Amber said she had already called the florist, the bakery and the chapel. Becky was a little miffed that Amber had taken over the plans. CJ convinced his fiancée that Amber was only trying to help. Becky apologized and said she would try to feel better by their wedding day.

CJ then suggested Becky call her parents in Furnace Creek to tell them about the impending nuptials. At first, Amber didn't think it would be a good idea, but finally agreed with CJ. Becky was afraid to call her folks because she thought they wouldn't approve. CJ convinced her it was the right think to do. Becky called her parents and both ends of the line got on speaker phone. (I'm glad Joe and Tillie live in a tackily decorated trailer but can afford the luxury of a speaker phone.) CJ introduced himself to Joe and Tillie and said he wanted to marry their daughter. Tillie asked if Becky was pregnant again. (Oh, that motherly love.) Joe said he would not allow them to marry and they were headed to Los Angeles to stop them from doing anything foolish. Amber chimed in that CJ was a fine young man. Tillie thought something was fishy that they couldn't wait a few years to get married. Becky cried in CJ's arms when her parents hung up the telephone. CJ promised he wouldn't let them stop the wedding.

At Forrester Creations, Brooke asked Macy why she had come to her office. Macy said she wanted her husband. They had started to make a baby that morning, but Thorne had run off to a meeting with Brooke. Brooke told Macy that Thorne had gone home, not to make love to her, but to tell her the marriage was over. Macy got in Brooke's face (bad idea) and said Brooke knew nothing about love or commitment. Thorne was never going to leave her. The close proximity of Macy's breath made Brooke realize she had been drinking.

At the beach bungalow, Thorne's glass sniffing was interrupted by Sally's arrival. Sally told Thorne she knew about everything that happened in Venice. Sally chastised Thorne for keeping it a secret from Macy. She explained how Kimberly had feared Macy would take a drink. Sally was concerned what Thorne's shenanigans had done to her daughter. Thorne said he was not responsible for Macy's sobriety. He wanted to tell her that she needed to find the strength from within to resist temptation and not depend on him. Sally lectured that a marriage had to be nurtured. Macy was going through a rough time right then and needed Thorne's support. Sally told Thorne she would hold him personally responsible if Macy started drinking again. At that moment, Brooke called to tell Thorne Macy was in her office. Thorne hung up the phone before Brooke could get into the juicy details. Thorne rushed out the door, leaving a quizzical Sally behind.

While Brooke was on the phone with Thorne, Macy pulled what looked like a two liter vodka bottle from her purse (it was a very large purse) and started to chug-a-lug. Brooke screamed in horror and grabbed the industrial size bottle from Macy and poured the remaining liquid in her waste basket. A pathetic Macy grabbed the bottle and tilted it toward her lips, trying to get every precious drop. (No more Cape Cods, I guess.)

Macy screamed that she hated Brooke and wanted her to stay out of her life and her marriage. When Brooke said Thorne was on his way over, Macy accused Brooke of wanting Thorne to see her in an inebriated condition to ruin their chances at being happy. Macy ordered Brooke to get her some sober-up coffee. As Brooke was leaving her office, Thorne arrived. Thorne couldn't believe the sight of his drunken wife. Macy was ashamed and hid her face. Thorne took Macy in his arms and held her. Brooke looked on as that single, perfect tear trickled down her left cheek. (As only the lovely Brooke can do.)

From Eric's office, Stephanie spoke on the telephone with Amber. Amber explained that Becky's parents were coming to Los Angeles to meet CJ. Stephanie implored Amber to tell them Becky was dying of cancer even though CJ wanted to hide the truth from them. After hanging up the telephone, Stephanie and Eric agreed it was a no-win situation. Stephanie told Eric (and the audience, since we didn't know any of this had happened) that Becky had grown close to her parents again since she had returned to LA and obtained custody of Little Eric. (That's to tell us why Pete and Tillie, Becky's parents, care anything about her getting married.) Stephanie and Eric agreed that Becky's folks had to know the truth to give them time with their child before she died. They understood CJ wanted to make Becky's dreams come true, but it could not be at the expense of her parents.

