My deepest apologies, dear readers. Due to technical difficulties, I
was not able to view The Bold and the Beauiful today. (Honestly, the technical
difficulty consisted of me forgetting to turn the VCR off last evening.
The timer did not work today. I came home from work and screamed at the
site of the "on" light illuminated on my VCR.) This is the first
time this has happened since last May, so I shouldn't be too hard on myself.
Episode Date: Wednesday, February 2,

Judging from today's episode, I don't think we missed much yesterday
when my VCR failed me. Today was filled with characters re-hashing what
has already happened and repeating themselves repeatedly. (Get it?)
Ridge walked through his front door and was greeted energetically by
Taylor. She told her husband she had talked to Stephanie on the telephone.
It seemed Stephanie was all bent out of shape at the thought of Brooke being
involved with Thorne. Taylor said she had tried to comfort her mother-in-law's
fears but was scared about how fragile Stephanie had sounded. All Ridge
could say was that Brooke and Thorne would no longer be seeing each other.
Taylor suggested they tell Stephanie how they had broken the two love birds
up. Ridge nixed that idea. They agreed Stephanie could not fight any tough
battles these days. Taylor learned that Stephanie was still counting on
Macy and Thorne getting married. Taylor reminded her husband that Thorne
dumping Brooke did not guarantee he would reunite with Macy. They hoped
their actions in Venice would be enough to keep Brooke out of Thorne's life.
Over at Spectra Fashions, Sally, Adam and Darla looked on as Clarke
adjusted the hem on a dress from their new fashion line, Millennium 2000.
(What kind of silly name is that? And quite frankly, the cheesy gowns we
saw were about as attractive as the pink polyester frock my date to the
senior prom, Donna Reiter, wore in 1980.) The gang was worried they had
not heard from Macy since she left for Venice. Darla checked the voice mail
(that action was not clear) and said Macy had indeed left a message and
said she was on her way home. They all feared Thorne had hurt Macy again.
Adam learned that Brooke was in Venice with Thorne. He hoped Macy had learned
the truth and dumped Thorne. Darla said Macy sounded fine on the answering
machine. Sally Spec-ulated that Macy was perhaps covering to protect Stephanie
from the truth. La Spectra indicated they should all stay out of the Forrester
family traumas. Adam agreed. Rick and had hurt Kimberly and Thorne had hurt
Macy. He was glad they were done with the evil Forresters. Adam said Brooke
and Thorne deserved each other.
Meanwhile, Thorne was on a plane headed for Los Angeles. He remembered
seeing Brooke and Ridge making out on the bed. He winced with pain. Thorne
called Megan from the plane and told her to have some sales figure ready
for him when he returned to the office. Thorne asked the intrepid secretary
not to mention his plans to Brooke. (Fat chance of that, buddy.)
At Brooke's house, Brooke was screaming at Eric how much she hated him
for what he had done to her relationship with Thorne. Eric admitted the
entire scheme had been his idea. He argued that Brooke had left him no choice.
Brooke showed Eric her engagement ring and told him she was certain his
actions would only draw Thorne closer to her when he learned the truth.
She was ashamed she had fallen for Ridge's manipulations. She was astounded
that Eric only cared about Stephanie's health. She asked if he ever considered
how Thorne would feel about Eric's meddling. Eric said he did what he had
to do to protect his entire family. They were interrupted by Megan calling
to tell Brooke that Thorne was on his way home. (I knew that Megan couldn't
keep her mouth shut!) Brooke screamed at Eric that she was going to marry
Thorne and he couldn't stop her as she stomped out the door.
Brooke arrived at Thorne's beach bungalow and let herself in. She gazed
at a photo of her and the hunky Forrester as a tear trickled down her cheek.
(Damn! She's good.) The telephone rang and Brooke answered it. It was her
sister, Katie, saying she had gotten Brooke's message and was staying with
Bridgette. Katie offered words of encouragement that Brooke could win Thorne
back. Brooke hung up the phone when she heard a car door. She shivered with
anticipation as she watched the door knob turn.

At the Fairchild residence, Adam beamed with pride as he viewed photos
of Kimberly's modeling assignment in Venice. He admitted that she had proved
him wrong. She was fantastic at being a model. Kimberly quietly admitted
to her father that she had hoped something would happen for her and Rick
in Venice. She was now crushed when she realized she and Rick would never
be together. Rick would never leave his son - not for anyone. Kimberly said
she had told Rick to get on with his life and she had quit her modeling
position at Forrester Creations. Adam held his daughter as she cried over
her loss.
At Stephanie's guest house, Rick arrived home. He entered and stared
longingly at Little Eric's empty crib. He then gazed at a framed photo of
his family. As Rick cursed Amber's deception, he threw the photo against
the wall. The frame shattered into bits and pieces. (Just like Rick's life,
how poetic). Rick then answered a knock on the door. It was Taylor. She
explained she had stopped by to talk with Stephanie and heard a "commotion"
at the guest house. (Yeah, right. She heard a picture frame breaking. What
does she have - a Jamie Sommers bionic ear?) She spied the broken mess and
asked if Rick was alright. Rick explained that Amber and Tawny were still
in Venice and he didn't ever want to see either one of them again. Sensing
something was not right (she is a doctor, you know) Taylor asked Rick if
he wanted to talk about his problems. Rick went off that Amber had been
lying to him. Everyone had warned him about Amber, but he had defended
her. He felt like a fool. What she had done to him was unforgivable. Taylor
suspected Brooke was behind Rick's feelings, but Rick said Amber had told
him the truth. His marriage was over. Taylor reminded Rick he had to remember
his son. Rick broke the news that Little Eric was not his son. Taylor immediately
asked if Raymond was the father. Rick dropped the bombshell that Little
Eric was Becky's baby! Taylor was dumbfounded. (That's a good word you don't
get to use much. Dumbfounded.)
At Ridge's house, Eric told his older son that Brooke was furious at
them for deceiving her and she expected Thorne to forgive her when she told
him the entire story. Ridge was feeling badly for his role in hurting Brooke.
Eric explained they had to act to put an end to Brooke and Thorne's relationship
in order to save Stephanie's life. (That's spreading in on a little thick,
don't you think?) Ridge said the matter was not black and white. Brooke
had not immediately jumped into his arms in the hotel room. She had struggled
with her feelings. Ridge wondered if Brooke truly did love his brother.
Eric said the point was that she did respond. It didn't matter how she really
felt because the love affair was doomed no matter what. They had to stop
it before everyone had gotten hurt.
Thorne got into a car with a driver. The driver asked "Will we be
making anymore stops?" (Anymore? Does that mean they had stopped somewhere
already? If so, where was it? Or did the driver mean to ask if they would
be stopping after this pick up at the airport? I don't mean to over-analyze
this, but I really got burned on that dream sequence when Stephanie had
her second stroke and I'm not going to be fooled again.) Thorne instructed
the driver to take him home.
Meanwhile at Thorne's house, Brooke waited anxiously for the person to
open the door. They knocked, however. Brooke answered the door to find Megan
who was dropping off the sale reports Thorne had asked for. Megan quizzed
Brooke if there was a problem. Brooke showed Megan her engagement ring.
Megan asked why there seemed to be trouble if Brooke and Thorne were engaged.
Brooke told her there had been a misunderstanding and she would fill her
in once she had a chance to straighten things out with Thorne. Megan wished
Brooke luck and left.
Thorne arrived home mere seconds later and asked Brooke what the hell
she was doing there. Brooke said she knew what Thorne had seen and she wanted
to explain what had happened. Thorne didn't want to hear it. Thorne screamed
that he was sorry he had ever gotten involved with Brooke. He had forsaken
his family for her. Eric and Ridge had warned him not to fall for Brooke
but he ignored them. She had sworn that she was over Ridge and she had obviously
lied. He asked how Brooke could betray him in that way. Brooke insisted
she loved Thorne. Thorne ordered her out of his house and out of his life.
Brooke refused to leave until he listened to what she had to say.
Talk all you want, honey. I don't think it's really going to make much
difference at this point. Maybe you could borrow Amber's leather dominatrix
outfit. I think Thorne might fall for it a little more easily than Rick
these days.
Episode Date: Friday, February 4, 2000
At the Forrester mansion, Eric chatted with Ridge on the telephone about
Brooke and Thorne. (What else?) Eric paused long enough to talk to Dottie,
Stephanie's physical therapist, as she was leaving. Dottie said Stephanie
was doing well and was motivated to improve so she could be with her family.
After Dottie left, Eric resumed his conversation with Ridge. Eric was convinced
they had done the right thing by breaking up Thorne and Brooke. Ridge worried
that Thorne might indeed forgive Brooke if she told how they had set her
up. Eric said he would not let that happen.
But at Thorne's house, Brooke continued to protest that she loved Thorne,
not Ridge. Thorne didn't believe her and ordered her to leave. Brooke screamed
that it was a set up! She explained that Ridge and Taylor had been acting
the entire time. They had planned their arguments on the plane and in the
restaurant. Brooke relayed how Ridge had tried to seduce her but his attempt
failed. Brooke regretted Thorne had seen one "stupid" kiss but
he had not seen that she had pushed Ridge away and told him she loved Thorne.
Brooke told her beloved the entire ruse was Eric's plan to break them apart.
Thorne did not want to believe his family would hurt him in that way. Brooke
tried to convince him that she had no interest in Ridge. In fact, after
what he did, she hated Ridge. She was sorry for all the pain Thorne had
endured but nothing could keep them apart. Brooke hugged her hunky lover
but Thorne continued to look dubious.
Becky and Amber were on a plane bound for Los Angeles with Little Eric.
Amber thanked Becky for accompanying her home so the Forresters could say
good bye to the baby. Becky was surprised that Amber would even want to
face the Forrester family. Amber said they could not make her feel any worse
than she already did. Becky reassured Amber that she was not a bad person.
At first, Becky had hated Amber for what she had done but now she understood.
Becky suggested that perhaps Rick would eventually feel the same way. Becky
convinced Amber to try and call Rick. There was no answer.
There was no answer because Rick knew it would be Amber trying to lie
her way out of the mess she was in. As he continued his tale to Taylor,
Rick explained how his own son had been stillborn in furnace Creek. Taylor
comforted Rick and told him she was sorry. Rick said the baby switching
scheme had been Tawny's idea. Rick told his sister-in-law that Becky intended
to take her baby to Paris with her. Rick said he would not let that happen.
Even if he was not Little Eric's father, he was the baby's daddy. He referred
to Amber as his "ex-wife." Rick remembered all the clues of Amber's
odd behavior and blamed himself for not knowing what Amber was capable of.
Taylor said no one could have suspected something this horrible could happen.
Rick said he knew one person who did know. That led Taylor to ask Rick if
he had thought about what this revelation might mean for his relationship
with Kimberly. He could now be a regular teenager in love. Rick had not
even considered that fact yet, but said he couldn't wait to tell the entire
story to Kimberly.
Back at the Fairchild house, Kimberly asked her father why it hurt so
bad if both she and Rick were doing the right thing. She was sure she could
move on with her life, but worried that Rick would always be stuck in his
loveless marriage. Assured by Kimberly that she would be all right, Adam
left for work. (In the middle of the evening?) No sooner had he left than
the phone rang. It was Amber! She asked to speak to Rick. Kimberly was stunned.
She told Amber she assumed Rick was on his honeymoon with her (Amber.) Amber
turned pale as a ghost and hung up the phone. She worried that she didn't
have a home to return to and she had told Kimberly something was going on
with her and Rick. Kimberly hung up the phone and realized the same thing.
Back at Stephanie's guest house, Taylor continued to comfort Rick when
Kimberly knocked on the door. Taylor excused herself by saying "I'll
leave. You've waited for this moment long enough." As Taylor left,
Kimberly asked Rick what was going on.
Oh, child! You are in for the treat of your life.
Episode Date: Monday, February 7, 2000
At Forrester Creations, Eric instructed Megan to deliver some documents
to Brooke that very night. Megan said she doubted Brooke would be home.
Eric said if Brooke was at Thorne's place, Thorne would kick her out. Megan
asked why Eric and Ridge were so against Brooke being with Thorne. Eric
basically told the secretary to mind her own business. But, of course, Eric
did go on to explain that Brooke was only fooling herself and everyone else.
Every man she became involved with was only a substitute for Ridge.
Taylor returned to her house, shaken by the news Rick had told her. She
turned down a glass of wine Ridge offered her. (If I was married to Ridge,
I think I'd need to drink to stay sane.) Taylor told her husband that Rick
and Amber had broken up. Taylor related the entire baby switching scheme
Amber and her mother had concocted. Taylor had to admit that Brooke had
been right all along about Amber keeping a secret. They agreed that Brooke
would have to put her feelings about Thorne aside to be there for her son.
Ridge wanted to go to Rick's place to help him out. Taylor said Kimberly
was there. Rick was now free to be a young man without so many concerns.
At the guest house, Rick told Kimberly his honeymoon and his marriage
were over. He told his true love that she had been right all along. Amber
had admitted she had a secret and he never wanted to see her again. Kimberly
was elated to hear the news but reminded Rick he would have some contact
with Amber because of their son. Rick then spilled the beans about Little
Eric being Becky's son, how Rick's son had been stillborn and buried in
the desert and how Tawny and Amber had lied to everyone - including Becky.
Rick explained that Becky now wanted her son back. He didn't know how he
would be able to give up the baby he had grown to love. Kimberly comforted
Rick and told him Becky would surely allow him to be a part of her son's
life. Kimberly then told Rick to focus on the fact that he was now free
of Amber. Neither of them could understand how one person could be so evil.
Rick then turned off the lights. He told Kimberly he didn't know if Amber
was still in Venice. He said he had to come home to see Kimberly. (Hey,
wait a minute. In Friday's episode Rick told Taylor that he hadn't even
considered what Amber's revelation meant for him and Kimberly. Which one
is it?) Rick and Kimberly stood in the doorway between the living room and
the bedroom and kissed passionately. Rick told Kimberly that he loved her.
As the continued their wet, sloppy smooching, the camera panned down their
bodies. As it reached the floor, Kimberly's strand of pearls broke and scattered
all over the floor! (Now what was that supposed to mean?)
Over in Thorne's beach bungalow, Brooke told her beloved that what Eric
and Ridge had pulled on them was disgusting and they weren't even sorry.
Thorne appeared to be in a state of shock. He said he would never forgive
his family for what they had done to break up his relationship with Brooke.
Brooke prattled on and on about the plan and how they had carried it out.
When she was finished she told Thorne she wanted things to go back to the
way they had been. Thorne startled Brooke by telling her they could never
go back. He told her they were finished. Even if it had been a trick, Brooke
had fallen for it. Thorne now knew he was just a substitute for Ridge. Brooke
said Ridge was her past and Thorne was her future. Thorne said he had wanted
to believe Brooke, but he had seen her on the bed with Ridge. Brooke admitted
she was weak, but Ridge had played on her vulnerabilities. She begged Thorne
not to let his family tear them apart. Thorne said Ridge had gone after
his proof and had gotten it.
"It only proves Ridge is slime that never deserved my love in the
first place" Brooke cried. Brooke said she knew Thorne still loved
her. She showed him that she was still wearing the engagement ring he had
given her in Venice. Thorne could barely look at Brooke as he asked her
to take the ring off. What it had stood for no longer existed. Brooke agreed
to take off the ring because she knew he would one day give it back to her.
She handed him the ring.
Just then Macy walked in the door complaining about how cold it was.
Macy was disgusted to see a teary-eyed Brooke in Thorne's living room. "What
are you doing here?" asked Macy. Brooke was perplexed.