Back at the seedy apartment, Becky, CJ and Little Eric returned from a walk. While Becky left the room to change the baby's diaper, Amber told CJ they had to tell Pete and Tillie the truth. CJ would hear nothing of it. He feared they would take Becky back to Furnace Creek and stop the wedding if they knew Becky was dying. Just then, (how surprising) Becky's parents arrived. Amber introduced them to CJ just as Becky returned to the room. Tillie asked if Becky was feeling all right since she looked tired. (Becky is sporting dark circles under her eyes these days. That's a soap opera signal that someone is very sick. I suppose Tillie must watch lots of soaps in her trailer home in Furnace Creek.) Joe said they were disappointed Becky hadn't learned her lesson "last time." Becky was insulted they would think she was pregnant again and denied she was knocked up. Pete and Tillie explained they thought there must be some reason for Becky to marry a boy she hardly knew. They were proud of the way she had turned her life around. The hasty wedding sounded like something the old Becky would have done. Becky explained that she was happy now. She knew they would love CJ once they got to know him. Tillie said they only wanted CJ and Becky to postpone the wedding for a while. CJ sent ballistic and said they would not postpone the wedding. Joe said they were too young to know what they wanted. CJ insisted he knew things would be rough, but he wanted to marry Becky right away so she would know he would always be there for her. Pete and Tillie were touched by CJ's words, but remained skeptical.

Becky decided to run some wedding errands and give her parents time to "bond" with CJ. Alone with Amber and CJ, Joe asked why the two teens kept giving each other "looks." Amber said they had to be told the truth, but CJ tried to stop her. Tillie demanded to know what was going on. (Hold that thought, would ya, Tillie?)

In Brooke's office at Forrester Creations, Thorne was upset to learn that Macy had driven to Forrester in an intoxicated condition. Macy promised not to drink again because she now realized that was what Brooke wanted. Macy figured Brooke had played on her insecurities to get her to drink again and then thought she could steal Thorne away from her. Macy told Thorne that Brooke had told her their marriage was over. Thorne asked Macy how she could start drinking after she had been sober for six years. Macy insisted she had stopped before, she could stop again. Macy accused Brooke of setting her up. Thorne said Macy could not blame Brooke for her problems. Macy sarcastically snarled that Brooke had never been the problem between Stephanie and Eric or Ridge and Taylor. "She just always happened to be in the right place at the right time in the right underwear" Macy noted. (Ouch! Even drunk, Macy can come up with a good zinger.)

Macy told Brooke to leave Thorne alone or there would be consequences. Brooke asked if that was a threat. Macy said Brooke fail on her own. She was a three-time lose with the Forrester men. Macy said she and Thorne had been in love since the day they met and it would take more than Brooke's cheap seduction routines to break them up. Macy insisted to Thorne that Brooke was her problem. She begged Thorne to tell Brooke to back off and leave them alone. Macy cried that she couldn't take it anymore. As Thorne hugged his wife, he looked over her shoulder and gave Brooke a pained look. (He looked like he shouldn't have eaten the sushi at the Forrester cafeteria that day.)

In her office, Brooke suggested Thorne take the inebriated Macy home. Macy would not leave before Thorne told Brooke he would never be interested in her. Thorne told Macy that Brooke was not the issue. Brooke told Macy that Thorne would not deny his love for Brooke because it wasn't true. Macy insisted that she and Thorne had something real and would not give it up for a cheap slut like Brooke. Macy said she had been foolish to have reached out to Brooke. She said Thorne had realized Brooke would destroy him like she had ruined his father and brother. Brooke admitted that she could see that Thorne loved Macy very much. Macy told Brooke not to make any promises to stay away from Thorne because her words meant nothing. Macy warned Brooke that if she crossed her again, she would pay. (Such threats, Macy.) Thorne escorted Macy from the office and left Brooke alone to cry.

Thorne took Macy home to the beach bungalow. He expressed his disbelief that she would start drinking again. Macy said she simply slipped. Things liked that happened and she wouldn't do it again. Macy agreed when Thorne said she could not blame Brooke for her drinking. Thorne offered to call Macy's Alcoholics Anonymous counselor to discuss her problem. Macy implored Thorne not to be upset. Thorne told his wife he only wanted to help her. Macy told Thorne she didn't blame him and things would be different from now on.

As Thorne watched Macy passed out on the bed (oh, I'm sorry, she was merely resting), he called Brooke. He told her that he should have been honest with Macy from the beginning. Thorne said he wasn't going to let this drag on, but he couldn't leave Macy in her current state. Brooke agreed and they told each other "I love you."