2000
Today was the kind of episode I live for.
Rick and Kimberly continued to kiss in the guest house. (Now I was thinking
Kimberly's pearls breaking yesterday might have some deep meaning. Obviously,
it did not mean she was losing her virginity because they were still kissing
today. Perhaps it just signified that Rick was now free of the bonds that
had kept the star-crossed duo apart.) Kimberly told Rick she had never wished
he would lose his son. He now had two children to mourn, but he didn't have
to do it alone. They kissed some more. Rick couldn't believe how great it
felt to kiss Kimberly without feeling guilty. Kimberly said he was now free
to do and be whatever he wanted. Then they sucked face some more. (I was
hoping neither of them would slip and fall on one of the pearls from Kimberly's
broken necklace.)
Kimberly suggested they tell Brooke the good news right away. Rick first
wanted to erase Amber from his life. Rick gathered up Amber's belongings
(which appeared to be no more than some framed photographs, a bottle of
shampoo from the bathroom and six pairs of pants) in a blanket from the
bed, carried the bundle to the door and threw them in the courtyard. It
was so prophetic that the junk landed right at Amber's feet. Rick couldn't
believe Amber would come back to their home. Amber said she felt bad and
wanted to talk to Rick. He insisted there was nothing more to say. Amber
assumed Kimberly was happy this had happened. Kimberly assured Amber she
was not at all happy Rick was in so much pain. Amber professed her love
for Rick. Rick told her he didn't care. He ordered her to leave. He took
off his wedding ring and threw it on the pile of Amber's refuse. As he slammed
the door, Amber crumpled on the pile of slacks in tears.
At the Forrester mansion, Eric was angry that Sally had told Macy that
Thorne was involved with Brooke. Eric was then shocked to learn that Macy
had felt sorry for Thorne and had flown to Venice to warn him that a relationship
with Brooke would only cause him heartache. Eric was surprised that Macy
would care about Thorne's well being after he had hurt her. Sally said her
daughter was only concerned about Thorne's feelings. They discussed that
neither parent had heard from their children. Eric thought Macy's trip to
Italy may have done some good.
At Thorne's place, Brooke told Macy to leave. Thorne said Macy could
stay. Macy said told her nemesis she knew all about the sordid affair Brooke
and Thorne had. Macy didn't care what had happened because Thorne had made
his decision. Brooke was shocked to learn Macy had been in Venice. Macy
told Brooke how she had found Thorne standing in the rain. Macy didn't know
of Brooke's betrayal at the time. She told Thorne to beware of Brooke and
left. Macy said she went to the airport and Thorne followed her there. Brooke
begged Thorne not to be angry. Thorne said he wasn't angry, he had just
woken up.
Macy then said things had worked out the way they should. Brooke asked
Thorne if he had slept with Macy. Macy smirked as she pointed out everything
with Brooke was about sex. Macy continued her saga by saying she and Thorne
had taken the first flight out of Venice. They went to Amsterdam. It had
been a wonderful trip. They felt like they were kids again. Macy didn't want it to end. Thorne told her it didn't have to. (Now you remember
yesterday that Macy had said it was cold. During her conversation with Brooke,
she took of her coat, but still had her gloves on.) Brooke was in a panic
at that point. What did Macy mean it didn't have to end. Macy took off her
gloves and revealed a RING!!! Brooke at first assumed it was an engagement
ring, but Macy set her straight. It was a WEDDING RING! Macy and Thorne
were married in Amsterdam! Brooke begged Thorne to admit that he still loved
her. Thorne told Brooke to leave. She stumbled out the door and collapsed
in tears on the sidewalk. Macy comforted Thorne and left him alone to get
ready for bed. Thorne gazed at the ring Brooke had returned and pondered.
(What he was pondering we may never know.)

Brooke returned to her office the next day. Megan immediately entered
under the pretense of bringing a file folder but she started asking what
had happened with Thorne. When Brooke hedged in answering, Megan noticed
Brooke was no longer wearing an engagement ring. Brooke told Megan the story
of Eric and Ridge's plan and how Thorne had seen her in bed with Ridge.
Brooke then explained that not only had Thorne broken it off with her, he
had married Macy! Megan was incredulous. Megan was sure Thorne would come
to his senses and get back together with Brooke. Brooke wasn't to sure.
She was certain Thorne loved her but would do his best to make his marriage
to Macy (his THIRD marriage to Macy) succeed. Brooke was certain their families
would support the union. Brooke decided she had to get Thorne to realize
all he had given up. She didn't want him to "settle in" to his
marriage with Macy. Brooke said she was ready to do battle - and she did
not intend to lose.
Darla arrived in Sally's office at Spectra Fashions and told Sally, Adam
and Clarke that Macy had left another message on the answering machine telling
them she was home and spending the night at Thorne's. Sally was ecstatic
at the news. She knew something wonderful had happened in Venice. Sally
gathered up her horde and insisted they go to Thorne's right away.
At Thorne's bungalow, Macy prepared some morning coffee. She and Thorne
kissed good morning. Macy said she was very happy and filled with hope.
Macy said they should tell their families the news as soon as possible.
But suddenly there was a knock on the door. Sally was banging away and yoo-hooing
for Thorne and Macy to answer the door. The Spectra clan (sans CJ) stumbled
in. Sally could tell by Macy's "glow" that they had wed. Macy
proved it was true by showing her wedding ring. Everyone expressed their
congratulations. Even Adam said he was happy if Macy was happy. At Sally's
urging, Macy told the tale of finding Thorne in the rain, telling him to
beware of Brooke, returning to the airport, Thorne finding her there, them
flying to Amsterdam and getting married. Sally knew there was someone else
that would be happy to hear the news.
At the Forrester mansion, Eric told Ridge that Stephanie was not doing
too well. Since they had not heard from Thorne, she had convinced herself
he was involved with Brooke. Eric wondered if Brooke had explained her side
of the Venice seduction and if Thorne had taken her back. Ridge didn't think
Thorne would do such a thing after the scene he had witnessed in Venice.
Their conversation was cut short by a telephone call from Sally. She insisted
Eric bring Stephanie to Thorne's place immediately. There was a big surprise
for them.
Eric and Stephanie arrived at Thorne's house. Sally greeted them at
the door and presented Mr. and Mrs. Thorne Forrester. Stephanie was pleased
as punch. She hugged Thorne and told him he had done the right thing. Merriment
and congratulations ensued. Thorne asked to speak to Eric alone. They went
into the bedroom where Thorne told his father he knew that Eric, Ridge and
Taylor were responsible for what happened in Venice. Eric insisted Brooke
was responsible for what Thorne had seen. Eric said he regretted hurting
Thorne, but had to save him from Brooke. He was certain Brooke would eventually
turn to Ridge again someday. Eric told his son that deep down inside he
knew the same thing and married Macy because he knew she truly loved him.
Thorne was about to explode with anger but they were interrupted by the
revelers in the other room wanting to celebrate. With the other family members
around, Eric wanted to propose a toast. Thorne interrupted his father and
announced he had something to say.
Yes, what is it Thorne? Speak up, boy. Don't keep us waiting.
Episode Date: Thursday, February 10,

Amber and Becky looked at a ratty apartment with an overweight landlord.
Amber decided to take the dingy place because she couldn't afford anything
else. When Mr. Roper left, Amber told Becky how angry Rick was about her
deceit. Amber still felt she was getting off easy compared to what Rick
was going through. Amber said she had to go to the Forrester mansion and
tell the family the entire story herself. Rick should not have to do it.
Becky feared how the Forresters would react. Amber knew the risks but said
it had been her decision to follow her mother's advice. It was the right
thing for her to face the music. She owed Rick and the entire family an
explanation. Her actions had been repulsive. They would want to know why
she had lied about Little Eric. Amber was the only one that could answer
that question.
(It was noted that Becky did make a quick call to Suzanne in Paris to
explain her absence from work. I was wondering how she could take so much
time off.)
Ridge and Taylor stopped by the Forrester house to check on Rick. The
offered their support. Rick was afraid Ridge would say "I told you
so." Ridge said he had made a lot of mistakes in his life, too. At
least Rick's mistake had been out of a sense of honor and duty. Rick was
afraid of telling the entire family the truth. Ridge offered to tell them
instead, but Rick said it was his responsibility.
At his beach house, Thorne began to say what he wanted to start yesterday!
He said he knew how much this marriage meant to his mother. Eric interrupted
and said nothing meant more to him than his children's happiness. He said
he knew Thorne had chosen to marry Macy because of the years of love and
devotion they shared. The gathered crowd was all misty eyed, but Thorne
said he wanted to talk about what had happened in Venice. Macy asked what
more he wanted to discuss. (Does she not know that Thorne saw Brooke kissing
Ridge?)
But they were interrupted by a phone call. Brooke had been looking at
photos of her and Thorne in Venice. (Who took all those publicity shots
of the two of them? Did Giovanni follow them around?) She knew she had to
act and she called Thorne. Thorne took the portable phone into his bedroom.
Brooke defended her actions and asked Thorne to remember all they had shared.
She explained she had no feelings for Ridge. She hated him. Thorne was suspicious
that her fervent emotions were an overcompensation for her true feelings.
Brooke told Thorne that if he truly loved Macy to stay married to her and
be happy. But Brooke was confident he really loved her. She encouraged Thorne
to tell the gathered guests that everything in Venice had been an act. Now
it was Eric's turn to interrupt. He came into the bedroom and said Stephanie
had something special to show everyone. Thorne hung up on Brooke.
In the living room Stephanie announced that a miracle had happened that
very day. With Eric's help she rose to her feet and walked to Macy! Glory
Hallelujah! It's a miracle! La Forrester welcomed Macy to the Forrester
family. She then turned to Thorne and told him how happy he had made her.
"I know Venice is a tempting city. If you had come back with anyone
but Macy, this never would have happened. Do you understand? You've given
me my life back" Stephanie whispered as she embraced her son and all
onlookers cried with joy.
Do I hear an "Amen"?

In her pathetic, new apartment, Amber told Becky she planned to tell
the Forresters the truth about the baby switching scheme. Becky suggested
she first talk to a lawyer because she could be in a lot of trouble for
what she had done. Amber said she deserved to be in trouble and she was
certain she would survive.
Over at the Forrester mansion, Rick was wondering aloud how he could
tell his family the awful news. Amber called and said she wanted to help
him break the news to his family. If she truly wanted to help, Rick suggested
she never call him again and leave town forever as he slammed the phone
in her ear.
Back at the flea-bag apartment, Becky offered to accompany Amber for
support. She thought the Forresters would like to say good-bye to the baby
and his presence might keep them from getting too angry. They both knew
how upset Stephanie would be upon hearing the news. She had defended Amber
to the family and had grown so attached to Little Eric. Amber felt horrible
she had betrayed her sole supporter in the Forrester clan. Amber knew the
family would never be able to accept what she had done, but she knew in
her heart that Rick would need her help. They left for the Forrester place.
Brooke opened a file folder in her office. Kimberly entered and announced
that Rick and Amber's marriage was over. They had been right. Amber had
been keeping a secret and it was horrible. Brooke wanted all the juicy details
but Kimberly insisted that Rick wanted to tell the family himself. Kimberly
said Rick was waiting for Brooke at Stephanie's house.
In his office, Eric offered a toast to Taylor and Ridge for helping to
break up Brooke and Thorne. Taylor and Ridge were surprised to hear that
Thorne had already married Macy and were pleased to hear that Stephanie
had walked a few steps. Ridge said they had to interrupt the celebration
with some bad news. Rick had something he needed to tell his father. At
that moment, Brooke stormed into Eric's office and wanted to know what he
knew about their son. Eric said he was clueless (that's an understatement)
but Ridge and Taylor said it was serious. Brooke was furious they knew more
about her son's life than she did. Rick called as the four were arguing
and asked Brooke and Eric to come to Stephanie's right away. Ridge suggested
Taylor go along to help.
"He has his mother. He doesn't need some quack psychiatrist"
Brooke sniped. (Good one, girl.) But Taylor went along anyway.
Ridge stayed behind in Eric's office. He was joined by Kimberly who was
worried about Rick and wished she could be there for him. Ridge suggested
she go help Rick out even if he hadn't invited her. Kimberly knew telling
his family the truth about Little Eric would be the hardest thing Rick had
ever done.
Brooke, Eric and Taylor showed up at Forrester house. (Stephanie couldn't
be there because she was at physical therapy.) Eric assured his son whatever
the problem was, they would all face it as a family. Rick started to tell
them something unbelievable had happened in Venice. He had thought he and
Amber were making a go of their marriage, but it had all been a lie. Amber
and Becky then walked through the front door. Rick went ballistic. He ordered
Amber to leave. She said she had to come because everything was her fault.
She turned to Brooke and Eric and said "There's something you should
know. Something I did to your son. Something unforgivable."
Now that's what I call a Friday cliffhanger!
Episode Date: Monday, February 14,
2000
In Sally's office at Spectra Fashions, Kimberly told La Spectra and
her father about Amber's baby switching scheme. Sally and Adam were enraptured
as they listened and learned that Becky now wanted her baby back and Rick
had thrown Amber out on her ear. Kimberly railed against Amber and how badly
she had hurt Rick and kept him from a normal teenage life. Sally hypothesized
that Amber had never known kindness and acceptance as a child and, once
she found it with the Forrester family, she could not give it up. Sally
said she almost felt sorry for Amber because the Forresters would make her
life a living hell. Kimberly didn't feel sorry for Amber. She also said
the whole mess was far from over because the baby's future was still undecided.
Adam thought the Forresters would just sweep the whole incident under the
rug. Sally disagreed. They would not let anyone betray them and get away
with it.
Stephanie was in a medical office with Dottie, the physical therapist.
Dottie was impressed with Stephanie's progress. Stephanie said she was the
happiest she had ever been because Thorne was married to Macy and Rick and
Amber would soon be home with her step-grandson. Stephanie shared family
photos with Dottie and then left for home.
But all hell was breaking loose at the Forrester mansion. Brooke yelled
at Amber and told her to get out. Eric agreed, they did not want to hear
anything she would have to say. He ordered her to leave and to leave Little
Eric with Rick. Amber said she could not do that. Rick told Amber he didn't
want her around but Amber insisted he needed her. Taylor also suggested
Amber leave since the whole scene could get quite ugly. Amber said she knew
that, but she had come to admit the truth about the baby. Eric jumped to
the conclusion that Little Eric was physically ill. He insisted he hold
his grandson to check him out.
"He isn't your grandson" Amber finally admitted. Eric assumed
she was lying since her marriage to Rick was ending. Amber said she was
telling the truth. She had admitted the entire story to Rick in Venice.
Amber told how their baby had been stillborn in Furnace Creek, how Becky
had given birth at the same time, how Tawny had intercepted that baby on
the way to social services and convinced Amber to pass him off as her own
child and how she didn't want to go along with the scheme but upon seeing
how happy Rick was when she arrived with the baby she decided to let him
think it was his son. Brooke and Eric were stunned and immediately comforted
their son over his loss. Rick apologized for not listening to everyone's
warning about Amber, but Brooke and Eric assured Rick he was not responsible
for any of this mess. Rick cried that even though Little Eric was not his
son, he still loved him.
Eric made it clear that they would still provide for the baby. Becky
said that would not be necessary because she was taking him back to Paris.
She said she had a great life now thanks to the generosity of the Forrester
family. Becky apologized to Rick for not telling him the truth when she
learned it herself. But at the time she agreed with Amber that her baby
would have a better life with the Forrester family.
Brooke didn't buy any of the excuses the Moore cousins were spinning.
Brooke told Amber she hated her for hurting Rick. She and Eric accused Amber
of using the innocent baby as bait to hang onto her place in the Forrester
family. Amber insisted she only wanted to provide Little Eric with the kind
of life she didn't have as a child. Eric laughed at Amber's attempt at compassion.
He thanked God Amber was now out of their lives. He told her to leave the
property and never return.
Amber said she first wanted to discuss the matter with Stephanie. Eric
said she was to go no where near his wife. Just as Becky and Amber started
to leave, Stephanie walked through the front door. Stephanie was ecstatic
to see the entire family gathered in her living room. Amber was happy to
see Stephanie walking. She said she wanted to talk to Steph. Even though
Eric insisted Amber had to leave, Stephanie resisted. She could tell something
was wrong and asked Amber what the problem was.
Such drama!

At Forrester Creations, Megan talked to a young woman at the reception
desk. The woman wanted to talk to Brooke. Upon learning Brooke would not
return until tomorrow, the lady turned to leave. Ridge came out of his office
and recognized her. He called her Morgan. (It's really Annie from Sunset
Beach. But since that was cancelled Susan Buxton, the actress, needed something
to do with her free time. I guess she decided to apply for a job at Forrester.)
Morgan didn't seem too interested in speaking to Ridge. He wanted to know
how she was doing. He hadn't seen her in many years. Morgan cut the conversation
short and left on an elevator across from Megan's desk that had never existed
before today.
At the Fairchild residence, Kimberly told CJ about Amber's baby switching
scheme. CJ freaked that Amber could have lied to everyone for such a long
time. They agreed that Stephanie would be plenty mad when she learned the
truth. As they each guzzled a soft drink, CJ asked Kimberly if she was glad
Rick was now free. Kimberly said it would take a lot for Rick to get over
this trauma. They both knew Amber would end up with nothing. (And can I
point out that Kimberly's house is different than it used to be. The front
door used to be the center of the set with a fireplace on the left and the
kitchen on the right. NOW, the kitchen is the center with the front door
on the left and the fireplace on the right. How did that happen? Did Adam
do a little home improvement while Kimberly was away in Venice?)
Back at the Forrester house, Amber told Stephanie she had done a bad
thing. Eric was concerned that Stephanie could suffer a setback and Taylor
insisted Becky take Little Eric out of the room for Helen to care for. (While
I'm setting up the scene, I also noticed Taylor was sporting some long locks
down her back. She must have spent some time in the Forrester wig department
getting some new extensions. You are looking fierce, girl.) Taylor encouraged
Stephanie to keep calm as Brooke screamed that Stephanie's little protegee
had lied to all of them.
Amber then admitted that her baby had died in Furnace Creek and Little
Eric was Becky's son. Stephanie was stunned. She asked Amber how she could
have done such a thing. Amber explained she was afraid of losing Rick and
the love she had come to know with the Forresters. Eric asked Amber to leave,
but Brooke interrupted the exit by blaming Stephanie for helping Amber ruin
Rick's life. Becky defended Amber's actions by saying they had both agreed
Little Eric would have a great life with the Forrester family. When Stephanie
learned Becky intended to take the baby back to Paris, she nearly had another
stroke. (Literally, not figuratively) Taylor and her new hair extensions
calmed her down. Rick told Stephanie not to be mad at herself for trusting
Amber.
Stephanie then told Amber how upset she was. Stephanie felt used and
betrayed. As Amber apologized over and over, Stephanie said that sorry didn't
cut it. Stephanie said she had accepted Amber as her daughter and now she
didn't want to talk to her or ever see her again. She called Amber a fool
for having thrown away the chance at a great life. Amber protested that
her love and admiration for Stephanie were sincere, but her pleas fell on
deaf ears. (Figuratively, not literally.)
Eric told Amber to leave and threatened to physically throw her out of
the house. But Amber said she had something else to say and they all had
to listen. (You know, I'm getting really tired of this. Let's move it along,
shall we?)