Becky arrived at Spectra Fashions and tried on that darn expanding wedding dress with Narita, the never-before-seen seamstress. Not only did the dress fit perfectly, it had a new neckline! That Narita is a sewing wiz! Becky admired herself in the mirror and couldn't believe she was going to get married in just two days. (TWO DAYS? Last week when this soap opera day began, they were getting married in ONE WEEK! Has everyone in Los Angeles lost their calendar?)

Back at the seedy apartment, Amber told Joe and Tillie the truth. Becky had pancreatic cancer, she only had a couple of months to live and she did not know the truth about her condition. Becky's parents were devastated by the news and forbade CJ to marry their daughter. Amber explained that they had not told Becky the truth because she had been so happy. CJ had proposed to give her something beautiful to remember. Joe said he could not be a part of feeding Becky lies. CJ begged them to allow the wedding to happen. He truly loved Becky and all he had to give her was one, perfect day. He admitted he wouldn't have married Becky this soon, but he knew they were meant to be together. Joe screamed that he could not pretend that everything was all right when he knew his daughter was dying. He instructed Tillie and Amber to help him pack Becky's things. He intended to take her and Little Eric back to Furnace Creek that night.

Just as they began to leave the room, the phone rang. Amber suggested they let the answering machine get the call. It was Becky calling from Spectra. Everyone in the seedy apartment heard the message she left. She was disappointed to not catch anyone at home, but she said she had tried on the dress and it was gorgeous. She told CJ that she was so happy and although everyone was against them getting married, she was sure it was the right thing to do. After hearing the message, CJ again begged Joe and Tillie to allow Becky to marry him. Tillie turned to her husband in tears. Joe cried too as he said they would try to go along with it. Amber and Tillie cried and hugged. CJ wept as he whispered a silent "thank you" to Joe.

I am a cynic, but today's episode had be crying like a baby. I have not cried like that during a soap opera since Erica watched Mike Roy die on All My Children in 1985. Today's episode was masterfully written and superbly acted by Adrienne Frantz (Amber) and Mick Cain (CJ.) I hope Bradley Bell has signed Mr. Cain to a long term contract. It's about damn time this wonderful actor had a good story line worth his abundant talent. Let's keep him around for a long time.

It must be the next day in Los Angeles because everyone is wearing new clothes.

Kimberly visited Macy at the beach bungalow. Kimberly was upset that Macy had started drinking again. Macy said she was ashamed she had allowed Brooke to get to her. Macy assured Kimberly that Thorne had told Brooke she had behaved inappropriately. (But Macy doesn't realize he didn't correct Brooke's accusations either. Poor, poor, delusional Macy.) Macy said she should have let Thorne know what she had been feeling, but she was now confident she and Thorne were more solid than ever. Macy knew Thorne was too smart to fall for Brooke's wiles. (Uh, Thorne is a lot dumber than he looks, I'm afraid to say.) Macy said she could take Thorne leaving her, but it would kill her to see him hook up with Brooke. (Insert the theme from The Twilight Zone here.)

At that very moment in the bedroom, Thorne had called Brooke at her office. (Four previously unknown Forrester employees visited Brooke in her office today. I suppose that was to convince us that Brooke actually does do some work besides moving file folders around her office every once in a while.) Brooke asked if Thorne had told Macy the truth about his feelings for Brooke. Thorne apologized that he had not told Macy. He said he wanted to make sure Macy's drinking was under control first. Thorne did tell Brooke, however, that he would soon leave Macy. Brooke expressed pity for Macy. This situation was not Macy's fault. They exchanged "I love you's" and hung up the phone.

Thorne entered the living room and joined Kimberly in her concern for Macy. Macy said she and Thorne were doing better now than ever. Thorne disagreed and said she needed to take her drinking problem more seriously. Macy said she felt awful about losing the trust of her husband and sister. She admitted it was her own fault and said she would prove herself to them again. Thorne said he had to run some errands and left Kimberly with Macy.

Thorne arrived at Brooke's office and they embraced. (Some errand, eh Thorne?) Thorne told Brooke that she came first in his life but he had to make sure Macy was going to be all right. Brooke was anxious for them to be together. Thorne assured her it would be soon - and it would be forever. (Or until another Forrester male shows up on the scene.) The smooched noisily.