A t Mannequins (cheesy restaurant and bar), Clarke told Giovanni about
Amber's baby switching scheme as they shared a drink. Giovanni was happy
with the news because Rick was now available to date Kimberly and she would
not feel the need to quit her modeling job. As they talked, that Morgan
chick we met yesterday came into the bar. Giovanni was instantly smitten.
Clarke recognized her as Morgan DeWitt. He told Giovanni she had been a
famous model and then disappeared for several years. There had been rumors
she had been in rehab, a cult or had even died. She was now back on the
scene as a hot designer. Giovanni went to the bar and tried a few lame pick-up
lines on Morgan. Clarke joined the twosome. There was no need for introductions
as Morgan told the gentlemen she was well aware of both their talent and
their reputations. They wanted to buy her a drink, but she decided to leave
instead. (Oh, how very mysterious.)
At Spectra Fashions, Sally was glad when CJ showed up. She had been
worried about him. (We haven't seen in a month, Sally, why are you worried
now?) CJ told his mother he was devastated to learn of Amber's lies. She
had taken advantage of Rick doing the right thing. CJ felt he had been used
by her, too. CJ said that he believed Amber did truly love Rick, but Sally
reminded her son of all the trouble Amber had caused for Rick. CJ insisted
that he no longer considered Amber a friend. Sally was glad to hear that
but said she had known many people just like Amber through the years. She
knew Amber would land on her feet.
Back at the Forresters, Eric screamed that they did not want to listen
to anything further Amber might have to say. Brooke picked up the phone
and started to call the police. Becky begged them not to jail Amber for
Little Eric's sake. She was the only mother he had ever known and Becky
needed her help. Amber stated that after this encounter, the Forresters
would never have to see her again. She said she would get a lawyer to handle
the divorce. Eric told Amber she would not get a dime of Rick's money. Amber
scoffed that she didn't want any money. She never had. She had only wanted
to be part of a special, loving family.
Amber reminded Rick that they had been in love at one time. She regretted
losing his trust more than anything else. She realized she was leaving the
family with nothing, but she had learned to be a better person from all
of them. Amber explained that she was actually relieved when Becky showed
up in Venice and wanted her baby back. That meant Amber could finally stop
living the lie. Amber said she had grown up with a lying mother. Eric thought
she was making excuses but Taylor pointed out it did explain Amber's behavior.
Amber realized it was too late to salvage her relationship with the Forresters,
but she would become a better person because of them. She had learned what
a father truly was from Eric. She even respected Brooke for her fierce protection
of her son. She had truly learned the most from Stephanie. The matriarch
had taught her that family matters above all else. Amber realized none of
the Forresters would believe a word she was saying, but she swore it was
the truth.
Amber then promised Rick a clean break. She insisted he take back her
wedding ring. He didn't want it, but she forced him to take it. Amber said
he might run across it one day and remember there was a person in the world
that truly loved him. Amber then ran out the front door with Becky close
behind. On Stephanie's front step, Amber cried and Becky comforted her with
a hug.
Has anyone noticed that Amber and Morgan both have huge mouths?

In Brooke's office, Megan consoled Brooke about Rick's trauma. (That
Megan is such a busybody.) Brooke, concerned mother that she is, said she
was sure Rick would be OK since he had lots of support and then talked about
calling Thorne. Megan said Thorne had called for his messages but didn't
want to talk to Brooke. Brooke said she had to get through to Thorne. It
was inevitable that his marriage to Macy would eventually end.
Thorne was not interested in chatting when Brooke called him at home.
She convinced him to stay on the line and she once again pleaded her case.
Brooke told Thorne she wanted him back. Thorne expressed concern she would
once again want to be with Ridge. She suggested he talk to his brother and
find out the truth about what happened in Venice. When Macy joined Thorne
on the deck, he hung up on Brooke. Macy suggested Thorne stay home from
work and they indulge in some hanky-panky. Thorne told Macy she was more
beautiful than he had ever seen her. She declared her love for him. Macy
said she had been insecure about expressing her feelings for him but was
now comfortable in their relationship. Thorne promised to never hurt Macy
again. Macy said she knew they would argue at times, but she looked forward
to growing together. Macy told her husband she was the happiest she had
ever been. As Thorne left for the office, Macy licked her lips and told
him she'd be there waiting for him to return.
Back in Brooke's office, Megan told her boss that Morgan DeWitt was there
to see her. Megan noted that Morgan was a "fashion monster." She
had made a success of her father's company. Megan suggested that Brooke
and Morgan were a lot alike. Brooke cryptically wondered if anyone had pulled
a stunt on Morgan like Eric and Ridge had pulled on her. Brooke then announced she was going to fight back against Ridge and Eric. "When
I'm through with them, they won't know what hit them" Brooke promised.
Megan escorted Morgan into Brooke's office. Brooke and Morgan traded
the information they knew on each other. Morgan asked how Ridge, "the
love of Brooke's life", was doing. Brooke informed Miss DeWitt (Hey,
is she Joyce's sister?) that she and Ridge were no longer involved. In fact,
she only felt contempt for Ridge. Morgan seemed intrigued by that information.
Brooke got down to business and said she had a proposition for Morgan.
Over in Ridge's office, Taylor was really showing off her hair extensions
by letting her long, luxurious locks cascade over one shoulder. She and
Ridge briefly discussed Rick and Amber's situation. They then changed the
subject and both admitted they were amazed that Thorne had married Macy.
Ridge felt that Thorne finally realized it would never work out with Brooke.
Macy hoped that Thorne truly loved Macy. Ridge feared Brooke would continue
to pressure Thorne for a relationship but Taylor hoped Brooke would respect
the commitment he had made to Macy. Taylor suggested she and Ridge take
a holiday. When Ridge reminded her of their Venetian trip, Taylor literally
strangled him. (More pressure next time, Taylor. OK?) Ridge said that what
they had done turned out for the best. Taylor worried that Thorne would
be furious at them.
Speak of the devil. Thorne entered Ridge's office and was really, really
upset. Thorne noticed Taylor and Ridge's marriage did not seem to be in
trouble. He wanted to know what had really happened in Venice. Thorne wanted
to know who's idea it had been to get in the bed. Ridge admitted he had
tried to seduce Brooke. He had taken her to the edge and she fell off. Thorne
cried that Brooke had believed Ridge and Taylor's marriage was over. Thorne
couldn't believe his own brother would hurt him so badly.
"I loved Brooke. I still do. What am I supposed to do about that?"
Thorne cried.

Thorne continued to chastise Taylor and Ridge. Thorne said if they had
all the answers, then they could tell him what to do now. Ridge insisted
they had tricked Brooke for a good reason. Thorne asked if the end always
justified the means. He asked if they thought themselves to be God. They
seemed to think they knew what was best for everyone. Thorne said they had
destroyed something beautiful. They had hurt him more than they could imagine.
Thorne told of how he had been so low after seeing Brooke on the bed
with Ridge. He was surprised to see Macy on the bridge so soon after that
horrific sight. Taylor assured Thorne they had not planned on Macy being
there. Thorne wasn't sure he believed them. Macy had always been his best
friend (she had?) and it was inevitable things would turn out the way they
had. Taylor tried to make Thorne see there was a grain of truth in what
he had witnessed between Ridge and Taylor in Venice. If he didn't believe
that, he should end it with Macy.
Thorne said it wasn't that easy. Ridge and Taylor had hurt Macy, Brooke
and him with their thoughtless stunt. Thorne explained that Macy had not
come to Venice to get him back. She had only come to warn him about Brooke.
His happiness had meant more to Macy than her own. She left him in the rain
but he followed her to the airport and they went to Amsterdam. He proposed
to Macy and she turned him down at first because she knew it wasn't what
he really wanted. He convinced Macy that he would never hurt her again.
But Thorne didn't know that Brooke hadn't really betrayed him. Thorne congratulated
Taylor and Ridge on their devious handiwork. He said they had destroyed
three people's lives. Thorne then told them he was going to do the hardest
thing he'd ever had to do. Taylor asked if he was going to tell Macy the
truth. He didn't answer.
Macy attended an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting with Sally. (Several years
ago, Macy was an alcoholic. She always hid a flask in the cute, fashionable
purse she was carrying that day. She'd take a few swigs whenever she was
in the Spectra elevator.) A woman named Roberta told the story of her drinking.
Macy stood up and told the gathering how hard it was to overcome the addiction.
Macy credited her husband with helping her through the rough times. She
wouldn't be there today if it weren't for him. She encouraged Roberta to
make amends with her family. They would help her out. After the meeting,
John, the facilitator, encouraged Macy to be Roberta's sponsor. Macy had
been sober for 6 ½ years. (Has it really been that long?) Sally thought
it was a good idea, too. Macy was overjoyed at their confidence in her.
In Brooke's office, Brooke offered Morgan a job. Morgan said she was
not presently working because she didn't want to and she suspected there
was more going on here than a simple job offer. Brooke said she wanted a
new designer because she could no longer stand to work with Ridge and Eric
because of personal problems. Morgan wasn't eager to "step into the
lion's den" of trouble at Forrester Creations. Brooke wanted Morgan
to be the liaison between her and the design department. (Remember when
Brooke hired Sheila as the liaison between her and the Forrester family
after the BeLieF stealing debacle? I loved how every character pronounced
liaison a different way. Perhaps that will happen again.) Morgan asked if
she would work closely with Ridge. Brooke said Morgan would report to her,
not Ridge. Morgan said Brooke could not pay her enough money to work at
Forrester. Morgan hinted she had a reason she didn't want to work there
but didn't want to go into it. Brooke jotted a figure on a Forrester note
pad and handed it to Morgan. I guess Brooke could pay her enough money to
work at Forrester because Morgan immediately accepted the job and said she'd
be there in the morning. Brooke was pleased and Morgan left the office with
a strange look on her face. Oh, the mystery I can't wait to solve.
Thorne arrived home to his beach bungalow. Brooke called, but Thorne
told her he couldn't talk because he heard Macy's car outside. He said he
would call Brooke back. Encouraged, Brooke asked if Thorne planned to tell
Macy the truth just as he hung up the phone. Thorne spoke aloud to himself
and said he intended to tell Macy the truth that very day.
Macy bounded into the house and told Thorne she had the best day ever.
Thorne had a look of panic on his face as Macy hugged him.

Sally burst into Stephanie's office and congratulated La Forrester on
her first day back at work. Stephanie thanked Sally for the good wishes
and for inciting her to make a quick recovery. Sally offered her condolences
for the horrible news about Rick's baby. The two women agreed Kimberly could
help Rick through this difficult time. Their conversation switched to how
glad they were that Thorne and Macy were united in marriage. (AGAIN!) They
agreed their children belonged together and could over come any problems,
even Brooke. Stephanie bristled and asked if Sally thought Brooke would
cause problems for Thorne and Macy. "That dame is trouble. Always has
been. But I'm not worried about her" was Sally's reply.
Just a note: She hasn't said it in a long time, but Sally spoke of "my
daughter, Macy" today. Why does she feel the need to qualify that sentence?
She could say "my daughter." Because she only has one daughter,
we'd know she meant Macy. Or she could say "Macy" because I doubt
any of us know any other Macys. Just thinking out loud here.
Taylor went to Brooke's office (although we don't know what the purpose
was) but Brooke told her she was on her way to see Thorne. Brooke explained
that Thorne was going to tell Macy the truth about what happened in Venice
and that their marriage had been a mistake. Taylor pointed out that it was
obvious part of Brooke was still hung up on Ridge. She also said that Thorne
and Macy had a history and could work out their problems. Brooke spat that
Thorne's marriage to Macy was wrong and Taylor herself had said wrong never
wins. "So eat your words" Brooke screamed as she stormed out of
her office. Need some ketchup with that, Taylor?
At the beach bungalow, Thorne contemplated telling Macy the truth about
what had happened in Venice and their marriage should never have happened.
Macy was all bubbly and insisted she tell her good news before the talked
about his concerns. Macy said she was a different woman than before she
left for Europe. She related how she had attended an Alcoholics Anonymous
meeting that morning and for the first time had stood up and offered support
for another addict. She was so happy they had asked her to be a sponsor
for that woman. She knew she could take on such a task because of Thorne's
love for her.
Thorne agreed Macy appeared to be a changed woman. Macy explained she
had a newfound confidence because of her trust in Thorne. They both recalled
a conversation they had in Amsterdam. (It was a flashback, but the scene
was new. We had never seen it before.) In a church, Thorne implored Macy
to marry him. She expressed reservations because she would rather see him
happy with another woman than live through him hurting her again. Thorne
swore "I will never, ever hurt you again. I swear that will never happen."
Thorne and Macy returned to the present time. She said she would never question
him again.
Thorne didn't agree with Macy that he was a wonderful, extraordinary
man. He said he was ordinary and had failings like every other man. Macy
said that's what made him so special. He had meant his words of love and
those words made her a better person. She then apologized for dominating
the conversation and said he was free to talk about what he needed to discuss.
Thorne just kind of stared of her. How's he going to be able to hurt
her now? Riddle me that!

At Ridge and Taylor's house, Taylor was concerned Brooke had been correct
in thinking Thorne would tell Macy the truth and end their marriage. Ridge
did not think his brother would hurt Macy like that. Taylor feared their
actions in Venice may have made matters worse. Ridge admitted his relationship
with Brooke was at an all time low. He had seen Morgan DeWitt at the office
and had no clue why she would be hanging around. Taylor asked is she was
a famous model. Ridge said she had been a model and was now a hot designer.
He wondered what was up at Forrester.
Well, let me tell you. Morgan was already having furniture moved into
her office. (It used to be Grant's office and then was Clarke's. I'm glad
they recycle sets.) Eric was passing by and saw the commotion. Morgan introduced
herself and said it would be an honor to work with the great Eric Forrester.
She explained to Eric she had been hired as a "go-between." (I
see she cleverly avoided having to say the word "liaison.") Eric
apologized for the mistake but they did not need a new designer. Morgan
begged to differ. She said Forrester's growth was at a stand still. Her
hip, hot designs would sell better than the "prom dresses and debutante
gowns" of the new Princess line. Eric was furious and called Ridge.
Then Ridge showed up in Morgan's office. Morgan said she understood
there was friction between Brooke and the Forresters. Ridge told Miss DeWitt
he was concerned Brooke may have an agenda by hiring her. He was also surprised
she had come back to work at Forrester. She agreed she thought she'd never
return. (You mean to tell me Morgan has worked at Forrester Creations before?
Now that's just down right shocking.) They agreed they had worked well together
"before." (What's that supposed to mean? I'm ever so intrigued.)
Eric returned and dismisses Morgan, telling her to go back to her hotel.
Morgan informed the Forrester men she was not going anywhere.
At Spectra, Clarke was concerned to learn that Macy was coming into
the office. He thought perhaps Brooke was already causing trouble for Macy.
Sally said that was nonsense and she didn't want Clarke to talk that again.
But Macy walked into Sally's office visibly upset. (Had Thorne told her
the truth and dumped her? NO!) She had just been involved in a fender bender
and was fretting about her car. (Whew!) Clarke made sure there were no problems
between her and Thorne because of Brooke. Macy said she was certain Brooke
was no threat to her marriage. Thorne had convinced her of that.
But Thorne was all alone at home and Brooke called. She insisted on coming
over right away. When she arrived at the beach bungalow, she could tell
Thorne was upset. She comforted him and said she knew it had been rough
telling Macy the truth, but now they could be together. Thorne had to tell
Brooke that he had not told Macy why he had married her and he was not going
to tell her. He could not hurt Macy like that again. He had sworn that to
her to get her to marry him. Brooke cried that Macy was living in a dream
world. Thorne's heart was with Brooke. Thorne explained that everything
had changed when he married Macy. He would have to live with the "mistake"
he had made. Thorne recounted how rough Macy's life had been. (He listed
her father abandoning her, her alcoholism, the throat cancer
he did conveniently forget to mention Grant's death, but hey, he can't remember
everything.) Brooke said she knew Thorne loved her. Thorne admitted he would
never love a woman as much as he loved Brooke. Brooke pressed herself against
Thorne and begged "I need you." They kissed passionately.
Brooke told Thorne he had to tell Macy the truth that very day. (Omigawd!
What is our hero going to do?)
Episode Date: Wednesday, February 23,