At Insomnia, Morgan confided in the Clarke that she had asked Taylor to allow Ridge to impregnate her. Clarke said Morgan could trust him not to blab the news around town. (Since when has Morgan been talking to Clarke? Oh, that's right, he tricked her into a date with him on her second day on the show. They must be bosom buddies now.) Morgan explained she wanted the father of her child to be someone she admired and respected. Clarke guessed Morgan felt more than respect for Ridge. Morgan said she did not want to steal Ridge away from Taylor. Clarke argued that Ridge and Taylor would never agree to the proposal and suggested Morgan find another tall, dark, handsome designer to sire her offspring. (Gee, I wonder who Clarke was describing?) Morgan graciously declined the offer. (Thanks, but no thanks, buddy.)

At Mr. and Mrs. Ridge Forrester's Bel Air mansion, Taylor told Ridge that Morgan had suggested he donate sperm for her baby project. At first, Ridge didn't believe Taylor and was blown away to hear that Taylor had told Morgan she would think about it. Taylor said she wasn't comfortable with the idea, but understood Morgan's situation. Taylor asked Ridge if he were single and Morgan was his friend, would he help her father a child. Ridge replied "Maybe" but Taylor didn't really think he'd go for it. Ridge thought the point was moot because he didn't think Morgan was serious.

Oh yes she is, Ridge. Morgan arrived a little while later and told the duo she was sure the three of them could make it work. She begged Ridge to consider her proposal.

Episode Date:Wednesday, May 24, 2000

At the Bel Air mansion, Ridge and Taylor told Morgan they understood her desperate desire to have a child, but Ridge said he could not be the father of her child. Morgan begged him to reconsider. She explained that she only wanted a sperm sample and a doctor would inseminate her. Taylor reminded Morgan that she previously could not handle that procedure. Morgan said it would be different this time because she would be regaining what she had lost many years ago. Ridge reiterated that he just didn't feel right about the situation. Morgan said she would have lawyers draw up papers and would even leave town if she had to. Morgan cried that she would give up anything to have a child. Taylor gently said she should not have to give up something to give birth. Ridge said he would feel strange having a child that he didn't even know. Morgan said he could be involved in the child's life if he wished. She would agree to any terms. She pleaded with Ridge to think about it some more. Morgan explained she would be ovulating in a few days. (Hey, didn't she try to get inseminated two days ago? Again, I'm no expert on women's reproductive cycles, but I think she'd be needing to wait a month, no? Are they trying to tell me a month has passed? Do they think I don't pay attention?) Taylor encouraged Morgan not to drag out the situation. Ridge said he didn't want to hurt Morgan and it had nothing to do with them trusting her. Morgan said they would not regret it if they agreed to her plan. Taylor finally put her foot down and said "I have no doubt you'd make a wonderful mother. You just can't be the mother of my husband's child. I'm sorry."

"So am I" replied Morgan.

At Forrester Creations, Brooke and Thorne made out in her office. Thorne was impressed that Brooke had never given up hope of them being together. They agreed the truth would devastate Macy but Thorne said he would leave his wife in two weeks at a maximum. (If you use Morgan's pregnancy calendar, you could pack your bags today.) Brooke said their true feelings had been tested over and over by many traumas. She was sure that nothing could possibly break them up. Thorne regretted dragging Macy into the mess. Brooke assured him they would both help Macy stay sober. Thorne departed to return home to meet with Macy and her counselor.

After Thorne left, Rick visited his mother and was happy, but somewhat skeptical, to hear that Thorne was going to leave Macy.

Sally visited Macy at the beach bungalow. She was upset her daughter had been drinking and wasn't too happy to learn that Thorne was probably at work with Brooke. Macy insisted she could take care of herself. Thorne had not put the drink in her hand. Sally retorted that he had allowed Brooke Logan to do that dirty deed for him. Macy said she would not let Brooke destroy her marriage. Sally blamed Macy's insecurities on Thorne not being honest with Macy about what had transpired in Venice. Sally was worried that Brooke still had designs on Thorne.

"Brooke Logan is a vicious, cunning seductress" Macy intoned but was certain Thorne would not fall for her.

John, Macy's Alcoholic's Anonymous counselor, arrived and Sally prepared to leave. On her way out the door, she bumped into Thorne. Sally was cold to her son-in-law and told him he had better not let Macy down.