At the Forrester photography studio, Clarke dropped by to visit Giovanni.
Clarke flirted briefly with a horrid day player pretending to be a super-model.
(My 15 year-old niece could have played a super-model better than this actress.)
Giovanni (who had a tiny sprout of facial hair on his chin) told Clarke
he could not quit thinking about Morgan DeWitt and he thought Brooke had
hired her to work at Forrester. Clarke was thunderstruck to think the Forresters
would allow an outside designer to work with them. Gio explained that Brooke
had hired Morgan to help with the tension between her and the Forresters.
(Again, no utterance of the "liaison.") Giovanni asked Clarke's
advice on how to get to know Morgan better. Clarke offered to personally
speak to Morgan and put a good word in for the photographer. Gio told Clarke
to stay away from her. He knew of Clarke's reputation of being a ladies'
man.
In Morgan's office, Eric was called away to a meeting just as he let
Morgan know she would not have a job at his company. Ridge stayed after
his father left and warned Morgan she had entered into a volatile situation.
Morgan told him she knew it would be rough, but she expected to do good
things for Forrester Creations. Ridge asked if Morgan had told Brooke about
"them." Morgan said there was no reason to discuss "it"
because "it" was ancient history. Ridge said he still had a lot
of questions and would like an explanation. Morgan said she might discuss
it another time. Ridge asked if she had ever married. Morgan said she had
devoted her life to her career. She expected good things to happen at Forrester
because she had high expectations and she always got what she wanted.
After Ridge left Morgan's office, Clarke dropped by to offer Morgan his
assistance. He told her he knew what it was like to work with Eric and Ridge.
If she ever needed advice on how to handle them, he'd be glad to help.
Ridge went to Eric's office and reported that Morgan planned to stay
at Forrester. Eric said he would not let Brooke bully him around because
she was mad at him.
At Spectra Fashions, Kimberly and Macy discussed Macy's marriage to
Thorne. Macy told her sister she had been hesitant to accept Thorne's proposal,
but he had convinced her how much he loved her. He insisted Brooke was a
part of his past. Macy was glad to hear that Rick and Kimberly would now
have a chance to be together. Kimberly said they would take it slow because
Rick had a lot of things to work out. Kimberly said she admired Brooke for
the way she had protected and fought for her son against Amber. Macy agreed
that everyone, even Brooke, had good qualities. (You might not think that
if you saw her pawing your hot husband right now, Macy.)
At the beach bungalow, Brooke blamed Eric and Ridge for Thorne's current
dilemma. She explained she could not stomach to be around the designing
Forresters, so she had hired model-turned-designer Morgan DeWitt to help
out. (Even Brooke didn't say "liaison" this time.) Brooke insisted
Thorne tell Macy the truth and end their marriage. Thorne said he was confused
because either decision he made would hurt someone he loved. Brooke said
he would let Macy down if he stayed married to her because she deserved
a life based on truth. She said relationships based on lies never lasted.
Thorne said he could not turn back time. (I wish Cher would make a guest
appearance about now and sing that big hit of hers. "If I Could Turn
Back Time" not "Believe" - although I'd listen to either
one. I'd could even go for some "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves."
But I digress.)
Thorne said this would be the hardest decision he would ever make. Brooke
knew he was a man of his word and he could not break his promise or his
vows to Macy. Brooke wept (and I mean she was working it, girl) that Thorne
was her soul mate. She had waited for him all her life. She begged Thorne
not to tear their relationship apart.
Episode Date: Thursday, February 24,

Brooke and Thorne continued their impassioned discussion at his house.
(Will this scene never end?) Brooke said she could not accept Thorne's decision
to stay with Macy. Thorne emphasized the issue was not a contest between
Brooke and Macy. It was about what Thorne could live with. Brooke asked
if he could live with regret. She insisted he could never forget the special
bond they shared in Venice. Brooke said he had to choose her and tried to
kiss him. Thorne resisted and said he did know what he was doing when he
married Macy. He had been impressed with how she only cared about his well
being even after he had jilted her at the impromptu wedding Stephanie had
tried to plan.
"So Macy's a saint! We all agree on that. But that doesn't mean
you have to spend the rest of your life with her" Brooke taunted as
she intimated Thorne did not love Macy. Thorne said he did love Macy - more
than he had even realized. Thorne said what he and Brooke had was too perfect.
It could not continue. Brooke reminded Thorne he had promised to always
be there for her. Thorne said they had both made promises they couldn't
keep. (What promise did Brooke make that she hasn't kept?) Thorne said the
entire world was against them. Their relationship didn't stand a chance.
Brooke was distraught! She cried because she couldn't believe Thorne
was going to let the nay-sayers win. She tried to kiss him again and he
pushed her away. Thorne told Brooke he loved her but their relationship
would never happen. Brooke couldn't take anymore and ran out onto the deck
and grabbed onto the side of the Jacuzzi as she collapsed in tears. (Why
did she run onto the deck? Why did she stop at the Jacuzzi? What the heck
is going on here?)
Amber returned home to her seedy apartment from job hunting. She could
not find a job as a club singer and no record company would let her in the
door. (Perhaps they had already heard her sing.) She asked if Rick had called
but was not surprised when Becky told her he had not. Amber was certain
Rick would hate her forever.
At the guest house, Eric stopped by to visit Rick. Rick told his father
he missed Little Eric. Eric said Rick was the baby's father in every way
that mattered. Eric called Becky and asked it Rick could come visit the
baby. Becky agreed and said Amber would be out of the apartment all afternoon
(knowing she was still there). Rick was anxious to see his "son."
Before Rick left, Eric told him what a fantastic father he had been to Little
Eric and he was incredibly proud of him.
Back at the seedy apartment (you think it might be in South Central?),
Amber ate a cup of Ramen Noodles (doesn't she know how much sodium is in
those things?) and checked the want ads. Becky said she would have to return
to Paris to her fabulous job soon. She encouraged Amber to join her and
Little Eric. Amber said she could not afford the ticket to France and Becky
could not support her as well as the baby. When Rick knocked on the door,
Becky explained she had invited him over with the hopes he would talk to
Amber. Amber said she had promised never to speak to Rick again. Now he
would think she had set up the entire thing. Amber hid in the bedroom when
Rick came in. Rick was ecstatic to see his "son." He explained
to Becky that it was hell being away from Little Eric. Becky thought Amber
might be experiencing the same pain. Rick scoffed at that notion. He was
certain Amber didn't care about anyone but herself.
Amber was peeking out of the bedroom, listening to every word they said.
(She's also probably really thirsty after downing all those salty noodles.)

At Forrester Creations, Ridge and Eric consulted in Eric's office. Eric
was furious as he read a review of Morgan's designs that included "python
halters and ostrich hot pants." (Don't those sound beautiful?) Eric
ranted that Forrester had always been known for classic and elegant designs.
They were not ones to follow trends. Eric would not allow Brooke to undermine
the company he had worked 30 years to build just so she could get revenge.
Over in Brooke's office, she was crying and remembering all the fabulous
times she and Thorne had shared in Venice. (She happened to remember the
bubble bath - good girl.) Ridge and Eric barged in to confront her. Brooke
was sarcastic and mean-spirited as she addressed the Forrester designers.
She explained she had merely hired Morgan for Stephanie's sake. With someone
to help carry the design load, Eric would have more time to tend to his
sickly wife. Brooke thought Stephanie's health was the reason they
had broken up her relationship with Thorne. She was only trying to help.
(Good one, Brooke. You keep digging.) Brooke then yelled that they had been
jealous she was happy without them. Thorne had done for her what Eric and
Ridge could not. She didn't want them to apologize for their actions. She
wanted them to hurt - just like she was hurting! Eric stated Brooke would
not get away with theses shenanigans. Brooke screamed that Eric was a pig
and lunged at him as if to choke him!
Ridge broke up the rumble just as Morgan walked into the office. She
realized she was in the middle of a domestic crisis and turned on her heel
to leave. Brooke stopped her from leaving and announced she was naming Morgan
as head designer! Morgan declined the offer and Brooke agreed that Morgan
and should work extremely closely with Eric to learn everything she could.
Eric told Brooke she could not run the company without him. Brooke agreed.
She said she certainly didn't have him around for his personality. (Ouch!)
Brooke told Ridge and Eric she owned 51% of the company and she made the
decisions. If they didn't like it, they could look for work
elsewhere.
Note: All the women have changed clothes in the middle of the day. We
know it's the same day because Rick is still at Amber's new apartment as
he was in yesterday's episode. I wonder why Macy, Brooke and Morgan (wearing
a choker with a feather - ostrich perhaps - dangling down her throat) all
changed costumes. Perhaps they are trying to give us the impression that
more time has passed, but you can's pull a fast one on Mr. Smartypants.
At Amber's seedy apartment, Becky told Rick she expected he would eventually
forgive Amber. Rick said that would never happen and he continued to bad-mouth
Amber. Becky told Rick to stop saying such things around her son. Rick didn't
want to make Becky mad and he apologized. Amber listened from the bedroom
and was distraught to hear the contempt in Rick's voice. As Rick prepared
to take Little Eric for a walk to the park, Becky received a phone call
from Suzanne in Paris. Becky agreed to return to her job by Monday. Rick
overheard the promise and said he couldn't let Becky leave so soon. Becky
explained she had a son to support and needed to keep her job. Rick contended
that the baby was a part of the Forrester family and he couldn't be taken
so far away. Becky gently explained the decision was not Rick's to make.
Rick abruptly left in a huff, leaving poor Little Eric strapped in his stroller
waiting for that trip to the park. Amber came out of the bed room and hated
herself for hurting Rick so much.
Over at Thorne's beach house, Thorne stood on the deck and fondled his
wedding ring as Macy arrived. (Has anyone else noticed how red Macy's hair
has been the past couple of days?) Macy had purchased ingredients for Thorne
to make his famous hot chili. Thorne had other "hot" topics in
mind and removed Macy's dress! They did the dirty hula on that huge chaise
lounge Thorne bought at Home Depot. In the afterglow of sweet lovin', Macy
asked what had made Thorne so hot and passionate. (Mind you, she was not
complaining. No sir-ee Bob.) He said he had a fantasy, but all he wanted
was the real life with her. (She also noticed he had "found" his
wedding ring. Found? Had it been lost?) Macy left to take a shower. (I should
hope so.)
In her office, Brooke was now alone and cried she could not go on without
Thorne. She dialed Thorne's number but when he answered all she could do
was whimper and hang up. Thorne pounded the receiver against his head in
despair.

At Spectra Fashions, Macy told Sally, CJ and Clarke she had been contacted
to give a quote to a magazine about the new Forrester designer. They were
surprised to learn that Clarke knew Morgan DeWitt had been hired by Brooke.
Sally recalled Morgan had been a little too wild for the Forresters during
her modeling stint for them. None of the Spectra team could figure out why
Brooke would intentionally piss off Eric by going over his head and hiring
a new designer. CJ could tell Clarke was enamoured with Miss DeWitt. Sally
ordered Clarke to stay away from Morgan. Brooke was obviously angry and
she'd only get more so if Clarke started hanging around Forrester. Sally
sensed Morgan was trouble.
Over at Forrester Creations, Morgan followed Eric and Ridge into Ridge's
office. During a conversation that featured both Morgan and Eric speaking
the word "liaison", Morgan told the designing duo that Brooke
wanted to bring them to their knees. Morgan said she would be the best designer
to mediate the situation because she had an affinity for the Forrester company
and family. They had given her a start in the business. She was their only
hope of making peace with Brooke. Rick interrupted the conversation by asking
to speak to his father in private.
Eric and Rick went to Eric's office where Rick explained Becky intended
to take Little Eric to Paris within the week. Eric stood by his promise
to always consider the baby part of the Forrester family. Eric called Becky
and summoned her to his office at once. No sooner had he hung up the telephone
than Becky appeared. (It must be that new subway system in LA.) She was
afraid they would try to take Little Eric away from her. Instead, Eric offered
her a better position (Assistant to Sales and Marketing, whatever that might
be) at Forrester in Los Angeles. Becky gratefully accepted the offer and
was in awe of their generosity. (Yawn. There's lots better stuff coming.)
Back in Ridge's office, Morgan asked what had happened to the passion,
the lust, the va-va-voom, Ridge had once shown in his designs. Ridge showed
Morgan and trashy design he had placed off to the side. She was pleased
to see he still had that free spirit. We then learned that Morgan had been
the model that wore Ridge's first design in a fashion show. They had snuck
the design onto the runway. Eric had been furious but had allowed Ridge
to become a designer when the dress garnered fabulous reviews. Ridge said
Morgan's willingness to help him in that endeavor had started his career.
Morgan said he now owed her the chance to design for Forrester as well.
The joked and kidded and slugged each others' arms just as Taylor walked
to the door and spied on them. When Morgan noticed her, Taylor entered the
office and quickly staked her claim by kissing Ridge. Morgan and Taylor
were introduced, but didn't hit it off at all.
Morgan left the office and Taylor told Ridge the new designer seemed
a little strange. Ridge didn't care to chit chat. He only wanted to make
out with his wife. As they smooched, Morgan assumed the Peeping Tom position
at the office door and watched the happy couple getting it on. Her memory
drifted back to
OMIGAWD! It's time for a cheesy flashback that never happened, so they
had to film it now! We were treated to Morgan remembering that first fashion
show with Ridge. To the strains of "Call Me" by Blondie, Ridge
watched in the wings dressed in a hideous Members Only jacket even the Flock
of Seagulls wouldn't have been caught dead in. The costume department had
wigged him with a huge head of black hair and a pony tail with two (not
one, but two) rubber bands in it. Morgan ran back stage after modeling the
trashy gown (ala Madonna, circa "Like a Virgin") and the two kissed
and celebrated their success.
"Call Me" hit #1 on the Billboard charts on April 19, 1980.
"Like a Virgin" hit #1 on December 22, 1984. (Coincidentally,
both songs spent six weeks at #1.) The Bold and the Beautiful premiered
in March 1987. I suppose this lovely flashback had to fall sometime between
mid-1984 and mid-1986 since Ridge had no insipid pony tail when the soap
debuted. I only regret I could not have provided my dear readers with a
better video capture of the fantasy flashback. For obvious reasons the lighting
was kept very low. (Please don't get me wrong, Ronn Moss (Ridge) is a very
attractive man, but having him pretend to be 20 years younger is a bit of
a stretch, don't you think?) For the same reason, the camera never lingered
too long on a close up portrait of either actor. It was just all so bad
and so cheesy. I just can't tell you how much I loved it. Please, please,
please. More, more, more.

Sorry folks, no bad 80's flashbacks today.
Giovanni stopped by Morgan's office and left a rose and a note on her
desk. He told himself that tonight would be the night. Giovanni returned
to the photo studio and found Clarke admiring some of his snap shots. Clarke
tried to pump Gio for information about Morgan becoming a designer at Forrester.
Giovanni told his friend he did not know the particulars of her job, but
he was looking forward to taking her out to dinner that evening. He told
Clarke he left a note inviting her out and expected a call from her any
minute. Giovanni was confident she would accept his invitation. They agreed
Morgan was an intriguing woman as Clarke offered a smarmy smirk and left
the studio.
Morgan continued to spy on Taylor and Ridge acting lovey-dovey. Megan
passed by and interrupted Morgan's surveillance. Megan assumed Morgan was
waiting to see Ridge and said he probably wouldn't be much longer. Morgan
left in a huff and guessed Ridge would be busy for a long time.
Morgan returned to her office and found the rose Giovanni had left.
She read the note and was about to call the photographer to accept his invitation
when Clarke came into her office. Clarke told the unsuspecting Morgan that
Gio had been delayed at a photo shoot. Clarke lied that Giovanni had asked
him to escort Morgan to Mannequins and have a drink with her until Giovanni
could join her. Morgan wasn't sure but decided she could do worse than spend
the evening with Clarke. Clarke about popped a cork while Morgan changed
her clothes in the office in front of him.
After they had left, Giovanni entered Morgan's office with the remaining
eleven roses and found a note Clarke had left behind. Clarke explained he
had stolen Morgan for the evening. Giovanni was not too please to discover
his "friend" had betrayed him.
Back in Ridge's office, he and Taylor shared an innuendo laden conversation
that basically told us that Ridge had been hornier than usual and Taylor
was very, very good at satisfying his needs. (Ew!) Taylor suspected Ridge
was getting worked up by seeing lots of beautiful models and Morgan DeWitt.
Ridge said he only had eyes for his wife. Her combination of looks, brains
and mothering abilities really turned him on. He presented Taylor with what
appeared to be a slinky negligee but turned out to be a dress (!) he intended
her to wear out to dinner.
And where did they go? Where else but Mannequins! They sat and said
sweet nothings to each other. Taylor said she was used to women like Morgan
DeWitt (get off that one note, honey) staring at her husband. Who should
walk into the restaurant at that very moment but Miss Morgan DeWitt. Morgan
had a seat at the bar while Clarke parked the car. Ridge excused himself
from the table to visit the little boy's room. He didn't notice Morgan as
he passed the bar, but she certainly noticed him. She was so excited I was
certain she'd slide right off the bar stool. Her reverie was interrupted
by Taylor telling her to put her eyes back in her head. Taylor suggested
Morgan save "that look" for someone else.
"Is that my first warning?" asked Morgan.
"No, just some friendly advice" replied Taylor.
"I don't take advice from friends" Morgan sniped.
"Then consider it your first warning" Taylor threatened.
Oh, this is going to get very good very fast.
